Dugout poll question of the show and I ask you guys over on the X what is your biggest Dodgers concern right now and 30% of you say Will Smith struggles 47% of you say Tyler glass now's injury 11% say Freddy's finger 12% say other so let me know down below what is your biggest Dodgers concern right now but first we got to start the show with the leadoff the hottest story in Dodger [Music] baseball so your Los Angeles Dodgers lose yesterday to the Baltimore Orioles they're still in the first place of the NL West they're three games up on the Arizona Dbacks they have the best record in baseball tied with the Philadelphia pH Phillies at 78 and 54 but the big Freddie Freeman Injury Update story to me is the injury concerns with Freddy Freeman and Tyler glass now and yesterday before the game Dave Roberts talked about Freddy and Tyler glass now and he said about Freddy Freeman he's doing fine I just felt that he's got the fingers and the finger is fractured the middle finger he needs to improve he wants to be in there just thinking through it and giving it a chance to calm down each day can help not preparing to hit I just don't want this thing to linger I still believe that giving it some time to calm down that's the only benefit now it was also asked if they were considering placing him on the 10day injured list and he said no he said he could have played yesterday and the fracture is not going to heal in 10 days and that there's a chance he could sit out for the rest of the series he did say he could be available on the bench as a pinch hitter but then after the game you said that they weren't going to use him as a pinch hitter he was asked about if his injury has been impacting his performance at the plate and Dave said that hitting is hard and that could be a separate point but he did say it's part of it and that giving it time to calm down is only going to help him get back to the hitter that we all know Freddy Freeman is he says it still matters to feel good and that your swing feels good so I'm a little concerned about this just because one Freddy production wise he's gone three for his last 23 hitting 130 with two doubles two walks and seven strikeouts since suffering the the injury against the Cardinals on August 17th there was a ground ball that jammed his finger and since then the production just has not been there it hasn't been MVP level Freddy Freeman a Freddy Freeman that we know is one of the best hitters of his generation and really the big takeway in all this is sure it is not going to heal in 10 days and when he returns he still would be dealing with it but you could get the inflammation down you could give him some much needed rest that he already would be benefiting from because he's a guy that plays a ton of games Freddy Freeman is impossible to keep out of the lineup he believes in playing not just in the regular season but in spring training if he is healthy enough to play he's going to be in the lineup that is just what he does and if you look at throughout his career I mean this is someone that has been one of the best hitters and one of the most durable players so it's not like he's an injury-prone player anything like that but I think just the fact that if you give him some time off it would let him reset a little bit it would allow that finger to heal a little bit and I think that it's something could that could be beneficial since the start of the 2018 season Freddy Freeman's averaging 159 games per 162 so you're missing three games a year the only player in Major League Baseball that has played more games during that stretch is Marcus Simeon so Freddy Freeman is second in Major League Baseball in games played durability he likes to play but starting to become a concern and if you played the long game a little bit you plac him on the iil and gave him some time to heal it as much as possible well I think they could help I really really do and yes there's not enough season for him to heal fully on the iil and he's still going to have to come back and play through that injury but the production is down there's no doubt about it he does not look like the same Freddy Freeman right now and with Max Muny back in the lineup you could put Muny in that three spot it's either Max Muny or Gavin Lux but as much as I love gav Lux he is the Dodgers good luck charm as well as he's played his season turnaround is one of the most dramatic we've ever seen Dave Roberts told me as such but let's be honest Max mty batting the seventh hole how long is that going to last that's a 36 home run guy 100 plus RBI guy a clutch hitter who has been great since returning so look I think if you put Freddy on the iil you put Max there in the three spot yes Kik at first Dave said that the reason why Kik Hernandez is at first base is because Max Muny is their third basem and that it's only going to be temporary and with Kik at first sure he's not going to get to the balls that Freddy Freeman is they going to be some some infield type of hits potentially some errors on some bad throws that opponents will reach but we need Freddy Freeman to be 100% for the stretch run and of the postseason Muki Betts got his 8-week break and he looks good sh Otani has been dhing the year whole year he's still in his Peak Prime Freddy Freeman a little older is in the third year of a six-year contract and I just think that there's no reason to force him out there and force him in the lineup and yes this is the classic give a guy a day off after an off day and you get more value from that because if he stays out for the rest of the season and he's back for that pivotal 4 game Showdown with the Diamondbacks sure that's a good thing but I'm just a little concerned about this just because how the swing looks how he's feeling he probably not happy about Jason Hayward on top of everything else I mean he's been dealing with a lot with his son Max in the last couple of months so I just don't think this would be the worst thing in the world but let me know Down Below in the comments section scale of 1 to 10 how concerned are you about Freddy Freeman who won the Jersey dmac that's from Isaias origel well you got to watch and find out because we are going to determine that on the show more on that just a second I'm very excited about this very excited about how we are going to announce the winner it's going to be special David dmac I want your Dalton rushing playoff call up to come to fruition David E don't forget who's been trying to speak that into existence and I saw people yesterday that were mad about Chris Taylor they were crying about Jason Hayward once more and sure it's understandable we all miss jhe even though he's part of the dark side now on the trastos but yesterday Chris Taylor playing at second base getting that opportunity to get some more at bats he goes 0 for three did did draw a walk did have some good at bats though I mean you have to give him some credit for the at bats the bottom of the ninth inning first of all Gavin lues that bat falling down the count 0 and2 then working a nine- pitch walk I think that was just an incredible at bat and just truly highlights his growth as a hitter this season but then Chris Taylor Dodgers down three to2 runners on first and second seven pitch of the that bat he lines out but took some pitches he worked the count a little bit Dave Robert said he wants to see good at bats from Chris Taylor because he's not going to be getting very many opportunities and for everyone that has been freaking out losing their minds about Chris Taylor getting these opportunities my angle on that is I would much rather see that now give him as many opportunities as he needs to either prove to the organization that he can be an asset in the postseason and that he deserves a spot on this postseason roster or hey the more he plays the more he struggles the easier it is for the Dodgers to say you know what sure we're going to be DFA we won't DFA you you'll still be a part of this organization because you're under contract for one more season we still owe you $17 million but we want to give Andy pz and dalan rushing an opportunity and that is what I want to see that is what I want to see we talked about the loophole all you have to do is have either on the roster by early September to make him eligible for the postseason or he can fill in for an injured player it's one of the easiest loopholes to cover but Dal rushing is scorching hot and he has been for a long time down at the triaa level yesterday for Triple A D rushing he had two home runs in Round Rock he had three hits he has been absolutely raking in 19 games for Triple A Oklahoma City Dal rushing is slashing 343 with a 458 on base slugging 627 he's hit five dingers four doubles he scored 18 runs and has 15 ribbies so for everyone that's freaking out about Chris Taylor struggling or Chris Taylor taking the opportunity from Jason Hayward I say let's see as much Chris Taylor as we need to see to where if he can't find it because hey like I told you on the show I did a couple weeks a couple days ago when Jason har got DFA that he had been producing at the plate for the last month before the injury even before that last couple months of the Season he was well above average at the plate also he cut those strikeouts in half the walk rate was up it was one of the best versions of Chris Taylor that we had seen in quite some time but do not sleep on the idea of dawn rushing getting an opportunity Kenny chunk says rushing is raking at OKC and they have that bum CT hitting 161 this is so unserious he hasn't fixed that busted blank uppercut swing Kenny Chong just big mad right now give you a fire take because all takes are welcome here guys we don't have to agree on everything tell me how you really feel we have to keep it 100 on this show BC Taylor 07 in the last two postseasons with a 54% strikeout rate if that's what they're counting on they deserve to lose so BC last two postseasons has got many opportunities as well I mean I think that you have to kind of contextualize it a little bit there and I'm not defending Chris Taylor's performance in the last couple of postseasons having said that what did he do in the 2023 nlds what did he do in the 2022 nlds I mean the opportunities were just not there he had seven at bats against the Padre's he goes 0 for seven and with five strikeouts and then last year he goes 146 with two strikeouts so not a big sample size but we have seen some Monster Series he a guy OCT Taylor three home runs against the Braves in a game the Wild Card walk-off so yeah I do think that's a part of the equation and why they are continuing to Hope and give them opportunities to see if he can find it but like I said if you are rooting for opportunities for D rushing if you're rooting for opportunities for Andy pz I say root for Chris Taylor to be in that lineup as much as possible in the coming weeks because if he can't produce Dave Roberts has said it the best players will play and I think it's safe to say that there is a world where Chris Taylor is not one of the best 13 players that the Dodgers have so he's got to prove it he's got to prove it he's got to earn it I'm done with the days of oh remember what you did back in 2017 remember 2018 that's why you're on no no no no those days are over this is the Otani era okay this a new era of Dodger baseball I don't care who your guys are it's a meritocracy the best players will play Superman isn't going to come safe that's from Craig osterberg we got uh Lux AB was Beast last night yeah Jesse I'm just point that out I me I was very very impressed with that at thatat put your money where your mouth is Mr fredman Roberts that's from pea peep we got Gary give Chris Taylor some credit he doesn't look frustrated anymore Gary look he's changed some things up mechanically that have improved his at B quality and that's a major step in the right direction and I want Chris Taylor to succeed because the Dodgers they're not going to eat that money he has versatility and he has come through in the postseason in the past if that guy is still in there you want him on your Squad but he has missed significant time so it does change the evaluation process a lot of pressure on him to produce in The Limited number of bats that he's going to get and I think as well on top of everything else him and Kik Hernandez essentially do the same thing right you bat from the right side you're a streaky hitter you're versatile defensively they do a lot of the same things you don't necessarily need both of those guys especially when you have pz and rushing as other options as well and like I said Kevin km is not going anywhere I will be furious I be furious if Kevin km is not on this postseason roster I see that PO postseason roster Kevin kmers is not on it I'm going to fall to my knees in a Costco Noel I love me some Costco I just got my Costco card yeah nice yeah I haven't been there for like 15 years it's like only 60 bucks that's late to do it man I mean as a kid I thought it was a special magical place so I thought that it'd be I didn't know the membership was that affordable you know what I like about Costco every now and then you got to like monitor the website but they have really good deals on Dodger tickets you can get some tickets and you could also get 30 bucks of food and drink credit and you could like sit in random random spots in the stadium they have bobblehead nights included in the deal you just got to keep an eye out on the site ladies and gentlemen Costco isn't a sponsor of the show I just want to point that out by the way let me know Down Below in the comments what's better Max M says dmac was going to Sam's Club all this time hey Sam's Club is underrated too I've never been never been never been to Sam's Club but um I've been to the Dugout Club at Dodger Stadium that's pretty cool okay what's better a Dodger Dog or a Costco dog because I saw someone on Facebook didn't they say that you can bring your Costco Dodger Dog your Costco dog and use the stadium the stadium uh catchup and relish and all the condiments I mean you've always been able to bring your own food to Dodger Stadium but for me give me Dodger Dog over Costco dog o okay for me OG Dodger Dogs yes OG the farmer current current I got to go but my whole thing is if you bring the Costco dog like is it like would you put it cold in your pocket yeah yeah it won't taste it won't taste same but if you're talking like walk to Costco food court versus walking to Dodger Stadium I think currently I'm getting roasted here everyone's saying Costco dog tastes way better BR John and it'll be CCO dog tastes way better oh Taco Tuesday's a Dodger Stadium oh the infamous Guapo says Costco has some good Tores too oh I know that that's my favorite that's my favorite we got the dmac mom says stop by Costco and pick up some milk on your way home that's from the gator show got a 199 Super Chat we need a new hitting codz from dodger blue 82 otani's dog greater than sign Costco dog yeah decoy I my do you think decoy is going to be there tonight I feel like he's going to throw out the first pitch oh my would that be cool that's what otani's been training him to do huh usually like we teach our dogs to sit to roll over but otani's teach him how to pitch huh yeah that's what I'm saying I think that he's got to throw the first pitch and don't tell me he can't you're my favorite baseball movie it's not major league it's not Field of Dreams it's not bul Durham it's airbud the seventh inning fetch have you seen the seventh inning fetch it's a great show we had decoy is the best dog bring back Farmer John dogs never had a Costco dog decoy is the best dog absolutely guys so next thing we got to get into is more on the injury front and this is on Tyler glass now and this Tyler Glasnow Injury Update really had me a little concerned yesterday Dave Roberts made some comments about Tyler glass now and he was supposed to play catch yesterday and it was supposed to be stpp in the right direction he did not play catch though no catch for Dave Ro for Tyler glass now yesterday and the Dodgers they put him on the 15-day iil due to that elbow tendonitis and this was before the Dodgers game against the St Louis Cardinals the Saturday game and the expectation was that he was going to be back after those 15 days and that this wasn't anything serious and it wasn't a long stint or anything that was worth being concerned over but Dave said yesterday quote glass now is slow moving he was lined up to play catch today given the time that he's been down there's going to be a rehab assignment still time to get him fully built up for October I don't think anyone can sit here today and say that about him being fully built up and he said he's not getting better not throwing free and easy when you're not you have to make some concessions and slow down the process so that is not what I wanted to hear from someone that is hoping that Tyler glass now is his number one starter is his game one starter and we talked about it yesterday the fact that he has set new career highs and innings pitched at 134 game started he has never flown at this altitude so until you fly at this altitude and show that you can make it through and Pitch at a high level at an ace level at a Frontline starter level that this team needs we're going to be in wait and C mode because I think if you're going to rank some of the top questions heading into the postseason right at the top is is Tyler glass now the ace that the Dodgers hope he can be is he that horse that can give you four five six dominant starts in the postseason they can take the ball in game one and dominate hitters double digit strikeouts impose their will on good to Elite lineups that is why the Dodgers traded for Tyler glass now and before he had even pitched for this team gave him a full-blown extension he's supposed to be that guy now there's other way you could look at this and say no they're just being extremely precautionary they are wrapping him up in bubble wrap because they know that like I said he is in Uncharted Territory as far as the Innings pitched he has dealt with some injuries in the past and you know what this team is playing for they're playing for October they have a three-game lead in the division with a big four game series on the road starting this Thursday against the Dbacks in Arizona but still I think the focus for this team is veering towards how do we get our best guys as close to 100% as possible so hopefully he starts to bounce back better and nothing lingers from this because he is as important as any player on this roster in the postseason that's how important Tyler glass now is let me know down Bel are you guys concerned at all about Tyler glass now let me know we got Stone has been better than glass now that's a matty man five Dodge you can make the case as of late for sure I mean his Peaks I think you look at Tyler glass now against the twins earlier in the season seven scoreless 14 strikeouts is Stone's ceiling as high as glass Nows it isn't it isn't it's just the truth and I love Gavin Stone Stone's been a rock for this rotation and last couple starts he's been fantastic as well and he's going to factor in two but if I told you that Gavin Stone was the Dodgers game one starter for a team that is as World Series or bust as any team of the sport don't tell me you would love that he's still a rookie you have to consider that as well where would we be with that Mr glass now very consider Mr glass now see Roy SoDo you're being bad down there don't call him Tyler glass arm I won't tolerate that it's not who he is it's not a glass arm stop we got uh fanto iel for the rest of glass now while giving Walker and Bobby and Cur time get in work for Mike Sana I like that point I mean the alternatives are there Bobby Miller took a big step forward in his last start last week against the Rays start he's had since late March against the Cardinals Walker ber has I don't want to say it's a Mak or break start but it's pretty damn close to it he's got to perform tonight he's got to at the very least show that there's something to build on I think you look at the horizontal break on his pitches how nasty that knuckle curve was the movement was better the command was slightly better if you can combine better movement with better command and the deliver is more consistent and you're avoiding the heart of the plate look hopefully berer can go out there and take a giant Le forward because I think this is a massive test I think that for ber you look at his career game 163 in 2018 game three of the World Series in 2018 all of his big postseason starts it almost feels like tonight's start for his career with this team is as important as any of those when you look at what could happen but I think the fact that glass now is on the iil they're still waiting to get Yamamoto back by the way yoshinobi Yamamoto he makes his first Rehab start tonight in Round Rock Texas for OKC so he pitched a Sim game that went well his Bullpen went well they're feeling really good about Yamamoto but tonight we see him back on the mound he's expected to make two rehab starts we got a tonight is an L from Mr classic yeah I mean you're going against Corbin Burns Corbin Burns shout out to shout out to Bakersfield shout out to Bakersfield man Dodgers field the Orioles are a pack of hungry dogs that's from Ocean butane better not flame out again from prone to Thrill I think we can move on from ber at this point that is from Matt over on YouTube we got pikap baseball Gods knockdown ct3 is flyball 2 thought it was going to hit Off the Wall yeah PP better at bats not as much swing and miss so I'm going to definitely give that to let's go Dodgers for sure Big Joe smash dmac can I get a shout out to my co-workers Donnie and Luna here at work listening to Dodgers nation dmac is that dude big shout out to Donnie big shout out to Luna we give you guys a comment of the show thanks for rocking with us here on Dodgers dogout live who just waiting to see who wins that Otani Jersey who's way I know you guys want to know all you guys that commented goani you were had your hat you had your your name in the pot man you guys were all eligible Ricardo yo what's good my boy dmac you going to the game tonight what time you pulling up Ricardo probably going to get there extremely early because though Tony bobblehead night I should be there around 2 o'clock and it's going to be exciting we'll talk about that too Mike sandaza sit Freeman this series and hope he can play during the dag series standing wise that series is far more important than the O Series yeah Mike fire take right there and I agree if you're not gonna iil him right sit him this series bring him back for that noos Showdown I could not agree with you more get as close to you can as far as letting that inflammation letting that swelling kind of go away and then hopefully he's in a better spot and it's not like he hasn't been through slumps in the past because look like Dave Robert said baseball is hard generally so you can't say oh he's three for his last 23 just because the finger it could be just a Ed slump right a a misim slump guys going to go through their dry spells even the best hitters in the world so you can't pin it all on that but I just look at the postseason I look at the stretch run I look at him since 2018 how much baseball he's played I think it can only help this team to get him as fresh as you possibly can but guys coming up next we are going to be giving away an authentic Shi Otani Road grade Jersey to celebrate 95,000 subscribers wait to see how we're going to do it that's coming up next staff won it guarantee you that is not the case and whenever someone wins this we will demand they send a picture of us of him in this jersey so that is definitely not the case we got uh never heard average 1.3 million views per month each episode gets 10 to 20 to 30,000 views on YouTube and more people on the podcast as well so lots of people watch the show listen to the show but don't comment on the show but uh we got BC says did so did we get there was there any regulars in there uh Eddie travez I believe was a regular right Tony that's one of the ones we recognize that was one that I recognized the most Eddie Chavez but like like Doug said we have we have a ton of ton of people watching every show we a ton of people watching that can't be in the live stream so we we got every the duck was on roids from my so we got goani but uh yeah absolutely we got the Tony taters burner account one that's from Nando 390 yeah no you know okay let's let's do a okay let's do a ha giveaway we'll do a ha giveaway for this show a hat giveaway for we'll do a little later on the show too for one of you guys as well so we'll find a way to give one to you guys for sure we got uh some more comments here beer Sama just a heads up I just passed by VIN Skully Avenue and there's about 50 people in line at the gate waiting for that Otani bobblehead good luck y'all wow that's pretty insane so yeah the Otani bobblehead night is tonight it's going to be huge and there was a piece by Bill shaken of the LA Times who had some info about the Otani bobblehead and just look at the ticket prices today the get in price is $131 the minimum for yesterday was $36 so ever wants to be a part of this now there's a little bit of controversy people think that they should just have 55,000 bobbleheads and it shouldn't go to just the first 40,000 bans and Dodgers president Stan Casten he said that the corporate sponsors that cover the cost of most giveaways may not have the budget for 53,000 promotional items he also said and when you get there early you have the opportunity to do other kinds of shopping whether it's food or merchandise it also helps with tr traffic and things like that we try to make all our fans happy most of fans when there is a limit and they come late I think they understand so it's pretty interesting I will say that there has to be a sponsor out there that would be okay with 50 plus thousand bobbleheads I think at this point that it's such a high demand bobblehead and there's also going to be a select few of gold ones and I think that's fitting because the Dodgers have strug gold gold with shotani when you look at jersey sales it was the fastest selling jersey in the first 24 hours in Fanatics history and you look at the impact at the gate at the concessions I mean the iso Otani Jersey is going to be a staple in a Los Angeles sports fans wardrobe forever now I mean for the end until the end of time so look I mean I get it it's kind of it kind of makes it a little more fun it makes you kind of appreciate it more when there's 40 ,000 right it's a little bit of a limited amount right but uh I do understand the frustration with fans though especially on a work night going with your kids you got to run up to the gang to get into Dodger Stadium it could be very difficult I totally get it it could definitely be frustrating but having said that it's going to be awesome I think that what probably hurts it is there's so many people that just want to get there to sell it I mean there's already so many listings on eBay for like $200 $300 I saw go theyve start lining up at 10: a.m. already at 10 a.m. they're there already what are your thoughts on that though I mean this is a big sneaker head right I mean if you had you know if if everyone could just roll up and get Jordans and whatever shoe they want they probably wouldn't be as as fasting for fans right but what do you think about the ball you think they should go full 55,000 or you okay with the 40,000 some fans are frustrated there's a lot of different views to take man like you said the families that get off of work that have to rush home to change get their kids ready and they barely make it 30 minutes before the game game it kind of sucks cuz they're not going to have a chance at all to get it you kind of have to call off of work calling sick little sniffle plant the seed the day before and then you have the entire day to get there early but bro even a day like today if your entire day has to go to getting ready to this bobblehead it's crazy but grown man says sailor says grown men mad about bobbleheads I mean I mean it's fun decoy I mean show I think for this one I will say for this one for Shi and Decoy for the Shi ones just make a 55,000 make sure every every single person leaves there with the with oton ball blade even if you did that they would still fetch no pun intended by the way they would still fetch 100 plus dollars even if you went that part and look if you got to have a little Bank of America logo if you got to have some type of logo on it I'm sure you can make things happen but I just want to see Dodger fans have a good time and uh yeah it be a little buzz kill I mean I would hate to go there roll there with my kids and and uh you know if I was roll up with you know a bunch of kids they couldn't get a B but uh what you guys thoughts though uh leave the kids at home that's from I think I knew Denny Cortez the resale is what pisses off most people that's the thing the resale is crazy uh Gwen Bach keep the bobbleheads give us more Otani hits in clutch situations oh anything in baseball all times give you some love right there if you didn't call and sick to work sucks to be you that's from Larry Scott give you a let's go Dodgers yeah it's like yeah it's like it's like a it's like that real of like Disneyland people like do you have a job and it's like me at Disneyland on a Tuesday you know they're posting all the people there sometimes you got to do what you got to do what do you call them Noel does them all the time what do they which ones the plan sick days I do not do that put them in your that's Noah camera I apologize the day before Noah will start getting a little sniffles and the next he won't be over ears HT yeah exactly but uh all right guys so we're Bullpen Trust Tree going to transition here and we're going to talk the bullpen trust tree Now Dave Roberts talks about the trust tree and the bullpen trust tree and I have ranked the bullpen trust Tre in the hierarchy from best to worst as far as trust level and I know it's probably a little premature I know it's a little love at first sight but right on top at the very top of the Dodgers Bullpen trust tree I'm going Michael copc Michael copc last night another shutout inning and with the Dodgers he's posted a 73 in his first 12 appearances with the white socks hit a 474 er a 484 FIP a 30.9 strikeout rate a 12.6 walk rate he was a negative 0.2 F4 in 43 and 23s Innings with the Dodgers that 474 e has gone to 73 that 30.9 strikeout rate has gone to 40.5% the biggest difference the command the walk rate with the white socks at 12.6% with the Dodgers 7.1% the expected FIP at two opponents are hitting 77 he hasn't given up a home run he has two saves has 6 F War by the Numbers since he put on Dodger blue he has been the Dodgers best reliever based on overall production so he's right at the top I asked Dave Roberts about Michael copek and he said that he was climbing up the trust tree I think he's at the top of the trust tree Michael copek right now he has been the steal of the deadline for the Dodgers and he also has that stuff that plays up in the postseason a couple weeks ago he had throw a pitch that was 102.6 mph that was the fastest pitch by a Dodger since Jonathan Brockton in 2009 he's throwing harder with the Dodgers the command is better the babit is very low at 136 so might have a little regression there but he's been fantastic a 1351 whip with the white socks a 486 whip with the Dodgers Michael copek is a dude and he's going to be a beast for the Dodgers in the postseason then number two on the trust tree I've got Evan Phillips now Evan Phillips did have a rough patch Evan Phillips looked like uhoh regression your Evan Phillips what's happening and you're starting to be concerned because the command was bad the fastball usage was a little suspect he wasn't committing to the fastball as much you were seeing harder contact and you were starting to wonder wait a second what version of Evan Phillips are we getting in July he had an 1174 erra and even before that it wasn't the dominant Elite Evan Phillips that we saw in the last couple of Seasons he had a 327 ER in June but he has really gotten it together in August he's posted a 0.96 ER in nine to thirds Innings and that strikeout rate is at 47.1% and the walk rate is down to 2.9% this month he did give up that solo home run to Camero in the Dodgers n a loss to the Rays on Saturday but I think for him just recommitting to that fastball command early in counts getting aheading counts setting up that nasty sweeper using that Slider getting soft contact fireman Phillips is back and he's number two on the trust tree and then this might come as a surprise and I know a lot of people are going to think this is high but number three at least right now right now today on the trust tree Anthony Bond the bonda express has quietly put together a really really nice season for the Dodgers he's been really really good since the All-Star break I mean since the trade deadline a 18 ER 34.1 strikeout rate a 188 expected FIP and this is not someone that was expected to be a massive contributor they didn't think that he was going to be someone that was going to stick on the roster the entire season but he's already been in 40 games he's appeared in 40 games for the Dodgers 41 in the thirds Innings he's posted a 218 ER has a 318 expected ER 7 F4 and I think what plays for him is the fast ball he's averaging 96 on that four seam fast ball works it up in the zone he's got that quirky delivery that plays up for him and that slider the way he can back foot it the way he can get chased with it it's a slider fastball combination that would play up in the postseason a opponents are hitting 100 off his slider also what I love about bonda he's good against lefties and righties righties hitting 220 lefties hitting 207 no home runs to lefties he's served up three bombs to righties in 105 plate appearan so Anthony Bond Believe It or Not third on my trust Tre and then behind him is the other Lefty in the Dodgers pen Alex vessia now vesia he's put together his best season as a Dodger as far as wire-to-wire consistency he did have his rough patch early on in the season but he's certainly certainly been one of the more consistent Dodger relievers and he didn't have that one stretch where it's like okay it's before the All-Star break it looks like he can't locate the fast ball he can't back foot the slider and we have to send him down to Triple A to figure things out no we did not get that version of Alex vesia this season so far and you look at the entire season he's just been good July was his worst month he had a 435 erra but he bounced back in in August six and the third's inning a 142 ER and you're also seeing since the trade deadline a 182 ER expected numbers solid 33.3% strikeout rate the one area where he needs to improve is the walk rate the walk rate is higher than you want it and that's why he's a little lower on my trust tree cuz when you get in the postseason you get to a big spot that is when the command and having command is pivotal and we saw a couple years ago in the nlds against the Padres the base hit to Cronin worth how it flipped that series and just just one at bat in a big moment but it's definitely something that kind of sticks in your mind cuz you need players and pitchers like that to come through in those spots but on the year as a whole 54 to thirds Innings 54 and thirds Innings and a 182 ER from Alex vesia and the Home Run numbers are down .99 home runs per nine the bip is low at 205 but the one thing that just scares me just a tiny bit is the walk rate I mean on the season a 12.33% walk rate that right there puts him in a very low percentile I mean e percentile in walk percentage he's in the two percentile and Barrel percentage so definitely want to see him miss those barrels and limit those walks and then coming at number five is Blake trinon Blake trinon easily could climb this list if he continues to perform Blake try at 270 ER 281 expected er a 14.3% home run to Fly ball rate you want to see him lower that number but he's still limiting contact at an elite level and I think by the end of the season he's going to climb on this trust tree since coming back from the hip injury he's pitched in three games he's get up five hits in those three games so you want to see some more clean Innings you don't want to have him give up base hits in key situations you want to use that video game nasty nasty slider Sinker induce that soft contact and he's a guy that has the experience too let's not forget he was on the mound for the Dodgers in game five of the 2020 World Series after Kenley Jansen he blew it in game four and another guy that could rise on this trust tree is Ryan brazer Ryan brazer he quietly excelled in his rehab dealing with that c injury that pretty much derailed his entire season but since coming back off the I he's pitch in five and 2/3 Innings has not allowed a run so five and 2/3 shut out frames and he's allowed just one hit and he has three strikeouts the El this season for the first part was at 463 since being back he's already lowered that from 463 down to 312 and the guy that's probably dropped on this list the most throughout the course of the season is Daniel Hudson Daniel Hudson has really just quietly started to struggle I mean a 623 ER in his last nine games and the alarming stat to me is the 8.6 strikeout rate during that stretch and a 562 expected FIP and the hard contact on the season is in the second percentile Barrel percentage in the seventh percentile average exit velocity at 90.8 mph that's in the 6 percentile but what he does good what he does well at an above average level and really at an elite level is a 32.5 with percentage that's in the 93rd percentile so I think Daniel Hudson needs a break because you look at his age you look at where he's at in his career someone that was considering retiring and I think that he deserves a break I mean he turned 37 on March 9th and on the season he we're if you want to ask kind of where would this team be without Gavin Stone I think you could say something similar about a guy like Daniel Hudson for the bullpen where would this Bullpen be without Daniel Hudson to get a guy that was on the cusp of calling a career after the leg injuries the acl's and coming back and this season he's appeared in 53 games he's tossed 51 23s Innings and he's posted a 261 erra so on the surface you're like okay I like it I like it right but recently you've seen numbers Trend in the wrong direction so that's one guy I have my eyes on and then the last guy right now in my trust Tre I hate to say this because this is someone who could be number one in a game or right at the bottom there's no in between it feels like and that's Joe Kelly and I will say that I am not on the let's leave Joe Kelly off the postseason roster because stuff plays Joe Kelly is a guy who sometimes the command is erratic sometimes he'll give up a home run he'll have a rough inning but sometimes he'll execute a pitch that is as good as anyone on the planet that's what's frustrating about Joe Kelly but his last 10 games eight Innings of work a 675 ra 942 FIP 519 expected FIP a 33.3% home run to Fly ball rate strikeout rate down to 20% 11.4% walk rate in that stretch he gave up that two-run home run to ciero on Saturday so the home runs you want to limit you want to stay in the zone stay on the edges and when your stuff is that good I mean don't even put pressure on the catcher let him do work just let him grip it and rip it and the reason why I still want to see him be a part of this postseason Bullpen he's in the 90th percentile in velocity 98.3 milph his slider horizontal break is at 9.8 in that is Elite so the stuff is still still Elite it's just harnessing it so that's the trust tree right there and just a quick and dirty postseason pitching roster right now 13 guys if everyone's healthy glass now Yamamoto flarity Kershaw Stone copc Phillips their locks at seven vessia eight bonda right now Bond nine trining 10 brazer continues to pitch like this they paid him he pitched well last year for the Dodgers when multiple Innings against the Dbacks he's in 11 Daniel Hudson it's tough to imagine he's off this roster unless he picks things up 12 and Joe Kelly 13 so right now it's no Walker ber no Bobby Miller no Tony gonin and Bruce dark graterol if he comes back healthy I think he's going to be in this mix right and then the question is who do you take off so those are the guys on the bubble I think bruar has the potential to be a lock it just I I'm still recovering from that emotional up and down that range of emotions that I went through when it looked like he was done for the year with a Grade Three hamstring and then the next day Dave Roberts told us it was a grade one hamstring and he's already thrown a bullpen he's going to be on the rehab assignment so Bru dark grat all clearly is on the men and it's it'd be impossible if he gets an opportunity and looks right it'd be impossible to keep that kind of stuff out of your Bullpen because he gives you a different look right not necessarily the high strikeout guy but High Velocity guy that induces soft contact so bruar graterol I mean if he had stayed healthy I don't think he he'd be as much of a wild card but I think for him we need to see but he's going to begin his rehab assignment this weekend but let's do some more and also Walker beer let's see Bobby Miller if he continues to pitch like that there's a role for him and if some of these guys get injured I wouldn't be surprised see Walker beer and Bobby Miller especially if Bobby Miller pitches like he did the other night factor into this postseason rotation even short burst situation for Bobby Miller too we got uh cayono $8.90 $5 longtime lurker here do you think Otani will pitch like he used to even with two elbow surgeries I will say you never know because sometimes you get Jameson tyion and nathany evaldi and then you get what we've seen with Walker beer so far right you just never know how quickly you're going to get the feel back but I will say that with the way he us that sweeper and that splitter it's not like he just needs that he can pump 98 he can hit 100 but he doesn't rely on that solely so the fact that his secondary pitches are what they are and they were established I do think that if anyone can do it at sh Otani I've seen him throwing it looks effortless I've heard from people he loves to pitch he lives to hit right but that value what makes him the Unicorn what's the ultimate trump card if you want to have the Otani judge debate is he can pitch let's not forget this guy who just went 4040 is an injured pitcher okay let's not forget that and you saw last season how effective he was when he was on the mound so I definitely definitely think that can do it it's him so couple more we got the infamous El Guapo I Got My dmac Bobblehead just crossed out Will Smith and wrote in dmac that's hilarious man uh Jack FL is looking a little like Lance linish Martin troop look he missed some pitches last night you definitely you definitely don't want to uh to be up 02 to the number nine hitter and give up a home run for sure to Aras and that two-run home run there I mean that was just his second hit in his last 25 at bats but I still think that I like the grit I like the dog and I think that his best baseball is in front of him and the fact that he goes he got hit in the wrist and he was fine he didn't had have any swelling and you weren't uh concerned about that but he worked himself out of some jams yesterday and he struck out the side there in the fourth inning but that line drive from Cedric Mullins and that catchy made that was incredible we got a $10 Super Chat appreciate it from Julio alaman over on YouTube what does bruar expect after that much of a layoff and come back looking like a tort of course you're going to get injured LOL come on guys guys what do you mean he didn't look like a a delicious sandwich okay he looked like a strong
