much of a chance to talk about the game Friday night because it came on a Friday and so much happened afterwards but there was really sort of a good a bad and an ugly with Jaylen Herz the good he was much better against the Blitz the Packers Blitz Herz nine times he was six of eight for 91 yards in a touchdown on those plays the bad was his Precision he was 0 for five on tight window throws which means his Target had fewer than a yard of separation from the defender one of those was an interception and then the ugly which was the turnover as he finish game with two picks and a fumble lost those three turnovers are tied for the most in a game in his career so we gave Hawk a little assignment we said hawk I want you to study the tape of Jaylen herdson week one and show me exactly what you see and I think you found a very interesting line of delineation the way that Kell Moore deployed pre- snap motion helped jayen hert significantly so here's the touchdown to saquan Bary what you're going to see they do a little shift they're going to send the receiver in an orbit motion on a playaction wheel concept with two posts to the to the front side now what this does is it shifts the the Packers linebackers over and gives sequan barle this Edge obviously great throw but incredible play made by Squan barle that not very many running backs can do here's the interception where it's just straight static lineup and run it and Jaylen Herz has problems seeing the field and making those decisions he made some bad decisions when there was no pre- snap motion because the pre- snap of motion allows him to stretch the defense as horizont onally and it gives him a clear picture much faster his numbers on pre- Snap motion were I believe 16 for 21 22 and two touchdowns with no pre- snap motion 5 for 13 66 yards and two picks yeah so so that's as good as it gets or at least as as specific as it gets so the football fan who never played and never coached will say well seems pretty simple to me why don't we just use pre- snap motion on every single play how how how is it as simple as that is it as simple as he sees the field better better things happen when we utilize it Kell Moore is a new fangled offensive coordinator and play caller yeah I think Kell Moore had a lot of time to prepare for one game and Kell Moore did an awesome job doing that the challenge is going to be with this team to continue to do that when you only have a week and it's very difficult cuz Kell Moore has a lot of talented players on his team in a good offensive line which presents other problems he has to figure out how to get them all the ball and also how to attack every point of the field while also installing these motions and shifts it's a lot to do in a series of time that play to Sequon was beautiful they had both of their really talented receivers over there during post taking a bunch of attention that way orbit motion shifts the linebackers and takes attention that way all of a sudden you're like oh damn saquon wide open in the end zone that's a hard thing to do week in and week out create those schematic advantages and and there going to be times in big games in the playoffs when we're not going to be able to create an advantage for you we're going to have to line up and play that's when you need your quarterback let me say this though you asked and is it possible absolutely I mean think about the Rams and think about San Francisco cuz they do it and they're going to continue to do it until they're not coaching anymore so can they do it absolutely Kell Moore can do it the issue becomes protection and how does that affect where were you going to have free blitzers coming off and how fast can he deliver the ball the SEC the the interception he threw in the Red Zone when he's rolling out and throws it against his body bad decision the static will come out of the end zone his eyes should have never been on the guy running down the seam right like you you can't do those things so as he why why you going to throw back to the middle of the field in the Red Zone you know everybody's camped out their heels are on on the in line right in zone line it makes no sense that's the type of decision making you're talking about but it's not just shifts emotions it's calming him it's calming him down right pull the ball down and go get out of bounds man it makes no sense a lot of a lot of the talk heading into that game was Jaylen Herz how is he going to handle the blitz well when they send extra when the Falcon sent extra guys I think he completed 75% of his passes for 91 yards so there are thing there glimmers of Hope like this offense looked better saquon Barkley another question of is is Kell Mo going to going to utilize him the way he should be or is he just going to try to force that that Ball Deep to AJ Brown and Devonte Smith I thought we saw good signs but we can't say that Jaylen Herz has turned the corner when he has five straight games with interceptions which is the longest active streak among quarterback and again the three turnovers it was very quickly you're talking about creating mismatch advantages isn't AJ Brown a human mismatch isn't dvon Smith a human mismatch isn't saquon Barkley a human mismatch is I mean what what am I missing here to to a degree but there's some really good dudes like him out there so when you say sometimes a guy just got to win right and that's true and can Brown go win when you got one but but you have to get it to man on manto man that's that's the issue and and all at the end of all plays it's going to turn to manto man somehow but at what at some point your guy has to go win but you have to set him up to get that look to get that where he can take advantage it's all about where the pressure is going to be and the as much pressure you can take take off of your quarterback the better off he's going to be there are going to be times when you can't give him advantages all the times that you can give it to him make life easy there's also like these really good offensive coordinators are mad scientists like yeah you're calling plays for this moment for this game but you're not only setting up plays for the for the end of this game you're setting up plays for three weeks from now five weeks from now you're giving certain looks knowing that you're going to cash it in at the right time and you're going to create that balance bad offensive coordinators just kind of keep going to the same well all right we're going to get back to that as we go we have tons more football to get to but a fascinating event is coming up this weekend our next stop is going to be Vegas where no UFC is set to take place inside the sphere commemorating Mexican Independence Day sha Ali will headline the main event and I had a chance to catch up with Dana White earlier this week to get the detail it is going to be a very special night for a very special reason again this Saturday is the start of Mexican Independence Day weekend and thus UFC 306 is titled no UF C being held at the legendary sphere I think we can now call it legendary despite the fact that it is relatively new it's all anyone is talking about it it's going to be a huge night and Dana White is here to talk about it how how did you come up with this concept for this night in this very special place so Tom Brady actually called me and asked if I wanted to go to YouTu with him and it was at the sphere and um I went that night I'm watching the show and halfway through the show I start to realize that the sphere is the star of the show not you two it's it's a really unique venue and uh you sit back and we were actually in Dolan's box and and you're watching everything that's going on on the screen you're listening to YouTube's Greatest Hits basically and every once in a while you look over and you look down and see you to then you take it in again and I'm like this is fascinating this is like nothing I've ever experienced before I want to do a live event here so I called my head of production Craig borsari and I said I don't know what you're doing next weekend but cancel it you're coming to the sphere I want you and the boys to come and walk through this I want to do an event here and now here we are so what's it going to look like give us a sense obviously in the building will be one experience and everyone else witnessing it will be another experience what will it how will it look different based upon the uniqueness of the venue so a sporting event has never been done here and what I love the most about it is that people said it couldn't be done I love those kind of challenges so and like I just told you the sphere was the star of the show so what we had to figure out is how do you take all the the technology and all the great things that is the sphere yet you have to pay attention to the fights when the fights are happening so we created this movie that I call a love letter to Mexico right that talks about their culture their history and more importantly um you know the fighting Spirit of Mexico uh the place that they hold in Combat Sports all the greats that have ever come from there so all of this is going to be combined into a live event so we have this movie and we have chapters of the movie so one chapter of the movie will play then a fight will happen another chapter will play then a fight will happen and this thing starts at the beginning of time and ends in the future of Mexico that is such a fascinating idea where you come up with these things I have no idea and you're also going to be featuring sha Omi who OB he's this is one of these guys for those who don't follow the sport who has broken the internet a few times with somebody spectacular uh Knockouts and things like that that he is known for what does he specifically bring to this event on a night where you're doing something that has really never been done yeah so Al has become
