Marcus Semien & Nathan Eovaldi on Texas Rangers World Series White House Visit With President Biden

[Music] guys you guys I didn't hear the question big basball tradition you guys have special it's special you know especially the guys whose first time it is you know I know Evo got to come here in U after they won in 18 but it's something I've always wanted to do um and to do it as a World Series Champion is um you know makes it even more special I think but everybody seems really excited and just amazed at everything inside and can't wait to meet the president what was it like when you went 19 hey it was awesome um you know being able to again you know we were representing the Red Sox at the time and to be able to come out there and you know like you said it's a tradition in baseball and you know across the sports uh you know across the world to be able to come and once you win the championship um you know it feels like it's the first time again and I i' been able to be in some of those rooms and to come back in there it's like wow you know it's it goes by so fast and it's hard to take it all in there had been there had been some attempts to kind of get do this earlier kind ofont were you guys at all I don't want to say concerned but you want to have this opportunity did you have any point KH think it may not happen um I actually was not sure when we were going I didn't even know about the first two attempts but but we only come to the east coast so many times this year so I'm glad we had a day off um yes we're playing New York tomorrow but it's it's easy to get around the east coast is what from what I'm seeing um so we made it happen yeah no I mean uh I know we tried a few times to make it happen and obviously the president has a very busy schedule and things like that so uh for us to be able to make this work I mean anytime we're on the east coast and he says you know you get that invitation you know um a lot of the guys are very excited to be here and uh you know getting to expl explore the parts that they're letting us see it's cool what's the coolest thing you've seen um I think for me just seeing the house from outside um or having that view from inside looking out at the the Washington Monument was you know just an iconic view I think and um you know just how the people inside treat us they treat us with the the utmost respect and everybody's very nice and um feel special it's really cool being able to you know talk to everybody inside I feel like everybody has their own piece of history and uh you know they're sharing that you know the little information that or you know the information that they have with us about you know the artwork or the pieces of furniture it's you know probably got a million dollars worth of furniture sitting there right next to you and it's a little corner table and it's uh it's an awesome experience and you know just again trying to soak all soak it all up the US Olympic is going sorry not the US the Olympic is going on in Paris right now uh what is your message to Team USA um keep going you know we it looks like we're doing great a ton of gold medals a ton of medals in general before we came here I was watching the volleyball team and the women's volleyball team they just went on to the championship match so every time I turn it on I feel like I I just get so excited seeing the best of the best in our country um perform so well right now two more questions pretty contentious political time right now we are in an election year you do you get a sense of a need to be here to show Unity to show respect for the office but also to be here representing the MLB and the Texas Rangers of course you know I think that um for our team we were invited here and you know being here is an honor um yes there there are crazy times right now you know out there but I think our job as baseball players entertainers athletes is to make sure people have a good time when they come watch us and that's you know the the relationships we build with people fans um you know everybody in Dallas or wherever we play those relationships mean a lot to me cuz when I'm done I'm going to sit back and say I got to meet a lot of cool people and hopefully make people's days yeah you anything you'd like to say to President Biden specifically uh nothing specific I mean just thank you for having us yeah thank you for having us it's an honor to you know for me as a a Simeon I'm the first one to potentially meet a president and be in the white house so you know my dad made sure to let me know that he's very proud of me and I can't wait thanks [Music] oh [Music]
