good evening I'm Mike Norris with tunin news tonight we bring you an exclusive update on the future of legendary rock band Aerosmith straight from basis Tom Hamilton in a recent email interview with the Charlie Kendall metal shop podcast Hamilton addressed the swirling rumors and speculation about Aeros Smith's plans following their retirement from touring the band's decision to step away from the road came after frontman Steven Tyler suffered a serious vocal chord injury during a concert in September 2023 Hamilton who has been battling his own health issues with larynx cancer provided Clarity on several key points regarding the band's future first and foremost he stated unequivocally we don't know what the future holds but it won't include touring this confirmation puts to rest any lingering hopes fans may have had for future Aerosmith tours addressing rumors about potentially continuing with a different lead singer Hamilton was equally clear there's no talk at all about going on the road with another singer I can't imagine it this statement effectively closes the door on speculation that Aeros Smith might follow in the footsteps of other bands who have replaced iconic frontmen however Hamilton did offer a glimmer of hope for fans eager for new music from the band members he shared I'm sure all of us have music in our future and it will manifest itself in ways that we haven't planned yet the basist revealed that he's been working on new material with friends hinting at potential Solo or side projects from Aerosmith members Hamilton also took the opportunity to clarify the circumstances surrounding Tyler's injury he explained that during the third show of their peace out tour Tyler suffered a fall that resulted in a fractured larynx despite this Tyler managed to finish the show which Hamilton described as a testament to his strength and desire to give the people what they came for the decision to retire from touring was not taken lightly according to Hamilton he emphasized that it was made by the team which includes the band and our dedicated management with all staff members informed shortly after the decision was reached on a more positive note Hamilton shared that the band's relationship has grown stronger in recent years he mused maybe we could feel it deep inside that the conclusion was approaching this closeness suggests that while Turing may be off the table Aerosmith as a unit may still have surprises in store for fans looking to the Future Hamilton hinted at potential opportunities for the band to continue their legacy in new ways he remarked so many things have happened for us that we never expected whoever could have imagined that we'd have a roller coaster at Disney World the future is still out there and I imagine we'll figure out a way to be part of it in closing Hamilton expressed deep gratitude to Aerosmith's loyal fan base he acknowledge the difficulty of retiring from touring knowing how much the band's music has meant to so many people his message to fans was heartfelt we see you and we feel you thanks as Aerosmith enters this new chapter fans around the world will be eagerly watching to see how these Rock Legends continue to shape their legacy while the days of seeing them live on tour may be over it's clear that the story of Aerosmith is far from finished for TuneIn news I'm Mike Norris we'll continue to follow this developing story and bring you any updates on Aerosmith's future endeavors as they emerge [Music]
