Intro Premier League weekend number two has just occurred let's break it down Brighton vs Man United Saturday's early fixture saw Brighton beat United 2-1 uh shock horror Brighton besting United it's not really that much of a shock when you consider that the manager and the team are better ex- United Striker Danny Welbeck put the home side in front with doo then later equalizing from a really quality cutting from that left hand side United thought they did take the lead through gacho however xery was kind enough to be on the line to disallow the goal for an offside with his knee is unfortunate he probably couldn't get out of the way but it is pretty hilarious to be fair for all the other neutral fans then later on J Pedro stepped up in the 95th minute a really late one for Brighton who moved into that forward Striker position after Welbeck was subbed off for in ciso and he was left completely wide open at the back post for a header the key stat of the game not really a stat but I just want to emphasize how bad United are eight defenders in the box when jel Pedro scored that header three players at the back post completely unmarked that that is that is something for sure kicking off our 3pm fixtures we Spurs vs Everton saw Tottenham take on Everton and they um came out of this one 4-nil Victors over Everton another pretty tough defeat for Everton fans to take and the result really did reflect the performance as well Spurs were dominant throughout this one from start to finish taking um the lead through a strike from basuma who you know was suspended last week for just having a good time seemingly um and this week comes back with an absolute rocket hung Minon extended the lead through a Jordan pford error and you can't really blame pford because he does lack brain cells Romero and then son again furthered lead for Spurs with vanen we probably the assist of the Season thus far running basically doing 100 meter dash in order to play it up nicely for hyung minson for that fourth goal Everton find themselves in a difficult spot at the moment two games in two losses and it doesn't really look as though they have any creativity even with the signings that they've brought in of Lindstrom and D Etc and in this one 21.5% of their attempted passes were long balls which obvious that's one in five and so it's obvious where they're going and against a team that's pacy strong like tottenham's defense is it's just not going to work they really need these backup plans to to be in place sooner or later they are going to have to find some groove or momentum otherwise the teams that are on top of them the weight from them are going to become too heavy and they could be in real trouble real quick we also saw Palace vs West Ham Palace take on West Ham where West Ham emerged as away Victors two goals to nil and it was a good contest between these two European hope for BS with Palace really having the better of the chances in the first half however West Ham came into it in the second half with an unlikely Source Thomas such who you know starting birth is probably in danger with the rampant summer business of West Ham he slotted home nicely for West Ham before Jared Bowen then later scored a really really nice goal for West Ham again a nice Cut in from from um the wide flank and Bowen was the most threatening player in the this game finishing with five key passes for West Ham obviously three of those were corners but I think that just demonstrates how even with the sum of business West Ham have done they've still got someone who has the quality of you know a top six top four Winger in Jared Bowen touching on Palace obviously not the start that they wanted or anticipated two losses on the bounce however the good news for them in this one they did have chances to do damage so they'll be looking to take it into the next one and improve Southampton took on Nottingham Southampton vs Forest Forest at St Mary's with Gibbs white giving the visitors the lead from a really Scrappy goal from a second cross really from from a corner and you could see in this one forest's counterattacking style of play really suiting um southampton's sort of possession style it really counteracted that really nicely in this one similar to the game last week for Southampton against Newcastle with 64.6% possession they still struggle to knit attacks together with only five shots in the game comparative to forests 23 from much less possession that indicates that we're really seeing this Southampton style of play not quite click for this group against this quality of opposition they're really going to need to find a plans B and C if they want to stay up this year another Fulham vs Leicester 3pm fixure saw Fulham take on Leicester and Fulham emerg two1 Victors in this one and I was quite impressed with their style of play a really good uh performance against Leicester Emil Smith Row open the scoring and you could see how much it meant to him um it's really good to see him perform well after you know in and out of the team obviously Arsenal last year barely featured for them really Leicester did equalize through a first half towering header from Vace after vardy was cleared of potential interference um on the potential offside call for Leicester later in the game another ex Arsenal player Alex aobi secured all three points for fullam with a somewhat unconvincing finish but it still got the job done for for the goal and for fulam to get all three points in this one a stat emphasizing leicester's sort of failed efforts in this one they lost possession in their own defensive half 47 times either through careless possession building out from the back Etc or from attempted long balls similar to these other teams that have come up they they're going to need another plan to beat these teams because it's just not quite enough just to have route a as your only option title contenders took Man City vs Ipswich on relegation candidates with a city taking on ipswitch here in game week number two but the tables were flipped initially with ips switch taking a 1- nil lead early in the game Samy schox got that one and you can see why IP switch bought him from Blackburn in the summer barely a week ago now he's got really tidy finish on him and that is probably going to be crucial with the half chances that are going to fall their way against tougher opposition in the Premier League fortunately for City the anticipated script resumed with saevinho drawing a penalty from Leaf Davis Holland then stepped up to take the penalty for City and of course he scored IPS switch's goalkeeper sumers signing Mich had a bit of a stinker for the city's second and third goals leaving an open goal for de bruyne from some really shoddy play and then also being found basically in no man's land for Holland to slot into a second open goal of the day City continued to Pepper IP switch like a stew IP switch's only sort of Route again similar to the other teams we've seen this week with long ball attempts 14.6% of their passes were long ball attempts and those attempts ultimately just allowed City to keep putting on the pressure with Holland in the second half making it a hat-- trick on gameweek number two for him and this is the harsh reality for IP switch even with this newly promoted motivation you know you can see all the energy in the team and the fans it's going to be so hard for them to pick up points uh let alone the 40 hit the 40 point mark that they're going to need to in order to stay in the league the late Saturday game Saw Villa vs Arsenal Arsenal travel to and defeat Aston Villa two goals to nil Aston Villa have proved previously to be a road bump for the Gunners so this will feel like a really important win it was a while before we saw the deadlock broken with Ole Watkins missing a seemingly very easy chance before the difference maker trossard who came on for Martinelli broke proceedings by an opposite goal um drive to beat Emmy Martinez I have honestly no idea how trossard is not starting ahead of Martinelli he's quite clearly got twice the ability in my opinion Arsenal sked all three points from a somewhat unlikely Source in Thomas party with a really nice drive and kind of a bit of a funball save from Emmy Martinez but Thomas party had a really overall solid game with five of his six t tackles interceptions and recoveries occurring in Villa's half for Arsenal it's arguably a statement win with quite clearly an improved result and performance from the last time they visited Villa Park and now you join meet a little bit later on the Sunday to talk Bournemouth vs Newcastle about Bournemouth who took on Newcastle at the Vitality stadium and it was a one0 draw to verer opened the scoring with some really poor defending at the back post from livero I don't know whether it was effort or just he fell asleep but a really bad one one for one to forget for him Anthony Gordon drew the magpie's level with a really nice assist from fellow Winger Harvey Barnes both teams would want to be on top in this one but it was Newcastle who edged out Bournemouth for possession with 60.7% of The Possession both sides though will feel disappointed about only taking the one point from this one now Wolves vs Chelsea we come to the spiciest game of the Premier League thus far wolves 2 Chelsea 6 before the game things got under way with Moki um Moki posting on social media saying that wolver Hampton was effectively um another word for poop um which is always a good good way to uh get the home fans on your side but it was Nicholas Jackson who opened the scoring for Chelsea and he didn't help either by celebrating towards the home fans and that created a bit of animosity between the two teams later then CA scored and had some had some words for Jackson That's for short and again things sort of kicked off as the teams headed for their third kickoff of the game before halftime throughout the first half chel really showed their immaturity with silly challenges constant complaining however maybe that helped them in the game because after Cole Palmer got booked for complaining he wolves waste a free kick Sanchez takes a quick goal kick and the ball comes over to Jackson Who lobs it over the defender Palmer then lobs it beautifully over Jose SAR to open his account for this season before anyone's heart rates had settled down wolves scored an equalizer through strand lass and who finished a nice sort of a return cross from the right hand side post halftime that man madai stepped up and scored a 14-minute hattick between the 49th and 63rd minute I think and all three goals were fairly straight forward powerful drives from the right hand side towards that left hand side of the goal first one was deflected but the other two were were prettier and all three of these goals came with the Helping Hand of Cole Palmer who secured three assists to madai for his hat-- trick becoming one of a select few sort of Duos who have managed that feat in the Premier League Chelsea's Sixth and final goal came from Ry xia Felix who slotted away after an assist from Pedro Netto returning to wolves in this one the key start of course not really a key start one social media post one hattick madai have yourself a day son the last fixture Liverpool vs Brentford of gameweek number two saw Liverpool hosting brenford for arnor slot's first home game of the season leis Diaz got proceedings underway with a top left corner composed finish however brenford did remain a threat throughout that first half and it was brenford who came close early in the second half with Allison making quite a short distance save and then like a volleyball kind of slap to get the ball out of danger for Liverpool however after that moment Liverpool really turned the screw on the bees Salah doubled the Reds leads after a barrage of chances and shots on target that goal for Salah meant that he overtook Robbie Fowler in terms of total goals at anfield once Liverpool reached that two- goal cushion it was game over for brenford Liverpool finished the game with 19 shots eight shots on Target and I wanted to highlight leis Diaz an aspect of his game that is quite often underrated he had four recoveries in Liverpool's defensive half and it's not really spoken about very much in terms of his work ethic when he he's being compared to other Liverpool Wingers or other Wingers in the Prem it's really rare to have a Winger with such flare whilst also having that work ethic to Outro complement it and there we have it another Premier League game week rounded up number two this time another 36 to go just a small number for you since you enjoyed
