button on this episode we are taking you on a journey to one of the most mesmerizing destinations in the United states have a Supai Falls in Arizona for years we have been trying to get permits to hike down to the falls and this year was our lucky year we headed out to Peach Springs Arizona to the caverns Inn the night before to pick up our permits and stay the night the caverns Inn was a perfect place to stay before our hike the restaurant had great food the rooms were clean and there were a few things to do at the hotel that kept us busy for the night you'll never get out of [Music] there we our dinner partner for tonight now if you've never heard of Havasupai Falls or Havasu Falls as some people call it located within the Havasupai Indian Reservation making it one of the most unique destinations in the world the name Havasupai translates to people of the blue green waters and once you see the mesmerizing Hues of the falls you'll understand why the next morning our friends Leslie and Liz joined us as we headed to the trail head at Hue alipay Hilltop that was about 65 M from the hotel make sure to Gess up before you get there because there is nothing around the parking lot was full but we found a spot that was close to the trail head as we got closer to the trail head and the edge of the cliff you can see how steep the trail is as it lowers into the canyon getting to have a suply Falls is not for the faint of heart but trust me the journey is well worth it it is a 10m hike down into the canyon the trail to the falls is a mix of challenging terrain and breathtaking views you'll hike through narrow switchbacks Rocky paths and towering Cliffs all while being surrounded by the beauty of the Grand Canyon look at that that is beautiful as you make your way down be sure to take your time and soak in the stunning Landscapes surrounding you it was a beautiful morning with temperatures about 60° we started down the trail with excitement we met up with a team of donkeys the donkeys knew the trail and could care less if you were there or not we pushed along down into the canyon taking in the Tak miles but about 3 miles in the worst thing that could happen happened I put my foot down into a pile of rocks that shifted around my boot and as I tried to take it out the Rocks grabbed a hold of my boot and my leg would not let go I dropped like a sack of potatoes as a pain shot through me I thought I broke my ankle but they got me off the trail and once the shock and pain subsided I was able to get back on my feet and move it felt like a bad sprain but not a break Don grabbed my pack and carried his and mine and we continue the rest of the way for another s miles go without the [Music] pasture hey babe your Pac meal was a little just no I love you [Music] the trip down was slow but we finally got to the Supai Village the heart of have a Supai reservation letting us know we are only 2 miles to the campground The Village was a lot bigger than what I expected and the people there were super friendly the last 2 miles seemed like it took forever but once we saw the first waterfall our Jaws dropped the turquoise water of the Havasupai Falls was breathtaking this is what we came for it was worth every painful step oh wow can't ground actually made it that was a long hike in a really long hike in with a sprained ankle I probably look like crap but I'm here almost almost come in sit down put my foot up and enjoy the fruits of my labor Camp came up quick and we took the first spot we saw it was close to the ranger station and to the bathrooms we tried to find a better spot but it seemed like it was super crowded that night we made it it we're here [Music] it's bruised you got bruis all right here look at the side over here yeah that's that's the side that's really swollen but I got a bruise down here I saw that I saw that earlier the are we going to wrap that thinking Elevate Elevate at you have the ice too you're not to elevate tonight you're just going to be I'm going to be out yeah me just wrapping it it's best I can do yeah she that up yep also you can carry the bags things I go through well played oh do I have to oh there you go dinner time do I use this fork or the spoon side we have both I know me too oh you got one fancy that night we had some fry bread and dinner and fell asleep to the sounds of the waterfalls the next morning we headed to Mooney Falls my ankle was super bruised and swollen but I could still walk on it the hike to Mooney through the campground was beautiful and peaceful it looked as though most of the campers had left that morning and the next group wasn't there yet oh h [Music] I do need to get out leg up [Music] on this is gorgeous we got to the falls and the view from the top was magical if you were scared of heights and do not want to take the cliff down to Mooney Falls you should still take the trail to the top of the falls Mooney Falls is a majestic 200t waterfall that will take your breath away [Music] we started head down the trail and with each step the adventure became more and more exciting the trail to monei Falls is super Steep and challenging you are literally scaling a cliff oh man all right you sent at your own risk oh look at that straight down we got through the two caves when we came to the ladders oh yeah oh my gosh looks so much better if you're out of the way in this video get down get down so you can see yeah yeah this is it that wasn't it this is it there's all the gloves this must be where you need them then oh man was my heart pounding the waterfall was spraying the cliff making everything wet Dawn went first and guided me down with my ankle we were not sure if I was going to be able to make it it was slow going down but I made it my husband was amazing he helped guide my foot for every step I took I never felt like I was going to fall oh go ahead babe get the rest of the way down now all the way from up there woo that is no joke that's where I came off of right there so I can see this look at that cue it was scary and it was hard but we made it and it was worth it the reward of standing at the base of this towering waterfall is truly Unforgettable I made it I'm here even with a bumped ankle I got it so pretty it is isn't it [Music] hi ducky we spent some time at the Falls waiting for a break and people coming down so we could head back up meet you guys at Camp got wait for okay I'll see you in a little bit okay Lesley and Liz kept going to Beaver Falls where they saw some desert sheep on the trail hi oh sweet Jesus you pretty that's not sketchy at all oh okay Beaver Falls is a series of stunning Cascades that offer the perfect spot for swimming and relaxing in nature the adventure of Moone Falls isn't over yet you still need to climb up the cliff to get to your campsite the one that you just climbed down it's a challenging requiring strength agility and nerves of steal there you go yep grab that rope yep the sound of the Roaring water the Mist spraying in your face soaking you from head to toe the adrenaline pumping through your veins it's a thrill like no other and probably one of my most favorite parts of the trip you want to go up right [Music] there Ro got into the Rocks anymore so don't pull out on almost almost easier going up way easier hi thank you and finally as you reach the top of Mooney Falls the sense of accomplishment washes over you you did it you conquered your fears pushed your limit and witness Nature's raw power in all its Glory your hair is soaking wet when we got back to our camp we found another site that was empty right on the Stream So we moved our camp this right here mhm put it uh in the sun right yep I got on the bench then we headed to the main attraction hav a Supai Falls to relax and soak in the 100t waterfall that dumps into this vibrant turquoise blue below let's go down there Leslie and Liz later joined us after their hike to Beaver Falls it was so nice to take a moment and cool off in the refreshing Waters and to Simply sit back and Marvel at the beauty that surrounded us yeah once you're in you're in yeah literally right here huh we ended our last night relaxing at our camp spot enjoying the beautiful location and great conversation the next day we packed up early and headed out we had one more day on our permit but with my ankle we decided to helicopter out and they were not flying the next day we headed back to the village and we got there about 7:00 a.m. there was about 10 people ahead of us for the flight while we waited we watched as the helicopter brought tribal members in and move supplies out something you don't get to see every day we knew we were in for a long weit so we made the best of our time we got one more round of fry bread while watching the community tribal just adding to this amazing adventure it was finally our turn to fly out I got [Music] it the ride was short but [Music] spectacular oh
