what do you want for breakfast bagel bagel selecting a bagel I don't know how it's folds up here you try to stuff stuff that in there I'm going to defate the other piece okay that it's easy yeah oh super easy you want a face wipe uh yeah that sounds nice like usually if I can't get a shower in I like to at least do this yeah if you want to I can get those full body wipes and we can take full body showers later we should got fresh Bagels I know I saw them uh did they have them no [Music] croissant assembly is not included in this uh bed and breakfast cream peas and knife over there and for those of you guys who didn't watch maybe my last video this is my friend Donovan he's out here camping with me for the weekend out here here in the Nevada desert we're heading to Utah today though on the road again taking Don to uh see his first few national parks I think we're going to be able to make it cuz the weather is uh nicer than it was supposed to be I think all the rain that we were supposed to get hit last night so we should be able to make it to uh two of the parks today this is the best bagel I've ever had all right calm down I think we're just going to drive through Zion today I think we want to hit more of Bryce so we're going to drive through Zion and then kind of get out and explore Bryce a little bit but I don't think we're going to sleep up there because my heater is broken and it's supposed to be like 25° tonight and sleeping up in the front there's no insulation up there I think I would freeze to death that's a breakfast sandwich little touch of salt such a beautiful day out it rained all last night too and you wouldn't be able to tell this desert ground just soaks it up so quick I want a rematch I'm what earlier this morning we had a competition so you could hit the uh pole of The Rock first I won I had just woken up my arm was a little sore you know all right ready yeah I'm going to go one-handed actually you know what no I'm not oh you're getting serious yeah you go first I'll get rebuttal oh that was horrible come [Music] on mean no rocks left I know this poor campsite you get a rebuttal I do get a rebuttal let me get the perfect Rock winner winner chicken dinner that was the worst one loser God I'm not used to having guests in the van so I don't have many games we're making our own fun though we have to resort to my archaic tactics but we grew up together so I guess we're used to getting a little more creative true I got to be sweating I know we can't shower breakfast done campsite cleaned up he's time to H the road yeah oh [Music] jeez the streets feel up we're mixed with light go down down and [Music] shines feel again all right made it to Bryce Canyon it's a little bit snowy up here we made it we kind of just drove through Zion the uh main road driving through the park was closed to vehicle so we drove through decided to head here oh my God and they've got like 2T of snow everybody has hiking shoes on and uh we are not prepared for any of the snow he's got European track shoes on everyone else has crampons and boots but whatever let's get it what what's some energy in there hey guys Ryan here out here in not Ryan give you your best shot hey guys Donnie here why your boys get so deep it's the first time you guys are getting a third person view of me is it really or like a a nonstationary of me walking around I look cool you do look pretty cool they didn't even know what your other arm looks like oh I use both arms I switch off at least the paths are plowed oh this is Pleasant this is crazy never been here when it's covered in snow are these the yoos you say the yooo the hoodoo the hoodoo yeah these are the hoodoo there so much snow here though usually it's like you just hoodoos everywhere but even over there it's snow yeah how you feel about this bad you can walk down a little bit yeah maybe not that person is struggling that's crazy it's a little bit easier to walk when there's not 3 ft of snow no I don't think i' would do this without spikes on my shoes I'm going be slipping all over the place especially you yeah there's no chance those people are slipping all over the place imagine I mean I would probably do it if I was alone but really with those yeah I don't think Donnie could handle it no shot it's almost like you can't tell where the edge is like I want to jump in that but I feel like I would just fall through Straight Into the canyon crazy it is so beautiful up here kind of looks like you oh I was just about to make that same joke come on good here so beautiful from right here though oh I should have brought my binoculars you should have so what do you think about Bryce Canyon so far it's it's sick anything else it's super sick you heard it here first Rice Canyon is is really cool I want to go sledding down that that sound I would do that Tu Bank not oh but you can't go walk down a hill no walk I feel I'm sitting down going like this I can do that that's crazy we're going to go find somewhere to uh Camp maybe in some lower elevation maybe back near uh Zion where came from walk around here a little bit more check out some more stuff and then see you guys back when we find some Camp all right we made it to our spot we spent like almost the entire day today driving from here to Zion to Bryce to back to here we got lucky cuz we missed a lot of the rain this this stuff out here I've camped in this area before and it turns to straight peanut butter but most of the rain seems to have missed us but we got a pretty good view for our camp tonight no complaints thank you I decided to keep dinner pretty simple tonight not going to do anything crazy but look at this view this is super nice it's a little cold out supposed to be a little bit colder where we're at tonight than it was last night which kind of sucks especially being in the front cuz it's going to be super cold so I'm sleeping up in the front here if you watch my other video I have like a blowup mattress I'm going to put up here and then Don's taking the bed back there think I'm going to cook dinner now it's also always tough when you have someone else cuz they have bags and I don't have a lot of room in the back of my van so it's like playing Jenga trying to find places to put this stuff let we get to a spot where we can park but I just kind of throw it in the chair and up there all right hop on in shoes off inside always comfy super so if you've been watching uh my channel I'm making something that I've made before called pad Kow be e delicious cheers basically it's just ground meat over rice with some uh seasoning on it but it's really good and there's not a lot of room for two people to be standing up and it's kind of cold outside so D hanging out in the bed and for this recipe there's a ton of prep we got to do just chop up a few things and then throw it together and technically this recipe calls for chopped chilies but they didn't have any at the store so I just got a red bell pepper cuz I don't really care there we go that is all prep workk we [Music] [Music] need while that's cooking uh get started on the meat I actually think I'm going to give the rice like 5 to 10 minutes before I start cooking the meat cuz meat's going to cook pretty fast and the rice is going to take like 20 minutes is all right so the rice has been cooking for about 10 minutes so get started on this meat some oil heated up in the pan I actually really like this recipe I'm probably going to make it a lot on and off camera because it's so easy and it tastes so good and it's kind of healthy for you Don hasn't had the best luck with weather for his first weekend in a van even though he's been pampered it's been all right every meal made and cooked for him he sleeps in the big bed sitting over there reading his book while I'm over here slaving away it's been pretty good through little test piece in there make sure it's hot enough now we can go ahead and throw in our shallots and our Cho chilies make a red bell peppers those in there and get those cooking up oh also little spoonful of garlic now that that's cooked up nicely throw in our meat I got ground turkey because my friend Donnie over here doesn't eat pork or beef so was either turkey or chicken I want my turkey throw that in there and we'll let that cook up like 85% of the way before we add our seasoning Miss the beauty Dawn look at that so busy in his book oh look at that Donnie putting in some work I can help it is really pretty let me show you how to do it yeah give me a lesson so you're going to want to break down the turkey like this to release some of the uh enzymes it'll help uh be a catalyst for the sauce and the sugar to caramelize and caramelize what the sugar the sugar in what the sugar that we're putting in oh but we haven't put it in yet so how's it caramelizing no it will that's why we had to break down so the enzymes can do that in the future yeah shut up give me my spal back now that this is mostly cooked we can start adding in our sauces some soy sauce little bit of fish sauce oyster sauce and then just a little bit of sugar and that is it get that nice and mixed in let the turkey cook the rest of the way and that's pretty much it our rice I think is pretty much done yep there you go p Cal I did almost forget there's one last thing we got to add calls for fresh basil didn't have any at the store so we're just using this lightly dried basil throw that in there and that is it that is our finished dish dinner is served rice I've never made it with turkey before so I don't I actually know if it's going to be as good as the last time I had it but guess we'll find out perfect to M yeah Perfect Two portions there you go my friend thank you I had to take my table down because I uh had to move my seat back and this kind of gets in the way if I move my seat back so I can fit my bed up here so only place I really have to eat is in the front seats I to sit up there e all right and it's a pretty good view out front too cheers cheers you got to give this one another rating out of 10 it's a little hot though I always burn my mouth it's definitely better with beef or pork but you think yeah 100% turkey just really dry it's hard to cook I know so hot I do that every time also when I bring my friends out to come camping with me it's like introducing a new character onto my channel I don't think you guys have ever seen Donovan mm other than maybe in the Montage I did a long time ago for Thanksgiving and last but not least would be my friends my best friends it's hard to time things up with my friends and like actually do stuff he just so happened to be out here for a work trip so worked out what did I give the food yesterday give me an 8.6 8.4 that was very good that was pretty good I'll give this a 78 yeah i' probably say 72 73 I want people to have the full experience when they come out to the van I think I've definitely had the I'm sure I'm going to get some comments like Don didn't do anything that whole trip he just he just sat around I like to I like to cook and like drive and do everything when I uh when I have friends cuz I like to give them the full van life experience because I do this every day but this is his first and maybe last time doing it also I guess this is kind of like a a kid visiting me at work since this is technically my job let's take your child to work day it's a pretty good view out front got the uh I don't know if that's a but or a Mesa actually don't know what makes the difference I think a Mesa is just bigger but snow cap mountains over there that over over there not over there we got some pretty good views all around and we made it here before Sunset which is actually crazy with how much driving we did today we drove like 6 hours did we really so we drove from Valley of Fire to Zion through here yeah to Bryce hung out in Bryce drove back we're just south of Zion now jeez and we still made it before Sunset anyways we're going to finish dinner check these guys after and I'm going to get a fire started outside cuz tonight we should hopefully get a proper night outside since uh hopefully it's not supposed to rain but I'm not going to set up any of the other stuff just [Music] chairs all right well that's too hot to put away I don't know if you guys probably can't see cuz it is so dark out right now we sat outside for like 3 and half hours just hanging out by the fire but leave that stuff out there for tonight and then uh we'll clean it up in the morning but still get to my bed set up so I won't speak to whether this was worth the $700 or not that it cost for this air mattress I mean for the two nights that I've used it it's definitely more comfortable than the $20 one I bought off Amazon but honestly if I built the van again I would just build it so it was like a little bit more reasonable to have two people in no way this thing just died that's crazy I charged this thing for 3 hours last night it got one fill that's terrible I'm going have to charge this again for a few minutes so I can pump up my air mattress cuz it doesn't work while it's plugged in fatal flaw if you get this bed buy a different pump all right it's been about 15 minutes hopefully it's charged enough [Applause] we have a bed thank God but it is freezing cold outside it's like 25° so I got this uh I used this last night too I got this like camping down blanket sleeping bag thing that'll keep me warm up front along with this blanket my fuzzy socks on hat probably sleep in my sweatshirt I think uh that is pretty much it for the night brush my teeth we're both pretty tired so we're gonna go to bed we'll see you in the morning it got so cold last night you were cold yeah I slept fully under notot I had the blanket all the way over my head I was freezing up here like if I ever changed positions or moved it would just freezing again beautiful day to have a day while we slept in I didn't realize it was 10:00 I didn't fall asleep till super late last night though so I've we got to get Don back to Vegas today to catch a flight we both got to get back to Vegas probably take a shower and uh I don't think we're going to do breakfast here I don't feel like cooking so we're just going to pick something up on the way maybe get some coffee or something but beautiful day outside finally getting some good weather I know we've had like marginal weather the entire time we've been out here with the rain and the cold and this I think that's it for the Ryan and Don Van lifee adventure for now what did you think what's your overall rating of Van lifee this trip or in general I don't know just your experience with it I give it a solid 8.2 nice it would be higher if we had better weather cuz last night was the best we got to sit around the campfire eat some good dinner chat for a while I'll D again sometime soon then yeah
