y'all cried for8 months about how you was left out the playoffs and blah blah blah blah blah and this what y'all do week zero in Dublin you went overseas to catch this l so hey man we on your head um but realistically we we going to we going to actually bring it back to uh reality talking about whether or not Florida State still has a shot to make the playoffs so let's hop into this video what just happened yesterday and more importantly if you're a Florida State fan where do you go from here Florida State home you where y'all going home boy yall going y'all got a long trip y'all got a long trip man uh now do I think Florida State still has a a shot to make the playoffs yeah Miss 12 teams I think they can statistically lose like one to three games they can they can probably lose like two more games and maybe sneak into the bottom of the the bottom of the the you know that when one of them 10 11 12 spots maybe uh they they they can't lose more than like one more and luckily for them they lost early enough in the season where it's like okay that was an early season loss they caught their stride lateer in the season boom whatever so it's a shot you know but we on your head boy I video okay we got a lot of thoughts on yesterday's game got a lot of thoughts on what's going to happen moving forward I don't think you should turn the lights out on the 2024 season after week zero happened they went in there they had a now Florida state had an amazing opening drive you can tell they scripted the hell out that opening drive but after that it was open season they they just couldn't really adjust once Jordan Tech came down came down immediately and responded they ain't know what to do they went in there they they scored they did The Swinging gate for a two-point conversion they was just super aggressive and then Georgia Georgia Tech came back in there said hey that's cool but we we F to hit you back in the mouth and it was a dollar fight from there and and and Florida State couldn't handle it headline from a lot of people on social media a lot of people that will jump to this take will be well DJ you man I told you what he was going to be he wasn't this he wasn't that there was this and the whole thing too like that that halftime graphic for the yards per air or the yards in the air that he threw the football it's like all right man if a halftime graphic at week zero is like the hill you're dying on more power to you I think it's a pretty small sample size at the exact same time if you have an issue with what he did yesterday I don't think that you're without a case to be made like 19 for 27 193 yards no touchdowns no picks extremely extremely conservative with the football going forward now you and look that's a problem because dju has been in college football for I think do like 23 24 so he may be my he probably graduated with me he probably should have been graduated 2013 but uh your offense with a veteran quarterback at the at the col Collegiate level should look a lot more polished um uh at some point we have to look at dju being the problem we got to he he struggled with Clemson I think he did better with Oklahoma State he probably should have stayed at Oklahoma State I actually like dju Oklahoma State but he transferred to Florida State for whatever reason and his opening his debut was okay now did the Georgia Tech quarterback have a a better game no I think dju threw for more for more uh yards neither one of them threw for a touchdown or through interception but dju comes in a lot more highly touted he has a lot more cache star power I think he was even probably rated like I think he was like a five star coming out of high school so gju got to produce bro you got to produce man you got to produce you a make a single well you made a couple you made two fourth down throws against blown coverages uh to kind of move the ball but overall man you didn't make a significant throw to either to make to win or lose the game probably need him to hit on some of those throw that they missed downfield probably need them to be more aggressive some of that you probably pin on dju some of that you pin I think just as much on Mike norell in the play calling but here was my big thing coming away from that game as much as you wish dju would push the ball down field more as much as you wish he hit on that deep Crossing route to jakai Douglas like yes those are all things you wish it happened but my thing was where was the strength of this football team like the entire offseason what were we talking about college game they're talking about having the best defensive line in all of college football potentially allowed five yards to carry got run on for darn near 200 yards offensively I sat here for the duration of the last six months and said they will be a run the football kind of operation they're going to Pound The Rock they got an experienced offensive line they're however many deep at that running back room they are going to tote the male less than 100 yards on the ground around yard carry hey Georgia Tech so if I'm the Florida State fan okay my computer acting crazy okay but Georgia Tech ran for like 190 that boy they ran all over uh Florida State geia Tech could get whatever they want their offensive line with moving folks and yes the quarterback should and will get a lot of the blame that's the position that's what you sign up for especially at a high-profile spot like Florida State that's absolutely true however I don't think that was exactly like the biggest surprise that dju was what he was yesterday at the exact same time he completed 70% of his passes we always talked about come on now those 70% was like running back flares a DOT a hitch he doing pretty much what B Knicks did man and and B Knicks played himself into a first round pick he even starting right now I mean he only had to beat out Zack Wilson and and who was it stemman but you know what I'm saying like that that ain't no competition um I really rock with B Knicks too I rather take a rookie over two veterans that didn't pan out to be too much in the league so uh but yeah that that check down you in a game like this you don't need a check down merch you need somebody that's going to push that ball down the field um and dju couldn't do it or wouldn't do it or they didn't let him do it DJ in the Florida state passing game kind of being like the compliment to the strength of this football team the trenches that wasn't there yesterday or at least the edge wasn't there yesterday from what we could see and I'm not telling you that's exactly who they are and I'm not telling you that's exactly what they're going to be the rest of the season but I do think if you have an issue with what happened yesterday with dju figure out why my computer I would also make sure you point just as much of the finger at the offensive and defensive line now it should also be noted like no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no now no absolutely now we not pointing the finger at the o line or D line cuz guess what if dju would have made a single throw to win this game that's all you would have heard was that headline dju is whatever dju is first round pick dju this DJ you no so if you going to get all the credit you get all the blame now I do think the o line dline has has to own their port of this but as far as mainstream media goes I'm not letting y'all do it nope nope nope nope cuz if DJ you would have made one or two ex throws to actually actually good throws to win the game to get on the scoreboard he would have been everything we talked about for the next week so absolutely not I'm not letting y'all do it I ain't going to let you do it DJ you hold this brother you worse than enough you weren't enough they just what it is bro same thing for the other quarterback the other quarterback didn't do too much either and through the air anyway on the ground they had two quarterback system one for running one for passing but no DJ you got to hold this one and we not I'm not letting you do it I won't let you do it but I will not I will not I won't let you do it as much as we want to talk about this game meeing something Florida State and kind of trying to get a gauge for what they're going to be going forward now we have to factor in the possibility that Georgia Tech might just also be really good up front like they they brought back eight starters on the offense four of five on the offensive line what happened yesterday I don't believe was we just somehow way overestimated who Florida state is now I think Jordan Tech brought back four returners and they picked up a transfer that also was a starter at his previous school so um julch they got they got a good offensive line um their head coach is a a former offensive line coach so I know he takes a lot of pride in that in his offensive line being the the bread and butter of that team I am an offensive line coach so we we just take pride in having our guys ready to go you know so um but yeah man Georgia Georgia's offensive line that play calling the the compliment of the running backs they have and the the the style of offense they play they Florida State didn't know what to do they didn't know what to do they couldn't defend the outside run they couldn't defend the inside run they couldn't do nothing they could they couldn't defend the quarterback draws and counters and sneaks so they got whatever they wanted is some of that baked in there potentially I think you have to give a lot of credit to Georgia Tech like they were very clearly in that game with a great plan I loved the way they put the ball in the perimeter and tried to make it a game where we're going to play out on the edge as opposed to trying to just win 110% in the trenches and then when they did play in the trenches they were very multiple it was counter it was Zone it was outside Zone it was get downhill in a hurry it was as Haynes King said multiple times during his halftime interview get a hat on a hat they did that at a really high level okay so I think in some ways you have to kind of tip your hat to Georgia Tech and say yeah we lost that game but that's not just to some slouch Georgia Tech team that's just going to barely make a balll game yeah and you know I like Georgia Tech a lot I got I got a one of my players playing for Georgia Tech right now that I coached uh but Jordan Tech has a a very tough schedule so being strong in the trenches on both sides of the ball is going to help them but I don't think that Georgia Tech's offensive line potentially may not be they may not be the best offensive line they face all year I think it's I think it's a little on for Florida State I think it's a little bit more of a reflection of how weak they are on the defensive line at least in this game and maybe Jia Tech offensive line is that great we going to find out in a couple weeks as they play more seasons and face different opponents cuz Georgia Tech schedule is insane absolutely insane so we will get the opportunity to see what we we we'll get the opportunity to see what to make of this game three two three weeks down the road if if if FSU goes on like a two three game losing streak then they done but FSU come out here and win off R off a couple wins and Georgia Tech R off a couple wins then we say hey those just two good teams that that played and that just and that's why we love to watch the sport and that's why I'm trolling FSU right now cuz until y'all get to that next game I'm on your head I'm on your head my boy that's it it's over like to me that looked like a Georgia Tech team that could very well end up competing for that entire conference when it's all said and done it's week zero I understand but still that was a good football team hey I 100% agree with uh Paquel on this one like Georgia Tech look like a team that's ready to compete with anybody especially in the ACC they they ready to compete and whoever line up with Georgia Tech they better they better know what they doing going up front uh cuz they they show they can they can hit you over the head fast they can they can be methodical and bleed the clock and do it so you got yeah yeah yeah you better come with it oh my I gotta figure out why my computer keep freezing there's no way you can convince me otherwise the thing that was missing a little bit yesterday when you watch Florida State compared to previous years what have we known to be true about Mike norvell's football teams in situations like that like how many times have we seen Florida State play close games in the fourth quarter and find a way to go the extra mile find the play here find the extra yards there to get it done I was sort of waiting for that to happen and you thought maybe it was going to happen when they had that big drive to go ahead and tied it up in the fourth quarter you thought maybe the defense would bow up get the ball back and then it's Fitzgerald time and I mean that guy's an absolute weapon you got to mention him when you give a a recap of this game hitting the the McGregor strut in Ireland after a 50 plus yard like come on now like that's bucket list stuff all right he's a weapon for you that's a side note but you kept waiting for the the extra the extra I don't even know what to the unquantifiable edge that Florida State teams have had to find a way to get it done in previous years to show up in this game he ain't got Travis Jordan or Jordan Travis or Keon Coleman he got dju and and whoever and you know and that's the thing I think Florida state has a very talented receiver core I don't think the offensive coordinators felt comfortable enough unleashing those boys because maybe DJ's deficiencies or or Gras for the offense I don't know but I do think Florida state has the weapons on the perimeter to to be a threat with anybody did they use him this past weekend no they did did they and we trying to figure out why cuz I think it's a dju thing you know I think Malik Benson and Company are very formidable receivers that can do a lot of damage you know I think they can get open they can separate they got speed you know just get them in position give him the ball DJ dang give him the ball play Man point guard this thing man let's go it's worth noting 83rd in returning production on all of college football this is a in a lot of ways new team new cast of characters so a lot of the guys that were a part of that team that beat LSU two years ago on the untimed down to you know have the extra point you know situation where they were able to win that football game like different different outfit but this is my push back the people who made Florida State top 10 in the whole world in the nation knew all this stuff they knew that 83 83rd in returning production they knew they have a whole new offense they have a whole new everything not everything but they got enough New pieces where you like this is not the same team from last year that went 12-0 or 13-0 and lost to Georgia this is not the same team so for all the experts that just that why I don't really like preseason rankings and I don't like rankings too much period uh because it's all just a popularity contest to Pander to certain fan bases to to get your views and get you to buy merch and blah blah blah woot woot but overall bro preseason rankings are stupid you shouldn't do any rankings to maybe the after the to the fifth week after the fourth week you got four games under your belt and you can assess like who's who's actually good right now and now we can do a ranking so they should never been rated um number 10 with all that information being on and this game proved it team last year that went to Clemson South Carolina won an overtime different outfit and so I think just because you didn't see it in this game doesn't mean it won't still eventually show itself throughout the course of the season but I think that is at least worth noting the extra Edge that we've come to know these Mike noell teams to have not they don't have it I think they're still developing it and that's okay because at the end of the day there's bad news and there's good news the bad news is you're 0 And1 in conference play it's a gut-wrenching loss you got a lot of external noise now around your football team like that's the unfortunate part of this and you got Coach Lee on your head cuz we trolling we trolling cuz y'all was posing y'all number 10 man come on bro y'all went undefeated y'all said y'all would have beat Georgia if y'all was at full strength and then y'all come here and lose to Georgia Tech come on bro come on dog come on and I'm a Georgia Boy so hey I'm from Georgia through and through from Atlanta you know so I'm rocking with whoever anybody from Georgia go against anybody from another state I'm picking my team when lose a draw I'm picking my state when lose a draw what it is and I'm going ride I'mma take that L with him if we I'm going take that W and we trolling everybody we trolling what we going we going to troll some folks this season it gonna be some people mad at me but I give a d I give a d the good news is this is not 2007 this is not the BCS era Florida State let's be real they could lose another game heck they they could lose two games they could lose to Florida and to Notre Dame and guess what if they win all their games in the ACC and they go win the ACC title I think there's a you know not I think they will be in the college football playoff I think if they win out in ACC play should feel pretty good about making the ACC title like everything that Florida State wants to do is still very much so in front of them so as much as this one hurts in the the Twitter trolls are out and about and it is what like as much as like what's going on behind me that people are trying to turn the lights out on Florida State season I wouldn't turn the lights out on the NOS just yet because in the new era of college football as we retrain our brains losing a game is like failing a test at some point during your semester you can fail a test if you Ace the final if you do well on the rest of your exams guess what that one test doesn't matter especially if you do well towards the end of the semester we still have people in a selection committee that I'm whether they say it or not there is some recency bias baked in there okay there's no way around it so I understand it's frustrating I understand it hurts it ain't frustrating me it's funny I don't think frustrating the word out you I would say it's funny because them boys cried a lot man y'all cried all off season that's all we heard from Georgia yall only beat us cuz blah blah blah blah come on dog but this loss legitimately can mean as much as you let it you can learn from it you can bounce back you can kind of tighten the screws and things again I think you probably do need more from dju I don't think he can be a guy where you just now Dink and dunk the entire way down the field and kind of you know uh don't have some vertical presence there if your if your run game is going to give you 98 yards a game which I don't think it will but if that's the way that's going to be got to have more at quarterback it can mean as much as you want it to this could be the the thing that we point back to and say Florida state was a different team after that Georgia Tech game different Edge different style of play they went out and won the ACC like in Florida State went to the college football play made a run that could be their story again because it's not no it's not it's over with they don't have Keon Coleman to to save them they don't have you know what I'm saying and we don't know who going to be the the standout receiver for Florida State yet cuz it was no stand up off it was no standout offensive players at all uh this past weekend so we don't know we got Florida State need to figure out who their stars are who they can lean on in in the big games uh is DJ you the guy and if he not do you have that guy on the roster and if you don't you might well hang it up for the year uh so but realistically keep staying on topic taking the trolling off putting my coaching hat back on yeah uh Florida State still has an opportunity to to make the playoffs I mean obviously you know just just just lost one game you know you can probably lose at least two and still kind of get in um and if they win the the conference Champion ACC Championship then yeah they
