Packers 53 man Roster Breakdown

hello and welcome to the first episode of the wackers podcast I your host agent Rangel and we're going to be going over the 53 man roster this episode and um we're going to be going over who we kept who we didn't keep and maybe there's going to be a four or so minute long Andre Carlson rant but that's just for you to decide and for you to listen to so let's just get into the the 503 man roster for like right now right yeah let's do that like right in the first section of the day we're going to be going over the quarterbacks we only have two on roster with Jordan love and the newly acquired Malik Willis I just got to say I do think this is a very good move Malik Wills had a very solid preseason with the Titans as he actually showed that he could play football in the NFL it it just kind of sucked because the Titans threw him out there so early because he was not NFL ready at coming out of Liberty he just he was too raw to just throw out there in the regular season and it showed it showed very much so but alongside those we did release uh second-year quarterback Shawn Clifford and rookie Michael Pratt and as we look over here we are on to the running backs we have three on roster and it's just so surreal to see such a different group from last year uh we the three on roster are Josh Jacobs Marshon Lloyd and Emanuel Wilson which I think is a great group mshar Lloyd coming off of a hamstring injury I believe I'm not 100% sure Emanuel Wilson having a great preseason um point of the day is AJ Dylan on injured reserve and probably out for the season from what I've seen um I as of right now I do not know what the injury is but that is editing agent here it is official that AJ Dylan is just out for the season um I still don't know the injury I don't think it's been reported yet but I just wanted to let you guys know that it is completely yeah he's dead he is gone he's not going to be playing at all this year onto the wide receivers we have six on roster we have Romeo dos Christian Watson jadden Reed Donavon Wix bow melon and the six wide receiver Malik Heath sneaking in there uh on the 53 man we released Grant dubos samori Tay uh Julian Hicks Demetri Stanley and Jaylen Wayne I think the two of no is Grand dubos and samori Tay it's just it's a good problem to have not knowing not having the enough roster spots to hold that many good SLS solid wide receivers but I do think that we have a very very good wide receiver core here so it's it's again it's not a bad problem to have but it's a frustrating problem you know going on to the tight ends we have the usual same group as last year three tight on roster Luke Musgrave Tucker craft and Ben Sims as we release Joel Wilson Messiah Swinson first time I've ever hearing that name that's how yeah Henry Pearson and uh Tyler Davis on injured reserve um nothing of note here uh I don't think we expected any of the guys that we did release to make the roster uh Tyler Davis I believe is slated to come back um soon after the four-week period of the season so nothing of note here as we head over to the defensive side of the ball we're going to the defensive ends and it's around the same group as it was last year kind of we got six on roster ran Gary Preston Smith Lucas vaness Kingsley Inc bar brenon Cox and Aaron Mosby Mosby I don't know uh the released is Deslin Alexandra Alexandri K kesan Banks Zack Morton and brevan Allen all good preseason players not so much starters on this football team as we head over to the defensive tackle position we have five on roster we got Kenny Clark TJ Slayton Devonte Wyatt Carl Brooks and Kobe wooden uh we released James Esther Spencer way I don't even want to say like in keante Shad uh we have Jonathan Ford on the injured reserve he is designated to return um I I like this defensive uh I like this o line I'm editing this out you as we head over to the linebacker position we have five on roster we got Quay Walker Isaiah McDuffy Eric Wilson Edan Cooper and Tyron Hopper we had released Christian Welch Christian Young Chris Russell and railan go forth a lot of Chris's on uh that are no longer on this football team um I do think this linebacker is going to be pretty good next year I am very excited to see how edin Cooper does during the regular season and I already think Quay Walker is a great linebacker isai McDuffy is a dog as we all know Eric Wilson does his job on special teams and uh yeah we get into the secondary we have fiveon roster for the cornerback position Gyer Alexander at Eric Stokes kesan Nixon Carrington Valentine and Corey Valentine uh I think carington Valentine has the potential to be our number two Corner this year obviously Jared Alexander is the top five Corner in the football league I okay if Carrington Valentine doesn't take a step up I pray to God Eric Stokes comes back into his rookie form and just up this year because he has had a gradual downfall ever since his softmore year and he got injured he's been injured a lot so uh that's definitely something to look at as we go on into the season this year we have a very very new very fresh safety core got fiveon roster Xavier McKinna rookie Javon Boward Evan Williams zanen Anderson and Kiton alapo we released Anthony Johnson and Benny sap um I do think Anthony Johnson was a big I I don't know he had a very good cam uh I'm didn't exactly watch a whole bunch of the preseason so I'm not 100% sure how he played but all I know is that I read that he had a very very very good camp and uh it's just let's hope he can get back on the roster maybe later in the year if just if somebody else gets injured like or somebody else is not playing very well Kon and last but not least we head into the special teams okay so our Three Special Teams players we have kicker Greg Joseph and punter Daniel willan we have Long Snapper Matthew orik we released kicker Alex hail and sophomore kicker Anders Carlson okay here's here's one of the main reasons why I made this I don't understand why we kept Greg Joseph I do personally believe we should have stuck with Andre Carlson especially considering he was a rookie last year uh Andre Carlson and Greg Joseph's comparative stats over the 2023 season were B almost identical and I believe the only reason why we even kept Greg Joseph was because he has more League experience he okay let's just go step by step field goals made 27- 24 Anders Carlson with a 33 field goals attempted to Greg Joseph's 30 field goals attempted um Andres Carlson still even with more field goals attempted had a better field goal percentage with 81.8 compared to Greg Joseph's 80% um he okay I will say this here Andre Carlson had a significantly worse extra point percentage than uh Greg Joseph with 87.2 compared to Greg Joseph's 94.7 it's just this played in a dome last year and he still played worse than one of the most hated Packers since Kevin King I will defend Andre Carlson till I die but if you think Greg Joseph is better than Andre Carlson right now you are you just hate this man for no reason I don't know what they were thinking Andes Carlson had a also had a better Camp than Greg Joseph yet had better uh percentages and during the preseason like what I just said I was just talking about how Andress Carlson had a worse extra point percentage than Greg Joseph last year during the preseason Anders Carlson made every single extra point he did miss a 34 y against the Ravens I forget about the other two games I'm going to be completely honest but I like I I just don't understand I just don't understand and Anders Carlson in the Packers Community gets hated on so much for no reason they blame him for the Niners game they blame him for every other loss on the season but he didn't lose us that ners game he was a part of it he was not the only person who lost that Jordan love if you're going to put any put anybody to blame it's Jordan love Jordan love lost us that Niners game if we're going to put it on one person Andress Carlson bad kicker but you can't give up on a kicker after one year he didn't he it looked like he didn't progress that much over the thing but you can't replace them with a worse kicker like I don't like if we replaced Andes Carlson with anybody else I'd be okay and I'm not mad that we cut Anders I'm mad that we replaced them with a worse kicker that's going to be all for today I appreciate you guys watching um I missed you Andre Carlson I drafted you 1-1 in my fantasy league and I despise you for that that's my fault um why couldn't you make
