Well, it may be hot here but it's already snowing in one part of the country. The Sierra Nevada Mountains in California saw a rare August dusting of snow this weekend. It wasn't much but just enough for ski fan fans to start getting excited about carving up the slopes. This video is taken at Palisades Tahoe Ski Resort, other high elevation areas of the Sierras also receive flurries, come on the snow out there. Meanwhile, we'll be sweating bullets. You know, you feel sorry for the kiddos. You, a lot of schools don't have air conditioning, you, right. So you may, you, I'm not gonna say it but dare I say some administrators may consider, yeah, cancel things. I mean, this is a safety concern at this point. I mean, we do have uh just a week long of above average temperatures. It's the humidity that's really gonna give us some problems uh, each afternoon and some of those thunderstorms again could be on the stronger side. So the humidity, the heat and storms, that's something we have to worry about and really, really track all week long. So as this is why I left you off with uh earlier in the show triple digit heat indices. Uh, and then we're gonna be looking at some poor air quality we've already experienced that. That's typically a by product of just stagnant air along with the humidity and the heat, uh, to get prepared for some poor air, air quality. And also just limit your time outdoors. Uh, school is starting and a lot of outdoor activities. Again, we're not looking at a repeat of that heat wave we had earlier in the season, but this is gonna be a distant second and just how long is gonna last. That's the biggest impact and where we're gonna have to really track here through going throughout the next 4 to 5 days. So here, see overall set up folks, we have this high pressure system in the Tennessee Valley and that's gonna be establishing itself. You just notice the absence of clouds, any type of rainfall have heat alerts, dozens of them posted all throughout the Upper Midwest and throughout the Southern Great Lakes region. Nothing for us, but that could be changing. But the National Weather Service is putting everyone on stand by and getting prepared. Not only when it comes to the heat, I wanna highlight where the jet stream is located. It has lifted way up to the north and this is pretty much gonna be the highway for those afternoon, thunderstorms. It's gonna be feeding off all the humidity that's gonna remain in place. So, pretty much as we go through our time here, things are gonna be heating up right under this heat dome and as the heat continue to bubble up for us, the humidity is gonna lay down the tracks for showers and thunderstorms. Beginning Tuesday afternoon, then again Wednesday afternoon, then just rounds of storms as we get closer to the late week as well and notice the heat is remaining, we're gonna be just on the outer rim of all the impressive heat and humidity and that's gonna give us that pattern of on and off thunderstorms. So let's get you out the door for your Monday, starting on a mild and humid note, upper sixties low to mid seventies around the, uh, mid afternoon hours, we're gonna be warming back up into the upper eighties. Here's your national design, right? Hourly forecast going through our time around lunch time already in the mid eighties, upper eighties, 89 degrees for overall temperature. Now, let's talk about these storms because we've already established and declared Tuesday as a weather impact alert day rounds of storms. And as of right now, we're looking at heavy downpours some of these storms again throughout the summer season, that's gonna be feeding off the humidity. They're gonna be lasting longer and could be blowing some, some damaging winds in our direction if not get prepared for the humidity to make it feel closer to the century mark. So let's time things out with this first wave of showers and storms is gonna be arriving. This is 6 a.m. Tuesday, approaching midday as of right now. This is the going timeline. Just a cluster, a complex of showers and thunderstorms and this severe weather threat could be bringing some damage, wind gusts and also some large sized hail. We'll catch a break, then we do it all over again come Wednesday. So keep a close eye to the weather forecast. Folks, things are gonna be changing. Here's your new home mortgage, 10 day outlook, upper eighties, low nineties all weekend long then. Labor Day weekend. Hey, back to more seasonal conditions. Upper seventies to low eighties.
