Bob's rant on the street with Thomas Stevens shout out to my producer Tyler [Music] s heavy T we did it heavy T we did it uh uh heavy T we did it I don't know what we did the GU league is back every te shout out we did it Spade this music out already what is going on everybody Welcome to the special edition of Monday Night rants where we are doing our second annual now yeah 15 League Draft Round of Applause to everybody there you go yes yes yes yes we did it man I'm so excited tonight will be a night of celebration for the show for the our fellow ranters out there who have joined the league um where 18 lucky Souls will go to battle at war in a draft to see who will reign supreme in the guillotine League are you excited um yeah I mean yeah I'm I I can't lie like I'm I'm excited I'm a little nervous because I feel like I haven't done as much drafting research as I did last year but I think I'm going to be okay oh like now that I have a year of this under my belt I I think I'll be good I think I'll be ready to go we we do have uh a slight advantage over the people who didn't do this last year because we kind of know what to expect because it was a little chaotic last year let me explain the rules for everyone so they know kind of how it works 18 people 17 weeks at the end of each week There's No head-to-head matchups Whoever has the least amount of fantasy points from their starting roster is eliminated they are gone they are cut I kicked them out of the league they're they can still see it but they can no longer have a roster to manage but all their players on their team go into free agency for all the survivors to bid on on Wednesday and it is a it is a it's a frenzy yeah it gets uh it gets crazy and whoever's the last person standing at the end of it wins it's that easy so you can either get kicked out week one or make it all the way to week 17 or week 16 like I did last year um our defending Champion k 4 um I don't think he's in the League this year he didn't resign up but archon 56 who was the runner up is back this year as well uh he is drafting last he's drafting 18th but he does get the swing back and it is 18 people only 14 rounds um it goes pretty quick quicker than we thought last year we thought we'd be on the air for three hours we were out of here in two um and uh Legends are born with the Monday night rant Guillotine League like Taj mcgaan last year was just gonna say that who was autod drafted to my team as my last player and um we found out that he currently works at Chase and I tried to get him on the show but no avail shout out to uh accountant Taj mcgallen accountant Taj McAllan oh one time Saints um I guess player but he was only on the practice squad so I guess you it counts no it still counts it counts it counts so I warn you people I warn everybody out there who who is in the league watching this right now do not autodraft because the autodraft system on sleeper will screw you it's bad and I mean real bad I mean if you want to autodraft round 14 which is the last one fine go ahead yeah yeah that's fine everything else no do not do that no yeah it is going to uh not benefit you at all so I got my draft up here I'm going to click start at 6:20 pm Pacific and we'll get rolling shall we go over the draft order real quick or we can yeah yeah real quick let's let's just show the the draft board here so everyone can get accustomed to uh what they're going to see tonight let me make sure I pull the right one because I have one where I make picks and one that I show so it's kind of a dual threat here this is the draft order here is so big it is I love it we can make it even bigger too watch this bam oh we're gonna have so much fun tonight it's a celebration people Matty D AKA better bosses number one Eric Elliot jams from New Rock 104 is the Drew show um 1 1800 sad boy okay that's a great name I don't know who that is that's a great name one of our fellow ranters out there heavy T the year up next uh they call me cap I believe he was in it last year as well I think I'm not sure filibuster 86 I think he's our resident Raiders correspondent Billy uh suspicious orc uh loyal list to the Drew straw nework 104.1 and our cels so shout out to him love that name as well beta away threes remember last year we picked him most likely to be out week one and somehow he made it pretty far so I think he made it top six yeah so shes fantasy alarm it's obviously our boys that our fantasy alarm uh Steelers 1918 Thomas Stevens is still relevant people I promise and he will be drafting tonight our buddy three-point San Hill pulp friction and last year's runner up archon 56 so 18 brave souls here vowing to be supreme leader of Monday Night rant fantasy football Supremacy aka the guillotine league so this is like something that not a lot of other people do out there it's hard to find platforms that will do this I have to do this manually on sleeper it's the easiest one to do it on so if you're looking at starting this up before the season starts next Thursday I recommend sleeper for doing it because it's the easiest to do it Yahoo and ESPN and CBS they could be a little difficult for these settings so um this is the best way to do it is sleeper I see some green light starting to pop on loving it loving it for sure again if you autodraft not only do you ruin the show well your team will probably stink and you'll probably be eliminated week one yes we don't want any eliminations week one all right heavy T you don't have to give it all away because people are starting to hop on the show now but what are some not your strategy per se but some strategies that you may be thinking about um as it comes to a draft like this I think this is the ultimate draft where you can't go in with a zero running back strategy you have to have at least one of the really good running backs and considering it'd be kind of wild considering that there's 18 people in this thing so if everyone was to just draft a running back at the beginning you're talking about on the way back the ones who had the first and second overall pick it's real Slim Pickins so you have to come away with one of the running backs in the first if not the second round yeah you need a running back that gets volume yeah because the way it works who's coming in here someone's trying to come in and talk fadeaway threes should we uh let's talk to let's talk to fadeaway 3es let's get them in fade fadeaway 3es you're on audio only can you hear us nope well we tried we tried Fade Away try try to call back butd I see you in here um but uh we don't hear you so you got to adjust your camera or your uh audio there we'll put him back to mute here until he figures that out love that guy I can't I can't believe he's back I'm excited for that um yeah you want a running back with volume volume volume volume but there are some running backs that aren't as highly touted as some of the ones that you see that are in the the top that um can still be value of later you know I'm not gonna give them away but there's some running backs later on that aren't in the top 10 picks normally in normal drafts that have every down value so they're out there um I kind of got screwed because I last year I went the Kamar route he was suspended for six games but I made it through and when he came back I was pretty dominant for a while and I made really good Fab choices let's talk about Fab now let's say we have a thousand Fab each team yeah you're out week one we lost fadeaway He he'll come back come back fadeaway um you're out week one your players go into there you're still in it and you go okay the this team is Christian mcaffrey how much are you willing to pay and you saw how loaded rosters get when there's like 10 nine teams left how loaded these rosters are what are you willing to pay for that it it's real it really is iffy because early on I get that you're going to have you know maybe a guy like Christian mcaffry or maybe a guy like Brae hall or bejon or something like that that's going to fall and you're going to do everything you can to get it but do not I think we only have a, worth of FAP do not spend $500 of your Fab on one dude because that's just insane behavior let's ask let's ask Eric let's ask Eric he's in the league let's see if he comes on Eric are we working you know I just got here my apologies now you're good are you ready to draft um I am not but I am overall so were you you were in The League last year right yes how far did you get do you remember what week in which you were four place I believe nice congratulations so I'm I just edged you out that last week yes no I yeah I had a really bad week I think I had Justin Jefferson and Tyreek Hill and Devonte Adams on that one there yeah I mean obviously we were all staffed at that point when you get to that point there's four teams left we're stacked yeah it's crazy yeah it's all match ups at that point um what was your Fab strategy last year um my strategy wait the what was the first word you said before strategy the tab like your your freeny spending did you spend it all in the get-go right off the bat or did you kind of wait a little bit and see how your draft did before you started picking up new new players and kind of get the people who spent heavy in the first couple weeks you know what being new to it last year I was uh kind of heavy on the spending at first and then realizing like okay maybe that's not the play mhm and kind of you know strategized the later portions of the year uh but this year is going to be different I think I'm going to have a little different game plan obviously you know I'm not GNA tell you guys what it's goingon to be yeah yeah yeah yeah I get I'm trying to win win this thing you're your second pick overall in this one yes you got a long way coming back do you have a strategy in mind you have to tell us but are you prepared for that long snake back I this is going to be the earliest I've drafted in all my league so far so and there's 18 people in it congratulations yeah so it's definitely going to haveen I'm going to have to do something a little different uh but yeah I know I I'm pretty sure it really depends on number one who who he takes um yeah and his light is green so he is in the draft room so yes and that's that's really what it goes down to it's I mean to be honest it's going to be a wide receiver running back combo okay yeah I think a lot of people are going to try to hit that last I also made a mistake where I picked up Patrick Mahomes early it didn't work out for me too well I still made it a long way but I ended up actually getting um Lamar Jackson later in a in a fat pickup that actually took me over the hump instead of Patrick Mahomes uh When's the earliest you would take a quarterback in in a guillotine League like this H see I'm like a seventh rounder kind of guy okay okay I'm L I'm a later round I'm not I'm not really huge on quarterbacks um I I like to stream quarterbacks depending on you what it's going to be hard in this league because there's 18 people so um you can't really stream quarterbacks as much as you want to so this you could spend your Fab if someone has Josh Allen it goes out week two exactly yeah um in this league probably I'd say fifth or sixth okay cool yeah that's kind of I think I picked up Mahomes in the fourth last year and it it came back to C or cby so I'm not going to be doing that this year I have my eyes as some later round quarterbacks myself but we'll see you know what everyone has a strategy everyone has kind of like what they're going to do and then as the draft Falls sometimes we got to Pivot right you gotta pivot so we'll see how that all plays out well you ready to draft my in place where are you drafted what number you drafted I'm 11 okay so you're still kind of fit in that normal draft range of a 12 team league so you're not kind of in the the back end of it you feel consistent how confident are you that you won't get kicked out week one oh I'm like it's a 99% % chance I'll I'll make it in my mind but I'm so terrified of that 1% I'm so scared so embarrassing yeah man well what hey welcome to the league it's your first time it's it's a a lot of fun uh it's a blast as long as you can make it far enough to make it a blast and um just so you know heavy T does wonderful um what do you call them if someone gets kicked out heavy T we'll write you a poem forgot about the eulogies I forgot he writes eulogies for the teams that get kicked out and there a lot of fun you look forward to that every week it's a lot yeah so hey man I wish you the best of luck we're going to start this thing in about a minute and a half here um and then feel free to call back can see the entire draft all the way up until round 11 so I think we're okay yeah we're good and by the way we will have a few breaks we do have some ffpc commercials we can't do this whole thing for three hours and I have to trust me uh it's a long a long effort hopefully it's not three hopefully it's not oh last year I think we were done in two so here we go it's 620 shall shall we start this thing it looks like everybody is on except for a few stragglers um but uh let's let's uh let's start this thing let's start this draft and if they're gonna autodraft they're gonna autodraft I guess but here we go here we go thoughts and prayers we're starting and we are live baby that wonderful sound right there minute 30 Matty D CD lamb number one overall do you hate that love it you know a lot of people are high on CD lamb this year I personally am not one of them but that's just me um it's it's an okay pick uh like I said you know my you know what I said about my running back thing like I feel like you have to come away with one of them and if you're at 1-1 taking a receiver I mean that works for you I guess I I couldn't do it christian mcaffrey that's a good pick there and wow a reyolds right away knew who he wanted uh going that route um I'm going to be in a bind here I will tell you that right now I I'm looking at who's available immediately this okay well that was one of my options so this gonna get real interesting real quick I'm gonna do this and I think it's smart um it is it is full PPR and and I I I do like Bree Hall here but I was on bejon and it got robbed from me and Bree Hall injury kind of still scares me a little bit and that team does a little bit too but I know Tyreek Hill and his quest for 2000 and I'm in on the Dolphins this year I'm going Tyreek here I'll be honest I think Tyreek is probably the one receiver I would make an exception to for that Eliot jams going with Jefferson with the quarterback Who uh Sam darnold I think right that's what yeah yeah I mean hey he is considered the best receiver there um sad boy is a800 sad boy great the Mr Krabs picture makes it so much better it does it totally does how's this all on edge here heavy T does he have you on edge because I know you have an option in place and I have one option that I like more than Jamar Chase played it safe I think I know you going here my number one option I know you're scared of him but I will gladly take yeah yeah yeah I would in your case as well um now you could kind of focus on your receivers and not to worry about that I'm going to have to worry about it but I didn't think Tyreek Hill would be there um at that point so they call me cat on the board here 115 to go filibusters joined I think we're just missing three-point stanhill and fantasy allarm we'll see how it all plays out I think you think Al is gonna be here or is he just going to uh autodraft the whole thing I have no idea AJ Brown that's that's I you know I'm not high on any Philly guys this year really going to be spread around a lot I'm not high on saquon either I would rather take Jonathan Taylor over saquin I would rather take you know look at Travis over rather not I would honestly I would do etn over both of those guys Garrett Wilson that's a that's gonna be a solid pick if Rogers stays healthy just heard orc we just heard orc on the on the Callin line here we'll see uh where he's gonna go I do like that Gary Wilson pick there for you're getting him yeah what 110 that's pretty solid I think 111 111 for Barkley I think is okay think that's yeah because you're not going to get him at 111 probably in a normal 12 person Team league no no no no fade away Jonathan Taylor I like that pick right there Workhorse uh when he came back last year he was great and he's gonna have Anthony R Richardson kind of taking some off him so they can't just load the box I like that pick right there fing that I should probably mute my sleeper settings because I'm gonna have about a 100 notifications by the time this thing ding ding ding ding exactly that's exactly was kind I'm like man my watch is vibrating who's trying to get a hold of me and I'm like all right cool I already have 10 sleeper notifications yeah so I think Al is autod draing I'll text yeah shot let let Al let him let just let him know you know is he the Al from Al's Toy Barn by any chance I wish so I would actually be fine I'm I'm actually fine taking jir games and I have in most of my drafts already yeah so I think Al's going to be autod drafting luckily I could put him on auto draft yeah okay yeah wow poor Dak had to wait forever for that one um and what's funny is I think Dak uh is is a lions fan so that may have been his pck I'm on raw and and jir got yeah yeah do that's available on the board is Marvin Harrison Jr heavy what do you feel about Marvin Harris you know what I don't know there's something about me and I really hope I'm wrong because I loved his dad there's something about me telling him that telling me that he just not all it so I I don't okay I don't know but maybe it's because he's Devonte Adams Devonte Adams right there interesting pick for that maybe it's because he's like his dad and he's just Mr her antisocial already so kyen Williams for for for our boy Thomas Stevens kirn Williams pretty solid pretty he's gonna be the Workhorse I mean there's really I don't know if saw I think like an hour or two ago uh Shan McVey said that Williams is going to be the punt returner so that'll be uh that'll be interesting gonna get slammed a little bit more I guess yeah after he's came off a couple injuries last year let's just put him right back into the uh into the fold yeah all right so we got one more Auto I mean honestly look he just textt better quarterback than no but what what I'm saying is is that Drake London I think he's gonna finally show that this guy's a number one receiver I mean to be honest last year Drake London was very serviceable no he was great he was absolutely great so it's not the end of the world oh I really wanted etn I was hope he'd come back I'm high on etn this year another Workhorse back who's going to get all the touches uh for forgetting him where he did mixed with the LA pul fiction right now to me um made a good turn yeah I'm very curious to see who's going to be left I know exactly who I want I don't know if he's gonna be around because there's about one you think Brandon auk is gonna drop a little bit he might that's an interesting one I uh like if he stays in San Francisco I take him if he ends up getting traded to New England I don't even touch him yeah honestly I think the T ify goes to Pittsburgh too yeah I want to touch him at Pittsburgh at all now kind of see where the draft is going you think how many people are going to go double running back probably not a lot because the receivers are gonna go quick so you got to think before you're up here Derrick Henry okay so he went so so Thomas went dual running back wow lorta obviously for the Lions fan and then Anan there so he he went running back well he's Auto oh man UT's killing us man is absolutely killing us we got four left before me I know who I want will he be there I I'm scared I'm so scared Kelsey went before lorta it's the first time I've seen that happen Mike Evans Mike Evans is a very good pick because he's so incredibly consistent yeah very consistent yeah so I I I actually like that pick Let's see what orc does here I like the Evans combo I I really do I'm not even joking I'm literally playing like that Who Wants To Be A Millionaire music in my head [Laughter] like really thinking about this I mean as you show you got a minute you know you got a got time to figure until we get to around nine and 10 oh yeah no then a minute feels like oh my God it's one second before B off I I I should have made it a minute and I I think we did a minute and a half last year but I thought it went pretty quick so yeah AE a minute oh he went dual running back as well damn that was my pick okay now I got to regroup that was regroup here and and and you have two receiver guys right here and I think I messed up on my Tyreek Hill pick here we'll we'll see we'll see I think Tyreek Hill though will put up points up to where it'll make up for having a lower running back group in the beginning Le uh you know Time of the Season so we'll see how it all plays out but we are running low on running backs that are like a plus I think I know who I want the first quarterback of the Day Josh Allen I'm fine with that I think I know who I want will he still be there it's well I guess it's only one pick so I think this may be a running back if I had to guess Josh Allen a little high for me no he's going re receiver receiver okay you're up Budd don't get me wrong I really I really like Nico Collins and I really love tank Dell but between those two now you have Stefan Diggs Joe Mixon who can catch and Dalton Schultz there's a little too many M to Good News everybody is finally here so that's awesome I am going to do this someone else just try to call in who that oh Matt sells is here good we'll bring him on after he makes his next pick I'm finally you and DJ bar he was my boy last year I got him in the fifth round last year and everyone was talking crap on this show but guess what happened Bud guess what happed he turned it around I will give him that he turned around started I feel like I had him and BR iuk as my top two receivers and and it did really well for me not going to lie all right so sad boy what you this is gonna be another running back run I Know It uh yeah it's this is gonna be interesting this is GNA be Josh Jacobs 100% because our boy Elliot jamson the Drew show is a fan of the Packers I'm I'm gonna I'm Inna rock in a hard place here but I got to do it I'm taking a guy who was on my team last year as well he's going to be my rb1 but he's the only rb1 on this team and he also gets a lot of receptions out of the back field so going rashed wght right here that's fair that's a good pick because by the time it comes back I'm going to be stuck with uh Kenneth Walker something I don't want that as my number one running back looking down the list there's some interesting options in here I love how Jordan Addison is still like number 85 yeah that should be that's that's not good um Tyreek Hill and white so I'm looking who could get me for the first three weeks of the season right oh Mixon Robinson combo for I'm not gonna lie Mixon was one of the guys I was looking at so that's what we'll do is Matt s Wade In the Wings we'll bring him him on after he makes his next pick because then it's a long way back before he has to to pick again and and we'll do that and then we'll uh we'll have some fun we'll have some fun Mixon beon man Matthew SS couldn not pick that faster hey it's Randle our boy Randall tell Randle to call in I want to talk to Randall uh he may or may not be able to he is going to Lamar Jackson Randall he is going to Dodgers Orioles tonight so he may may or not be able to make the game okay and St Brown Diggs and mcaffrey to Doge we're at the point in the evening where a lot of quarterbacks will top on the board Devon Smith okay you got to pick a receiver now Matthew SS you got to pick a receiver you got it I could see him just not doing it he he is he is throw throw a monkey wrench in the whole thing or if that's even how you say it I'm not sure but I no I think well throwing a wrench in it but should I do the Tyreek kill jayen w combo no uh that's uh no no no no because like there were plenty of times last year where waddle just did not get the touches that he should have gotten he just stole my pick and I hate it with absolute passion see it oh man my running backs are GNA be weak aren't they I'm curious to see who you go here I actually am got three picks before me I I I just literally lost debbo and Pitman in the last three so I need a a breath here I need a breath oh man injury scare [Music] me oh man I can't do it I can't sh I'm not picking neighbors I'm I'm panicking he's panicking I'm with Rasheed Wright and Tyreek Hill how am I doing um I think you're doing okay okay what I need to personally like my combo better than your combo but then again I'm drafting my team and not your team so yeah yeah that's true there's always that uh um no I went I went running back running back because in an 18 Team league running back is bound to dry up quickly and if I have a couple of solid running backs as I grow a cat tail my cat is welcome to Welcome to the draft show cat yeah there there you go um she's been on almost every NASCAR pod I've ever done true there goes Wadd Elliot jams going with the w figure if I get a decent combo of wide receivers I can survive a couple of weeks and then yeah see I got Josh Jacobs taken from me on the way there and then I got Pitman and Samuel taken from me on the way there I really wanted Jacob's Fallen to me but it wasn't gonna Happ that wasn't gonna happen I would have taken him if U Elliot did not three dudes with very late by weeks is pretty nice too yeah and but a league like this do you really look at by weeks when you have so much Fab and and things you could do if I'm torn between two guys I would rather take the later bye in a guillotine League it's true because if if especially draft like later on I don't care because those guys are you know Flyers anyway sorry I'm just watching heavy te Sweat Right here I'm like dude Ken Walker was way pushed down Gino was a quarterback three and then Seattle basically you know exceeded expectations and all of those guys crushed at ADP last year Tampa Bay was the same way Godwin uh Evans R Rashad white all pushed down and white and Evans both gave you top six seasons Baker Mayfield ends up getting a quarterback 11 or whatever he finished at so I don't know if it's going to be bom Knicks but I do think this offense could exceed expectations Portland Sutton's interesting because you talk about getting off to a fast start he's at at that point where until one of these wide receivers breaks through courland Sutton could see a Target share that's more like one of his top Seasons than like previous Seasons where I think they're going to have to use cland Sutton they also question marks at tight end so it's running back wide receiver two tight end question marks everywhere plus the rookie quarterback so I I think it's worth taking a shot on just because of how cheap it is but I don't think it's a team that right now you want to try to like stack and have multiple pieces on on the same roster but if it hits it could really hit I will say Bo Knicks is always targeting his running backs Bucky Irving led the nation in receptions by a rookie running back I mean by a college running back last year at Oregon I do think that's like in Bon Nick's nature the guy's a screen Merchant he likes pass around the around the line of scrimmage so Jalil if he gets that opportunity I think he could be like this year's jayen Warren I think North of 60 receptions and he'll return
