hello everyone and welcome we are surrounded by pageantry and tradition and it's clear to see that college football will be at its best today the kickoff team on the field as they'll send this one away he'll start the return inside his five and good work by the coverage team to get the Return Man Down On The Ground okay so here comes the offense for the first time today and these guys involve every body in the passing game and none more prominent than this big fella and the quarterback knows he's going to be under duress in this game so who do you look for the tight end and there aren't many better than this guy no and just big bodies that you can miss a little bit high and it really doesn't matter but over the middle of field closer throws so nice to have a security blanket with a great tile completion a little short of the sticks it's second down [Applause] they'll go to the ground nice move to keep running tackled at the 29 let's give him five on that one this is an offense that really sees their identity as being able to run the football nice job there picking up the first down the it'll be a first and 10 from the 29 they'll give it to him again he's dropped behind the line of scrimmage that'll be a loss of three that linebacker was a heat seeking missile and the heat that he sought was the ball carrier yeah great job great field linebackers are making all the calls in the defense and understanding when I need to come through that Gap and come through with bad intention those guys are usually 245 lbs of heat seeking missile he's knocked down in the back field he'll lose a couple man how about that defense on the snap they are in the back field great penetration nowhere to go for the running back that defense was sitting on G waiting on o this is a third and long looking to throw and he needs a chunk play and they can't make the play on third down well the quarterback in his intended target just simply didn't have the timing there the ball Falls incomplete on third Now setting up fourth down and here comes the punt team they'll have to punt for the first time this afternoon he's got great speed and the punt team able to smack him to the ground and a big key as this game unfolds is just how aggressive will he be throwing the football at a lock down corner like that yeah and when you're an elite quarterback you think you can do whatever you want to do and you think you can make the right decisions I'm interested to see how much he'll test that quarterback on the other side you know there's a saying there's no defense for a perfect pass but he's got to be extra careful and sharp when he's throwing that guy's way up couldn't make the connection last time let's see if they throw it again on second down they'll take to the air fires to the big fella and he laid the lumber to stop him from getting the first down third I'll say this man in college football you see a lot of bad tackling you didn't see it right there that was an awesome job first first off being there at the point of attack once the tight end made the catch there was no doubt he was going down great job form tackle they have it at the 43 third and short trying to avoid making a decision on fourth down quickly complete finally run out of bounds but he has his hopit rolling with a first down third down a lot of times it comes down to not necessarily who's the most open who do you trust the most yeah it's not about the x's and the O's it's about the G enies and the Joe's and and when my gu's better than you and I get you matched up out wide and I know I trust you I'm finding you wide receiver now comes in motion they'll give it to the back not a whole lot of room there three yards maybe second and seven and offenses want to continue to feature the Run they want balance even if it's not super successful you can take it little bit at a time just to keep that defense honest after the three- yd pickup they come to the line second and [Applause] seven he'll keep it himself and how about that interior defense stuffing the run for nothing really nice job by the defense playing responsibility football making sure the quarterback couldn't make any of his reads making sure the picture is not clear getting downhill getting the quarterback on the ground if they can convert here that type of play can really give you a shot of momentum [Applause] he finds his man and they stop him just short of the stick it'll bring up a decision on fourth down offense and that's a nice sigh of relief for the defense too right there was a broken tackle the guy made it look like he was going to pick up the first but because of great effort defensively they were able to get the Stop and now they're setting up fourth [Applause] down on fourth down they'll pass for it he's got the tie end a quick tackle made but he's got plenty for the first down and that can really take the wind out of a defense's sails when you convert with a fourth down completion great chemistry there between the quarterback and his Target fourth down you got to have it you got to be on the same page and they were there he's looking to throw it fires to the wide out makes the grab the tackle is made but he's got it first and goal from the six and I love the awareness by the wide receiver on that play because I'm not sure that route was supposed to be that deep you got to wonder if the receiver decided maybe to adjust the route a little bit to make sure that he got the first down as they get set to snap it just about to reach the end of the quarter and they'll make the Stop and we are headed to the end of the first period brings up second Ang goal that's the end defense has dominated the early part of this game and the stats point that out emphatically both sides trying to find a little rhythm and efficiency and move the ball some here as we start the second quarter he's looking to throw can't make the catch and it'll be third down he had that thing and just lost his is concentration now that's a throw in the drag route where you just got to have patience you got to let your wide receiver clear through all the bodies in the middle of the field they just couldn't hook up on that one after a drive this long a field goal would be demoralizing at this point it's third and goal from the gun wants to pass using his legs to buy some and they're in for a touchdown well that didn't necessarily go as planned but it was most effective in the end I love it Rees down in the Red Zone this quarterback didn't have anybody open didn't Panic he just decided man I'm going to go do this myself I'm going to use my wheels and put up six on the board he dides that [Music] on to attempt the tryer is on for the extra point and he's got the extra point and it's seven nothing to start this one they took it 64 yds right down the field and they punctuated it with the 5yd touchdown run the kickoff team takes the field to boot this one away here he comes from inside his own five didn't find any crease in that kickoff coverage and he'll be stopped at the 17 first down for this offense wide out in motion the hand to the running back they'll knock him down after a pick up of one to the 18 and those physical runs take a toll it might not be a big game now but down the road third fourth quarter late in the ball games they tend to turn into bigger runs didn't get much on first down it's second and [Music] [Applause] nine the give to the bat didn't find a lot of room let's give him two out to the 20 and a lot of times you want those big plays you want those Splash plays but sometimes you're going to take some losses you're not going to run the football overly well but if you continue to run it you can at least create some balance you at least have the threat of it otherwise you're just going to abandon it is going be a passing game on third down he'll try to pick it up through the air fires to the tight end and he's tripped up but not before picking up the first down well look that wasn't a touchdown that was a massive play for this offense they needed some momentum they needed to find a rhythm in what better way than converting on third down awesome job by the quarterback getting to his progression they'll start this one from the 29 on first down the offense showing motion from the tight end trying to get a read on the Deep defense closed down quickly after a gain of three they'll mark it at the 32 nice run there on first down you know this is a running back that gets better as the game goes on so they're going to want to make sure they keep feeding him the football let him get lathered up got three on first down it's second and seven back to the ground with the running back a run up the middle is stuck for no game you're going to stop the run game you better be physical up front on the defensive line they've got some MERS they've got some dudes with bad intentions nice play there they're facing a third [Applause] down from the gun wants to pass the short hands it's Allen and they'll get it to the 39 yd line and they'll move the chain we asked earlier this week who's your favorite receiver and of course he said the open one but we know who he really wants to go to on third down the best one I mean I think the open one obviously the politically correct answer but you want to find the guy that you got that great chemistry with you know exactly where he's going to be you got and that pass is intercepted taking it the other way all the way in for the touchdown look I know it's only the second quarter but we're starting to see a pretty significant Gap developed between these two teams right now no doubt when you're defense is scoring your offense is scoring good things happening for your ball Club this defense on point reading their Scouting Report making big plays [Music] he'll try to tack on one more for the extra point and the extra point makes it 14 [Applause] nothing they'll kick it off and send that defense right back out there to try to score again after the pick six and he takes this from inside the five really disciplined job by the coverage unit to get down there and make the stop at the 19 first down here with time for maybe one more play until the two-minute warning wasting no time throwing on this drive got his man downfield and works it through the 40 yd line that'll be a first down we've reached the two-minute warning and this thing has been one-sided and they hope to at least have something to feel good about going into halftime starting this drive like that is exactly what they' hoped for now first and 10 from the 40 he's going to pass finds the tight end they'll wrestle him down just short of the first down I don't even think they're going to bring out the change to measure this one well this tight end he's got size and he's got some athleticism and he's very difficult to cover one-onone defense is going to have their hands full with him today clock's running and they'll try to get to the line War speed for second [Applause] down he's looking to throw just a short pass to the tight end dragged down at the 46 after a pick up of five and the first down ever since they invented the forward pass the tight ends have been running the drag and getting the first down I I think it's because the tight ends so much versatility you know they can block and stay in the formation or they can release and come out but either way if the quarterback's patient most of the time that drag route's going to come over gets it out fast running through contact oh and what a move what a Juke and he makes it past the marker that's what tight ends are supposed to do just have people bouncing off them like spitballs off a battleship hey and when you're a defense you got to understand we got to swarm to the football cuz these big dudes they break tackles and they can get loose if we're not tackling with multiple guys nice effort by the big fell there's a timeout called as this offense tries to find a way to draw a little closer and I don't care if I get it by two by 20 by 30 by 40 I I just I just want to get the first down understanding the situation understanding where the sticks are doesn't have to be sexy but I got to make sure I get to that stick get to the first down Mark and this junior quarterback shows you why the scouts love that big arm of his this is a great way to control Tempo control the game feeding the tight end and they've done it beautifully here in the first half you find great matchups where you see I mean you think about it he's too good to be covered by linebackers you like your matchup versus a safety so zoner man whatever you want to do I'm going to find the big fella because he's going to be open most of the time that throw and catch gets them down to the six and the defense is running out of answers well the defense playing Zone coverage there they're taking away all the QB's primary options down the field so he has to check it down to the drag running underneath he wants to throw here on second down he makes a grab a nice job by the defense there tackling the catch and smothering the tight end they know this offense is going to try to find him in the passing game in a lot of different situations that time perfect coverage and nice job bringing the big guy down not easy to do third and goal for the offense from the gun wants to pass might be looking to and into the end zone for a touchdown and that's a nice drive a nice physicality punching it in with the Run game and here's the thing I like where this offense is going nice job creating some momentum going into the half cutting down the lead this thing could get really exciting nice job answering the Bell right before the half [Applause] now they'll line up for what they hope is automatic and after the extra point they've cut the lead in half down 14-7 so an 82 yd drive there and they punctuated it with the 5yd touchdown run the kickoff team out there set to boot it away kickoff from inside his own 10 let's see what he gets slips through the line he's got it out he's going to get loose he won't get him it's a touchdown that dude ought to have a lethal sticker on his helmet anytime he touches it it can be a score he touched it and it was no doubt unbelievable speed and if you're back in for a Ki off obviously you got those Wheels but to be able to get through and me guess what no Flags you know it's going to count great job by the Special Teams being special getting set for the point after on for the extra point and the extra point puts them on top 21 to7 not much coaches love more than finding points on special teams in that 94 yd touchdown return gave it to them so they got the touchdown and as they kick off really important for the defense to shut them down here here's the return from inside is 10 find he's just enough space across the 25 let's mark it at the 27 yd Line running out of time here in the first half they're going to have to be efficient to put some points on the board before the break here's the handoff good solid run on that one as he gets it up to the 33 yd line we got a timeout here late in the first half and they'll try to get more points on the board before the break on second down wants to throw it not much of a chance there he just had to get rid of it to avoid the sack couldn't find his man last time now they'll have to convert third and four from the gun wants to pass he's got his man he's run out of bounds but he's got enough to move the sticks it's tough on the defense there third down you're in zone coverage everybody's watching the quarterback and you're trying to make a break on the ball but he just got it out of his hands too quickly and the throw was too accurate really nothing you can do there and it's now a fresh set of downs one more play before the teams head to the the locker rooms he wants to throw he lofs one down the sideline it's incomplete and they tried to finish this quarter with a bang and couldn't quite connect that's going to wrap up the first half here and now we join Kevin with the halftime update guys who's got a better seat there in Murphreesboro than you do a captivating game so far and it's been said football is a game of inches and guess one based on the comparison between third down conversion rate today and the average yard per play how can you argue that I mean the low-lying fruit is to look at some of the explosive plays we've seen in panic but really this game is going to come down to which team is more efficient when they have the ball and how they play when it matters most and with that let's send it back to the guys at Floyd [Applause] Stadium kickoff and kickoff return turn teams on the field and we are just about ready to go in the second half he'll bring it back from inside his SP not a lot of space to be found good Hustle by the coverage team and they stop him at the 21 here comes the offense on first down going to the run to start this second half defense there to stop him after a gain of one to the 22 BRS up second didn't get much on first down it's second and nine he's looking to throw makes to grab on the left still running at the 40 and the explosiveness the big Gainer gets it to the 49 yd line how nice is it as a quarterback when you don't have to throw post routs to get great stats no I just throw it quickly to one of the fastest players in the entire nation and let him burn this defense it'll be a first down from the 49 yd line they'll leave it with him and he'll pick up one it brings up second and nine gain of one second down coming up got a little work done on first down now back to the line give to the running back that's what you expect from a Senor don't give them any extra yards great tackle there I never know if it's grammatically correct say a team is being out physical you hear it a lot in football though that's happening in this game they are just not getting the push they need all game long up front to have any success when they decide to run it fast motion from the offense on third down he drops to throw he's got it and you can see the offense just feeling itself they've got it down to the 21 on third down offenses have their plays what they like and third and short but they like third and medium third and long great job by the offense having success now it's Inc combing upon the defense to learn their plays and try to shut it down throughout the game looking to go up top on first down got his man down the middle and he's able to shed one tackle and gets a pretty good pickup I think that time offensively you're just trying to take what the defense is giving you right they playing Zone coverage you got your big fow just working right over the ball it's an easy pitch and catch just take the profit and let's keep going and here comes the offense on second down looking for a physical attack from the gun not a lot of daylight there let's give him one to the 14 BRS up third they'd love to pick up this third down and get a fresh set with first and goal moving the running back trying to get the D to tip its hand they turn to the passing game on Third and short he's there to make the stop but not before he sets up this offense first and goal from the seven really nice job there by the quarterback understanding that it's Zone coverage on third down you're going to have to find someone working into a soft spot get the ball out of your hands quickly make an accurate throw and pick up the first well done lets it fly makes the catch and gets the score really nice job by awareness too from that guy he's working the back line of the end zone it's so easy to step out of bounds there but he knew where it was and when he made the catch he made sure just to get one toe down to secure the TD [Music] [Music] they'll try to add another to their [Applause] lead and the extra point is true and the lead balloons to 21 so it's an 80 yard drive and they close the deal with the seven Y for the score about to kick it off after punching get in for the touchdown on the move from inside is five didn't find any crease in that kickoff coverage and he'll be stopped at the 17 they'll get this drive going from the 17 give to the single back and he won't quite get there but boy after that pick up just a few inches to go for the first an array of possibilities here man when I can run the football like that on first down and create second and inches and and stay way ahead of the sticks and and be in a position now where I can throw the football or run I will have a lot of success on the offensive side of to the ground with the back he's dropped behind the line of scrimmage that'll be a loss of three man what a play by that defensive lineman you you could say he was channeling his inner poock and that's what defensive lineman do big fast one of the most athletic players on the field getting in the back field just beautiful you know you could have shown a little humility there in said a shots are and he's still running after the move hit the afterburners kid and it's in there for a touchdown oh the offense shows some life here and cuts into the lead with that scho and man they needed it they had to have something to go right listen still down this is a great start to getting back in this ball game [Music] [Applause] ready to try the point after and with the extra point they Trail by two touchdowns 2814 quick strike offense on that three playay scoring drive and they get it done with a big play a 76 Y for the score lining up to cover the kick after that touchdown Drive this one away on the run from inside his zone five nice job executing all of the assignments as they put a stop to that return at the 22 the offense set for a first down play a quick pass to the left and they'll finally catch up to him but not before a big chunk of yardage is picked [Music] up for first down offense set on first [Applause] down just about ready to go in the fourth and we'll see if any drama can be mustered offense lines up for a first and 10 from the 43 looking to move it through the air it's caught downfield they're ripping off chunks of yardage take get it to the 33 there are a lot of offensive coordinators out there a similar situation with a lead like this uh they'd definitely be running the ball at this point uh they probably take their starting quarterback out of the game potentially but not this unit they are still staying aggressive they're still taking shots they're just trying to light up the [Music] scoreboard grabbed behind the line it's Allen they make the stop after the catch and still some work to do to pick up that first down I love an offense that wants to stay aggressive even when you've got the lead late in a game like this right you still try to find your Playmakers and get them the ball in space and that is exactly what this offense is doing after the good pickup on first down let's see if they keep it on the ground on second down wants to throw finds his Target down the middle and they reacted well to the completion but it was too late to keep them from getting the first down you know what's interesting at this point of the game with the lead in the fourth quarter the defense is expecting them to run the ball and because they're putting so many guys close to the line of scrimmage they're taking advantage throwing it two straight completions now back to back trying to cap this drive with a pass he got it they'll Mark him down at the two the excellent execution on that throwing catch he just keeps piling up numbers with completion after completion in this standout performance and I think some people might say late in the game you got the win everything's in hand be a little bit conservative or you just say I'm just going to keep doing me and what I do with this offense is throw the football all the yard and I'm going to try to win the AIG big trophy at the end of the year and the offense trying now to put this thing away they're going to keep running the football to keep bleeding the clock they've got the lead here late now down by the goal line just take as many seconds off the clock as you can before snapping this football and keep running it clock continues to run and they'll be happy to wind it all the way down before they snap it on second and goal he gets another chance just hammer it with this running back again and he knows is his way into the end zone Precision blocking up front created the open Lane and the running back followed it beautifully yeah it's pretty easy to follow an offensive line that makes those holes and just gives you a caravan all the way to the end zone what an unbelievable job blocking up [Music] front lining up to tack one more onto that lead and the extra points splits the uprights and they're up a full three touchdowns a 21-point cushion in the [Music] fourth kickoff team has the ball teed up and they're about ready to go from inside the 10 here he comes really disciplined job by the coverage unit to get down there and make the stop at the 19 to the air on first down pulls it in it's Allen now they've got even more grieving room out to the 31 and a fresh set of downs love the location of the throw on that slant pass put it out in front of the receiver put it on his face mask so he can catch it and try to advance it's first and 10 from the 31 [Applause] he's looking to throw it that's reeled in it's Allen two minutes now left in this one and time is running short if they want to find a way to pull this one out trying to convert this second and short he's looking to throw using the quick game and they'll move the chains and get it to the 47 yd line well if you could give a helmet sticker to this defensive coaching staff they would get one because of the plan they've had for this guy at wide receiver he is one of the best in the entire country with his speed and his athleticism but they have had a plan for him whether it's man coverage Zone they've been able to double him they've been able to change up the looks and they have not not been able to get him involved in the game and that's why they're going to win this one pressure coming on the move he fires calls it in they immediately call timeout trying to preserve every second they can to try to rally herly from inside the 40 at the 37 it's first down he's going to pass unloads it left how about getting the foot down on that throw for the big completion well this offense has a ton of work left ahead of him here in this two-minute situation late in the game but the drive off to a good start you get the first down you get out of bounds you work in the perimeter of the field that is exactly what you want to do just on the edge of the Red Zone first and 10 from the 21 a little screen to the running back and he'll step out of bounds after a very productive play and this offense is going to have to find more explosive plays and it's it's they can't just rely on the Dink and Duncan's going to have to find itself and score more points listen they got beat up today but moving on in the future they've got some good pieces they got to find a way to fit them together create some explosive plays on this offense cuz today they've been lacking back to the air one more time caught near the sideline it's Matthews goes out of bounds but they'll be set up with a first and goal hey you know the defense here in this situation with a huge lead they've got to anticipate that this offense is going to be trying to throw the ball to the sideline so they got to work different coverages to try to force the quarterback to go over the middle of the field with the [Applause] football they'll go to the air snags it that completion has them right on the doorstep they'll mark it at the one the offense gets a quick timeout at this point every second is precious boy if that first down play was any indication they might walk this thing in on second and goal and he can't find his man as he was trying to pay off this Red Zone opportunity and this is just one of those days man where everything has gone wrong right like they just haven't been in a rhythm they haven't they haven't got it going and never built the momentum this is this is one of those days you learn from you try to grow from a lot of things that we're going to show in the film room that people aren't going to like but hopefully you can learn from it and do better next time and it's in for a touchdown nice job by the offense going down the field putting points on the board but you're still down a couple possessions still need some good things to happen you need your kicker to go over there and get warmed up we need an onside we need to score some points we need a lot of things to go right to win this football [Music] [Music] game ling up to add another is on for the extra and the extra point is good but they still Trail 3521 so it's an 80 yd drive and it was capped off by a one yd touchdown pass they're definitely up against it time running out down two possessions they'll try the onside kick they were ready for the onside kick and executed perfectly and they secure the football offense getting set for first down quarterback will take a KN the defense can stop it one more time but we are close to being all she wrote [Music]
