fancy math that it measures the teams most deserving to compete for the title based on their resumés it would be of course two teams this year four teams beginning next year takes into account the ingame win probability that means the chances ingame of coming out on top it's been very high for example in Florida State's games difficulty on achieving that based on the team skill schedule perfect is 100 average is about 50 so we'll see how the championship Drive ratings would compare with the second edition of the BCS standings which are on the left Championship drive on the right they agree that Alabama is number one but Florida state gets credit for some quality of wins they number two Missouri and Stanford with losses ahead of Oregon and Ohio State by the way we're told in our projections that Florida State even by beating a number seven Miami team that won't be enough to jump over Oregon unless the pollsters change their minds and move for to State over in idle Oregon Paul as number three behind well I I love these fans here they're passionate but they're getting ahead of themselves and they should have listened to Jimbo fer a minute ago he's not sure they belong up there and I don't think they belong up there yet either I mean they're number three that's where they ought to be but beating Clemson is nice an impressive win beating Miami nice but it's in the ACC I don't think they're quite up to the Pack 12 level or even the SEC level what can they do though they can only play the ACC team well they just have to keep winning and winning big CH Paul Paul it as much as you can you can say whatever you want remember when they played Georgia who's in the SEC they played the Georgia that was healthy and they beat the at home so as much as people want to poo poo what they did against Clemson well Clemson's maybe not as good as we thought they did what they did against Georgia and Florida State went into the same climate and dominated that football game they've been the most dominant team the last three weeks in college football I think at some point you look at who they're playing they're up 35 nothing last week in the first quarter it's not their fault that NC State's not good 35 nothing I'm with you on that because it's it's one thing if you're not dominant it's it's another thing if you're just wiping everybody off the face of the planet and that's what Florida State doing and and the best quality win they went into Clemson and wiped them off the planet so I mean I I think that you have to look at if a team is continuing to dominate like they have you have to have alter respect for them and you have to keep building up because it ain't like they don't have athletes back here in Florida State they can go with any team in the country athlete for athlete how do you evaluate teams what are you looking at these are some tough choices posters have to make between these teams if they keep winning you know it's just like what Kirk said and what David said I I like to look at a team by the body of work that they do during the season against ranked teams especially teams who you really respect now that Florida State game we were at that game they dominated a Clemson team like you said Kurt that took care of business against Georgia the powerful Georgia you know before they got decimated with injuries so that's the most impressive win so far but I'm going to look at you know you look at a team like in Alabama they may have like really a three Game season you know Texas A&M um LSU and one more game that's about it and Auburn yeah iron B because Auburn is pretty good now the CH under G yeah mean regular season regular season so they have a three game regular season Virginia Texas lost to dke they haven't been the same michig beat them in a sugar bowl I mean they haven't been the same since Michigan beat them in the Sugar Bowl so that VCH wi you don't even really credit that one my question to you guys is why is Alabama ranked number one wait wait wait wait they've beaten three teams are good teams Virginia Tech Old Miss and andm and they have seven losses among them seven Oregon and Florida State have beaten good teams and only had three losses of gun them why I tell you why is Alabama because of reputation they're there because they they allowed they haven't allowed a point they haven't played anybody Old Miss is pretty good offense they two losses horrible horrible but shut out but again shut them out they're dominating Alabama's they haven't given up a point in the first half in the last six games we find their opponents about to someone we about to find out I don't have a problem with Alabama being number one I don't either be what about the standings what about teams like you got you got Stanford and Missouri in the championship Drive ahead of Ohio State the Buckeye fans would say wait a minute we just made our best statement of the Season we crushed a Penn State team that was being credit for being pretty good and they're nowhere you mentioned Ohio State I think we can agree that the Buckeyes they're pretty much the roty Dangerfield of this group they really are they're the roty danger field of this group they get no respect it's because they're in the Big 10 yeah you they haven't really played anybody they have not up to this point but what they did against Penn State if they would have been doing that against San Diego State and buffalo they would be in this discussion that was their first complete dominating football game they the team that needs the style points the most more than anybody I want to say one thing about he said he played a great team in LSU LSU's lost two already if they beat him hey they're not even ranking the top 10 but LSU is not a great football team this year they have been a great football team yes that's right they lost to an all Miss team that you said was no good though they are all right well well no nobody's any good in college football this year everybody's got not everybody Oregon doesn't have look I was about all the experts on this on this panel but I'm not sure you guys have seen any college football this year because Alabama is clearly the best team coach it's the eye test you know it When You See It coach and I know they're the best team in the country we just didn't we just say we didn't have a problem 12 is a deep and surprising conference what if Baylor beats Oklahoma keeps marching out wins all those games are you going to deny Baylor where would you put them Baylor is right now is TBD because what they've done is against the bottom tier the 12 if they beat Oklahoma right away they start to get into this discussion and get serious and then theyve got Oklahoma State in Texas Tech and Texas if they run the table Baylor becomes a serious thre is there aing with B depends on what happens it depends I think there's a sealing if Alabama and Florida State and or keep winning there's definitely aing I think I think I think Baylor and I've said this I think Baylor could jump Ohio State and should jump Ohio State the Rodney Danfield they will jump Ohio there's no doubt about that exactly prob they have a one lost team jump Ohio State but Stanford doesn't belong ahead of Ohio State even though we're saying this about Ohio State Stanford has no business being talked about over not listed on Danny Sheridan's list of the top five for Heisman Trophy in terms of odds Marcus Mariota even money jamus Winston here second choice trying to be a second consecutive red sh freshman at 7even to5 Manzel last year's wi down to 15 to1 same as AJ McCarron and Bryce Petty although that could change again the last month of the Season these massive games will influence things Paul fine best freshman I have ever seen almost as good as Johnny Manzel actually a little better than Manzel but Manzel is better than him this year Mariota would be second and my High's been winner right now I think he's played better than anyone I think he's more valuable than anyone he's the most outstanding player that's what the award says Chris is Johnny Manzel so Paul I I got to ask you what has he done to change from being a punk and and from being a guy that was kind of a Justin Bieber of college football because he's playing the same as he did a year ago when you were obviously pretty critical of him well Chris I was critical of him what he did in the off season not what he did last year I voted for him number one last year in the Heisman I think he has answered the bell I think he's answered critics like me and shut people like me up and he's gone out and played brilliantly he has led his team I know they've lost two games gam but it's not because of him he has led this team as well as any player I've seen this year in college football that's why he gets my vote you know you could almost say that he's played is he had some turnovers in the Alabama game but he's played very very well in those games where they were challenged I I look at Marcus Mariota and I just think he's the best player in college football in 2013 he would be up at the top I would have jamus Winston because of the intangibles and the numbers that he's putting and then right there at that point Johnny Manzel AJ McCarron deserves a lot of recognition too that's what I want to talk about why doesn't AJ McCarron get up he's got 16 touchdowns three interceptions he wins all the games he get number one quarterback on number one team in America and he gets no votes Harley AJ McCaron why I have no idea I'm in the same boat with you I'm baffled by it and for people to look at Manzel and I like Manzel you know he's the highman trophy winner we're in the same fraternity but I got to keep it 100 when he went head-to-head with AJ McCaron Manzel threw two costly picks in that game it was a shootout he threw one that was a pick six so he gave points to the other team and then he threw another pick in the red zone to a freshman he should have threw it to Mike Evans he threw it to a freshman that cost his team points and AJ McCarron that game four touchdowns no ints they went head to-head why are people still trying to put uh AJ McCarron up under Johnny Manzel it baffles me coach I think he should be a top three guy and right now I would give it to Mariota if we had to give the award to day Marcus Mariota would win the Heisman but Stanford's the Kenna defense that can wreck a Heisman campaign Sean Manion of Oregon state was a candidate Sanford completely derail his campaign and of course he lost again last night but the next seven days you got Bryce Petty Who's down in the list but if he lights up Oklahoma marota obviously at Stanford nobody knows better than Dez but all this talk right now is fun but really the next five weeks somebody's going to have a moment somebody's going to have a game in a high-profile moment and they're going to end up winning the Heisman Trophy right right now could all change in in a week or two like last year Manzel had a Heisman game that was it that was it he woned one game he woned well like you RG3 gets a vote and he was watching our show and uh we were interviewing art bals earlier and he says can't I vote for two Baylor Bears Lake C stru and P now you cannot split your vote you got to pick one it it'll hurt your guys but I mean so so Paul fine bomb he say who doesn't vote that's what I want to know like who does not have a vote it's just incredible the amount of people who vote for the highest to me it's 972 I think they've dropped it down well used to be way over a thousand in another year so they're trimming it down keep trimming it keep hey cutting it down
