Why Celebrities Attend Shows? (Fashion TV) Laura Dern Demi Moore André Leon Talley Ashley Judd

[Music] all kinds of celebrities have been making the rounds at the fashion shows recently and with good reason obviously designers want celebrities there to help sell the clothes and add an element of Glamour to their presentations but celebrities often have their own agendas are you are honored when a celebrity like Laura Duran shows up to the show that's okay now you've got a new movie coming out too though don't you yeah okay something called citizen Ruth for mirama Max and I just started to write a a animation movie for DreamWorks called El Dorado I have a record with Mr Pavarotti coming out in November publicity now why would I mention my movie High School High that's coming out this weekend at a fashion show I didn't come here for the publicity the media circus at Fashion collections seems to grow every season which allows stars to extend their publicity coverage to the fashion press and fashion designers to attract the entertainment press they know that the fashion Buzz is the thing it's the hot thing it's the hot popcorn it's the hot tamale darling I mean let's face it Hollywood is has no style it has no class anymore fashion is the new Hollywood Michael and this is one lady who really does know about fashion I mean not everyone in Hollywood does you certainly do and and what a compliment I guess it is for you to have her it is she looks so gorgeous I want to put her on the [Music] runway and you know what it is is we I think that this is my first fashion show the she's ever seen a fash show I've never been to a fashion show ever in my life why she she just wants so I I um I think that it's much more about you know just a real friendship that just so happens to be with somebody who is a an actress and somebody who's a designer and the rest of it was just we're playing to have a good [Music] time although friendships between stars and designers are often genuine when celebrities attend shows walk runways and appear in ad campaigns some suggest relationships may be based more on business than friendship I'm not very impressed when I see the stars sitting front line because I know that at least at least half the time maybe 90% of the time they're paid to be there they're either paid a flat fee which can be a huge amount of money or they're somehow signed up to a house or there's somehow an arrangement whereby they're dressed why are you here at Cynthia show Cynthia's been giving me clothing for my tour is that why you're here to support the designer or just for your own purposes both a mutual kind of thing [Music] yeah the combination of fashion and Hollywood adds a new dimension to both the shows and the celebrities who attend Stars lend their glamour to a designer's label and fashion gives the Stars a stylish image I think is mutual sometimes the designer help sometimes the star help is a mutual work it's mutual collaboration [Music] n
