welcome you mantini back to the all you cast i'm alberto and i bleed black and white as do pretty much all my guests and today is no different as i have colin uh joining making his debut on the channel and uh colin how are you doing man i'm pretty good al um thanks for having me um i've been following the the cast for a while now and really enjoy the chats we have yeah that's a fantastic thank you thank you for joining and uh thank you for reaching out of course and yeah we uh have been involved in many many discussions uh uh over uh social media and uh even just uh private uh messages and whatnot because uh as i like to say there's never a dull moment surrounding juventus and it's uh brought on not only by the supporters but by the media outlets we know the ones that are run by uh some milan fans and they like to stir the pot quite a bit too and uh it could be something as a minor as just player ratings after a match and uh it all uh it all adds to uh some of the hysteria sometimes that comes with being the juventino yeah but definitely thank you for joining thank you to everyone that's already uh live with us uh ken joining us he's ready vishwajeet saying ciao to everybody and antonio uh join alberto and i with a few cold ones tonight for the game live yes so for those of you that don't uh know antonio and i will be live streaming during this match as well um so stay tuned for that now call it uh you know you make your debut here and i always love hearing um fan stories about how they became uh yuvantini and not only that what it's like as you're in uh ireland um what it's like being a juventino there as well so if uh yeah you don't mind sharing your story with us yeah um i suppose for me it goes back to the 90s um mid 90s and it's it's it's crazy you had a guest on there like second from last i think um who was a producer of gazeta football italia so um that was the show that i watched all the way through the 90s and that had highlights on a saturday morning and it had the live game on um on sunday and that was that was free to air so you didn't have to pay for it um but at the time um the like premiership to premier league football that was all um satellite tv so you had to pay subscription for it that was in britain and in ireland um but uh so it was it became a kind of a cult show and because you know it was free like people used to you know and i started watching this and um i was just amazed by the quality of the players that were there and um i think like at the time it was the 94-95 season uh uva won the schedule that year um and he had your badgio briefly when he wasn't injured del piero making his his he made his debut in 93 94 r45 and um you'd rather nelly and viale and viale was the top scorer that year and um in the league in syria and ravanelli i think i think ravanelli got 30 goals that year i can just remember like every week turning up and there was ravinelli banging in another goal you know every single week and you know 30 goals in the season for a striker in italy is huge that's massive like top scorers in in in syria throughout the 80s and 90s were like barely touching 20 you know um and uh yeah so that was i was um that was great i loved it absolutely loved it his celebration as well with the the jersey over his head oh yeah yeah it was oh yeah the beauty and what's it like uh what's it like there where you live uh you know supporting uh juventus because i'd imagine that they're not uh a big club there by any means you know no everybody here is um [Music] well now you have man city fans but and you know but you always traditionally would have had manchester united and liverpool fans and like mostly that was to do with the fact that a lot of irish players played with those clubs you know and a little bit of arsenal as well but uh no it just for me i kind of always just stuck with um you know with i couldn't i couldn't see that you would have had to have gone to the pub to watch those games so it never really that never really happened for me you know what i mean but i had i had uh syria on saturday and sunday every single week so that was that's what i loved and um you know i made the right choice oh yeah there you go well that's great that's great uh thanks for sharing and that uh that trident back then you know um del piero was just starting to get into the mix there but everybody saw uh the incredible potential uh but i mean badgio viali ravanelli it's intense and uh i definitely recommend to any of uh younger listeners or viewers if you haven't go back and pick some classic matches and watch those guys uh it was a thing of beauty by all means uh in the 90s uh syria yeah siri i was it was the balls basically that's the only way to put it all the top players uh wanted to go there uh milan was loaded juventus was loaded it was uh it was a great great time uh for uh gaucho for sure and uh now we got uh some more uh jumping in here francisco daniel jafari and uh david uh for faro saying i went to ireland 2019 and it was man city on at the bar there you go and then antonio's asking you rangers or celtic uh call ah what do what do you think antonio you know but i i mean i'm not a i'm not a huge uh lover of of uh partisan football but i mean i would be a celtic fan so there you go there you go all right now we're gonna get to uh some uv chat and of course we will be facing uh verona today which will be a tricky tricky match-up um i couldn't tell if it was uh the team list or our injury report uh as of late because of how many omissions we're gonna have and uh it is what it is uh this is seems to be par for the course for this team especially this portion of the season for quite some amount of years right now but uh you know cuadrado quellini bonucci artur dybala um and i feel like i'm missing one more possibly but uh it's uh it's a tough one um everybody uh talking uh danny loaf because of a suspension um this is this is a tough one this is a tough one so uh if we start uh looking at this and pierlow and before we even get to this match pierlo in general i i tend to have a hard time really going at him for a lot of our struggles sure he's made some errors i feel at times i have questioned his ability to adapt in game i think from one match to the next he does really good as far as making adjustments but i do question sometimes um his in-game adaptability but that seems to be the chat right now that's uh going on in the backgrounds amongst juventini when not in its pierlo and a lot of the talk this week again slower on the news front but some fans uh it's funny over the past three weeks i've noticed we've been getting pretty high coming back down getting pretty high and coming back down and it has this roller coaster feel um based on results and one minute we can be praising piro and loving him in the next it's he's got to be out the door and the portal one was the one where it really shifted and i have my personal thoughts on it and some of it is just hard to put on him because at the end of the day you've got players out on the pitch and i see a couple issues that we've had for a few seasons now even before pierlo's come on so it's it's very very hard but where do you stand in terms of pirlo and how do you think he's doing what's your assessment appeal i know it's something you wanted to talk about here uh today and uh i'd love to hear column what your thoughts on them are yeah so i mean like i'm not i'm not too harsh on piero i um i do you know when he makes a mistake or when when i see see he needs to learn something um you know i'll i'll speak it out but um i you know he's got a list of extenuating circumstances mitigating circumstances as long as your arm you know and and they're all extremely valid you know um i mean they only had a month to get players in the door they got players in the door um he didn't have any time really to to work with the squad first few games were experiments um for him you know as a manager but also for the team to actually you know get together to become a team you know and i think essentially like it is a new team they do have a new philosophy they have new formations um and strategies and it it just it takes time like you can't you cannot fast track that that's um you know it's like it's like in a work situation like like if you work on a team you know you have to the team forms you know and then it kind of it norms and then it you know and eventually it performs you know what do you mean um and uh the um like a few of the things i would have criticized him for was like i thought he made a fantastic tactical move uh versus inter um and uh you know just sticking with the 442 uh just being really hard to beat and trying to hit enter on the break and uh yeah we got a couple of lovely breaks there you know the right now logo in particular and um you know and somehow antonio conte because he's just not tactically flexible anyway um for the second like piro was able to get away with it and just do the exact same thing and um i just shut the game out completely and but pretty straight away afterwards and definitely in in the champions league against porto he got found out um you know and uh it's like teams catch on to what you're doing pretty quickly especially in italy um you know and um you kind of need to have you know uh you just need to always have a plan b that you can turn to or so some way to change the game if it's not yeah if it's not actually working you know but i you know i i kind of put responsibility there for piero but also for the players do you know what i mean um like if a ball is played back to chesnee gonna you know touch on the benton core mistake the ball is played back to chesney and he realizes there's three guys one on benton court and two either side of chesney and he thinks that you know it's a good idea time after time to try to play the short pass like you know a cheeky through ball inside your own box do you know what i mean it's yeah there's definitely some responsibility there i mean we saw um when buffon played then afterwards he'd look he'd look for the short pass but then he you know he realized okay i've got to play the ball to midfield long and and he did it you know those are kind of key decision making um you know calls that a player has to make on the field on the fly and um you can't really hang piro for that you know um but yeah yeah and and that's kind of one of the things ken here coming in saying he's a pirlo believer he will only get better and has already shown uh improvements um i i agree uh francisco coming in saying he makes mistakes but the way the team is behind him uh surprises me a lot that will guarantee him at least two years and i kind of feel the same i feel even if we were to go out to portland this is my uh whole argument uh you know for pierlo is the ones that are saying he should go if we don't get by i think it's a it's a slippery slope when you want to get into that game um just because again you brought up this goal uh the first goal they're away on the uh to porto there um with benton core and chesney kind of being right at the forefront there uh not only after that because the people that want to attack pirlo for the mentality the drive uh in that match this is not something that's crept up here under pierlo's management this is goes this dates back to yeah a season and a half into uh not two seasons and when you look at this as a whole bentenkor after that happened literally disappeared in that match and shied away from it um after that opening moment uh where he makes that here him and chesney because chesney had options prior to going to bed and cooper as well so i'll include him in that but he literally goes and disappears and now you have the guy who's supposed to be taking the reins while our door is out and he's shying away from a match where you need him because if you don't have that drive out of the middle and let's face it we are a couple traits out from what we need in the middle of the park it makes things very very hard and while the guy is an absolute machine cristiano ronaldo has also faded in and out of the proper approach in my personal opinion and he's the guy that everybody's gotta feed off of and if he's feeling frustrated or whatnot and he's physically showing it it's gonna have an impact on these guys too so overall with pierlo though i do see growth there um and i do like where you're going and for me if you're gonna cut it based on that uh competition man we're gonna be uh going through uh a lot of managers and we're not going to stabilize things in order to take that next step it's almost like you know you'll take a couple steps but then you know one step forward you're gonna take a few back he's got the players on his side on board with him that's half the battle let's start working with them and see where we can go um ivan and i ivan from bianconeri yyz and i had a great discussion last night over a couple beverages it is available on youtube too for one check out and i said the easiest way i can put this is that i do feel the board would have to take a look in the mirror as well in terms of pierlo and his success because you've got crazy circumstances and situations this season with injury list and covet everything and not only that but again i i feel so strongly about this that pierlo has a great 11 and then outside of that it starts to fade a bit with those fringe players um and that's not um and i think we can all agree that for quite some time now the quality has kind of dropped off in terms of the roster i think it's you know uh [Music] it just if we look at this team since 2014-15 we lost some key guys and you could always bank on that and this but you would know too following them from the 90s and whatnot they had this incredible ability to lose a great player and replacing with equal or better quality and for quite some time right now our mercados for me personally feel like it's a bit of patchwork yeah for me it's it's kind of it's reactionary stuff rather than like for instance my favorite player probably ever zinedine zidane um they let him go but he already had the deals done for four players to come in on the strength of um i mean it wasn't just ronald our uh sorry zidane's transfer fee you know but they had deals done um made with buffon and uh it was a couple others um so yeah um it hasn't really been like that the last last couple of years i mean i haven't been able to shift guys on um just had these massive wages hanging over them um but i mean as regards pierlo i mean he hasn't even had a proper mercado himself where he's had the chance to to pick out a couple of guys he's had one or two obviously mckenney he picked himself um you know uh she you kind of have to see what you know what way the team is going to take shape under his um you know under him basically so i mean no i mean he could get knocked out against porto the only thing about it that you know would make me question whether he could leave is if you know do i think the board are going to be that ruthless with him um and i think the answer is no i don't think they will um i mean they were they were in the end they were rootless with allegri and they certainly were with sorry but for different reasons with allegri the right writing was on the wall for quite a while and he merely lost yeah he'd nearly asked the team and for sarri he definitely lost the team so oh yeah sorry uh that was a no-brainer to get rid of him and again uh speaking to uh what you were saying about reactionary his entire involvement with uva for one season was so reactionary felt and the whole way they handled allegri leaving felt so reactionary you know and like it wasn't juve-esque in terms of being uh methodical and having planned up and lined up so um yeah it is strange strange things uh the news right now breaking out that well it's not determined whether it's a player or a staff member but somebody has tested positive for covid from verona um so that's uh kind of just come out so this will be uh interesting to see um what develops here this comment from daniel jafari pirlo is literally a dybala injury time blunder a harsh yellow penalty and a bizarre ex uva youth goal away from being touted as the greatest coach in europe this season this is about episodes um yeah you kind of pick out all these little things that have happened that have kind of gone against uv and things could be much much different and this is again another reason why i say it's far too early for people to want to even have pierlo gone because if you would have told me at the start of the season this is where we would be standing i would actually be happy with it um i think if if people thought piero was going to come in here and we were going to get the treble and that was it it was lights out were easy smooth sailing i'd say okay no i was definitely not one of them i was shocked at his uh appointment to be honest i mean a week prior two weeks prior maybe we heard he was gonna be coaching the u-23s and then all of a sudden it was like bang he's gonna coach our senior since it's like what he doesn't even have a goddamn license yet okay that's fine uh it is what it is uh yeah but uh you know to to have these wild expectations um and i know that people a lot even teeny bring up um the club's models and all this but we have to still be realistic um the motto again i always say is something that they strive to achieve and what not but we still have to just apply simple logic to the scenarios and everything and uh the expectations i had for pierlo he's kind of right in there we're in the mix for syria we won the super copa he's in the final of the gopitalia and champions league is still going um yeah he had a blip there away on the road but we found that away goal and i actually do have faith he's gonna make some good adjustments for the return match and i actually think we will go through uh versus porto yeah yeah i definitely think we're going to go through um all we need to do is win one nil you know and that's it we're through so o'neill is is a result juventus can you know anything we need is we can usually get that you know so but yeah back to like kind of pier law and potentially getting you know sacked the end of the season i juventus have never been a club that did that um managers have always been given i mean i can think of one or two like my friday at the start of the 90s at the very very very start and he was an absolute disaster and he got rid of him but but that's it you know um they tend to give them time they're pretty slow about finding the you know the right guy for the job and then once they have they kind of you know they invest um and carol ancelotti had a fairly short time with uva as well yeah that's about it and of course we had those guys which are really don't really uh fit the system or the mold or whatnot because it was kind of the banter where we were trying to come back after kyle chapulin what not so you know the zacaroni ferrara stuff like that it doesn't really uh it's kind of just its own separate entity that's not really no it's not yeah it was going to be considered in the ranieri uh part of that but uh yeah it's uh it's one of those things with pierlo um i don't i don't understand the uh piero out uh so quickly um based on what we have and i think again we can all agree going back on talent um you know it's one of those things i think we've allowed the roster to kind of drop off i mean all these years of dominance i would expect us to be further distance from our rivals and the the fact that uh meredith was able to pretty much get caught up in two seasons with mo uh pepe morata uh marota there kind of shows you we've let things kind of slide a bit it was almost like we were just maintaining and coasting rather than actually taking steps every season so uh it is what is in antonio uh making a great point here about the fact that we've taken over a billion euros in champions league revenue over these uh years of this dynasty and uh we should have a mat uh uh we should be at the stage where i could manage the damn side uh is what uh antonio's saying and uh yeah it's it's a lot of money it's a lot of money um and uh the roster if you were to put the roster in front of me and said this is one of the teams that's taken that amount of money over these past eight years i would expect it to be a bit stronger and i think that's that's fair yeah i think that is a fair point um yeah i mean the other the other thing to say is like inter milan and and morata have kind of caught up but uh we don't know did they pay the money yet like is in yeah like another story yeah like where did that money come from yeah did that check bounce or not basically um so yeah so at least our players are getting paid so yeah so the lineups this is uh this was an interesting one uh as we get closer to uh today and this match day leading up to it uh the shouts are all there fajouli um uh dragus and uh what are we doing at the back uh bernardoski is he gonna be starting it's kind of all over the map we have the lineup that pierlo finished training with okay okay and it was uh chesney in goal draguson demerol delict bernardeschi across uh as the four with kiesa mckinney rabio and ramsay across the middle with kulashevsky and cr uh up top um i also forgot to mention on the injury list was morata as well yeah who is also in doubt for the special match as well um very very early in the week it was tipped that uh a cr7 would uh be resting uh this match and i had to laugh uh right when i heard it earlier in the week i said there's no way this is a tricky away fixture he ain't gonna get a rest against verona so immediately when i saw that i had to laugh but in terms of this um draghison at the back at the right we have we have seen um what i'm curious to see is if this shapes up as a true 352 um or if we're gonna be in this uh four four two switching off because if you had dragons and demerol delict and then bernard's king key says your outsides it wouldn't be the worst uh setup by any means give you good flexibility allow that midfielder most likely ramsey in this uh three man setup to be the one that uh supports the attack and then kulashevsky and cr up top kulashevsky let's see what uh kulashevsky uh shows up right but for me this particular lineup fajoli the shouts that are there for him i agree i think we missed an opportunity to start him against crotone um personally i think that should have been a match we should have started him verona away i'm not so sure i started but uh colin let's get your thoughts on this potential uh projected lineup if it is the same as uh how a pure little wrapped up train yeah i mean it confuses me a little bit i would have thought if you had um if you had drag yourself in there rather than playing alexandro as a third center back then you would you would put dragon in there so you can play sandro as the left wing back the defensive side you know and then dragon would would shove out to right back when we're in a 4-4-2 do you know what i mean so to see bernardeschi and draguson in the same kind of line off from training um that kind of flowmaxes me but i could imagine maybe bernardeschi would be starting and um and sandro might finish do you know what i mean um if if that was the case um what do i think about fagioli um i'll be honest i i i wouldn't have started him in the last game i thought he did well with the 25 minutes to half hour that he got i know the point you made is very valid um we were training up at the time do you know what i mean and everybody was kind of like uh you know he did wonderful uh i i put a tweet out the the morning afterwards i said jolly for the balandor you know and a load of people actually came on to me and were like well maybe not yet man you know not yet i was joking i'm sorry like trying to explain it but um yeah um i think he's fine with cameo you know half hour cameos yeah like if we if we're going well in this game he could get 20 minutes but i wouldn't start him um yeah i mean we got to look at like for only i've got one of the best defenses in the league you know um they're they're quite a decent team and they've got a like a couple of guys up front that are that are you know i mean lasagna and they have another guy who kind of plays attack in midfield barack is his name and he's i've watched a few highlights of him he seems like a bit of a a bit of an ox look he's quite a strong player um and and he's playing today as well so um like they've got threats if if you they don't um yeah you aren't on top of it you know they've definitely got threats so i fully expect them to play in their uh three four one two uh setup verona which changes to five at the back defensively uh it'll basically become like a 5-4-1 shell defensively which we know we know what uv looks like in terms of creation when teams want to stack a five across the back it's going to be it has the potential to be a long day uh one of those frustrating ones so uh juventini that are expecting uh you know us to just rip through pump the brakes it's gonna be it's gonna be tough one it's gonna be tight um in terms of this particular lineup for me um i think for me yeah the question was i would have expected sandro on the opposite side um and maybe if bernardesque is gonna get minutes advance him a bit um i think it's uh i think bernardeschi you know if he's that one ahead of sandro that's great uh but sandro kind of balances out at the back a little bit more if we were gonna go and i have a feeling pierlo's gonna go with this one as a a true three five two or three four one two and then you know it does kind of make sense if you're gonna have bernardeschi in there i just see sandro has become so one dimensional um yeah very very defensive and whatnot and that's not necessarily a bad thing in this particular match but uh bernardeschi has a lot more energy and yes that would go a long way against a team like verona um you know so it's it's kind of a tough one there the other projected lineup which shapes up as a 3-4-1-2 uh that was saying uh this is potentially how pirilla would shape up with chesney and cool demerol de licht and sandro as yours with kiev across the middle with mckenney acting as you're attacking mid and then kulashevsky and cr7 up top this one this one obviously makes much more sense um than that first one because uh the first one we talked about that odd little sector in the back and the left but not only that but if you're gonna have mckinney rabio and ramsay in the middle who do you use as that controller for me it would have to be rabio um and you know i get it that we've seen struggles out of benton court i probably take him [Music] slightly over but i have been making shouts that i would like to see rabiot at least attempt that role and just try it so that's that's kind of a tough one but uh between the two lineups which one would you go for i think i'll go for the earlier one that came out the one you just mentioned there um i'm kind of yeah for me it's about for me it's about unlocking kieza do you know what i mean and um for me uh alex sandro while he's he only has one gear is a good way to put it i think um you don't see him making massive sprints but he he's defensively solid um i know bernadette is a very strong runner but i see his position positional sense defensively for me he i think you know he seems to get very um very confused about you know staying on the on the gold side of his man or or um you know jackie and his his man you know towards the sideline he seems to kind of get in the wrong position and get get overtaken quite easily so um i mean if hero goes with with chiesa and bernardeschi it kind of seems like he wants strong runners on the field early and potentially if we get a good patch of 20 minutes to do the damage then and um and maybe shore it up later on but um yeah i know for me anyway i think the key man today would be would be chiesa i could be wrong though he could have a stinger but i think if we look at those two lineups uh i think again either way i think we're gonna see more of a true 352 and i think because it's gonna allow us to uh again i think pierlo's fully anticipating them setting up their wall at the back and you're probably going to be forced to play through the middle and if you do go with a 3-5-2 it sets you up a little bit more naturally to be able to do that and not just bank on the flanks think the guys that are out there on the flank are going to be struggling for space and time um so we are going to play through the middle so if he uh shapes up as a standard 352 with the help of bernardeschi and kiesa those midfielders will have less coverage that they'll have to cover and can kind of stay in that pocket and hopefully we should be able to play through there a lot easier than if we were trying to do the hybrid transition out of the 442 um in terms of personnel obviously i i think the second one the the lineup that came out earlier with benton corrabio mckinney bernardeschi uh still being a wing back with sandro actually slotting as the left center back i think that works out better um eric coming in with a comment saying that berna takes a lot of criticism but putting him in front of sandra was difficult he has to cover so much ground because of sandra's lack of getting forward that's true however if we play him as just a straight outside he's got even more ground to cover and then he's got some defensive duties that uh have to apply in there so i think it's it's a good balance of both uh we have to make one sacrifice i think uh with either of these uh yeah for being honest uh but uh bernardeschi uh slated to start and i think he's gonna be in there uh 100 percent talks of him getting the armband as well for today's match so uh we will see uh their um in terms of lineups both of them um for me the first one if you have mckinney rabio and ramsey that midfield who's who takes control is a rabio do we finally see that is this the match to risk that because as we say verona will most likely play in their three four one two which means that they will have the middle of the park flooded um so it will be uh interesting for that reason i would probably have ben tinkur in there and i know this was been a rough one a rough little goal for benton court really really taken heat from the fans and whatnot but uh he for me simply is uh he's inconsistent it is what it is out of benton court something that we are we should be used to by now uh when he's on it i think he's he's a good midfielder when he's on it yeah the thing is is that yeah can he be a little error prone yeah for sure he can but he's not that guy to really relieve us from the press and when he becomes error prone is when he's trying to be exactly that something that he really isn't yeah so it's hard to really pigeonhole him and say he's not good or you know he's just uh bang average or whatnot because we're kind of not using them we're using them in a way that he technically really shouldn't and has no business right so that's kind of how i feel so it's kind of hard kind of hard he's filling the gap right now do you know what i mean he's he's doing something that uh that he's not used to i personally feel he could be a decent mezzanine um yeah you know just take him out of that um you know reduce the position um and it's um all of a sudden he becomes a decent player he gets into a little bit more space and like one of his best characteristics is going box to box um and um driving runs where he picks the ball up in midfield or takes it from a full back and and drives through the you know through the midfield and gets all the way to the box and that's you know those are his good characteristics but he's going to have to do it um he's going to have to play the register role and i think like the way we get around it is if the midfielder is compact so if he's not kind of isolated to remain or if if say that the keeper whoever it is or or the on or the center back doesn't just have one option but to play it to benton court if there's if there's mckenney there with with another guy you know with with rabio further up or rabio has dropped back mckinney's further up then you know he he can't be like uh he can't be isolated as easily um you know it like like we've seen in in the last couple of games porto clearly picked him out and and decided you know i think the manager consists ou said it afterwards that you know that was their tactic you know uh and it worked but um yeah so for me the ways to really get around it is uh not to change him because we don't have another option it's to give him support you know um help him to not be isolated in that position you know yeah one of the things that's noticeable too and that particular goal against porto is a prime example as well is that how staggered we are when the ball is at the back you know so it's one thing that many juventu are frustrated in the fact of how often we play from the back under piro and whatnot but regardless of that it's the setup of the players we always constantly cheat we're always cheating for that one uh pass and if you look at this uh the breakdown in the chesney benton core error there in the first couple minutes against puerto rico and um you know if you look at that the way the players are set up benton coors coming back rabio is still yards yards yards ahead of mickey's wales further ahead of uh rabiot um kiesa for some reason is on the opposite side of where he's supposed to be that's a whole nother issue everybody's kind of sent over on the left but i look at this and i think my god the options are just not what they should be so yeah if you have a team that's going to hone in on benton court or whatnot even if you don't bring both those guys back if you're going to play with two pivots bring both of them back let them both be options spread out the opponent don't make it easier for them to say oh we just have to get on this guy you know we just have yeah that's this guy make another guy available sure it might slow us down and we're always looking to cheat on that counter and to take it to them and whatnot but at the end of the day um if it's gonna start making one of our other guys suffer in terms of benton core then you just you got to do it and i've been making the show for a while i think raviol would be just fine if we were going to start to bring him back he's a big physical guy yeah he's pretty strong on the ball i actually have quite a bit of confidence with him on the ball um and not losing it he makes his errors too not nearly as many as uh benton core in my opinion um i'd feel pretty confident with him uh taking the reins back there uh what do you think um i think rabio yeah i mean it's hard for me to say good things about rabio but uh he's not one of my favorite players and like yeah he's big he's physical um when he picks the ball up he can drive with it he's got he's a very strong runner but uh sometimes you don't see that you know sometimes he doesn't use it you know what i mean he's he's like um i don't know like i mean sometimes you see a small player and you know they're they're they're stocky and um like get two so someone like that katusa was actually quite small but um his attitude was big and he could just hop off of guys and really put himself about physically but then you've got someone like rabio who's you know he's actually a bit of a kitten he doesn't really impose himself physically on on guys you see it when he's running with the ball definitely because he protects the ball quite well but um uh we've got no other option the only thing about about uh that midfield is um they don't really have a passing range i mean mckenney is is semi-decent um you know rabio and benton court that's the criticism i would have i mean i'd see even in the last game um we always had an option out on the left we had a player who was kind of like if sandro a lot of the times was free out there and from the center of the field you could see them looking and still they wouldn't play the ball out and that's happened a few times this season um and it's because of their passing range you know what i mean once or twice i've seen benton core play fantastic passes but um do you know what i called it at the time as well but overall his passing isn't great you know so i mean what do you do do you have someone like ramsey but like when ramsay's there he likes to push up the field you know um mckenny also he's he's very effective when you have him high up the fields because you know he can physically impose himself on the opposition and um he kind of plays in you know inside right at times and he's quite good but um so what do you do i mean you have to rely on your your wing backs then to start off the moves and we don't have codrado you know uh we have chiesa so if bernardesque and chiesa are going to start then they're crucial i mean you can't have a situation where bernadette is giving the ball away you know every time he gets it and he's he's had performances like that this season more often than not you know and i don't want to be too negative on him because uh because he's had a hard time simple um he's a we like to see him further up we don't like to see him low picking the ball up and he kind of negates his his strong points but but uh it's kind of hard to see where that killer pass is going to come from you know yeah especially with nobonuchi i think that's uh part of the reason i kind of feel for pierlo as well when we talk about again you've got you don't have enough to fill the roles that you need he just simply doesn't you know when we talk about key guys controlling the ball being at the helm in the middle it's our tour and our tour has no timetable as far as recovering right now it could be it potentially could be season ending uh should he need uh surgery surgery in question so this is again going back to the roster itself and and the players and whatnot so it's a bit of everything it's a bit of pure it's a bit of him having his hands tied because we just again you talk about our midfield we don't have anybody that has that range you know that passing range nobody that has that vision that's even looking for some of these passes when you watch being you could spot multiple times throughout you could pick any match this season any single match a season there are multiple times that pop up in a match where the play is there um and the switch of field is there there is a corner ball that should be played where we can easily gain a lot of field and all of a sudden be in in the attacking uh third and we're not even looking that way yeah as we have all guys that are just focused on keeping the ball making short passes and just knocking it about and slow slow build up you have guys out on the flank unmarked because i saw a scenario the most recent was probably sandro being wide out left actually getting up the pitch ronaldo moving in and as ronaldo slides down the field he literally took two defenders sandro was standing there alone we had the ball in our possession with our midfielder who was supposed to be the controlling guy he didn't even look did not even look and and and the opposition like by virtue of the fact we had space on the on our left that meant the opposition was on the right and we'd still go down the right for a short pass like that was the i mean i think even the commentators picked up on it it was just obvious like and um very frustrating uh it's like it's just um they don't have the range a pass and and they know they don't have the range and they're not even looking it's like yeah you know but all poor i'm all for you know players uh you know can a unit can work together and be strong and whatnot and i totally agree or not but at the same time you cannot make somebody something that he is not is how i feel in terms of these players you can get players that excel in systems that shine and whatnot but you still it's very very hard to turn a player into something else especially certain stages of the career in certain ages and sometimes things like that are really just up to the player themselves and uh you know you could talk about pierlo being a fantastic midfielder world class i just don't see him changing anybody that we have in there now to be a guy that we could use which is a guy that has range that has vision you know whether you choose locatelli or another but you know that's a skill set we need in the middle of the park somebody that can spot those opportunities and pick it out yeah i wait i'm waiting for someone to say fajoli you know that's he does have the range he could he could definitely be that but the thing is again that's why i say i kind of feel like a wasted opportunity against crotoni because i thought that's a perfect scenario just the right bit of intensity okay because it's these are must win matches so just the right bit of intensity but not a heavy opponent uh because it's grotoni you know don't disrespect to them but last place uh in the table that's a perfect start for him let's get him at the start i don't want to see fajoli in a three mil dusted game i want to see him when things are on the line and see how he ticks and when there is a bit of pressure i would have loved to see him in that first half hour when we were flat and grotoni was pressing i wanted to see him react you know i want to see how would he react how would he handle that the fact that we didn't is what leaves me not enough faith to say hey yeah we should we we could play fagioli against verona there's no way i haven't seen enough you know yeah i mean i i like the kid yeah his head is up every time he gets the ball he's on the half turn his head is up he's he's had a good look around before he even receives the ball and yeah he's he keeps his head up he's looking to play the ball forward and and that's that's what we lacked you know um guys in midfield taking heavy touches yeah but again in the three-nil dusted game he had the time he had the time to do that pick his head up spot the things the game was kind of killed off against the copa talia against spal jesus christ rabiot looked like zinedine zidane because you have she looked unreal didn't mean no part so did fajoli fajoli had it very easy in that match there was no there was acres of space for these guys and that's what i mean i want to see him when the pressure's on when teams are pressing and to even towards the cop italia match in about the 70th minute in that range fajoli started to cough the ball up quite a bit and spa was actually pressing and whatnot and you started to see some errors i want to see him from the get-go i think the crotoni match was a missed opportunity because i want to see him under that pressure and i do want to see him make a couple mistakes as weird as that sounds because i want to see how he reacts is he going to hide or is he going to still demand the ball and still want that and want to push forward these are the things i want to see and i want to look at because honestly it's one of the knocks i have against benton court currently is when uh is that head down feeling when he makes a mistake in that hiding i hate that i don't give a if you make a mistake pick your head up and go keep going buffon makes mistakes kellini makes mistakes delic makes mistakes fight always always fight so i want to see this kid in those scenarios but i agree the potential is massive and i do like uh his touch it on the ball is great he settled a couple balls in uh some interesting circumstances against kryptoni he did very very well when he was trapping it his touch was great again he is looking to advance that ball but i think it was just it was just too easy because that game was sealed at three nil um so i just want to see a bit more but i agree i think you could potentially have something uh amazing there with jolie i think how you get him into the game is like if you remember when piero joined um like the press and everybody was saying oh this guy's washed up do you know what i mean yes and and look to be to be fair like he certainly wasn't washed up but his legs weren't they weren't the way they you know like yeah they weren't the same so we had marquisio we had later we had vidal um either side of him and those guys their job was work work work and piero is going to be the register he's going to play so that's how you that's how you do it like i mean um you have to have guys that are basically going to hold his hand through the game and and that's that's how you do it uh yeah but not this game yeah that's what we keep going back to and i do see some uh tweets coming in with me with uh projected lineups from juventini that just and there's quite a few that are throwing fajoli in there and i'm sorry i just i'm not there yet not against uh verona um no it's a it's a tricky tricky match especially away from home it's interesting how uh so many can just feel like uh all these matches they're just gonna be straight forward and whatnot like syria as a whole uh some of these matches especially the ones away from home are just historically nightmares you know and and so so hard but verona's done a good job i mean they're what ninth in in the in the table i believe uh something like that yeah um they've i think they're what three wins four wins out of their last five um they're playing really really good football they have their system they know what works for them okay and they don't shy away from it you know um they just they go about their business they've got a couple uh guys that can uh play to it uh very very good especially in the middle of the park um they've got a couple uh they got a couple of physical presences in there yeah that way that can cause a lot of problems and this is another side of juventus that sometimes frustrates me is that sense of entitlement and when you have to get dirty i question whether these guys are going to be able to get in there with that grinta do you get that feeling sometimes calm yeah i mean it definitely like it's been around for years really um just in the fight you know i mean i forget like the first couple of um skeletons we won with with kante we didn't have great players um you know we didn't have center forwards good center forwards like i mean we had to just fight and it was the skin of our teeth you know every single game was like you know you know a one little win or winning by a single goal or you know um like three nil was a birthday present see what i mean um so um yeah that's that's failed but i mean today i mean i'm just thinking like with everything we've said like we you know we're saying lack of creativity from midfield if piero lines up with wikis as you know as a wingback we want to see him high up the field so how do you build the play if bernadette is there i mean i don't think out of any nail is left if he's trying to build the play for us um but how do you do it i mean for me you have to press like press really really hard um when the opposition have the ball and um you know uh i'm hoping that verona come to play you know what i mean and don't set up and that's just you know with both of these lineups you can easily see that he's possibly gonna go with that three five two or three four one two at a pierlo and maybe that's his game plan is hey get the legs of bernerdeski out there to make that press as intense as we can get those three at the back so that we can maintain them and if they want to line up in that five four one defensive shape we'll make them back the entire match and let's put them under right the only thing is again we're going to be limited to uh if we want to play that way i question how good we're going to play into the middle and be able to create opportunities because when we do that we get too picky um so we just can't be picky if that's the game we want to play and we end up closing them back in that five-man wall cr7 get ready for some crosses because the ball crosses they're coming in there mckenny get up there get involved start looking for uh these headers because uh that's what it's gonna come down to because uh in italy when team set up with that five man across the back it's it's tough to get those opportunities that we want right so it'll be interesting it'll be interesting to see uh this one it really is uh gonna be a chess match 100 um i mean the thing is if if the press works then you have the opportunity to catch them out before they get set into their into their low block you know and um and and you know if you can really put pressure on them um you can do the damage then and then they're forced to come out you know what i mean so like we're here talking about like verona sitting and parking the bus basically but if if if you score from a press and all of a sudden the game changes so if you don't have to come out and then we're in a position where we can counter attack which is you know that kind of leads me on to another subject like i think um like i've been critical about uv's counter-attacking kind of for a good while now um i i feel they need to do a little bit better um they don't seem to have a plan do you know what i mean or to do with a plan plan is get the ball to ronaldo pause but it isn't a tactical plan as such it's kind of wherever ronaldo is it's like ronaldo picks it up gives it out to a winger and he gets into the box and he expects it you know what i mean there's no feels a bit forced uh you know sometimes that we're looking for him and not and missing out the easier decisions because we just want to get it to him i definitely feel that for sure you know um and if if they can improve that um funnily enough i think ronaldo would end up scoring more goals if it worked like that because there's a bit of you know it's a it's a bit randomized versus uh you know prescribed get the walter and aldo you know you could have five guys in the in a counter attack but the guy leading the you know the attack he's if he's just giving it to ronaldo no matter what sure you may as well get rid of the other trees you know they're not there so um yeah i just think they need to improve there but sometimes the counters not even involving uh ronaldo like uh i can think of the one uh with morata where he's running he's got kies on the left side ronaldo simply taking his defender with him yeah and morata doesn't even the easiest play is get it to kiesa and then attack and be that option kiesa can take his man on either shoot or he can cross the ball morata just simply i don't even know what he does he just holds and holds until he loses it and counter attacks for me is how many we don't actually register an opportunity on that's that we don't even get a shot off yeah i can deal with you know missing the goal or a keeper making a big save or whatnot but what i can't deal with is when we have these odd man rushes and we literally squander them and end up with not even an opportunity yeah for me that's that's a lack of a plan do you know what i mean like you know a lot of a lot of people watching football might think okay a counter attack is is kind of everybody run forward but there's a it's not there's a there is a plan you know it's it's there is a shape that guys get into you will usually see two wide players and the guy in the middle will have will have an option he'll force the defender to either pick up the the y player or to make the choice to stay with the ball and then he'll make a decision based on that or they'll they'll just move the ball quickly do you know what i mean otherwise um it doesn't doesn't seem to be a plan there i think chiesa is probably um you know he's one of our more dangerous players on a counter-attack um i like the way he crosses the ball i like the way he takes on the defender he stands the defender up and um and then he shifts the ball quickly and he's got a lot of pace to do damage and then at the end of it his finish is excellent he's shooting and he's he's got a killer instinct for that you know and um that's like we need that we cannot do without that um yeah kosevsky's been uh i would say um i don't know he's lacked a bit of that right for me is what he didn't miss yeah yeah you know hit and miss you do you just you just don't uh you don't know um antonio coming in here with uh while we were discussing uh midfielders and whatnot at this rate pierlo might have to pull the laces back on and play some of those i'll appear low passes yeah uh i think he said that during the week as well he said unfortunately i can't i can't go out there and help them you know but um yeah yeah and um yeah it is what is now everything we've discussed everything we've talked about and kind of analyzed both clubs and what could possibly happen what could be seen it's that time where we're gonna and i know you don't like predictions and you don't do predictions but you don't have to give a score line but it could be as simple as does uv pull through and get the victory today are we going to get a draw is it going to be a banana a slip on the banana peel here you know what are your thoughts what are your end feelings here in this one and everybody that's joining us live here get your predictions in everybody i want to hear uh how we're feeling today and uh before you even give your thought on what i want to ask you colin do you are you a superstitious guy do you is there any pregame rituals is there something you do on match days uh what's it like on match day for it um yeah it will be fairly superstitious um i kind of what do i do so like i think i'm in a official fan club and part of the the thing with that is you do the prediction you know and um on the app and um i've done that for quite a while it's really only to help out the fan club but the last game i forgot about the uva one three nil so i won't be doing it today like that's that's that's out of the question so it's not going to happen yeah i've got this jersey on me now but i probably will take it off before to kick off i feel like if i if i get too revved up for it shit's going to go crazy and then um i'm not gonna that's uh that's funny yeah i uh i actually forgot to put the predictions in on the last one too and again yeah you're right they went to three nil i didn't think about that maybe i'll skip out on today's as well i mean what do i think about the game like i think they will pull through um it's not going to be a massive um victory it could be it could be a 2-1 2-l but again i mean we said like earlier on if if if you impress and they get a goal from that early then then verona could come out as long as you they are defending well which i you know i actually feel very confident about the defense um then uh we could see three we could see three yeah i think that that first goal is going to be crucial um in this one um definitely want to not allow them to comfortably go into a shell uh verona should they choose um daniel jafari coming in with a 1-1 draw which i could easily see david uh for faro coming in with one nil uh being a slow defensive game um iskander uh nil two for uv uh very often we're going to get that three points in a very valuable and must win uh i think it is going to be very very tight i don't know how many uh clear opportunities uh yuvey will get but with uh some question marks at the back uh in terms of uh even dragonson uh going in there not i feel like verona might be able to get a few opportunities decent ones uh whether they can capitalize or not is another story but i think things are tighter for juventus uh again depending on lineup from one to the next we have two projections that it looks like it could be uh that would change the scope of things quite a bit and i personally think uva will get it done having to put a score line to it i think uh i could see it being a 2-1 type of match with that goal coming uh rather late um so i think we're in for a bit of a grind and for a sweaty one yeah one for uv yeah and uh yeah it's get ready for a grind though juventinia this is uh i don't think we're gonna be into uh a fun one uh probably gonna be one of those matches where if you're on twitter while it's happening uh you're gonna see some very reactionary uh uh takes uh a lot of it a lot of it uh and uh it's gonna be taiwan is kander saying come on uh we need uh you and call now the winning mentality well we called victories called all the victory you know uh have faith they'll get the job done and uh um is kander if you're around you can join uh myself and antonio for the live stream while it's happening and get those reactions uh yeah um i think this is gonna be a tough one and uh man i already see uh things based on projections uh juventini going at pierlo uh and uh rack uh ragging on it for starting 11 but again how many actual options does he have and even the guys that are in the lineup i want to remind many juventini about what's going on benton coors had an issue with his foot for quite some time okay and he's battled through it and he's played through it mckenney has had an issue with his hip and he's been battling through it and he's been playing through it kulashevsky had an illness he played through morata we brought him in i couldn't understand the substitute of bringing the guy that fainted the match before and you were winning comfortably against crotoni but you choose to that was bizarre not wrecking ronaldo in a dusted game probably wanted to pass that a bit the stat pad a bit more in the capo canyon i don't know but even the guys that are in the lineup are dealing with quite a bit this is a crazy crazy scenario for juventus where even guys in the lineup aren't actually a hundred percent uh yeah i mean we don't like sometimes we expect that you know everyone who starts you know if he's starting or if he's on the bench that means he's 100 percent um like um most professional sportsmen will tell you they play through pain all the time you know it's not it's just part of the gig like you take an injection and the way you go you know or take a tablet or you know and away you go and so yeah i mean morata had a flu he was yeah a bad flu apparently he fainted after the um the game you know uh so i mean yeah like it's just to keep in mind for everybody that uh you know we wanna you wanna uh rag pirlo on starting lineups and everything like that but there's a lot of nagging lingering uh things with even the guys that are in there um and uh it is what it is he's got a ton of injuries to deal with gotta factor in some rotation uh we've got suspension for danilo um he's just uh he's dealing with it uh the best he can and honestly i think out of the two lineups we saw either one of them is not a drastic change from one to the next to really yeah act pierlo so to speak as to his starting elevens are garbage based on something i read literally this morning um i don't think that's fair to say that uh he's got garbage elevens especially now when we went over this massive list of uh injuries you know um so it's very uh it's just it's being a bit fickle i think if uh we're gonna go out uh purely like that so um with both lineups i ultimately think uva uh should get the job done here and i think they will um and uh the bottom line is we need to yeah we have to yeah things go on and one thing that's very very interesting that's kind of low-key uh been going on out there and i believe it was niko shira that uh brought it up uh brought it to light or whatnot that lazio is being investigated um for tampering coveted results i tweeted on that as well yeah and can you imagine world war iii should yuva be awarded the victory in that match that ended in draw there oh baby and if we get that this race is flipped it is flipped uh quite a bit and that would be that would be the type of thing that would lead away at the mentality of kante and merda you could just see it and i would love the uproar and honestly while i want the results on the pitch or whatnot i kind of really want this to happen because i think the other teams would just this would be another thing where we're always in their head as it is always in their minds as it is and something like that boom but in terms of sporting and whatnot if lotito and lazio were doing that they deserve everything they get yeah like just to remind people like the story was and this happened uh i think it was fairly soon after juve played them um it came out that uh one a couple other players went to play the champions league and um the the like the pre-game round the tests ruled them out and then all of a sudden for the very next game the test said no no you're fine so they came back to play syria and um that had been happening for a couple of weeks and it turned out they'd been sending their tests to two different labs and i think someone did a a meme at the time of a picture of lutido with two phones and he's there and he said well which which phone would i listen to here like you know i like this one you know but um so that's uh like that's i'm not surprised that's part of syria that's part of italian football like in particular lazio um but um for a long time lots of had huge issues with uh you know um not paying their bills you know yeah and all that but we'll see we'll see what happens but that's an interesting interesting uh scenario to be following in the background be very very interesting and then aj coming in here with imagine those are the two points that win a syria and people will say pierlope masterclass ah take it easy take it easy hey if piro gets the job done ultimately and he had to be rewarded three points in that honestly that's still a fantastic job for a manager that had as much experience as i did uh taking over juventus so it's still still uh topping i could care less i mean if we win i mean i'm not gonna stand here and say oh i really hope you know really really hope we we get it like you know but but uh if i'm gonna take it it's gonna be like 2002 a gift a gift of escoretto yeah do you know what i mean so um you take it because just as many you get you know against you but yeah and uh antonio coming in calling a three-nil victory and also calling a uh a good session of drinking there as he says he's very nice i i'd love to join you guys for that i'll be having a beverage there as well uh yeah me too and uh so yeah we talk about this potential with the points there and latio and whatnot and all this uh scudetto and man a lot of fans is thinking it's over um far far from it um and honestly any way we get it done i don't care the 10th straight is massive i saw a lot of fans discussing either the 10th straight or champions league and which would you take and what would you want and uh the one question i saw was would you take the 10th string now win the champions league next year would you win champions league this year and and i'm thinking and what what the hell are we doing i want it all first of all i always want everything one at all but the tenth straight is massive and i know that people just throw down syria and saying ah it's nothing why would you want something that's uh like the scudetto like that that you've dominated for whatnot or would you not want that trophy you've been chasing for so long the 10th straight is like the the the stamp on the big you to the club that tried to murder us yeah absolutely that's that's it i mean i can remember i used to play pro evolution soccer with if you know the game on the on the playstation with a buddy of mine from milan and uh here in ireland actually and um uh like he he was the guy that broke the news that juve were were going to be sent down you know a trial that took three and a half weeks and this was a complete farce yeah yeah it was a first because apparently it takes a decade for someone to be you know sent down for murder in italy but you can you can send your way down in three weeks you know you know but i i told i remember standing up i was really pissed off and i told him you were going to come back and they're going to rule with an iron face that they're going to completely take over and this is it a decade i might like i grew up in in the 90s where we fought it out with you know with milan like you know at the beginning of the 90s where you know milan had a great team you've had a great team as well they had a great team as well you know and still couldn't win um and then we got a few victories around the mid 90s like 95 96 97 97 98 but then you had roma you paramount use lazio that one as well and an inter and you know to have a full decade of of dominance i don't care what extenuating circumstance you can say you know or what excuse or what way to tear it down in a hundred years time people will you know look at juve's records be like 10 years in a row that is incredible and it will never be repeated you know so absolutely massive i want that tenth uh incredibly uh badly and uh it is it's that big massive fu to everybody else and uh we're back we're dominating and i want that stamp on i want that tent but it kicks off here today with verona and let's get by this uh this tricky one so thanks colin for joining me man it's been a blast been having a lot of fun chatting uv with you and getting ready for this one thanks everybody who joined in on the live uh with the comments and the predictions and has been great keep in mind live stream today for the match live reactions uh joining me if you can uh it's going to be a lot of fun and antonia will be my guest for that one um enjoy the match everybody uh get ready for uh a tough one um but hopefully uh the boys prevail and we can continue uh climbing uh and moving forward and uh let's see uh what happens but uh yeah the biggest thing is enjoy the match don't get uh too sucked into uh some of the uh negativity and takes that can happen out there what not let's try and uh be behind uh pierlo and these guys um enjoy it all uh i'll be back with another post match podcast as well tomorrow with a first time guest and that will be live at five where we can really truly break it down uh as always till next time which will be a few hours from now five hours forza yuve pino a la fina ciao
