let's head to the voicemail of Truth and reason hi this is Rico I was watching a few clips of jamus Winston miked up during the first pre-season game and I would run through a wall for that guy he has so much positive energy and he truly wants everybody on the team to be successful in my opinion this is exactly who and what Watson needed to be the calming presence during choppy Waters I mean I I for one am truly happy and grateful that he is on the team just as a fan so I can imagine how the players feel with all that being said though I don't want to see him at all taking Snaps during the regular season unless it's a blowout thanks go Browns as always appreciate all of the voicemails you never want to see the backup quarterback uh but I feel better about um Winston I've heard numerous people that that he has played with they ask him his best teammate of all time and they don't hesitate it's jamus Winston yeah and and we touched on it he's he's the perfect sounding board for Watson and you couldn't find another highlevel backup who at the end of the day could like relate to the starting quarterback on a personal level you know coming in all the Limelight jamus has been known since he was 17 years old number one high school recruit you know Heisman winner National Champion number one draft pick all the spotlight on him has had some trials and tribulations but has come out on the other side better for it like that's the type of guy that you need Watson's corner someone who's just going to uplift him and be able to kind of help him navigate everything but don't make don't make any mistake it's jamus Winston's a highlevel quarterback still he's one of the very few backup quarterbacks in the NFL that could get out there and throw for 4,000 yards throw for 30 touchdowns you know be the reason why you win games now of course you want to see Watson start and finish the season that's that that's a priority but if something were to happen I think you're in very good hands with jamus Winston the way that I would couch that is I think he's one of the best 32 quarterbacks in the NFL which means there's places that he can start and uh and win games
