when does the season start for you is it the day after the bowl game is done is it tur time what is the start of the season the start of the Season it was when we got our Bowl announcement we depend on physicality everybody understand what we doing today yes sir I be able to look in your eyes and see everything you B today I don't give a about playing an SEC football team I don't give a where they came from what I care about is you change the way people think about you by how you don't [ __ ] play the game we always see our bowl game as being a movie trailer for what the next season is going to be about play everying play today to the finish and go dominate your opponent turn on three 1 2 3 go to work the Maryland terens are trying to do something they've never done before in school history when a third consecutive bowl game [Applause] they want to finish the season on the right note but also a glimpse into the future position today what do you want to see from Billy and Cameron you know what I told both those guys man this system is bulletproof a lot of great players have played in it we've recruited him for it just operate the system Edwards clapping his hands in that pistol set plenty of time dumps it off to MB MB slips The Tackle and Green Turf in front of him inside the and it's Edwards himself touchdown what an opening possession been perfect on third down on the third and goal Edwards to the end zone touchdown there Octavian Smith with him in the back field Edge wants to load up he's got him man down there great thrd Eli Mason in the back field and throws to the end zone Victory formation for the Maryland ter PES we finished the last three years eight and five8 and five s and six we're stuck right there to get the [ __ ] 10 wins and to make the playoffs you got to do everything right man you got to do everything right it's going to be twice to three times as hard for us to make the playoff we thing guys been in for the last three years have seen how hard it is to win fuing eight games it's hard but I'm going just tell you you can't do the same [ __ ] and expect a different result we can't we got to ramp this [ __ ] up everybody understand me I'm ready to go ready to go lock in with me lock in with me I think we've got one of the best training facilities in the country Monday through Friday is a commitment to getting these guys better and it takes place early mornings and late nights in here if you are happy with anything that we've done in this program and here's what I have to tell you you're in the wronging place today we are close to what we want meet it with a sense of urgency and let's get the work the way that it's supposed to be done here's the magic the the magic is how can I get people to want to do the things that normal people don't want to do like how can I get them to do that [Music] number 30 welcome to Helly W it's where we work how can I get people to feel like if they're not a part of this and they got F y'all some certified dancers in DMB though Li this [ __ ] more like kamerie let him in I want y how all this energy do this is really it's the foundation of everything we do for the Year this is where we figure out what type of team we have we start to shape our identity we don't have to we get to I have a haircut in a couple weeks TP time haircut don't wor even at your priorities [Music] every day I got to look at myself in the mirror and I got to ask myself that question like did I give today my all did I get did I get somebody today I approach every day with Reckless abandonment and what I mean by that is just like don't think about nothing just give it your all nobody in college football will outwork me and I say that with all humbleness in me I don't care who you are who you where you from you know what I'm saying I make it my personal mission to outwork everybody I got asked a question the other day somebody asked me somebody say hey man you know you wake up so early in the morning they be like you you you ever get up and you tired like you feel me you ever get up like you sleepy no never when I wake up in the morning first thing I think about my mama that's the first thing I think about I think about my M I think about this team and when after I do that they wake me right up so usually you get in pretty early um we'll be around the building in that office in there we're right above the defensive line room and it's pretty common to hear music bumping pretty loud in there Jordan Phillips is sitting in there watching tape uh I don't know that I've ever seen a kid his age watch as much tape as he does I can't see anything I can't hear anything but what's on this screen I'm visioning myself as whoever I'm watching film on you know they just made a great play I'm I'm visioning that for me do I want to be in the NFL of course I do more than anything in this world but right now I'm focused on attacking what's in front of me right now in this moment I take a lot of Pride and not letting my teammates down just understanding what I want for this program and what I want for myself and for my teammates that's what drives me every day in terms of my preparation now we're a program that that works hard and we embrace the grind it's 5:36 in the morning we headed the T time when it's easy you don't see who people really are you don't get to see how people respond to adversity wake that [ __ ] up we waking it up this time of year fix your body a little bit in the business of creating chaos for these players mom and dad you're watching this isn't very fun but it is worth it though it is worth it what do you think all this is for when the when I walk up as a defense alignment and I see the offens line like this after play what you thinking t t so I'm going tell you that little voicey going to say bend over and that's when you got to be strong enough to say [ __ ] that I'm standing tall and I'm giving an illusion like that's right all game wrong how do you get the best athletes in your program to do the hardest things and you've been in here with us it gets really hard to explain to people if you're not in there with it your knees out what happened during that LIF today well they I can't really tell you because I felt it more than I saw and I think this team when you get to be around them and you get to be in the room with them you start to kind of feel some of that magic when in there the offseason is the time where it'll make or break a program and for us I think it it's making our program I
