Massachusetts supermarkets close delis again due to Boar's Head recall

[Music] thanks for joining us I'm Chris Tanaka with the WBZ News update Deli at all Stop and Shop in Big Y supermarkets closed for a second time after Bor had expanded its recall because of a leria outbreak now this is the second time the stores closed their delies for a deep clean in less than a week at First Bo's head thought the outbreak was contained to less than 10 products but it's now recalling 71 items this includes prepackaged deli meat found in store aisles and meat sliced behind the counter two people in Western Massachusetts have gotten sick along with dozens of others from across the country two people in the United States have died now we've got a complete list of all the recalled products on our website wbz.com well at Boston city counselor is sounding the alarm about Staffing within the police department the city lost officers at a w record rate during the pandemic 36 resigned in 2022 compared to just one in 2018 early retirements also skyrocketing during that same time the shortage is leading to thousands of dollars in mandatory overtime with some officers working 16 hours a day Boston City councelor Ed Flynn calls it a recipe for disaster and is trying to recruit more officers well the NBTA has now removed nine slow zones on the Reds line after more more than 2 weeks of work trains are now back on operation as Crews were able to replace more than 21,000 ft of track as well as repair benches stairways install new lighting replace some AC units and improve security Now even after the work there are still 72 active restrictions on the red line time now for a check of your next weather forecast here's meteorologist Jacob woff Chris we are expecting some showers even some storms to move in as we head later into the morning and into the afternoon hour some of those light showers starting to kind of Blossom over parts of Connecticut at the moment moving from the southwest to the Northeast so if it's dry right now you're on borrowed time more showers and storms for the midday right on into the afternoon finally wrapping up and pushing on out of here as we go into Thursday Thursday is going to be mainly dry but we're going to be far from sunny as we do have some hayy sunshine in the forecast today low 80s for highs few degrees below where we were yesterday but you can thank the cloud cover and the rain for that and we're tracking some of those storms tomorrow we're back into the low 90s the tropical air remains slight chance for an isolated sprinkle but I think most of us dry and you'll notice the blue skies behind me unfortunately it's going to be that filtered Sunshine that I mentioned because of wildfires here's your full 7-day forecast we hold on to the '90s into Friday Saturday and Sunday will be very humid not great conditions for the PMC and also tracking some showers and storms especially on Sunday Chris all right Jacob this has been a WBZ News update I'm Chris Tanaka have a great day
