[Music] hi everybody thanks for joining me today to I'm going to show to do my wood bracelet kit so just so you know this is a chunky large wood bracelet clasp it's about 3 Ines in diameter and before you start your project I just wanted to let you know you need an additional half inch per each strand along the wood Buckle here in length to be able to maneuver this clasp on and off it's on your wrist so it's here it's going to take a little bit to be able to get it on and off like so you will need extra length on your seeds to be able to maneuver this up and around when it's on your wrist so having said that let's get Crafting hi everybody thanks for joining me today today I'm going to show you how to do um the bracelet that goes with the wood clasp um if you've purchased this kit um this will show you how to make this bracelet um for starter uh the clasp opens and closes like this and it's about 2 in in diameter just a little over 2 in this direction and when you're making this bracelet you will need to have an extra half inch of beads to go around your wrist for this to open and close on your wrist um so if you want to have a 7 in bracelet let's say this portion is 7 in around your wrist you will need an extra half inch to make it 7 and 1 12 in to fit as if it was a 7 inch bracelet the reason why is as you add more strands of beads it will make a thicker bracelet which tightens everything up on the clasp and when you try to open and close it around your wrist you need to have room here as you're pointed around to close you will need need to have the room like this with the beads if you do not have enough and it's too tight you won't be able to close the clasp and your bracelet will not fit in addition to that it will pull on the wire so over time it can Fray them or it will cause them to snap and break so when you're making this bracelet you will need to have the extra half inch of beads so you have the room to pull this bracelet cup cuff up and over like this to fit on your wrist and have the beads going over the front so this way it fits if I were to make this just slightly smaller the bracelet would not be able to go up and around over my wrist like so so again uh you'll want to just WRA the top have an extra half inch of beads um so I'm going to go through step by step here on how to put this bracelet together uh with everything and how you connect through here so uh let's get started so the first thing I'm going to do is I'm using 49 strand beon wire size 18 it's a thicker wire uh you want to have a thicker wire so that way it can support the beads as well as some tugging that will happen as you're wearing the bracelet and I lay the wire across the sides like this so I have a little extra but I also have extra wire and I know where I'm falling at on the cuff portions so I know how to add the wire so you want to have extra wire space when you put this on the clasp you have a little room here that way the wire can go around the clasp and have room to um maneuver around your wrist as you're going throughout your day and it will give the wire space to bump around and not become frayed or pull on it and also you need to have room on the wire for your beads so if this is too tight your beads are going to Bunch up like so and they won't be able to bend around your wrist so you want to have space left on The Wire I have a small Gap here so that way the beads can go up and down the wire and when you bend the clasp you want your beads to be able to round around your wrist comfortably and not stack up on top of each other so depending on how large the bead is we'll determine how much room you need between the crimp cover and the bead so you have room for the beads to move like this and the same for this one uh and even if you're using smaller beads you still want to have a gap on The Wire so that way the beads can move as you uh put the bracelet around your wrist so I'm going to go ahead and fish out my crimps here and we're going to attach a wire and I'm using number one crimp from Beeton and so I put the crimp on my wire first and I'm going to slide it through my clasp and I'm going to take the other side of the wire and slide it through the crimp like so and I want again leave a little bit of Gap here between the crimp and the wood clasp that way I have room for my wire to move around and also for my crimp cover and I'm using Beeton crimpers I'm just going to go and crimp down like this and when you're crimping you want to be able to have the hamburger look when you're finished that's a really really nice crimp right there and when I pull on my wire it's not going anywhere so it's crimped down in place and I cut off the excess wire and I'm going to add a crimp cover I'm using 3 mm crimp crimp cover size um it just kind of gives it more of a finished look and I'm going to go and crimp that cover down press it down a little bit there we go so the other thing is these are 2 mm size holes so you can add multi strands I would say about two strands through each hole on my bracelet I have in my store I have two strands through the middle here to add extra texture to the bracelet with a thicker look for beads um you can stick to five if you want but there is room if you wanted to do two strands of wire on each one the kit I think I have one more available right now comes with wire and crimp and crimp covers and the clasp and beads for this project so I've already added a little bit of H Picasso beads here and these are 60 and the other size is um just above 11 o it's it's a thicker one I mean it's a larger one too and you can also mix gemstones in here or glass I also feel like this project would be great for a bead soup so if you had a variety of beads that you wanted to use and put together it's just different colors for like a boho eclectic look you could use different size beads that you have laying around for a fun um like bracelet soups style I got to plug my phone in really quick I just think that would be a lot of fun so I'm going to grab some beads for the third strand [Music] and for this one I'm just going to add a variety of Picasso beads that I have to mix it up a little bit in different colors and you just add the beads that you want and as you're going you do want to have a ruler out so you can double check your size as you're going so you want every strand to be the same length that way uh they're the same length on the bracelet as you twist it around like the top of your wrist they they won't bunch out as much if they're the same length you might have one strand that kind of pops out a little bit more than the other ones depending on the size of bead but usually if they're the same length um they'll lay next to each other pretty nicely I'm just going to add a variety of beads here and it's fun again with this style a bracelet you can mix uh you can have all the exact same beads you can mix different colors to shake it up and have like a different colors and textures of beads for a different look I think it would just be uh it's a great project for using know seed beads that you have laying around you can just literally put whatever you want on there and it will look good and it will match lots of different outfits and doing some different colors I have a container with lots of mixed um like orphan beads seed beads Picasso beads that have come from different packages in different sizes like 60 2 Etc 110 and it's fun to just kind of mix them all together together for projects and also thank you for joining me today I really appreciate you liking and subscribing as well that really helps support me when you do thank you and I'm almost done with this Strand and then when I get to the end I'll show you how I close it off uh this bracelet is over an hour long project it can take up to a couple hours so just be prepared that when you start your kit uh it will take a little bit and you really want to double check your steps as you're going uh to make sure everything fits um I have made this bracelet before and I had to cut it apart and start all over again because it was too small so you want to make sure as you're working that this will fit around your wrist and you can open and close the clasp while it's on your hand on your wrist um because you might measure it and it might say 7 in and and it might be your bracelet size but you can't get this on and off your wrist and then you have to cut it and start it all over again that's happened to me before I just finished it was beautiful had to start all over again because it wasn't the right size and it took me like three hours I was very sad okay so I need to go a little bit more here okay probably one more so you want each strand to be the same length as the previous strand you also want to have the same amount of wire space on each end so you also need to factor that in as well and you also want to have your covers and at the same space it's a little hard when you have the strands laying next to each other like this so I try to pull it tight a little bit to kind of gauge where the beads are falling like on each end just kind of make it a little tight and then this kind of tells me okay well this one probably has one extra bead so I'm going to go and take it off and then just check it again the other thing while you're working is you want to make sure you measure it with your ruler each time that you're still in the same size bracket that you're looking for because sometimes as you string the beads and tighten them here you go um you lose a little bit of you use you lose maybe a couple millimeters and before you know it your bracelets up here instead of back here so you I'm just constantly measuring it making sure it's the same size so right here we're looking at a 7 and 1/2 in bracelet so if you want an 8 in bracelet sorry a 7 in bracelet this will fit if you want one larger you would have to start over again because you need that extra half inch so I'm done with this strand so next I'm going to go ahead and close it off with a jump ring and you close it off the same way you start it you add your jump ring and you add it around your wood clasp here and bring it around and again you want to make make sure you have enough room so that the wire will move around your clasp comfortably I'm going to pull this tight so that way the wire can go around the clasp as you're wearing it comfortably and it won't Fray or pulling it too tightly because you have room and you also want to push up your crimp bead so you have space on the wire for these um beads to maneuver up and down the wire as well again and if you don't have a little bit of space here with the wire in between you um will have the uh beads kind of bang up on each other like this and that you want them to kind of flow and have space to to curve around your wrist as well as lay flat you also need a little bit of room for your crimp cover too so you just want to have a small Gap here between the beads as well as a small gap on the clasp and I'm going to go and close this off like so and then cut off excess wire and then again you just want to add your crimp cover on the end I need to go to the store and go buy some I'm all out I'm having to kind of fish around for him a little bit here we go and so maneuver this this R and add my cover now when you have multiple strands on this it's a little bit tricky if you have one coming out of the same spot to maneuver your strands around when you're crimping you can do it you just have to kind of move things around a little bit so we have three strands on here now and they're all about the same length and when you move things around and close your clasp the beads are able to lay flat and they're not like pushing up against each other too much so so far this bracelet looks really good and again you just want to test out the clasp even halfway through and make sure it fits because if at this stage you would just want to make sure it fits at this stage so you don't have to start all over again with all of five strands you know cuz right now we have three and with each strand that you put on there it does make the bracelet tighter so I'm going to actually flip this around to demonstrate so you can see how it pulls the wires up when you're moving this clasp around to do this now it will make your bracelet um a little loose like I guess it's not super loose but better that because you need to have the room to maneuver this than too tight and it doesn't fit so again when you're taking this on and off it will pull up on your wires that's why you have the extra space all right so we have three strands I'm going to go ahead and do another one and also if you have any questions feel free to send me an email you can find me um at Andrea Beaver designs.com as well as Instagram Facebook and Pinterest so again I'm just going to go and lay this wire out across the top gives me an idea of how long I would like to have it so I have enough room to add the crimp and everything and I'm going to slide my crimp on First and I'm going to go around this Center hole I'm going to demonstrate how to do uh double wires so this hole here again is about 2 mm and I'm going slide my wire through and we'll do another strand here and again you want to have enough room between your wire and the clasp now when you're doing the double strand and one spot you do have to maneuver your tools around a little bit to get in there and reach you know just kind of moving it around to get around that other strand and there you go and cut off excess wire and add a crimp and for this strand because the one next to it is a little bit thicker I think I'm going to make it with some thinner beads and since it's in the middle on my wrist I'm going to add some gemstones so I'm adding my crimp around my crimp cover here and closing that down pinching it and as you're working again you just kind of have to put push the first strand out of the way but there's enough room for them to both sit here in the middle of this hole and you don't have to add one there I did on my bracelet to just give me a reason to add extra strands for more beads for more texture and uh for this one I'm going to add some Stone I'm going to add 5 mm amazonite I think I'm going to see if that will look good see I think that'll look good there um I get this Stone from Lima beads they have an amazing faceted Stone Collection to choose from in different colors and this one is just amazonite okay and going to go add some of these and they're not expensive at all and it's a great way to add stones to any bracelet for an affordable price and I like this color because it has a mixture of blue and Brown to it so it has kind of like a neutral tone plus it has some blue mixed in and this size is nice because it jumps off the wrist and it also um Blends well with the other size of beads um if it was too small they would probably hide under the other strands in this way it's um you can see it a little bit easier and a splash of color and the faucets add a sparkle to it I absolutely love faucets um on these smaller beads cuz it just gives you if you look like a hint of Sparkle right there and it's also subdued color so I feel like it's kind of like The Best of Both Worlds a little bit like a subtle Sparkle and again you want to keep going until this strand is as long as the other strands um all right almost there uh this project again takes probably a good 2 hours from start to finish depending on how many strands of beads you want to add okay so if I again I pull this I'm going to flip it over because it gives me it's easier to gauge from this direction from the back and I hold it up to the next strand again it's you do the best you can to measure side by side to see how long you need it it looks like I have one extra bead too much and again you just kind of put them next to each other to help you gauge um it's also the middle of the wrist sometimes the middle pulls on beads a little bit extra so sometimes you might need one extra bead to give you the length to go around your wrist so when I put these side by side it's almost to shorts right there so actually you're kind of in a spot right now where if you add one it might be slightly too long and if your short one it's too short see look how I put them right by each other all right so I'm going to go ahead and stop here actually you don't want to have the Strand Too Short it will pull on the wrist and the other strands will all be too long and then they'll jump off the rest so then it doesn't look like it fits so again I'm just going to go around here and go ahead and crimp it again and since they're sharing the same oh I forgot they're sharing the same space I need to put through the same space here it goes you just slide it next to the previous strand like so and Pull It in like so and crimp it down and again you just kind of want to pull in the wire we bring it up close to the um clasp there and then again samp poing it tight it's actually going to fit just fine and you want to leave it a bit of space for the wire to be able to go around the cuff like so and also have a little bit of space for the crimp to fit comfortably the crimp cover and for your beads to be able to slide up in down on the wire and not Bunch up so again I'm just double checking it before I crimp is it the same length is it too tight do my beads have enough space to curve comfortably okay once I've checked all those things then I can crimp it down um if you don't double check those and crimp them first then you'll have to cut this Strand and start all over again so um I'm going to tighten it up there just double check yep everything's good make sure I have enough room for the beads okay going to go ahead and crimp this down and again you'd have to kind of work around the previous wire so sometimes you just got to move it around a little bit to get your tools in there to crmp it down like so and I'm going to cut the extra wire off and add my crimp cover Crim cover doesn't want to go there it's okay I got another one so I'm going to go ahead crimp this on and again sometimes because the other wires are you just have to kind of maneuver it around a little bit but and there we go and pinch it down so you have two here in the center and again you have another hole so you could do one strand or do two strands if you want and they're all the same length everything is good I'm going to put it on my wrist again and just make sure everything will stay on and fit comfortably uh cuz the more strands you add the thicker your bracelet gets the tigh it will also be so again that's why you want to have a little extra length so I'm going to go ahead and try this sometimes it's hard to get this on onehanded by yourself oh that's because I have it flipped around whoops my bad yeah you want to make sure it's not flipped around because that'll eat eat up extra space too and there we go all right so I'm good and I still have a nice flexibility here on the wrist where it moves around and it's not too tight and it's comfortable so that is good and with two more holes left you're almost finished at this point so um that is how you make this bracelet and if you have any questions again feel free to let me know you can send me a message on one of my social media accounts or drop me an email um uh anytime that you have a question no problem this kit is available in my store and again it's a wood class with mixed gemstones and check glass thank you so much for hanging out with me today and for joining on today's video and have a great rest of your day [Music]
