Sunny threw often down more in the zone to hit Sunny gray relies on Chase that's that's the main part of his game and you're right the twins hitters did a did a nice job of not giving him extra strikes making easy outs Julian flight out to left as a pinch hitter late last night I'm going to say that those are the pitches now Julian has gotten one lck got one walner didn't get a really great pitch to hit but Julian and L each got fast balls in the middle of the plate and with this kind of stuff and that he can get guys to chase you got to hit that fast ball when you when you see it the the left side your whole life I know I I know this personally because I did that what early in my career they asked me to go over and play second base after I played shortstop all my life and it's acquired at the deadline Rocko Bal Deli said simple sometimes there are tough decisions that have to be made he said he still feels like there's plenty of good baseball for Trevor Richards to pitch but of course last night the situation the long Innings from the bullpen just means that sometimes this late in the season you have to make those tough calls guys Audrey thanks yeah figured that you still just trying to be cautious he hasn't started throwing at all right now just doing a lot of lower body workouts doing some cardio so that he's still in shape if the opportunity presents himself to come back at any point but of course that 60-day move kind of spells that out for you guys but uh you know like I said got to give him credit he's being as positive as he can still trying to make an impact by being in the clubhous and in The Dugout and making contributions that way to support his team Audrey thanks and Joe ryot 60-day roster move is retroactive to when he was first put on the it's quickly 0 and two 94 mph cutter that's that's in different a different kind of category than most guys that say they have a cutter that 90 M hour is usually the top end for most Cutters he's thrown a few at 93 and 94 tonight it's a one of 95 so it's not a whole lot different that cutter not a whole lot different than a fast ball it's just a fast ball with a little with little tiny movement it does have some downward tilt when he's throwing it well so be another pitch that he as Corney mentioned earlier throws a lot of ground balls a cutter at 93 and 94 that has a little downward tilt to it it's going to get some ground balls for sure he's got as many as six different pitches he'll show the twins here tonight and Santana fights off the splitter and they've seen them all [Music] already so he throws it hard fast ball can get to 97 cutter gets to 94 then he'll throw a sinker trying to move it the other way and to left ERS it drops in curveball and and splitter for you're throwing it trying to throw it hard in the air and you can really Let It Go when you throw when you bounce it over there the throws are are consistently more accurate struck him out with a low here in his last eight starts this is some high quality stuff going up there this at the strike zone from five or six different pitches he's thrown the ball by hitters he's uh made him Chase Splitters and made him Chase one curve ball schwellenbach just a key part of what's been a strength for Atlanta now for quite some time but especially here in the month of August you know since August 11th alone Brave starters have allowed no more than three runs in each of the club's last 15 games got a chance to win some gains you're going to you're going to do throw that opposing hitters you wouldn't know it by the number that the Braves put up last night but this was an offense that and understandably so with the guys that they're missing right now that was scoring lately three four runs a game but yet able to the win because the pitching has been so good that's why I if you look at it from the brave standpoint to see Matt Olson hit two doubles in a home run driving five runs last night and come up the first time up and hit a double they got to be feeling pretty good about if he gets hot we're in good shape with this pitching and Castro Strikes Out sixth strike out out for schwell and Bach his career high and season ey is 11 it's a really interesting delivery he's got a short arm uh just an absolute explosion from his shoulder he he plays Short Stop in college as Cory mentioned he ball in like he wasn't ready for he's laid on that one so you have to be very careful about throwing him something soft in the low part of the strike zone to a left-and hitter fast ball away and Harris fouled it back late there this is where that change up will be so important for him as we were talking about earlier you're right that I think that's a pitch he'll he'll work on like crazy this times through and all their pitches and for for Woods Richardson he's he's been able to do that he's been able to throw good quality pitches third time through and a lot of a lot of young pitchers can't can't do that that's what they have to learn to learn to do is maintain their control in the strike zone through three three times through Jared Kellick in to run for Jorge Solair and now Marcel a foot which is what you'd expect from a guy that's competing for the Triple Crown right I mean there aren't too many pitches getting him out he could win the Triple Crown but he's I think going to here in game one because bayy oer has been as good as any starter right now on the game and he's been certainly consistent for the twins terribly consistent because he's got four high quality Big League pitches and he's consistently throwing them in perfect spots hitters know that he can beat them upstairs with a fast ball he can also beat them inside so with that on their mind here come the secondary pitches slider and cover cutter to the glove side and a great change up to arm side that's a great weapon against left-handed hitters he's just cons been so consistantly good 11 quality starts uh in a row we got uh another piece of potentially good news a good scenario coming for the games two and three young pitchers on the mount for the twins right-handers Simon Woods Richardson and David Festa and guess what the Atlanta Braves are really good a heavy right headed lineup of the Braves really good against left-handers not so much against right-handed starters sub 500 so the twins have their a an ace going tonight and a couple more right-handers going to finish the series should be a lot of fun two playoff teams at the season ended today meeting tonight here at Target was pretty much dhing but with Marcel Ozuna on Deck he's the DH with his Braves team meaning Solair has to play right field one ball one strike so lir 18 games with Atlanta four home runs at 12 and 93
