you how how did you get here we flew flew through Atlanta um do you have any connections to Lexington or is it just you came here just for Southern Miss this is my first time to in Lexington it's been great love the town love the culture um but I came here specifically to watch the golden eagles awesome so I know what conference are you all in again it's not the SEC of course but what we're in the Sun Belt so what have you noticed about coming to a big you know SEC environment what what what's what stood out here about this trip well we played Mississippi State last year Florida State and of course LSU is nearby for us so I'm familiar with the environment um and you know we're happy to be here we're happy for the challenge in 2016 Southern Miss came in golden eagles Kentucky was up 35 to1 and the the Southern Miss team came back and beat him 4435 so um you know things can happen yeah a lot of Kentucky fans have been reflecting on that this week so we me we remember it very well different I think the program to be fair might have been at a different level at that point time um can we get you a score prediction what what what's your score prediction for this game you know I'm going to say uh golden eagles 30 31 and um 28 Kentucky awesome and what can for fans that don't know a whole lot about Kentucky fans that don't know a whole lot about Southern Miss who does Kentucky need to worry about who's The Playmakers on Southern Miss well uh the quarterback we're going to see him for the first time he's a transfer from um from Florida State and uh and I think Tate raker is his name and and and Tate I think is is going to be somebody who can run the offense really well um we have some Speedy receivers and and uh running backs and um and a really great defensive line that's projected to be probably the best in the Sun Belt Conference okay got two more questions for you first question how do you all beat Kentucky what's your all's game plan do you think is the most successful way to come in here and leave with the win well I think it it's all about playmaking if you look back at the 2016 game we were underdogs and we came in here and it was about a block punt it was about an interception couple of long field goals and capitalizing on what you have I mean that's football as coach will Hall says you it's 11 on 11 we're playing on Turf it's football and uh you know we we love the opportunity to be here great fan base great town and um and look even if Southern Miss doesn't come come away Victorious I think this would be a great test for the team to go into our conference play and I think that um uh you know there there's a lot of a lot of uh lessons and maturation that could happen over this this uh weekend and last question what are you drinking on game day whatever I want do have you gotten to try any of the Bourbons since you've been in town I have I went to a bourbon tour a couple of a couple of uh days ago we went Woodford Buffalo Trace small Distillery it's been really great I mean Kentucky's been great um and uh you know it's a great town and I really I'm glad I had the opportunity to come what is your old's name Bryce SLO Andrew will Matthew awesome so yall clearly Kentucky fans that's what we like uh first we have to start off with your score predictions how is this game going to unfold I think we're going to win by a blowout 21 plus is what we're going to win by 3813 two defensive turnovers 42 to 10 cats all day I'm going to go 45-13 uh what time did y'all get out here and start tailgating I know fans do this early but when did y'all show up we showed up about two I know our guys were out here earlier than that though but we showed up about two I got out here about about 2:00 130 32 yeah about noon are any of yall students here or are you just just fans we just graduated I'm a student here how long how long have you all been fans of Kentucky Sports I've had these I've had my season tickets since LSU 2007 that I can remember so hey since I've been wearing diapers you know how it goes I was about 2 years old in Arkansas 6ot game so I've been to every basketball football since about five six years old seven seven L what game are you all most excited about on the schedule this season we've got a hard schedule Georgia Georgia 7:30 ABC ESPN Saturday night Georgia they struggled with Clemson if you look at it they won 36-3 but if you look at it they didn't score their points to the second half we always played Georgia nine out of 10 years we always play him good we got blown out by 60 one year out of 10 years we're not going to lose by more than 21 points well let me ask you we three to Georgia week three it's going to be 17- 10 Georgia 17 to 10 Georgia next week South Carolina biggest game of the year swing game right there I got a serious question for you so last year I hated it just as much as anybody did but the Georgia game it was awful it was embarrassing that is like the next step for Mark stops and them to keep advancing do you truly like truly believe that we can go past that so so the next step for Mark Stoops let me tell you this is either beat an SEC West team which she hasn't done or beat an SEC East predominant like you got to beat the schools like Tennessee Tennessee Missouri Florida consistently one of our we need to win one of our four four eight and four losses to Georgia Old Miss Texas and you throw in South Carolina Florida Old Miss Auburn in there but eight and four we have to win one of those big ones we beat off we have to if we want to make the playoff we have to win one of those are you all making any of the road trips this year we go to Old Miss Austin Texas we Old Miss we'll be we'll be at Old Miss and Austin awesome Yep wearing your blue all right I got to ask you what are y'all drinking on game day you look like you had a couple what what are yall what's in your's cup we we're we're drinking Natty lights and uh wild wilderness Trace Danville Kentucky 90% proof Wilderness Trace Bourbon and Coke little little makers little vodka a little bit everything you know I'm going with the nil beer we're going with Kentucky Blue Light because we want to get those recruits we got to come out we got to drink those beers to get the recruits that's that's I'm glad you brought that up so that you know we're in a world now where like players can make money off our beer sales like can you just what's your opinion on that like is that extremely cool is it weird for like what's your thoughts on that it's awesome it's a great way to give back to community you know like we can actually help the players out you know through through the sales so like the more we can do for the program the better you know it's huge it gives away from those blue Crawlers work everyday type of guys to give back to the program and feel like we're a part of the program so move forward you have any beer today completely agree yes I've had some of those they beat Kentucky uh good defense no turnovers uh and we've got to have some sustained drives control the football and control the clock what he said there you go there you go can you give us a score prediction and who you have winning oh I don't know I I can't do that because I've told all my friends and I I have no predictions I I I I'm expecting the best but you know we'll see prediction for you same um I know yall the last time Kentucky played yall you left with a win were you all a part of that like did you show up for the like were you at the game or what was that like we were not here for the comeback win in 2016 we were there for the game in 2017 in Hattisburg when you guys come up there and beat us by a touchdown barely barely yes yes so we have a good tradition the last 10 10 12 years you know did did that when you all did beat Kentucky did what kind of effect does it have on your all's program did it change anything did it give you you know more confidence but like did it affect your all's rest of your season like in as a fan base how what's it like beting Kentucky I I I think it helped us cuz we had just gone through a coaching change at that time uh Todd monin had left for the NFL and then uh we had a coaching change and then for us to come back in that game and and to pull off that win was was huge for our program we just we just were unable to carry that on that success yes and we struggles did you get what's your thoughts from that game as well how was it that's okay that's okay um I'm a I'm just a che she's a supporter she supports me okay um what what how what would you consider Kentucky strengths I know they haven't had a game yet but like who are you most worried about if any well I know your passing game and I remember with Levis here last year he's gone now and everything I know your guys offense and your your your your tradition of football you you seem to just be getting better and better and better and uh and we're hoping to return to that level and uh I just really honestly coming into the night I don't know what to expect what you know it's like a a big question mark from both sides I feel like all right let's go we're here players should have been compensated for their actions you know since back in the day they the schools been gaining millions of dollars for the for the work they put in and they've gotten zero dollars what's I mean I've always known about the basketball rivalry going back I think it's a good rivalry I mean I don't know so when they play each other what what what do you wear for UK I live in I live in like Northern Kentucky so I'm going for UK but I got a lot of family in what is your name Shaya chowski so you're definitely Southern Miss fans did you fly drive like what was your trip like coming to Lexington we drove yesterday how long of the drive was that um it's supposed to be nine: but we had a flat so it took us 13 oh I'm so sorry to hear that wow well in your experience with in Lexington is first question is this your first time if so what's it what's your thoughts on Lexington um I've been to a basketball game before but I love Lexington I love my brother-in-law is from Kentucky so we yeah they're one of our favorites to come to what all do you like about Lexington what uh what what stands out what do you tell people about what Lexington's like um I would say it spread out kind of I haven't seen any major like Metropolitan type area you know like to go to it's kind of spread out like we live in lowwood and Jackson and it's I just I didn't know what to expect really have you gotten to try any of the bourbon see any of the horses since you've been in town we haven't because we were delayed and I'm glad that we didn't come today cuz my child blazs and I had we waited we would not have made it in time so always come to day before okay so what does Southern Miss have to do to walk out with a win today we have to play good defense um I don't know now that it's raining I grew up my dad was a coach I would say if it's we might have to run the ball can you give us a score prediction who's winning and what's the final score we're going to we're going to
