[Music] hi my name is T and Bernette and so you won't forget I am from the city of the loop and let me tell you we got some history of our sleeves you may know us for our Gateway Arch and before we start it is the gateway to the Midwest and as the news tests we are the most dangerous of all yet that's not what I'm here to say so let us not stray dread Scot's truth is what I will am mask who is he you ask he was a man who wanted Freedom Dread Scott Was Born Into Slavery no type of easy picking the white cotton from a bush hope constantly smush because blacks were only property and then his master died in the L with nothing to do dread Scott was sold to a better man he's like Peter Pan this new man took got to Neverland or was he taking to Freedom land slavery was banned in the freedom state of Illinois so it was a joy Dread Scott could have been a free black man then he was summoned by his master yes I'll come fter from Wisconsin to Louisiana could barely stand up he went from the free to the Sha six years later dread Scott's Master died I wouldn't have cried and Dread Scott tried to buy his freedom Dread Scott should have won but the Widow loved her dark brown men so he took matters to the courthouse they told him get out he belonged to no one that point they didn't anoint Scott was just unowned property but Missori said y'all try again like they were a friend and St Louis ran the case once more and there was the door Dread Scott got the freedom he wanted Scott was a free man for just two years and to be Crystal Clear Missouri one is Scot in his place so to keep it straight of the Court slam the door in his face the case was appealed to the Supreme that a final team Dread Scott was set up for failure and I will tell you that every Justice was a racist and Dread Scott was not freed legally he had friends you see they made Mr Scott their property then they set him free finally Scott tasted Liberty and like I said the L holds history ain't no mystery and I will always remember it the city exists because of those who came out of it
