Ole Miss Postgame: Jaxson Dart after MTSU

Jackson the middle of a game is that record is that something you're aware of or did I mean you probably felt you hadn't dropped a pass yet at that point uh I was aware of where I was at uh I didn't know the record or anything like that so I was just trying to continue to just put the ball in my guy's hands you said you were aware was there one point in the game where you started peeking and kind of seeing where you were at or uh no I think sometimes just flashes on the board and you peep it but I wasn't really thinking about it that much until I do an incompletion then I started thinking about it um Henry Parish obviously had a big game today uh how does a performance like that out of the running game help you in in the passing game yeah coach ke emphasized it going into this week that we wanted to establish it and uh you know get the big guys up up front rolling with the running back so um I thought you know right out of the gate you know we punched them in the mouth and I thought the guys did a great job um of setting the tone of the for the rest of the game of you know winning the the battle at the line of scrimmage and backs are able to you know split some holes and make some big runs so it was awesome to see Lane said that uh you practice every day like it's you you practicing for the national championship just what goes into your preparation how do you stay focused even in these early season games uh I think it's just the standard is the standard um you know I think that we all have big you know dreams and aspirations for this year and for a lot of us this is our last season so we want to take advantage of every opportunity that we get regardless of it's a game rep or a practice rep and um you know you know we always say practice how you play so uh each rep is extremely important Jackson Lane made uh the comment that a lot of people goes into how successful you are on top of you know how how well you prepare Joe judge was one of those Coach Joe judge could you comment on how uh he's kind of helped you become the quarterback you you are this season yeah he's amazing um it's such a luxury and an amazing opportunity that we're able to have him on staff here and I've you know in the short short time that I've had with him I've learned so much and uh I think not only is he you know amazing for you know schematics and game prep and whatnot but just like on the sideline of just you know keeping my head right um and preparing me for the next drive next series and um he has a special talent special eye for what he does and um like I said it's a luxury to have him Jackson going back to the question about your mentality preparing for every game like it's the national championship how do you think that mentality has helped you progress and grow as a player here at Miss um I think the biggest thing is as a quarterback you got to be the leader and uh you know i' I've always felt like you know the quarterback's the one that sets the tone for the unit the offensive unit as a whole so um you know I felt like if I don't bring it every single day then you know we might be able to slip up and um may have some you know unusual mistakes and I feel like with the opportunity that we have that can't happen so um you know I'm just intent and uh you know just want to make the most of my opportunities a couple weeks ago you talked about Kaden Lee you mentioned a couple other receivers but Kaden Lee was one of them that's made so much growth he had a nice a couple nice plays tonight what have you seen out of him and how comfortable does that make you feel when you have a slot receiver like Kaden well he was the most productive guy throughout camp and um I thought he made a huge um growing step from last year to this year and I think the biggest thing is just his confidence in the system and um you know he comes work every single day with the right approach right mindset and um he's just a baller out there you know he just is able a guy that's able to just make plays and we have a lot of trust in him and um you know give him a lot of freedom to you know just play ball uh just because of how much trust we do have in him so um I'm just super proud of him and I think that he's going to continue to do amazing things you had Jordan back today I'm not sure if you saw his block on um Henry's touchdown run just what sort of impact does he have on a game outside of you know obviously catching the ball yeah he's has a tremendous impact um I think I've stated it before he's like another quarterback out there on the field um you I think that he's you know right after me the next smartest guy out there uh so he knows every everybody's alignment and assignment and um it's I've been waiting for him to get back so it was great to have him out there and I know that his reps are going to continue to increase and um the more he gets healthy so um just super stoked to have him back and not only from um that side of things he's a great leader as well are things going pretty smoothly with the headset to helmet communication and do you do you like it yeah I like it a lot um you know it's like the NFL um and I think that we have a really good system of how we handle it questions thank you
