Federico Kaza is deal agreed according to fabito Romano who I've always always said is the best journalist in the game I've always said that deal agreed 10.9 million pounds with some ad owns wouldn't imagine there'll be too much in that 10.9 million pounds for a 26y old International player with proven quality who can play four positions in our team and if he needed them to could do a shift in a couple of others as well I know he has some injury concerns went through them yesterday they're overblown this is an unbelievably good deal we got a similar fee for Bobby Clerk if we sell Ben do in the next couple of days will get that type of fee as well Manchester United spent 85 million on Anthony Chelsea spent 75 million on myo mudri this guy is 10 times the player either of them will ever be knee injury or no knee injury this is an unbelievably good deal now he still has to pass the medical but I'm pretty confident that'll be fine pretty confident that would be fine don't think we'd have gone this far if we weren't fairly certain we will have had some medical reports on him already looks like a four-year contract which is good seems like the wages are going to be in line with what we would want to pay I there's just no downside to this deal at all none at all people will try and find the downside to have a big cry about it but there's no downside here this is a really good deal for us worst case scenario we're selling him in two years for around what we paid for him probably a bit more best case scenario he comes in and takes a starting spot on the Left Flank I think he's going to come in primarily as the backup to Mo but Federico kza at his best is a better player than Cody gako or Luis Diaz he's younger than Luis Diaz as well this is such a Michael Edwards deal I know it's Richard Hughes that's been there and and gotten the deal done but the framework of the deal getting it so cheap opportunistic that is entirely Michael Edwards The View that this is a panic buy is just hilarious because number one we've liked him for six years since he was at fantina number two we tried to buy him in 2021 and number three wing was not a priority for us this summer wasn't a priority at all so it can't be a panic buy if you're buying a player in a position that wasn't a priority if we went out and signed let's say Christian norgard right we know we need a six so if we went out and signed Christian norgard who doesn't really fit the profile of what we want isn't a top four caliber player isn't a title winning caliber player but would do a job for us that would be a panic bik that would be a panic bik but signing ker is is not now signing Kaza and signing madash Vil does not take away from the fact that we need a Defender a left-sided Defender and a defensive midfielder it does not and cannot take away from the fact that those two things which were our two biggest needs coming into the summer have not yet been addressed there's still all of today there's tomorrow and there's Friday there's still plenty of time to get deals done there's time to trigger a release clause for verel for Hilman to fill that number six position just's time to strike a deal for that left-sided Defender we have more than enough capable people who can get deals done it doesn't just have to be used the there's also Edwards there's also Ward they can all be working on different things at different times and I would imagine they are someone's working on the sales two two others can work on purchases does look like Hughes was in charge of this uh Kaza deal and fair play he's gotten it wrapped up quickly Romano broke the news that we'd approached them on Monday night and here we are lunchtime on Wednesday and he is now traveling what he's to to travel to uh Mery side today deal should be confirmed by tonight madash confirmed yesterday by the club if kza gets confirmed today wouldn't it just be fantastic if another one got confirmed tomorrow and another one got confirmed on Friday and we got the crescendo that Richard Hughes mentioned and the thing is this deal hasn't just been sorted out in two days like we will have put groundwork in on this as we will have put groundwork in on a lot of other deals and their deals that we'll probably never hear about like in the past with Edwards he would have personal terms agreed with three and four players for one position and then it would just be a matter of seeing which club was willing to play ball he would have agreements with clubs on prices but never return back to them so and you know you'd only hear about it years afterwards so it is very possible that there's something else in the pipeline something potentially quite big for us I do think there's a couple more that will leave obviously bage is going to solsburg on loan it's an odd move because for the caliber of player we believe is there or or we as a fan base believe is there that's a very lowlevel League like I could say I can understand Bobby Clark going there he's not at the same level as Stefan as a player so I can understand him going there to start building himself up and developing but like the Austrian League Quality quality wise it's somewhere between the low end of the championship and the high end of League one similar enough you know what it is it's basically the Scottish Premiership where you've got Celtic and Rangers although in this case it's basically Red Bull salsburg and sometimes you get a contender like Star Gratz last last year who won the double at Las were a contender but they're more like your like an Aberdine or a heeran or a hars they're not really a Rangers to a Celtic or a Celtic to a Rangers the rest of the league is quite low quality now it should be really good for them to go over there and get confidence and play well and win every week and dominate the ball every week but that move for stefen tells me they think this year we'll send them there next year we're going to send send them somewhere else on loan rather than this year he's there and next year he's back with us I'll also be curious to see where they play him because they've got quite a few number sixes including an excellent young number six and Lucas gorard do who I would love us to na like if we wanted someone to bring in to develop in that position he's about the best you could go and get huge potential he's good enough to play now but the ceiling on him is massive so maybe part of it is US securing some sort of future agreement on him or you know at least having an excuse to have a scout there every week to watch him because they'll be there to watch Stefan the Morton to Leverkusen deal was rumbling on an option to buy apparently there's some suggestion we're pushing for an obligation to buy now seemingly lusen have promised he'll play in 50% of the games again and that's very low this is a guy who in the last two years has been starting pretty much every week now in Truth at Blackburn it was because that was what the loan agreement said and they didn't want to pay Financial penalties CU he lost form but they kept him in the team he played 46 games last year he played 41 and all competitions but he was playing really well for Hull but if he goes from 4641 to like I don't know 28 29 and they're not starts they're sub appearances let's say he gets 15 starts and 15 sub appearances that's a big dip in his minutes from what he's done the last two years I don't know that that necessarily helps his development and they are pretty well stocked in Midfield with Jacka andrich Alex Garcia who they've just signed and obviously Ezekiel palasio when he goes back from injuries it feels to me like this is sort of a deal where lusen might take him on loan for the first half of the season to cover until pus comes back and then the loan might get terminated in January and we might have to find another home for him and that doesn't help his value now I know we've got quite a high value set on him and as we've seen with with SE and with carvalo we're not willing to budge off them but this just doesn't seem like the best loan for him there's a bunch of clubs in the Bundesliga if he want to go and Loan where he could go and start every week Leverkusen just isn't one of those teams but he will work under a good manager he will work with really good players he'll be out a club playing in the Champions League so maybe the environment helps them a lot I hope he does well wherever it is he lands I I I like the player I just don't think he's ever going to be of the standard that that we want uh for our team um certainly not as a starter and I don't think he's all that interested in just being a squad player which is why I think he's going if I mean if he was happy to be a squad player he'd be staying with us maybe he thinks he can go to Leverkusen yeah and if he if he does maybe he has that confidence he can go Leverkusen start we'll see um Ben dook obviously potentially a departure this week uh Kade Gordon looks like he'll go on loan Joe Gomez there's still a lot of talk about and we'll see what happens with him and then Costa simus there's some reports that he could go on loan we'll see we'll see what happens with him don't really know what the purpose of him would be if we got in the Left sided Defender we want but yeah you know he seemed lucky costus won't cause trouble car won't kick up a he's just a very happy guy in general but I think for the sake of his career and for the sake of the club's wage bill it's a little bit meaningless to keep them around if we can get that Defender and if we don't that obviously will be a significant failure on the club's behalf as it will be a significant failure if we don't get that number six in and if we don't get either of them then the club should be hammered now they should still be praised for selling well and for the two deals we've done but there was two very clear needs and if you don't address either of them you should be absolutely hammered for it you've had all summer I know you wanted to go over the squad and and do like a full inventory on what you had and who you had and what you wanted to do with them but it was blatantly obvious before any of that that there was not a good enough starter at left back or a good enough six and nothing has happened to change those facts I do like how we've how we've operated though like think about it we got for Fabio carvalo is it 22 million RIS to 20 seven and a half is I think that's right which is double what we're pting for Kaza and with the greatest of respect to Fabio carvalo he's never going to be as good as kza he's going to be a good player but he's never going to be as good as federo Kaza and even with the
