locations in the world let alone for college football and you will see plenty of buffalos roaming here what a game and what potential drama we have in store you've seen this script before top 10 team goes into a cauldron of emotion on the road and just hopes to be able to get out and tell about it as we'll see the number six team in the country the Alabama Crimson TI taking on a team from the Big 12 the Colorado buffal for EA Sports college football ree Davis with you alongside David poock and Jesse Palmer time to get this game started Alabama about to kick off to get things started and he takes this from inside the five nice job executing all of the assign [Music] to that return at the [Music] 22 here's his offense with a fresh set of downs [Applause] wide receiver now comes in motion touch pass on the Jet Sweep runs through the tackle building moment piing up a chunk of moving CH out the4 yeah way to be creative way to get the ball in the perimet really quickly get some speed outside all you got to do is secure that edge and just trying to get that first down nice job nice play call by the offense lining up from the 34 on first down and off from the shotgun a seven yd pickup it'll be second and three and the buffal want to move quickly they'll give it to the back one step W twep squeeze this junior knows how to get him on the ground I like feeding my guy I like running back touches feeding the ball so he can break some of those big runs but I'm also okay with these little ones set the tone stay balanced come to the line at the 42 facing a third and short with jet swe pass mhm that defensive front just flat whipped as they knock him down for a big L how about that you don't see those you know touch passes go for negative yards very often usually is a short flip that counts as a completion that goes a long way but the defense aggressive saw it pulled the trigger came outside made sure he didn't get outside and get to that edge nice job by the [Applause] defense they're throwing for it on fourth down makes the catch he's got enough and they'll move the chains and get it to the 4 Y Line that's a great example of the receiver knowing exactly where the first down marker is he got the depth he needed to get so once he was able to make the catch he already knew he had it now fresh set of downs running back goes in motion quick pass on the Fly motion finally R out of bounds but he has this off rolling with a first down this offense has a lot of different ways they can to see the entire Playbook at work in this game throwing it running it and getting guys the ball out on the perimeter great [Applause] job looking to move it through the air and boy was that pressure in his face immediately down he goes this defense has the ability to get pressure on the QB from The Edge and don't necessarily mean from defensive ends but from the outside linebackers these guys get in their Sprinter stances and they come off the ball that outside linebacker showed you his speed right there they bring him down but a solid pick up to put them in position to pick up a first down a third down play to open up this [Applause] quarter looking to throw it's Sanders working the middle it's and he couldn't quite get to the marker and that's going to bring up a fourth down hey really nice job on defense too understanding the situation it's third down we're fine giving up completions right there but we're not giving up the first down we're keeping the football and the ball carrier in front of us and we're tackling the catch awesome job and now you've set up fourth down they don't seem comfortable with the 50yd field goal attempt so they'll leave the offense out to try to get the first down [Music] a little too anxious along that offensive line that'll be a false start so the decision has been made in the penalty and the buffalos will go for it on fourth down [Music] [Applause] movement on the offensive line that's going to be a false start and they'll walk it back mental errors like that just kill drives we'll see if they can overcome it the Buffalo line up to punt it away he ought to be able to use this first punt to pin him deep oh hell no signal goes into the air and he makes the fair catch at the [Applause] 10 first down here for the offense leaves it with the running back Hammer ahead for a yard out to the 12 all right well the offense here they're trying to get this run game established they obviously don't break off a long run there but they're just trying to find their footing at this point didn't get much on first down it's second and N motion by the back forces the defense to adjust take a quick break here two minutes to play in the first half they line up and it is a long way to the from here looking for a man it's milro got it set up on the outside he gets it oh close to the first down Mar but I think he's going to be a TCH short one of the things I love about this defense they just have such great awareness and they're always communicating they understood the down and distance they knew exactly what they needed to do to make the tackle to force the punt that is so well done yeah I think those quarterback sneaks used to be for the big strapping quarterbacks but man nowadays dude all you got to do is fall forward and it's such a hard play to stop so you see this all across all levels of football and it's just a difficult play to stop quarterback extends the play and he'll skip his way out of bounds after a short gain making sure he doesn't take any unnecessary punishment and that's a pretty good job by this defense man it's so hard to limit these quarterbacks and they're spreading you out all over the field when they take to limit the damage nice job limiting the damage and I tell you what make it physical finish those plays and try to tackle that guy and make him oh look out he's at the 30 the 10 he is down at the one a terrific run after the throw and catch well after that last play you can see how electrifying this guy is and how special he is after he makes the catch if I'm on offense I'm trying to find a lot of ways to get him touches in this game I'm trying to power it in they bring him down and he's going to lose a yard on that one timeout call by the defense it's their first of the half as they'll make some adjustments and the D deny them on second and goal tries again to get it in really nice stop there for this senior leader the Big Fellas line up in a goal line [Applause] defense he'll go to the sneak wedges pushes and he's over and in for the touchdown and that is exactly what you want from your offense man late in the half you want to execute and then punch it in physically on the ground Take the Lead going into the half take all the momentum nice the drive by that offense they'll try to add another to their lead and the P makes it seven nothing got the late touchdown on the board now about to kick it away and hoping the defense can keep them from [Applause] answering and he's coming out of the end zone I know he thinks he can house every return but sometimes you just have to take a knee as he stopped at the yeah make sure y y subscribe the offense set for a first down [Applause] play dropping back it's Sanders [Applause] out of bounds but not before turning in a big pick up and moving the sticks for a first down nice job by the QB receiver on this play a two-minute situation knowing to work the boundary get the first down and get the ball out of that great situational awareness this defense will try to keep everything in front throws for the tight end pass is incomplete and we dwindle down to S seconds end of the first half that's exactly what you want to do you don't care about the incompletion you're chucking that thing up trying to make a big play trying to get the hell Mar just a few seconds remaining here as they try to put something up before halftime quarterback flips in head quickly to the receiver he's close to the first down but they're going to Mark him just a little short they want to get the ball back right up kick I don't [ __ ] what he got it [Applause] too oppon the Le but they're Johnny on the spot and now their offense is looking their chops hoping to go down and score excuse me and he use that big powerful stiff arm to EXT the and pick up a few exra yard you want to talk about making it easy for an offensive coordinator you pick up a bunch of yards on first down make that second down really really manageable that's a great job by the offense that kind of pick up on first down and you can take a shot here on second and short he'll pitch went importantly they got the first they've been getting pushed around up front this game and haven't created a lot of lanes to run the football but you needed it you needed that first down you needed to get the sticks moving you need to run some clock so good job by the offense finding a little bit of space to get the first [Applause] down and not much going on downi you just get rid of it and to play another down another incompletion and I've said that a lot and these teams are I mean the offense just doesn't know what to do nothing's working ground game Throw game it's kind of been a rock fight on both sides quarterback floating away from pressure he's got it nice pitch and catch there and they'll have enough for the first down one of the things that makes this quarterback so dangerous is how accurate he can be when he's on the run and he's a guy that's looking to throw he's not looking to take off himself space get positive yards it's instead of running the ball a couple yards up the middle now spit it out wide and a lot of times if you break a few tackles it could be even bigger using his legs it's haes they get him on the ground at the three yd line but this defense is taking some punches and you know when we talk about great third down defenses it really starts with them getting stops on first and second you've got to get those stops early in the drives to set up third and long so that's a missed opportunity on that second down by this defense you don't know what supp to do it'll be on down sh to the right yard all how about the defender being a heat seeking missile he was on radar lock he found the football and flew down with some bad intentions going to try to pop one on the screen he will step out of bounds but not before the big pick up and a first down for this offense a new set of downs after the completion the give to the running back from the shotgun a that's TTY all whatever we got let me get this one offense with a fresh set of downs from the gun running back gets to give he's knocked down in the back field he'll lose a couple man oh man and it's a play like that a tackled by the linebacker that just galvanizes and energizes your entire team I mean the sideline even David they were going crazy [Applause] no [ __ ] way I think I thought all right usually a good starting point for a great defense I know it wasn't an interception but a lot oftimes inter great by the defend getting his on the foot on Third and trying to have a big here oh yeah p [Applause] we all want to push the ball down the field down the field down the field but when you can dump it off to your running back and still make 10 plus yards man it makes you look like a really good play call on fourth down they're taking throw the ball thrs the B right to the grounde hey coming that's what I'm talking about bro like every time we get the first ball I'm fing detriment moving forward if you want to stay aggressive be that way throughout the course of the game this the to the tail in way you want to make sure to maximize those types of runs and he gets it out to the 41 I like this guy as a running back because between the tackles and he can also go outside he can really do it all to the air it's mne looking to the big tight end wide open down field tackle is made after the first down well the defenses in man coverage the problem is they don't have guys that can match up from a size speed standpoint with this tight end so the QB found the right match up was able to hit him on the corner route it's a big play for this offense now on first down from the 4 three he'll ride his man on the option now the toss and they just didn't getbody on that defense out of will that listen I know there are a lot of DVS out there that all they want to do is get interceptions and dance in the end zone this dude likes to put his face in the fan get close to the line of scrimmage and tackle and on the opening drive if he's out there he gets a huge tackle for loss early that is a the and out I wish he do that shucking midle we read that [ __ ] you seen that [ __ ] right perfect coverage and nice job bringing the big guy down not easy to do he's looking to throw fires left he's got these [ __ ] [Music] up spot and that's exactly what he did to pick up the first down and don't get this [ __ ] oh no [ __ ] way warning they'll the first and no way he's dragging your big the look that [ __ ] he was not going down bro he's half your si tries again to get it in a strong tackle and wrap up from the junior timeout called here by the defense it's their first of the half huge play in the Red Zone Third and goal coming up tries to Surge ahead on the sneak wedges pushes and he's over and in for the touchdown on to attempt the try and the extra point makes it seven nothing they put it in the end zone with a 12pl scoring drive and it was finished off with the quarterback [Applause] sneak the returner will field it and bring it back really dis job by the cover to down there at [Music] the I hate when they do that [ __ ] like just get stuck all together what the [ __ ] is all that blob right there offense rolls onto the field they've got it back after that last Drive stalled out stopped on D yeah and they aie nobody can get [ __ ] over moment like I think they need to Contin being agressive moving forward next after the quarterback and receiver couldn't connect it's second and 10 to the it's mil on right didn't up there moved it Forward just a few Indie Car tempo as they head to the line for this third down play clock running got it in the middle it's here's a timeout as this off tries to find a way to draw a little closer this dude is just exceptional in every facet so fluid such a great route Runner and a big play there and money down third down find him I mean you want to find that match up because he's going to win and gets a good release gets down the field you see his that's your playmaker that's your guy get it to him get the first down Alabama pushing the tempo they'll throw it on first down come on and he was drilled just as he released the pass incoe doesn't take this defense a lot of time to get to the quarterback man they've got speed all over the place they hit him so quickly and because of the ball Falls trying to push it down field he was looking for a receiver trying to make a play to tell the pressure started to get to him a little bit nowhere to go with the football just fights back to the line ain't no [ __ ] way and he was just a couple of steps away from taking that one even further after the catch they'll use a timeout right before half maybe time for one or two more four QB the my team [Applause] zero well you ain't doing [ __ ] trying to find his man on first down unloads to the wide out a minute ass falls incomplete and there are still 3 seconds left sometimes a quarterback just needs to turn the ball loose it was like trying to aim it you really really miss you know unes one deep to [Applause] the let the [ __ ] [Applause] down cool we got Alabama ready to put a boot to it to start the second half he'll it back ain't no way the line no way just barely able to only from scoring Iowa has it back on offense hoping to ride the wave to the end zone going to the run to start this second half and he's a real Nowhere Man tackled in this no gain land hey man for the three that's watching y goes to the option you pitch it nice [Applause] move the greatest run in the world but it was very successful and you're making me honor the run another every time you run the football someone gets tackled there's physicality involved in the game so I like when offenses commit to the offense find different ways to get this running back involved it's not just going to be on handoffs and they're certainly going to line him up in different places and even throw him the football but sledding has been tough scores have been at a premium Jesse in every possession seems like it could switch to momentum of the game yeah re for this offense just feels like they just haven't been as physical for this offensive coordinator David he's having to go deep into the playb just to try to generate a first down and the good thing is there's not a ton of game pressure cu the other side scoring either but if you can find that one thing that get that one positive play and then maybe you get those juices going and something can start the build Alabama they'll break the seal on this quarter here on first down he's looking to throw it they're trying to get to him he's going to take off he's R out of bounds but not before tur a b pick up and moving the sticks for a first down when you're trailing in the fourth quarter it's it's so hard to get Drives together because enem by and he read that [ __ ] too oh that would have been bad whoever the [ __ ] I'm playing is the [ __ ] this defend when the ball's thrown like that the receiver catches it and he's catching it going so fast and you could tell the defense couldn't quite get the right angles and he does the rest uses his behind you you got to see what this defense has been doing to be so successful caller now use it against yeah David I think for a play caller this is tough right it's like you have to get the perfect play on just to get a first down in these types of games I think you're just trying to get guys out in space see if a dude can break a tackle maybe that generates an explosive play and it breaks this trend we've reached the twoin warning in this offense trying to milk this clock and keep time on their side I'd expect we're going to get another dose of the running game at this point even though yeah a really good job with the misdirection right bringing somebody's One Direction so speed the defense react now you bring another guy the other direction hard to see one and then react to the other especially with that kind of speed on the field that's why you had a big play a first down run in the Red Zone they bring him down and he's going to lose a yard on that one timeout called by the
