typhoon hyan known as Yolanda in the Philippines struck on November 8th 2013 as one of the strongest tropical Cyclones ever recorded packing Winds of 195 mph it devastated the Eastern Vayas particularly taban City the typhoon caused massive Storm surges leading to over 6,000 confirmed deaths and displacing millions infrastructure was obliterated homes were destroyed and access to basic necessities was severely compromised the internal Community responded with Aid and support yet recovery proved challenging due to ongoing poverty and lack of infrastructure hyen underscored the urgent need for better disaster preparedness and climate resilience in vulnerable regions worldwide
