Briana Andreoli ESPN+ Interview - Rutgers

what's up NJIT fans halftime of the women's soccer season opener between NJIT and Ruckers my name is Matt Ambrose and I'm joined by Junior Ford Brian Andreoli to take a look at this upcoming 2024 season so Briana you guys have been back on campus for a couple weeks now take us through preseason how things have gone so far for you and the team uh preseason has been going great um the chemistry on the team has really been building uh with the new cumers coming in it brings like new energy brings our energy level up and pretty excited to see where it leads us so bana you were named to the preseason All Conference team this is a year after you were first team All America East at the end of your sophomore year what does it mean to you to have that honor it means a lot to me it tells me that I'm doing something right I'm heading in the right direction it also builds me up meaning like I could be the best version of myself and it gives me the energy and the motivation that I need to uh step up like every game for my team and for myself and you're certainly going in the right direction with those six goals you led the team in goals assists and points last season how have you seen your game grow from when you first stepped on campus to where you are today when I first stepped on campus it was a Learning lesson for me I was getting used to the whole college experience and learning about my own teammates and how to play with them because it's a big difference from high school to college so I knew I had I need a lot of motivation to get me to where I am now New Jersey native as well hailing from Hawthorne what kind of how special is it to be able to play your college soccer here in New Jersey have family nearby and still be kind of on some home soil here in Jersey uh it feels great my mom comes to every one of the games uh she's basically my home so it's like home is here I have two homes but um it feels absolutely great I'm not homesick I know I could see her whenever she could see me whenever she could see my growth and I want to do it for her and also she's my motivation too you guys seem like a very tight-knit group this this women's soccer program kind of peel back the curtain a little bit what are some memories some favorite memories of your first two plus years here at NG uh there was a trip at Stony Acres where it really brought the team together with of course no phones we all had to be social in cabins and a lot of team activi and every team activity that we do brings like our chemistry up and it helps us on the field too with communication so we're all on the same page well Briana excited to see you and the rest of the team this upcoming season and excited what's in store for you on the field here in 2024 so thanks so much for joining us thank you here with Brianna Andreoli the second half of NJIT and Ruckers is coming up
