Miami Hurricanes depth rotation issues and defensive scheme break down UNC games film review

hey everybody how y'all doing this is uh LJ Kane now you can call me groovy Lou also but um you know you could I either go by groovy Lou or LJ Kane doesn't matter but uh I'll be coming to you guys off allow me to be able to do this you know I'm saying to share my expertise is share my opinion about the state of University of Miami in football program and other things but uh today I wanted to come on here and just talk about a couple things that it's just been always been on my mind about University of Miami for the past couple years and I feel like who know with this being our third coaching staff that we don't had in the last couple years I just be wondering like why why don't we ever like maximize our potential at different positions meaning play everybody like play all positions if you're a backup if you're a third fourth screen we're Miami we got the depth we have the talent that if we're if you're a coach and we're teaching a certain thing to the players and they're not taking to what you're teaching then try somebody else don't just let this player just sit the bench and don't even figure it out like I will be trying to exhaust every Avenue to fix the issues with Miami like tackling like long coverage misassignments like just coaching skiing period like it's it's a few things that's wrong with University of Miami that I don't agree with but I'm going to specifically talk about player in rotation and how I feel like we don't rotate enough it's the same players every week that's not getting the job done and it might be a coaching thing it's probably it's mostly a coaching thing or whatever and rotation is a coaching thing because coaches make the decision who to put on a field and I most of the time I don't agree with how they how they they maximize our potential we just I feel like we come we come in these new coaching staff or if it's the old coaching staff that was here they had a grid or a grade they said okay we're going to play this amount of players and we're not going to pay this amount of politics and I don't think that's fair you know what I'm saying I think freshmanship play especially the highly recruited freshmen that you guys recruited I think you guys if if coach if you're promoting that oh if you're recruiting this player he's a four or five star and you're promoting that oh you're going to get plan time when you get here or whatever like that then he gets here and then you're like hesitant on putting them on the field because this game might be too big for him this this man is support for five star player what do you mean the game is too big for him to play him don't hold him back unless you're trying to reassure him but the players that I'm talking about Miami is not registering these players these players are sitting in the bench and playing special teams and just wasting their eligibility and I just feel like everybody should be utilized I don't care if you're eight screen ninth screen whatever you know uh last week uh last week the University of Miami just lost suffered a tough loss to a University of North Carolina in the tough game and um I was the one and you go put up uh uh keynesboro order uh YouTube page like uh with Lonzo I actually brought up I told I had Lonzo pull up Kobe Young's highlight tape and I'm like okay since since King's Nations uh people feel like Miami doesn't have enough talents and receivers or our receivers aren't talented enough I was like that's that's [ __ ] that's [ __ ] we we have depth at every position and if somebody go down First Street go down the second string go down thirdly third screen go down we have someone that we could put in or we have someone if this player is not taking to what he's being taught or is not fulfilling what he needs to getting the job done we have somebody else that we can try at least attempt to try to fix the situation that's gonna listen whether that's a freshman or whoever you know what I'm saying I'll stop at walk-offs but I don't have a problem with walking but I'ma just stop there but I'm just saying we have enough players that we can play before we have to let it be a last resort for us to have to play a walk-on you know what I'm saying like we we honestly do like I know many Diaz and Mark Rick had to deal with like sanctioned lingering sanction issues where we couldn't really play we didn't really have the debt at the positions that we had so we kind of had to be stuck with playing these certain players that was messing up every week but I feel like now we don't have to do that we have so many players on our roster that everybody who's eligible to play and who passed clock and who's has size and girth and athleticism should be on the field plan at least attempting to play so I'm gonna uh right now I'm gonna go to my other screen and I'm gonna show y'all like I'm gonna go to the depth chart first and then I'm gonna go through a couple of highlights and um plays highlights and these these highlights that I'm going to be pulling up are from like the spring game it's not even though it's not a real game or whatever but Miami like these are the plays that I'm talking about just like if we recruit a player and this player plays this way or high school I expect that player to play like that in college or whatever that might all not always be the case but I don't feel like a player forgets how he plays or whatever I do feels like sometimes players are recruited and they might not be on the level because of size and dirt but if the player has the size and the girlfriend athleticism to be on a power five and a power five situation I don't feel like they forget how to play their game and then sometimes players get recruited into the wrong scheme you know what I'm saying but that's a whole nother story but I'm just going to show y'all what I'm talking about so I'm going to go to my other screen right here right and um and pull up my other screen okay pull it up put enough for y'all to see and I'm gonna go click on it okay okay see this is the Miami depth chart okay all right so offenses up up top right here and defense is down bottom and special teams we're not even going to get into special teams because special team is pretty much solidified so what I'm gonna get into is okay I'm gonna just go from offense and down to defense offense okay these are the receivers over here right we've lost Xavier Restrepo and Jacoby George for a significant time we lost the um would have put and George with a hand so they're gonna be awesome time those are our two best top receivers the best receivers that we had that was contributing but we have enough depth where that shouldn't affect us next man up we have plenty of next men is this is what this video is about we have Queen and next man that we can play so you know Keyshawn gets a lot of playing time he plays Frank Lassen is uh transferred he transferred in from Clemson he's from Miami he's been he's I always felt like he was good they maybe the coach of staff had to see but he he he's been coming along they need to use him more Michael Redding has has blossomed this year every he's been solid although he has a couple drops this year he's getting better he deserves playing time Rashad Smith after Rochelle on the salon he's the guy you know just getting him the ball getting him reverses give him bubble screens get him bubbles get him get him the ball Kobe like romelo Brunson just off of his ratings alone he was like the third highest four third or fourth highest rated player in our recruiting class that had that featured minute Taylor James Williams Jake Garcia romelo Brunson you know now romelo doesn't have quick speed like that so no coach don't don't put him in orbit motion don't put him don't give him plays like that give him plays where he can make athletic plays remember the Central Connecticut game last year when he made that one hand catch he's a freak of a player you just got to get him the ball give him a chance to get out there you know and a lot of times with our coaching staff that I see if we if we bring a player Off the Bench and he's been in the back of the bench and you bring him up like we brought Kobe young last name in the North Carolina game he did good if we bring a player like that Off the Bench then they sit the other player romello Brunson didn't even get any plan time and then you UNC game and don't say YouTube about 57 times don't say it was enough room for him to get in and play Yo No put him in the game and give him an opportunity to get in the to get some catches and make some blades you know play Kobe too you know what I'm saying I feel like everybody nobody on Miami team should be safe everybody should rotate I feel like every every all of these players are rotating players there's nobody that's solidified with their spy at no position for the University of Miami we're two and three nobody is solidified so that means everybody should rotate and that way that means don't sit players you wasting opportunities you know what I'm saying so call me on I mentioned Kobe on before and I reason why I mentioned Kobe young because everybody was saying that we didn't have enough talented receivers if you look at Kobe young highlight tape from when he played Juco he is a big receiver and he is a 50 50 ball receiver if you throw the ball up he's going to get it he's going to High Point the ball he's good at tracking the ball he's not super fast and Blazer but he has he's he's about six five six six and he has an advantage over opposing DBS so you really just got to give him a chance to make a play so that's for that alone right there he deserves to be attempted to put on the field he should have been put on the field Bethune game Southern Mississippi Southern um Mississippi Miss game uh all of the games that we played pretty much Texas A M we we couldn't do anything in the red zone we tried to run the ball it wasn't working out hey ever since I've been playing football and I if I'm close to the end zone I'm at least through a fade everybody knows they can throw a fade this guy's six six he's the best he's a basketball player also so like why wouldn't I put him in the game and try I don't care if he didn't play All Season that's good they don't have any film on him put him in the game put him in the game give him an opportunity it shouldn't have took the fifth game of the season for y'all to figure it out uh we got a six six six five guy on the field that can jump but we keep calling these plays and getting stuck or whatever well all we gotta do is single him out single room out on on island get him out on the island one-on-one and throw the fade rod and quarterbacks give him a chance to catch the ball he's six six okay that's one player I called it out I didn't hear anybody in the nation in in King's Nation or anybody talking about Kobe young before I mentioned Kobe young with Lonzo and Lonzo can verify that now we gotta we got offense alignment here I think we're good Zion Nelson and John um John Campbell we're good over here even though you know Campbell hasn't been you know anything up and down but hey hey for the most part I feel like he's been good McCoy is a freshman so I understand why you know they're not really using him they might want to save him save his years Rivers has been solid Campbell's just back up then we got to see more Seymour's a red shirt freshman I feel like he you know if our injuries or if the guy ain't doing right what I mean put him in coach he got at some point he got to learn Clark is our starting center he got in he got injured but Chicago's been getting beat too Jonathan Dennis transferred with Mario crystal ball once he started not Can't Get Right give him some snaps get him get him ready he's a rich he's a sophomore you know just as a just as a while this is his first year starting he didn't start last year he beat out whoever he beat out he starts for the starting spot he's been struggling this year it's been vividly he's been struggling he had been some good plays this year but he was struggling for the most part so we have uzman and we have Logan soccer Polo now didn't y'all say this dude been 700 pounds or Squad at 700 or something like that why haven't why haven't I seen these guys and why does it take an injury for me to see these guys why they're haven't they been rotated in anyway that's called getting your players ready to play at certain points in the game this is you know if we're going to rotate every position and I understand I understand if I understand by not rotating lineman is not like the thing to do but I'm just saying if if Justice Ottawa it's been getting beat so bad this year that he deserves to get subbed out at least some places I don't care what y'all say about about that that's just how I feel stay up and down we got Inez Cooper I seen him a little bit and I don't I haven't seen them in weeks I haven't seen him in about two weeks now I don't know what's going on um will Mallory will Mallory had a good game against North Carolina but up until that game he had been struggling I like Elijah Royal but y'all haven't been getting him the ball you know he's injured he's gonna be off sometimes so now Skinner moves up Khalil Bradley is a pass catching wide receiver you can put him at fullback people put them at Wing I don't understand why we don't use him a lot I would use him at fullback Dominic mamarelli this is our blocking tight end I like memory memories of coffee you can go out and catch the ball too but his main thing is wedges and helping on blocking I haven't seen him I didn't see him that much in the game early and then you don't play them late Jake Garcia I mean uh Tyler Van Dyke and Jay Garcia you know I feel this is just my opinion Jay Garcia at least should get three dry uh two or three drives throughout the game any game in the first half give him give him a drive maybe give him two depending on how we doing if we come up playing from behind then I understand it second half give him a drive at least give him one you feel me because this this might be the game he might be hot I ain't saying and it ain't about sitting towel it's about getting getting Jake ready getting him reps because you don't know if this guy might get hurt the next place so I'm it's about keeping these guys ready and developing these players gradually I feel like on the goal line since we having so much goal line trouble with scoring we could play Jacory Brown Jacari Brown use them in goal line situation he's big and athletic we're not really using him right now I don't really see him playing until like really competing and so like maybe next year if Tyler leaves if Tyler leaves and go to the draft and he really has a legitimate chance to beat the second screen or the first screen you never know you know um so I feel like for this year why he's third screen dude is like six five six four to 220 or two something like that or 210 whatever he is athletic if he watches highlights he can he's very athletic so for right now while he's learning the past let's use that use his legs as a threat let's use this let's maximize our potential the high heightening our chances by the goal line to get points you know running back situation Henry perish I'm fine with Henry repairs I'm fine with Jayla knighten I'm fine with that is Franklin because we've lost we lost Cheney for significant time early then we then he continues the battle with um injury and then we lost trevante citizen our highly recruited four-star freshmen who I was hoping we was hoping to contribute contributed to the backfield this year but he's out for the season so they're out so now Jaylen knighten and Henry Parish have they've been having lingering in um lingering injuries throughout the year so they haven't really played all the way up to what their potential because they've been like they've been having little knickknacks and it's understandable because they play running back that is Franklin needs to be utilized more um and we got lucious Stanley I I I personally I think that Lucia Stanley should get one get the UPS over Devon Perry because Lucia Stanley has played three years he played three years at UAB and his style of run is like a piece of grinding he's a banger he's gonna stick his foot in the ground and run somebody over and get one yard two yards and that's all I need from him so that spells to me that's a goal line running back for me you know if that can't get the job done if the lion can't get the job done put Lucius in or if we get an injury or whatever we got other running backs that we that's serviceable and I'm gonna also throw in that Rashard Smith can be can play running back too I'm just gonna just keep I'm gonna reiterate that Rashard Smith can play running back if we really need him they run it back we could play running back the production we got out of Jaylen knighten and Ken repair if you can get the same production out of out of Rashard Smith if you really need me to so I'ma just leave that there now on to the defense defense is more of my specialty so I'm going to talk about defense yeah Hakeem asador loving them loving them you know he I want him to make more plays but for the most part he's been he's been he been solid probably most one of our most solid defensive lineman he had an injury or whatever I don't understand why Chase went is Chance William injured is Chance injured or something I haven't seen him every chance ever since he switched his number I don't know like what happened I see I've seen Elijah Roberts getting played in playing time last year the sophomore from Columbus you know what I'm saying Jabari Ishmael from Columbus you know still still learning you know I haven't seen what he did in practice whatever but hey I still feel like hey when he's on the roster board we're not using chance he played some if he ain't gonna get y'all ain't gonna play him let's let's see what he got okay Harrison Hood Lena Taylor stud you know but he played when he want to play I need him to play every game all tree's been he been doing some things that I like you know what I'm saying I understand if you want to pay the Freshman this year you want to waste waste this year I understand that I understand that Daryl Jack Daryl Jackson he's been getting he been getting planted me doing this thing whatever I need him to make more plays but you know Jordan Miller just came back from an injury so we're gonna see Lincoln Stein needs to play more he's been doing some good things Adam hey I like Alan hay too when recruiter we got to see maybe that that right there is full right there so you know we got to keep working Safari Harvey he's been probably our most consistent the lineman but I don't like the way y'all use them y'all dropping him back and making him a spy no let him go get the quarterback Mitchell gutier uh agudo transfer from UCLA we got to use him use him more stop dropping him back like he's he's a linebacker but stop I don't like him dropping in colors like we need him to go get the quarterback naturally Kelly he's been playing good for a freshman but teach him how to set the edge teach them how not to lose containment you know you need we need to do that but I like nigely Kelly Thomas Davis he needs to get he needs to get into rotation if you're not going to play Chance Williams then Thomas Davis needs to be on the field because from where I've seen him Offspring doing good and y'all raved about him and now y'all not paying him for what for what let's get him some reps let's see maybe he can get back there you know we're not getting enough pressure maybe he can add some pressure he has speed he might not be the biggest but he got speed now now this is now we got the front end we got offense out of the way this is the main part of this segment that I want to focus on because I feel like this this is where our major issues start other than offense with the offensive coordinator get us in that situation that's that problem but the problem on defense is first off Kevin Steele scheme uh Kevin still skiing uh uh Charlie Strong I don't know if you're getting through to the linebackers I I see what you're teaching but I'm not seeing like what's going on there so that's Kevin Steele and Charlie Strong um I got issues with y'all because I don't know every week I don't know what you're doing coach uh DB coach uh a daddy I'm sorry about pronounce your name on I don't know how I pronounce the name but I'm gonna just say a daddy um in in in in in in in in DVD like you know um I'ma just do one at a time so linebacker with coaching whatever I just feel like every week that I've been watching the Miami hurricane ever since last year too Corey Flagg and Wayman Steve has been predominantly the linebackers has been playing and getting out there um precise like last year was Bradley Jennings Jr and um another linebacker that oh they ain't hear them they're not here no more go ahead Corey Flags junior is Wayman Steve Jr have been the linebackers have been getting the most played those two guys there and I'm not tearing y'all tearing you guys down they haven't been getting the job done I don't know if it's because I and it's because of skiing and like how they're using them or whatever so you know I just feel like with the defense that we're running how we went to like four two five and with Manny and how these spread offenses that we play I just feel like Corey Flagg isn't the right fit for the scheme that we run any debt he's not a good player is that he don't fit the scheme for what other opposed what offices we're going to be going up against you know what I'm saying so for that I just feel like he shouldn't be he shouldn't be starting lemon Steve has the size and everything but he has he missed he misses topic continues to miss topic and continues to mess up and that's cool that's fine and dandy but I feel like if a player messes up that should lead opportunities for other guys to get more playing time or even start over them I'm not saying don't play them I'm just saying so let's try something else right there so in my personal opinion I feel like from what I've seen on tape and what I've seen I feel like Caleb Johnson should start at linebacker and I feel like and I feel like at this point in the season at this point of the season I'm gonna start either start or he's going to get a lot of playing time Wesley been Wesley the same what you know that's just my opinion but um I would start Caleb Johnson and I would start uh if you want two traditional more more linebacker type of dudes out there I would put Caleb Johnson and man I was I'm just keep it real I would start Caleb Johnson in in Wesley then I would play Corey Flagg behind Caleb Johnson and I would play Wayman Steve were actually have to rotate in with Javon um kiantra Smith and um and Gilbert Frierson that would have to be a rotation there and I and hey if Caleb Johnson doesn't do good we rotating in or whatever and then I still play get get Chase Smith some reps even though he has he been having technique issues or whatever that's another coaching point but yeah and then another thing if these linebackers are not if they're doing so bad every week and they're not doing their assignment where is Avery hub this is now the third coaching staff that has come and Avery her name hasn't came up at all he hasn't had one snap this year he probably played special teams look can't just do the six three like 220. nice size nice speed can can cover he can cover better than Corey Flagg he can drop better than cover before he black I'm pretty sure he can make plays I don't understand why y'all don't play him I know y'all said we don't see I don't see him practice but I've seen enough where I seen enough from other guys that he deserved against playing time Manny Diaz played Ryan rakhoni last year or something he's a walk-on and he he did pretty decent in some game but he's a walk-on so like I said I'm not even gonna go that far to the walk-offs or whatever you know I'll have nothing against to walk on we have enough depth where we don't have to play your welcome but Avery Hub needs to get some love like for the life of him you know what I'm saying y'all just got him sitting wasting wasting wasting eligibility for what like use them if these linebackers missing tacos every week we can go you know what since y'all don't want to get right I'm gonna see what I'm gonna see what these guys get right I'm gonna see what these guys do quick give him fryerson on the field why is he not on the field you know what I'm saying it's a Corey couch hey don't want to come up and Tackle that's what give them fries in there for you know I don't have a problem this year with DJ ivy you know what I'm saying but I still feel like everybody should rotate nobody has should be solidified there you know I'm saying everybody should rotate so that with that being said yeah okay you don't wanna you guys don't wanna you guys don't want to waste Chris Graves juniors uh freshman year I understand a lot of red shirt okay we're gonna we're gonna keep them you know you're gonna just keep them keep his eligibility the reporter Jr needs to play more when Ivy is not is allowing too many catches we need to pay their reporter I think their reporter should start act could start that corner from the last game I saw he follows direction directions and he has good technique so I feel like he should play more maybe even start I think he should start or you can even start Isaiah Johnson why hasn't he played this year Isaiah Johnson deserves a playing time he's a big size corner he he he's physical he can come up and Tackle put him in the right position I'm fine with that I feel like on our defense I feel like three linebackers should be on the field at the same time I mean not three linebacker I feel like three safeties should be on the field at the same time I feel like cam kitchens and Avante Williams should start at the high safety and I feel like James Williams should come down in the alley or in a box sometimes but in an hour and they should be on the field predominantly of the time I also feel like on certain certain packages we take one of the outside linebackers out and we put in we put Tyrese throw Tyreek Stevenson in at in the alley we could play him in the alley we don't want if if Justin James have to come out we put Tyreke Stevens in there we can put Tyree Stevenson like we need to start playing top movies Tyree Stevenson more around moving him around he is not a corner Tyreke Stevenson is not a corner Tyreke Stevenson is a free safety strong safety he can play either or because he's a good tackler but he's not an outside corner he is not a cornerback he is not and then when he go when he goes to the NFL he's going to be a safety he's going to be a good safety too we need to use them in the inside and get him off the outside so that way we can play their reporter Junior Moore and Isaiah Dunson more I feel like our blade should rotate in with the three safeties that I named he should be one of the safety rotating in I feel like I want to see Keyshawn Washington he's a physical guy Brian Bellum is a nice safety too but I want to see Keyshawn Washington he's showing me more than Brian Bailey has shown me Brian Bailey must just get back from a neck injury I want to see Keyshawn Keyshawn Smith Washington Keyshawn Washington is a hitter he hits he he lays wood so I don't understand why he doesn't get some rips I don't care these guys need to be played so now I'm gonna go to try to go to uh okay yeah I'm gonna go to some highlights now this is what I mean by lay some of these dudes try them out it can't hurt us no more than we already two or three can't hurt us no more by getting some other players to ref just to see what they will do and then I shut up but if I don't see them at all I'm gonna continue to feel this way so with that being said these are some highlights I'm going to pull up some highlights of these players even though these these games are not real these are not real games these are this is just something to think about like and this is something that the coaching staff is doing like they're not rotating they're not using their depth to the fullest extent that they can it's like they capping it cavernous our numbers of players that's going to play down to a certain number and I feel like with our players and our team no nothing should be a it should be a cap on nothing if if these if this receiver is having a bad day and he's dropping balls pull them put the next man up next man up and then if I feel like these players what do we recruit these players and bring these players on we just gonna have them sit the bench I haven't I haven't heard anything from Jalen Harold this year I haven't heard anybody even mention him I've seen him on the sidelines he's a big safety Bitcoin big DP and we don't use him but right now these are just two plays I'm gonna show y'all on Keyshawn Washington and why I feel like he deserves to get some playing time just off of what he did in the spring this is a spring game and matter of fact matter of fact this is a spring game this is spring 2021. this is last year this is not even this spring 2022 because he didn't even get this much playing time in the spring age twins went to it 2022. this is 2021 Spring Game This Is Us getting ready for Alabama first game of the season last year this is with Manny's there but I'm just going to show you is just look at don't don't look at his athletic ability first of all look at his aggression and just visualize him making plays in in the game or not in our defense he can help our defense he might get in to make a couple little plays but that's why you rotate them in you put them in for a place let him make some plays put him in position to win coach so without further Ado I'm gonna start on some of these highlights okay so this is the spring game we got a four line four down alignment set with three linebackers as you can see 2021 another player that I mentioned who don't get playing time Avery Huff is right here getting some playing time this is Keyshawn Washington right here that is that is Cam kitchens okay so watch I just want y'all to pay attention I just want y'all to pay attention to the keyshawn's right um Keyshawn Washington right here I just want you to pay attention to these cup plays I can show it's going to be like two plays that I'm gonna show you but I'm just y'all gonna get what I'm what I'm saying and this is why he need to be put on the field because I haven't seen no other safety even James room ain't bringing it like this he ain't bringing no wood like this this dude laying the wood on people so with that being said I'm going to pay the tape we checking Keyshawn Washington right here [Music] okay it's one play and I got I got the plays queued up to where there's gonna be a play before they actually play that I'm I'm showing y'all so look they hurry up to the line Jay Garcia is in the game this is Jake Garcia's uh drive right we have four now alignment they're in the spread we gotta running back Avery Huff and Keyshawn Keyshawn Washington is back here at safety right here okay let me make it bigger too for y'all Keyshawn Washington is back here watch wait let's see uh this might not be the play either but no this is one of the plays this is one of the place let me move myself so I can see myself sorry about that all right let me let me play that back okay this is the play before again I'm just let it ride out now or whatever I had to put myself down here okay that's Keyshawn we're watching but we're watching the next play we're not watching this play okay so this is 2021 take now what I want y'all to pay attention to is how how this dude is finishing plays and how you're gonna how what I want on the team I want him I want that on the field so with this play We he's gonna basically he's over the top they rolled one of the safeties down he's over the top no we actually got two high safety on this on this coverage right here but he's safely to The Far Side so we're just gonna watch the play okay Garcia goes deep boom wood he got to go to the sidelines keyshawn's Keyshawn Keyshawn Washington is bringing wood remember how um Jamal Carter used to uh Amari Carter used to bring the wood he is another one of those type of players that spring in the wood he's gonna bring the wood and then he there he is at the house safety again he's going to bring the wood and players is going to be coming out the game now let me go to another play let's go to let's go to another play let's fast forward in the spring game this is another play that I'm talking about with Keyshawn Washington these are the plays that I want on the field right here check him out publishing he comes up right there fumble the dude is bringing the wood he deserves to get some playing time this ain't the real game this ain't a real simulation of the game but it's a spring game and he hitting our players like that I'ma say I'm gonna set him loose against ever the nation I'm I'm gonna turn him loose look at this look at this dude clothes he lay in the wood why wouldn't we want that on the field he got size athleticism and he had he he's mean with it I'll take a couple targeting plays from him because he gonna set the tone you're not gonna play with him you're not gonna you're not gonna do that you ain't gonna do it ain't that in the that's letting the offense know that he's probably gonna drop back he's not coming in some place there's a lot of plays I've seen he he's came but you taking all the power away from this this dude by standing him up so I need four consistent alignment hand in the dirt every play we got these two dudes over here standing up they lost their power they can't even get back to the quarterback but he is wasted on his plate and I don't know who's supposed to be teaching a cover too like cover two cover two this is why we we've been getting beat on cover too first of all I'm a DB I'm a defensive back for everybody that don't know I'm a defensive back world champion defensive back um we'll get into that another time but I'm gonna explain what happened on this play we we right now we we're running uh cover two but I don't like we we needed to we needed to send for for worships because he had he'd be having too much the quarterbacks be having too much time it shouldn't have as much time as they have Okay so James responsibility James responsibility is this back and well it's gonna be this bad so he's gonna be in this area right here the corner has Flats so whatever comes in the flat Tariq DJ ivy should be coming in the flats to get whatever's in the Flash now we're gonna run a cover too and and and and who do we have on the quarterback we we gonna have this guy's gonna end up being the spot but he's gonna end up being wasted so this guy has to take one of these you got to deal with we got to get we got to fix this just down here we gotta fix that we got to fix the assignment so that's all wrong right there that's not it's not this is just not good just make sure right here it's like it's confused but this big play that was given up first of all cam kitchens if we're running a cover two Avante Williams and Cam's kitchens well whoever is back there if we want everyone in the cover too you don't have to think about anything only thing you need to think about is getting back that's the only thing you got to worry about doing is getting back I don't care about you coming up and robbing none of this short yard and stuff get back that's all you need to think about back pedal your ass back don't be looking in the backfield or looking at the quarterback you're trying to read the quarterback get back your keys is this D this receiver and whatever is coming across your face that's coming in your Zone because it's covered too so y'all two need to be back that's first and foremost you shouldn't even be looking in the backfield like that you should be looking at this man and seeing if he hauling ass or not or whatever you shouldn't even be looking at the quarterback okay get back that's rule number one and rule number two is cornerbacks Tariq DJ Ivy up here cornerbacks at the snap of the ball it's okay when you run the cover too to sit off like right now he's sitting off probably like six six yards and he's on the inside of him whatever but the rule is if we're gonna run the cover two is you got to step up and meet him at the five yard if you had six or seven you need you need to come up if you're off covers you need to come up and you need to reroute these receivers to the inside meaning don't let the receiver release outside because if you let the receivers just get a free free release and release outside the outside perimeters is the weak point the outside perimeters in the middle of the field it's the weak points in the cover too so as Corners you have to you have to challenge these receivers in the cover two you're gonna sit off if you don't want to come up and press fine sit off off coverage head up and at the snap of the ball you're stepping up and you're challenging the receiver so you can all you need to know is no matter what if this receiver jumps outside and try to release outside I'm gonna I'm jamming his ass out of bounds and then once I push him out of bounds he's gonna be illegal he gonna be an illegal receiver so you should already be waiting on him to try to release outside I want you to wait oh sit on the outside don't die not literally sit on the outside I want you to be at your debt and you is I want you to be waiting so once you take a step outside I want you to get on his ass and jam them up tie him up because if you time up that throws off the timing of the whole play even if he even if he does end up getting outside you can push him out of bounds or it throws off the timing of the plate and the quarterback gonna go somewhere else with the ball when he see you you're you're kind of tied up he doesn't he shouldn't have the time to sit back there and wait for you to be tied up and throw the ball so I need my cornerbacks to reroute the receiver in the cover two that is a big key of helping the safety out because we want to try to push the receiver close to the numbers because the corner the safety is on the is out like the ball is on the left hash or whatever like that so the safety is outside the safety on this side cam kitchens is outside of the hash by the numbers so we want to get him as close to the numbers as possible we don't want him releasing to the outside because when he releases to the outside this one this is what happens and you don't get your hand on the receiver this is what happens that what happens Tyree Stevenson you need to get your hands on the receivers and reroute the receivers DJ Ivy you need to reroute the receivers and later on in this tape y'all gonna see they're reported when it when they pulled when they pulled Tyree Stevenson from this game Daryl Porter and DJ Ivy rant the the the the the the coverage perfectly and that was the that was the play where keandra Smith got his interception no Step Up put your hands on the pressure if y'all keep running these three three down linemen or y'all have one of these dudes set it up that takes away from their power from getting the quarterback and his first down First and Ten not the type of linebacker that really can run like that too be able to help it we got Wayman Steve on the field covering the slot receiver that's not good so right here we already beat for personnel already our Personnel is already that's why I said in this game and when we play against teams like this these two guys are not a fit for this scheme for today for just today they're not a scheme for D thirds in the middle you're deep middle no matter what I don't care about if this dude runs a drag route or if this dude runs a dig if this dude runs a dig that's not you I need you back and then I just need you to come up and make a tackle right there but like dude Tyrique Stevenson can't come can't cover no post no DB him or DJI can't cover posts once these receivers go up the field and they come inside the numbers it's on you to make that play and it's only one football so if you stay in the middle you're right there this play doesn't happen and this is a cover three but the only reason why this is even completed and both of the receivers is open on both sides of this receiver at the top right here where DJ Ivy was even had to step on him because cornerbacks can't cover posts only come on the cornerbacks that I've seen in history of football can come you can put on an island like that it's like Deion Sanders and Daryl green those are like the only two guys and last time I checked we don't have them guys on our team but I'm gonna play these are the big plays like this is a big play you see where Cam kitchens is right here he should he should have been back there to make quarterback and be aggressive in a sit back in coverage and let them complete the pass like they're gonna complete anyway so if you're going to have him playing off then you should have just had him cover the line the running back you've seen this dude got to like we're just keep them both back I don't know we got to work it out we got to work that out right here I don't know you just gave up too much time these two players right here was wasted just wasted wasted to Corey cash you got to keep your feet this is why sometimes I'll tell y'all we need to play Tyreke Stevenson and it's a lot for the situations like that right what's going on here just 300 he was holding them he just threw you offer man you got to keep your feet and on this play Tyree got to come up and you got to make a tackle but we had it like James Williams I don't know we just got lazy on that plate got lazy on that plate and you just let the man come inside like I mean we had a sack actually and and James you y'all you guys should always do that in the cover too you can't let this man release on the inside you can't let him get directly in the inside that's the weakness these these these safeties are you jumping on him stopping that Receiver right there that route's dead once you jump on that route and you jam him he's dead that play is over with for him and same on both sides but you got to get your hand on the receiver and reroute him that's the only way it works and then this dude kiatra is not gonna let him in the inside and he's gonna he's gonna ride him and spin around and turn around and make a play on a ball so watch the play right here boom he gets his hands on him push him to the inside even though he bends it back we got Avante over the top we got Avante over the top that is how you run a cover too and it seems like when we took Tyree Stevenson out that we ran ran it good and even look look at the deal so that means he he checked pump fake and he he Punk faked him first
