[Music] I'm Sam schroer I'm a co-owner of Olympia coffee and we're here in downtown Olympia this is our uh headquarters where we roast all of our coffee I'm lesie Myers I am the clean energy product manager overseeing a number of our volunteer roval programs at psse what makes Olympia coffee special so I think there's a variety of things but I think most of it comes down to the kinds of coffees that we're bringing into our roaster so uh they're really unique coffees sometimes single harvests of single days so I think that's a big piece of it is the work we do at origin sourcing coffee and how we roast our coffee another thing is you know there's a lot of pressures in farming um coffee and everything else around climate change so uh having predictable uh weather patterns is key for crops and you know when you have change um in weather patterns it it creates a a huge disturbance in farming what I really like about Olympia coffee is that they are a good example of a small business that is thinking about sustainability from start to finish with their business practices um so their Coffee Roastery here is uh 100% green power they're participating in our carbon balance program and in our renewable natural gas program which all together help them dramatically reduce their carbon footprint uh and make them a more sustainable brand uh in addition to Fantastic coffee if you don't care about sustainability I feel like you're just not paying attention we should all care about it you know it's it's our future and and our present that's part of the impetus for um working with psse and purchasing Ren energy [Music]
