Knicks NBA 2K25 Ratings Released! | CP The Fanchise & RGT 85 Reaction

all right here we go salute to next Nation on this Monday evening another edition of kftv live presented by manscaped on today's show we're going to have a little bit of fun with it man NBA 2K 25 the ratings have been released and we're going to talk about it man we're going to react to the New York Knicks player ratings on NBA 2k2 and today's guest we had this collab in the draft for quite some time man he is the leader of 500,000 subscribers on YouTube an avid gamer a Die Hard gamer and a Die Hard Nicks fan man my guy rgt 85 is in the building joining us today making his kftv debut so it's an honor to have him on here man so let's get into it we're going to give our reactions to the 2K 25 ratings and going to have some fun as well man our top five NBA games of all time so little on been I've been looking forward to this for a minute absolutely man me me and you were having a good time uh in the Green Room man I was I I was troubleshooting issue after issue after issue but as a content creator I'm I'm sure you can understand the technical uh technical side of things it's all it's always something you think you got everything perfect and then one day everything is just messed up and you're like yo I didn't change anything whatever's going on it it's always a glitch of the Matrix man but nevertheless definitely happy to have you on here um let's get right into these ratings man 2K 25 uh ratings are out and and the best one of the group is our guy jayen Brunson a 93 on NBA 2K 25 a five Point jump from last year he was in 88 last year 93 this year they're showing some respect on on captain clutch's name man what's your thoughts on that I think it's good you know it's it's welld deserved when you look at how he essentially drug this team you know into the playoffs all with all the injuries going on and all the the lineups being weird and stuff like that like he is one of the Premier players in the league so he definitely deserves to have a score that high you know if it would have been a 94 or 95 I don't think many people would have batted an eye at it either and I do think that there is potential for it to go up because really you're you're looking at you were looking at him I mean this is all based on last year and really last year you know he was he was not just the number one option but for a lot of these games he was the option so once he's able to get you know into different grooves and stuff like that be able to do different things passing the ball and stuff I think the overall rating could end up going higher yeah I'm I'm with you man I like the fact that you know the The League All Around Just is just putting respect on his name his star is really on on the main stage now made the allstar team for the first time this year he's on podcast after podcast he's doing his own podcast now with Josh Hart he's building his brand up and now it's to the point where like okay yeah he's he's no longer an under the radar guy he's now mainstream and I think this rating is indicative of it I mean if you look at he's just outside of the top 10 you have um the top 10 is yic donic Giannis they're all 97s SGA embid 96 uh Lebron James the agess one and Steph Curry 95 along with Jason Tatum then you have ktie 80 and and Ant-Man that's 9 101 and Booker is TI and Brunson brunson's tied with Deon Booker 12 and 13 I think fair man that that's that's where he needs to be he he is in that he's in that upper echelon company yeah whether you're whether you love the team or you don't obviously everyone here does but like you have to put respect on his name you know you have to just because of the amount of stuff that he he's done for this team for the City of New York and for the New York Knicks like yeah it it's well deserved yeah absolutely so you got a 93 there for Brunson um 86 is a three-point shooter so that's a good look definitely like that now this one I didn't like bro and and and and I want to get your thoughts on this one they got Julius at an 85 Julius Randall man 85 on the uh NBA 2K 25 rating and Julius they got a couple guys over him who I'm not really too happy about for example they have um you know Julius right now he's number 48 on on the overall top 100 but you got guys you got Evan Moy over him he's an 86 dejonte Murray Derek white fron Vagner you got fron over Julius fron took a four-point jump in 2K he didn't even have a great y last year jayen Williams I like I like him you got Cade Lowry marinin Triple J Jamal Murray Chris DS Chad homr Demar D Ro and Drew holiday lamelo lamelo didn't even play last year yeah you know what I'm saying I Julie should be at least an 88 hey man what do you think no 100% 88 89 around there I think is I it almost feels like they're penalizing him for getting hurt and it's like if you watched that stretch of basketball before he got hurt when you know after OG came over like that was some of that was like dominant work and more importantly it was very efficient work and like yeah you know he could have his moments as a player where he just you know gets into that mode that you know that we don't need that mode essentially but yeah that that that seems low that that definitely seems low I mean we're talking about you know a multiple time Allstar here so 25 and 10 yeah like those are those are outstanding number so yeah definitely low on that side and the funny thing that you mentioned the 25 and 10 P part if you look the overall rebound rating for this team is terrible and I find that to be really cuz I'm looking or the overall rate rebound rating is a 56 that's crazy how yeah they're one of the best rebounding teams in the league for the last like five years on the tips like I understand you know iHeart definitely helped out a lot with that but even when iHeart was out like Precious would step up Josh Hart's a rebounding machine so that that was kind of and I understand you know it's based on the whole team but it seems like you know I I I don't know that that one definitely sticks out like a sore thumb to me yeah I I think there there's some Julius slander here and Julius disrespect that that that might have been an intentional uh uh rating to tweak the Knicks fans because they knew we'd be tight because like I said lamelo didn't even play last year fron vogner wasn't even that all that good last year you know fron is an 86 I I got to put Julius at least in the in the 88 level he's right here this little quadrant here with um you got you got bam dearon Fox and Julius May the All-Star team you got bam dearon Fox damont aonis Zion sakam towns that's all right there I'm putting Julius right there yeah I mean right that that's an easy one man what do you guys think in the chat salute to everybody in the chat once again hit that thumbs up button for your boys CP the franchise R gt85 in the building we are reacting to the NBA 2K 25 player ratings uh just went through Jaylen Bronson we went through Julius Randall we're going to go through just kind of like the top seven or so for the Knicks not not the whole Squad uh M Bridges and OG 84 respectively uh M Bridges notably took a two-point dip from last year uh started off last year as an 86 now he's an 84 didn't have a great year with the Nets last year you know I don't think that's a Bridges issue I think that's more of a Nets issue I think he should be much better this year man would first of off what do you think about the trade of Macau is even coming here and what do you think he's going to bring to the team man oh I I loved it I was ecstatic when I saw that and you know people were saying oh you know gave up too many draft picks and I'm like no you didn't because if if you learned anything about watching the Knicks this past year it's that the Villanova connection is a real thing and even if you know it doesn't it it always showed up in the St sheet you know because they were all forced to play so many minutes towards the tail end of the season but even if it wasn't a matter of that like camaraderie playing with your boys playing with the people you're familiar with playing with your your your good friends that leads to really great things th this team this Villanova team accomplished championships you know with these players so like I I thought it was a brilliant move I didn't think it was possible me neither you know to to do something with the Nets but I thought it was a brilliant move and yeah like you said you know his his rating took a little bit of a hit but I think that's because he was like a main target and on this team he doesn't have to be you know the the onea on this team because you know we have Brunson and You by extension you also have Julius so I think his efficiency will go up and I think his his playmaking and his defensive side will definitely help boost that rating up you know even if it even if it only goes up like a point or so like I I still think I still think that there's room to grow a little bit on that yeah there's definitely room to grow and I think he's going to do that with this team like you said not having to be the guy um whereas in Brooklyn he he kind of had to carry them man he had to carry a team of bums you know no disrespect to all those guys but it just is what it is but with this team he can slot right in and kind of play like the Phoenix Bridges but I also think they're going to he's going to have his opportunity especially when they stagger those minutes to maybe Elevate the bench unit a little bit there there and you know maybe you see some some of him running with McBride and Hart div chenzo because when Brunson goes to the bench it's going to be imperative to keep that offensive momentum going and I think that is where you can kind of feature Bridges so his shot creation ability is going to be key here for the Knicks I think that's going to be a wild card for them next year man yeah it went from a situation of you know who do we play next because of injuries to who do we play next because we have so much talent and you know the bench is so deep obviously you're still kind of out there looking for a big but you know beyond that like you know I definitely a great move and something that I think is gonna pay off very well you know a lot of the The Usual Suspects in the media just like with Brunson they oh the Nick's overpaid blah blah blah it's like all right you you'll see I mean if you watch the team you'll know how this is gonna work yeah no question about it man oh I got a shout out a $100 Super Chat for my would absolutely be fantastic where where are you on on on the Randle scale man are you confident in Julius what do you think man what do you think man it all comes down to whether or not you know where I think it's a mental thing at this point whether or not he can accept kind of how this team is built now to where he doesn't need to take a crazy shot you know and you saw flashes of that when OG came over and the three of them were playing it was just very efficient if that's the Julius Randall that is playing for this team yeah I I I don't I don't think you mess with that like I don't you know if there's you know problems behind the scenes something ends up happening this that or the other then you kind of look at it but if it's that Julius Randall that we saw in that stretch when OG came over like that's that's a that's a beautiful Fit Plus you might need him to play some five you know so yeah they're going to need him they're definitely going to need him like you know his his shot creation ability you can't um undersell that especially what it means to this team and their prospects to to truly reach their potential you know to truly be a contender you're going to need him and you're going to need him at his best because I think that can can unlock a lot of guys including jayen Brunson like Jaylen brunson's a ability to play off ball is going to be crucial for this team because he's a he's a lethal shooter as well so if he's going to have opportunities where he doesn't have to just be out there creating for himself where you have a Julius Randall who can draw the double teams force a defense into rotations and then you're swinging that ball around and all of a sudden gets into number 11's hands he's got a wide open he's stepping into wide open Catch and shoot threes that's going to make this offense even that much better man so uh Julius is definitely going to be uh very very crucial to this team so shout out to jcal for the $100 Super Chat okay uh who rating 84 uh took a two-point um increase this year I thought that was I thought that was accurate right rightfully so for Og man you your thoughts yeah I mean he played he played great you know the Philadelphia series he was a lock down Defender he was dunking on M beat he was hitting the three he was aggressive so you know obviously injuries kind of you know impacted what you really could have seen out of him but you know now like like we've been talking there's a little bit more depth so I think you're going to get you know OG in his in his prime in this sort of situation yeah I'm looking forward to seeing him this year obviously injuries is going to be the big big factor for him he's going to have to stay healthy he just got the bag highest paid player on the team and so the expectations are are are going to be up there for OG now man so um it's going to be very important for him to not only get off to a good start but to to stick around to have longevity with this team because he is vital he changed the team around man 20 and3 when he got here and so you know I'm just very excited to see what he can bring and and not only Not only was his defense his shooting efficiency was off the charts his IQ his passing ability underrated yeah and then also his ability to put the ball on the floor I thought you saw a more complete game from OG anobi as he got more and more comfortable with this team last year that mid-range too he was doing them little midrange pull-ups looking like Kawai like okay that that mid-range was looking filthy out of Og man so now you're going to have him and mcal bridges on the wings they're going to have two of the best Wing defenders in the entire league and that's going to spell trouble for the league man like you might as well I don't know do you have a nickname for him and Macau Bridges do you have a nickname for for uh OG and Macau man not yet people are saying Wing Stop do you like The Wing Stop nickname I like Wing Stop I like it I think that's good I'm sure more will come out as the season goes on though yeah you know yeah some someone will say something out of pocket and it'll just stick for some reason yeah it it'll stick man at least it'll be better than uh remember Quivers yes hopefully it'll be better than Quivers because that was God awful but you know this this is what we do as Nicks fans man we you know we we Crown these guys early and and these things stick it it all makes the uh the season that much worthwhile to watch um let me go to I'm going to go to that website on my phone because I think that was the issue and that was causing the uh the platform here to crash out so was it uh 2K ratings 2K ratings yeah yeah they got they run so many ads on there and stuff I think that was the issue yeah so it was causing the um the video here to glitch out so we're not going to go back there so I'm going to use my phone because I want to get into Dante dant chenzo The Big Ragu he's an 80 yeah he's an 80 on on 2K but what was more surprising his three-point rating was he's like the seventh best three-point shooter in the game right now and last year he was literally like probably the second best three-point shooter in the league behind Steph Curry yeah you know I I would almost cuz he's I think his three is an 86 along with Brunson yeah I would put him a point higher than Brunson me personally I mean that's that Brunson can obviously hit the three but that's that's rago's game like you know when he's out there you know he's probably gonna try to shoot a three or maybe even dunk on you because he you know he gets feisty out there but I would have put his three up a little bit but yeah I mean once again welld deserved rating and I think you know once you also have to factor in the efficiency thing as the season progresses you know he's is going to get way more looks and open looks than he was getting this year because you can't just lock down one or two people on the defensive end if you're an opposing team and just be like okay well these are the only guys that can shoot it's like n it doesn't work like that anymore pal yeah like there are options out here so you know I I I might I might have put him a little higher I would have put his three a little bit higher than brunson's but you know glad to see glad to see it moving up 283 made threes this year 40% shooter nine and out of there real quick yeah got for out of there real fast real fast I I was kind of like I you know I loved Evan for you know what he did but I was kind of like all right you know this feels a little better I like this a little more that that one felt real man and so Ragu is going to be very interesting this year because they can't forget about him man he's going to be going to the bench and with that type of three-point accuracy and Firepower that he can bring like yes Bridges is an automatic for the starting lineup but you can't forget about Rago man he's he's got to get a lot of minutes off that bench because you're going to need his offense can't forget about I I can see him potentially closing a lot of games too depending on like the matchup on the uh defensive end but you know if you're going against a smaller team which I mean there are a lot of smaller teams in the league and you're needing that Firepower yeah like yeah he's probably not going to start you know barring any sort of injuries or something like that but I could see him closing a lot yeah yeah no he he was a he to me one of the best contracts in the league especially to to see that they got him at the mid-level exception he was one of the best two guards in the league and like I said behind Steph Curry the best shooter in the league you know and Steph is Steph he's like he's a video game he's lights out so you know Ragu Ragu had a phenomenal year and it was funny that game against Detroit when he did break the record forier was trying to guard him like white on rice man like yo like yo 48 where was that defense where we needed you instead of you buming it up for the three years you were here 48 was not trying to see that record go down then he he wasn't he was he he gets like that sometimes though like if you watch him you know the overseas games and stuff like during the Olympics it's like where is where's where's this guy been like that was I thought this was the dude that was signing with the Knicks plays with a lot more Pride man uh how about money Mitch block Nest monster man he's an 80 this year took a took a two two-point dip from previous 2ks Mitchell Robinson what do you think man 80 I mean I'm cool with it you know because that the overall score factors in everything about a player and you know when you look at Mitch it's like you know what are you getting from him offensively you're going to get some dunks you're going to get some putbacks and you know that but that's all that's also all you really need out of him too so um you know his defense is probably a vast majority of that rating as long as the blocks are looking good as long as the rebounding numbers are good because you know how that that ball in 2K tends to gravitate to certain players with based on their ratings um yeah I think I think that's that's fair and once again room for improvement you know he's obviously looking to prove a point this year um that he's durable that he's healthy and that you know he can contribute I always think of that one play I don't I don't remember against what team it was but that inbounds play where he was out on the three-point line and he just drove with the ball and everyone was like what yeah like you know show show me a little more of that that was fun I like that and and you know Mitch man he he he plays with an edge he's got a chip on his shoulder he hears the naysayers and a lot of naysayers are regarding his his injuries and I think he he still wants revenge on embiid man you know and embiid that was a dirty play with Joel embiid in the playoffs I was very tight about that uh because any other player at any other time during during a an NBA year that's an ejection when Joel embiid I mean you you could have really really hurt the guy and he did he he did hurt him no I think I think everyone everyone was was mad about that because it was you know you could say oh this that or the other it's like no bro like you knew what you were doing like you clearly knew what you were doing and you you took out one of you know our key players in this and we still got the job done still got the job done man so that first Nicks Philly game which is going to be within the first 10 games I think it's the 10th game of the season in Philly which will also be an NBA Cup game if you guys are into that but that'll be in Philly that's going to be one the circle man get your popcorn ready Mitchell Robinson and the squad will be ready as well um Duce 79 took a five-point jump big jump for Deuce this year in okay 79 rating including an 85 three-point rating I think that's fair for Deuce what do you think yeah I think that that's very fair because you know that SEC the second half when he was having to play more you know he was he was stepping up like there were some games where he was just hitting every three that he took yeah so you know it was it was like I think it was the game right after Dante um set the team record for G for threes in a game like he came out and hit like four in the first quarter everyone was like what is going on here like boys Wilding so no I mean he's a player that tremendous upside and someone that is very versatile and once again I think this is going to be a better year for him because I don't think he'll have to focus as much on being like a playmaker when he's out there because now he'll have more options you know when it comes to people like Bridges Hart and um diva out there with him so you know it's going to be I think a different more mature um Deuce but like he's he's one of my favorite players like I just love I love his energy his defense and some of those crazy dunks that he does it very athletic dude so yeah glad to see him get that that ratings boost as well yeah um he's a guy that fits this culture to a te you know um and and I remember when when they drafted him uh Burman had came on here Burman poster came on here and talked about know this this was a tibs pick through and through like tibs wanted him here and it's so ironic that off all the Nicks young draft picks he was the last man standing here you know Duce was the last man standing and we've seen him improve his game and and step his game up his work ethic has been consistent defense was always consistent but really it's a shooting his shooting ability really came on strong last year and was well timed especially when the team was was down uh a lot of key assets there man so two had a number of games remember the Golden State game he's checking Steph Curry for Dam near 48 minutes on the other side he's torching the Nets I mean that was that might have been the best game that that he played the Philly series he had a couple of key plays so Duce was great last year man phenomenal season by him no and great contract too great contct great that was a great contract yeah they need to redo on that one babe so yeah that's Duce Duce McBride 79 we had the website up but it's a little too glitchy man so and that that I think was the primary cause of the technical issu so we're just reading the ratings off of our phones right now uh walm more I'll go through precious precious is 78 took a two-point rise there came through at uh 76 last year but 78 for precious um hey I think that's pretty pretty good for for what he brought to the team for what his role is going to be on this team that's my dude like you know how you are with Burks I'm like that precious I love that dude like I I just you know whenever he does anything as minuscule as it is like I get so happy I I'm I was so happy that they brought him back this year you know and obviously that does have that open window for a trade and if need be you know do what you got to do but I I like his game man and I I think it can become a bit better you know he's still pretty young I mean there were there were games where he was dominant like dominant on the boards and stuff like that game uh game against Toronto uh where he yammed it at the end of the game like that was awesome like I like when he gets very energetic and plus the dude is like walking with lions and stuff on his Instagram it's like he's throrough babe yeah this a dude you need to keep around like you know Hometown guy as well so yeah I'm a big fan of precious so I hope I hope he I hope he's able to you know because he's probably I guess by default he's going to be you know the backup center I believe so and you know depending on the matchup it it can be a good thing it can be a little bit troubling but you know you just got to see you got to see how the season plays out yeah yeah I I agree with you wholeheartedly it was a move they had to make especially when they lost iheard and like you know every single backup center went off the board within the first few days of free agency so uh it was clear that preus was was a primary target of theirs and and they finally were able to get it done like you said the the deal uh does make it possible for him to be traded but I think that's more of the Knicks just uh keeping their options open as they usually do but for him he's going to have another primary role here on this team and a guy who could on Knights guard fours maybe some threes maybe some fives so he does provide them with some front Court versatility which um they've been kind of increasing as these years have gone by so his pickup at the deadline with with OG at first was kind of an afterthought but then became a necessity especially once Julius a 70 Uh Kevin McCulla Jr 69 and arel hpy 68 do you see any of these rookies uh um making a case for the main roster what do you what do you think kic you know I like kic I think there's potential with that you know if if you know obviously someone's probably gonna get hurt at some point in time or take a few games off so I think he could get some burn I like Huck py you know I it's very kind of rough around the edges but like him and kic had some really good chemistry in summer league you know especially as summer league kind of went along like they were running a nice little you know Twan game out of there so yeah you know probably a lot of Westchester burn but at the same time you know stay ready it's the NBA you got to stay ready Stay Ready stay ready man well said yeah we'll see you know Huck P's on the two-way you just never know we'll see what happens in training camp and does he get a couple minutes here there in the preseason especially if Mitchell Robinson isn't necessarily ready for preseason action could it be you know it goes precious it goes Sims and Maybe Huck py sneaks in a couple minutes here and there and makes a case and then kic he I think he'll he'll have to work his way in especially as a rookie Nicks did get Cameron Payne there's been mixed reports whether or not pay is going to be the the backup point guard or not I think we we'll have to wait and see but certainly he'll be there but you know I think as as as tibs goes or as is typically the case with tibs rather K's going to have to earn it nothing will be given to him especially to start the season off he's going to have to show improve especially on the defensive end he's going to have to show that he can be at least adequate to stay out there uh and I think he'll be more situational anyway so um yeah for sure I mean I mean look at look at Deuce's play time from year one to to now you know it's it's night and day and think when you know when you get drafted by the Knicks I think you kind of understand that to at least some degree especially under tibs like look that's just how it's going to be you know you you'll get some play time maybe some garbage minutes you know but you know just be ready be ready that's the whole next man up next man up man well said man all right man so let's talk about top five NBA games of all time man who's what's on your list give me your give me your five doesn't have to be in any particular order what five man you want me to go through all five or you want to do one onone uh all right uh let's go one onone let's go one one all right first off I have to I have to go I mean NBA Jam okay like that I mean that was you know that was unlike anything that we had seen at that time yeah amazing arcade game you know obviously some great follow-up iterations yeah tournament Edition but like NBA Jam was like it it almost extended like Beyond basketball you know like it was that it was that perfect early mid90s feeling to it I love that game and I still play that game a ton you know ying and Starks dominating fools you know just super fun game yeah no NBA Jam without question it was a cult classic I think that's the word man it it it transcended the game uh tournament Edition was was fantastic I remember I used to actually play in tournaments at Blockbuster video for kids at home that that was an actual video store that you would have to go to and get your physical movies and physical video games but they used to host tournaments all the time so I used to go there play the NBA Jam tournaments and then I remember I used to pick up the uh the game pro go in the back of the game pro and get all the codes for NBA Jam to unlock they had like a 100 people celebrities and other people that you could uh that you could get into the game so that was cool and then with tournament Edition I think once you beat it you would unlock a fourth player I think every team had like three players by default right or yeah three players by default tournament Edition and then I think if you once you beat it you got a fourth player I'm almost positive I think you got another guy I got I gotta remember but um I'm not sure I I I think you got a fourth guy I gotta I gotta go back and check man I'm getting old but needless to say you know between the sound effects he's on fire and all of that come on man the tournament Edition was was uh that was a joint man so definitely NBA Jams on the list definitely all right what's the next one you got I got a deep cut one you might not have even played this one now it did have an arcade counterpart it was called Run and Gun it was done by Konami but on the home consoles it came as um why is the name escaping me uh uh um what the heck okay hold on I'm having I'm having a a brain fart running gun oh NBA give and go I'm an idiot oh it was called NBA give and go on the Super Nintendo and let me tell you why that game makes my list is because during that time you had live that was starting out and you had the the arcadey games and they were all very fast-paced but NBA running gun had like it was a more low down view you had these big Sprites and the since they got the NBA license you had you know most most of the players obviously didn't have MJ in there but it was a really good game of arcadey but kind of sish basketball you know like you could do some dribble moves and you know shoot threes and dunks like that I think it's a very underrated game one of the best 16 bit ones that I actually didn't play until I was older because I didn't have a Super Nintendo growing up I had a Sega Genesis yeah me too I was a Genesis guy was definitely when I when I first found that game I was like wow this is really I wish this was on I wish this was on the Genesis I'd have played this yeah that's why I missed it I I was 100% a Genesis I was a Sega head all the way straight through the Dreamcast man yeah definitely all right next um next one you know to bring up Dreamcast NBA 2K like the first one was just it was it was magical it was just I remember the first time I saw it my my between that and NFL 2K it was like what what what have video games become like yeah just you know it laid the groundwork for what the franchise ended up being a behemoth of a franchise so you know you gota you got to pay respect to NBA 2K the first one because without it who knows where basketball games would have been 2K was ahead of it time like to shoot the free throws you used to have to hit the left and the right joint to to line up the arrow to get the free throw in and if you if you had Shaq on the Lakers forget about it cuz you weren't getting you you CH just go it all over the place um I must have played more street ball than regular season in NBA 2k I was hooked on the street Bowl man you had so many options with it you know just so many different types of things and then obviously the series continued to grow um you know I guess I could you know NBA 2K 11 I think that was like a huge step NBA 2K 5 NBA 2K16 there's definitely been games that are you know better than other 2K Games modern 2K you know I think it's gotten a little bit too crazy you know there's there's too much just like the city stuff and it's like yeah that's cool the the card games and stuff like yeah look man I just want to play basketball like I don't want to play as myself I want to play as the players that I want do you feel like you know they they've they're adding in all these glits and gits and gadgets but also with these games now especially when when they're public companies and and take two and all of that where you know it's all about the the the VC and buying this and buying that do you think they they've shifted away from the game play and gotten to to revenue uh conscious yes and I think a part of that is because they no longer have competition yeah you know there's there used to be so many companies making NBA games Sony had their own with NBA shootout Xbox had NBA Inside Drive Nintendo had Courtside with Kobe Bryant you had Konami doing their own stuff and then you had and you had 2K so you had options every year so even if your game was better than another game another game might have done something better than yours so you looked at it you you said okay well maybe we'll put that something like that in our game next year and with the lack of competition you know with live falling off the face of the Earth and you know nobody can afford to because I mean that's modern gaming nowadays it costs so much to make these games and so you don't see a lot of that sort of stuff anymore you know you could just say oh we added in 7,000 new animations and I'm always like every year I'm like where are they where is it where is it where is it and I remember like especially with with when the nextg consoles came out they' always tried to trick you with the commercials like oh look at this and it's like bro the game looks nothing like like this especially we're talking basketball but like when they when they try to fake you out when when uh when Madden nextg and it was like the commercial was nothing like what the gamepl was going to be it all looks the same I I agreee with you and that's a good point no competition anymore it's a good point there's there's nothing definitely good point man next game going back to NBA Live Gotta Give it to NBA Live 05 that game 05 05 that had the dunk had Mello on the cover has Dunk Contest that was super fun that was that was probably the last live that I really enjoyed playing and the best part was live was full price but uh NBA 2K5 was $20 that was the one that had uh Ben Wallace on the cover so I was like I could Splurge I'll buy them both and so you know sometimes we we'd play I Remember um rasul Butler on Miami for some reason in that game I I swear to God this wasn't you know Under the Influence or anything like that Marv Albert would always call him the Cardinal and he could if you did Corner threes with him every time it would in I would score like me and my buddy would be playing I would score like 60 points with Ras Butler he would get so mad at it but like so many so many fun game so many fun memories and like that dunk contest that was legit that really made it kind of stand out from 2K you know made it feel different they were very different games at their core for sure was that the live I I think I had that live oh you said' 05 right yeah yeah I was definitely in college yeah so we we were definitely having like live tournaments and going crazy was that the live where they emphasize the moves like you could poster somebody and like you can cross somebody up like really yeah yeah okay yeah that was the one that was the one yeah the Rockets had a a problem in that in that uh in that game Rockets it was it was it was really the last time that you know cuz live hung around for a little bit but 2K was just you know it it kept growing and you know live was trying to you know like oh maybe we should should scrap this and you know start a new engine and then they did a terrible demo for the um PS3 one and stuff with the Andrew bidam T pose on the court and stuff you know I I I do miss it though I miss it because because of the lack of competition yeah FL live was um it had its moment in history for sure definitely uh all right so that's your list yeah and one honorable mention yeah because this won't be on your list because it's technically not an NBA game Street Hoops play Street Hoops I did not play Street Hoops you could play as the professor you could play oh oh yes I know the game I know the game man yeah you know it from the Chappelle show Absolutely the kid in the hospital dude I used to have I had a um I bought a screen I had a GameCube for some reason in high school and I bought the screen that you could attach to it for like 100 bucks and we would be like seven eight people deep cuz I I got um an adapter for my cigarette in my car and so I could play it in my car it would be like seven eight people deep just having Street Hoops and Rocky tournaments in that and it's a fun game too I think it still holds up well good soundtrack too mam mustaf in the chat says he loves Street Hoops emphasiz is awesome dude I remember the game didn't play the game I remember the cover but I did not play the game um it's classic I have I had 2K in my list definitely that that was to me Dreamcast especially with the first 2ks it was ahead of its time with everything um I had NBA Jam on my list I had live 95 on my list okay I thought live 95 was a good one man oh yeah on the Genesis I played that AB used to be able to do the 360 dunks break the backboard Nicks were nice in that game I used to play as a Nicks the Warriors and the magic yep Warriors not not Warriors for me but I definitely did Nicks and Magic a lot I mean it was just fun yeah Warriors you have spr well Mullen um was was was Richmond on that team I think he was still there warriors were filthy in that game yeah Warriors are disgusting in that game and just used to be spr well doing the 360 two-handed dunk break the backboard that was ahead of it t yeah that was ahead of it and then Coach K kind of took that I guess a similar engine right CU remember Coach K basketball was uh had that same thing and Kentucky was nasty in that um so I had Yukon I used to play with Yukon all the time true uh so I had live 95 I thought NBA 2K 11 that was honestly that was probably the last 2K that I really really got into I I like that one I thought the Jordan integration was excellent on that one the different Jordan moments that you could play I thought that one that one was definitely my last favorite 2K was 2K 11 with Jordan undercover and then um NBA streets Volume 2 man there you go streets Volume 2 was was the perfect casual basketball game to me ever ever made 100% 100% I don't know why it's never been remixed can you get that now with like The Game Pass stuff like I'm so far removed from games like you can you even play that now no cuz you can't because the licensing and stuff cuz all those licenses you know you can't even you can't even buy last year's game digitally You' have to get a physical version of it cuz they remove them they don't want you to play those you know they'll mark them down and then once the new One Drops hey goodbye so yeah it's uh it's tough I mean you can emulate it and stuff like that's how I play a lot of stuff yeah uh nowadays but yeah great game and you know by ex you know even um uh NBA Ballers was pretty fun too with starberry on c yeah yeah yeah yeah similar to that yeah stre streets volume two was amazing bro they had everybody they had 85 Jordan they had 90s Jordan they you had everybody in the game the game started all Pete Rock CL Smooth that that game was that game was Perfect magic in that game was ridiculous I mean it it was uh it was just insane man bito doing the commentary that it was like it was the perfect kind of evolution of NBA Jam really when you think about it absolutely you just just more more players and you know better graphics and stuff like that and just just fun you know no no two games you know playing two games back to back they didn't they never felt the same very true very true man I I could have played that all night you got to show me the the uh the emulation uh trick there I I got to get back into that I I got to get that get that anouncement no question about it's a lot easier nowadays man I got this 12 terabyte hard drive here yeah it has everything ever on it like it's got even got PS3 stuff on there and stuff so it's pretty legit all right let's let's do it man we we'll definitely talk offline about that for Nicks talk uh what's your fan story man let's close with that what was your Nicks fan story man how'd you get into the team uh growing up uh in southern Connecticut you know the Knicks were always on television and it was kind of like a family thing you know you would watch the Knicks games you would watch the Giants Gam and stuff like that so you know just growing up I remember my parents were in a bowling league during the um the uh Infamous choke game with Reggie that and it was we were at the bowling alley while it was happening and like nobody was bowling everyone was just watching this one TV and you could just hear a pin drop in there and so you know I've just always been a fan of the Knicks I did move to uh North Carolina and um so I also became a fan of you know know the Bobcats and turned into the Hornets because I used to go to the games out there and stuff but I've always loved the Knicks and then once once I came back to the Northeast it was just like it was the perfect time because they were at their absolute lowest you know RJ was a rookie and all this sort of stuff and it's like you know what I like this team I'm I need to get back into this good memories and stuff so you know like um I would say you know after the Mello era and then before that like you know I kind of just focused more on Charlotte because that was the local team and you know they had Kimba and stuff I was a big fan of Kimba walker uh from his college days and stuff yeah I've always I've always had a soft spot for the Knicks and you know it's great to see them doing well again yeah no no question about it well said man a lot of Vegas sports books are tabbing them for 52 wins over or under high or low what do you think um you know if they could do you know they got that 50 Burger last year I don't see why they can't this year they gotten substantially better yes losing iHeart does suck but it's next ManUp mentality it's not about an individual player it's about the team and this team I feel will have the intangibles and I guess really the power of friendship that's going to propel them to you know they'll be right up there I don't see any reason you know barring any injuries I don't see why they're not right up there with Boston I know everyone all of a sudden thinks the Sixers are are the number two team in the East I'm sorry but uh uh a beat up an older embiid an older Paul George who's very injury prone and Max you know he's great and he's young and all that sort of stuff but I just I just I don't see it man I don't see it and I know they they gota you know they improved the bench and stuff like that I think the Knicks are the default second best team in the East put some respect on and if it comes down to the Knicks and Boston and the Eastern Conference Finals I'm not going to be surprised if the Knicks take them there you go well said man my guy rgt 85 laying it down great show man we we did the 2K ratings got into some some hoops games
