METEOROLOGIST LEE GOLDBERG. >> THIS IS WAKE UP WEATHER ON ABC SEVEN AND WHY NOT A BAD FORECAST OVER THE WEEKEND. IT'S CERTAINLY A LITTLE UNSETTLED ON YOUR SATURDAY, BUT NOT A WASHOUT AND WE WILL FINISH THE WEEKEND ON A REFRESHING NOTE IN EVEN A LATE SEPTEMBER EARLY OCTOBER FIELD. BUT THAT DOESN'T STAY AROUND TOO LONG AND THE WARM UP IS PRETTY RAPID AS WE GO THROUGH NEXT WEEK. SO ON YOUR SATURDAY, THERE WILL BE AFTERNOON SHOWERS FOR MOST INTO THE EARLY EVENING, BUT THEY'LL ALSO BE A COUPLE OF MORNING SHOWERS FOR PARTS OF THE AREA AND A LITTLE DRIZZLE TOO IN THE MIDDLE LATE MORNING MIDDAY. THERE MIGHT BE SOME FEW BREAKS IN THE CLOUDS, SO YOU KNOW I WOULDN'T CANCEL THE OUTDOOR PLANS EVEN IF IT LOOKS A LITTLE GLOOMY TO YOUR EARLY ON AND IT'S DAMP IN A COUPLE OF SPOTS, WE WON'T SEE THE MOST WIDESPREAD SHOWERS TILL MID AFTERNOON. IT IS A FALL FEEL BEHIND THIS COLD FRONT COMING IN. IT'S A COOL BREEZE ON SUNDAY. SOME GUSTS TO 20, MAYBE 25 MILES AN HOUR. SO EVEN IF WE REACH 70 ON THE THERMOMETER, IT WILL FEEL LIKE 60S IN MANY AREAS. WILL NOT GET OUT OF THE 60S. ON SUNDAY, THE EXTENDED FORECAST ANOTHER GREAT STRETCH THROUGH ALMOST THE ENTIRE WORKWEEK. NEXT WEEK, AND THERE ARE EVEN SIGNS NOW THAT COULD EXTEND INTO NEXT WEEKEND. PRETTY INCREDIBLE. SO IN TERMS OF THE FUTURECAST, NOTICE AGAIN A LITTLE GLOOMY ON SATURDAY MORNING. LOTS OF CLOUDS, MAYBE A SPRINKLE OR A TOUCH OF DRIZZLE AROUND. BUT AS THE WINDS BEGIN TO SHIFT MORE OUT OF THE SOUTH SOUTHWEST, YOU'LL START TO SEE SOME BREAKS IN THE CLOUDS. AND THAT MAY NOT HAPPEN OVER PARTS OF CONNECTICUT. LONG ISLAND FOR A WHILE. BUT I DO THINK FROM THE CITY WESTWARD HUDSON VALLEY, WE SEE SOME BREAKS IN THE CLOUDS. BUT RIGHT THEN THE SHOWERS START TO DEVELOP DURING THE EARLY AFTERNOON HOURS AS THINGS START TO HEAT UP. SO I THINK BY 2 OR 3:00 IN THE AFTERNOON WE COULD HAVE SHOWERS AND ISOLATED THUNDER SHOWER COMING THROUGH. PROBABLY NOTHING SEVERE, BUT COULD THEY BE A BRIEF DOWNPOUR? IT'S NOT OUT OF THE QUESTION. THAT THREAT WILL LAST THROUGH THE VERY EARLY EVENING HOURS, AND DRYING WINDS ARE ALREADY COMING IN BY EVENING, SO I THINK THE SHOWER THREAT COULD GO THROUGH. MAYBE 8 OR 9:00. AND THEN WE'RE DONE AND SKIES ACTUALLY CLEAR OUT PRETTY QUICKLY. SO BY SUNDAY MORNING IT'S A TOTALLY DIFFERENT FEEL. NUMBER ONE, WE'RE IN THE 50S, LOTS OF 40S OFF TO THE NORTH AND WEST. AND THERE'S A COOL BREEZE OUT THERE. SO YOU'LL NEED A JACKET. DEFINITELY A REALITY CHECK. AFTERNOON HOURS. MOST THERMOMETERS WILL READ TEMPERATURES IN THE 60S, MAYBE A COUPLE OF 70 DEGREE READINGS. BUT WITH THAT BREEZE COMING OUT OF THE NORTHWEST, IT WILL DEFINITELY FEEL LIKE 60S. SPEAKING OF 60S, IT'S KIND OF MUGGY AND 60S. ON YOUR SATURDAY MORNING AT SEVEN IN THE MORNING, CLOUDY, MUGGY AND A SPRINKLE OR A TOUCH OF DRIZZLE AROUND AFTER THE MORNING SHOWERS. THE SUN TRIES TO PEEK THROUGH DURING THE MIDDAY, BUT THEN SHOWERS AND STORMS START TO FIRE UP IN THE AFTERNOON HOURS. I SAY STORMS, BUT WE'RE NOT TALKING ABOUT WIDESPREAD THUNDERSTORMS. MIGHT JUST BE AN ISOLATED DOWNPOUR THAT COMES THROUGH. AND THEN THOSE WINDS SHIFT OFF TO THE WEST AND TEMPERATURES START TO DROP. AND SO DOES THE HUMIDITY. 73 TOMORROW, MOSTLY CLOUDY AND BREEZY. BEST CHANCE OF SEEING ANY BREAKS IN THE CLOUDS WILL BE MIDDAY AND THEN AN AFTERNOON SHOWER. EVEN THUNDERSHOWER ROLLS THROUGH THAT WOULD LAST THROUGH THE EARLY EVENING HOURS. AIR QUALITY IS GOOD. UV INDEX AT A FOUR BOATERS BEWARE JUST BECAUSE WE HAD THAT OFFSHORE LOW. STILL STIRRING UP THE OCEAN WATER. SO 3 TO 5 FOOT WAVES IN THE RIP CURRENT RISK IS ON THE HIGH SIDE. 54 TOMORROW NIGHT OUR RECORD LOWS 52 ALL THE WAY BACK FROM 18 TO 71. MEAN THAT'S NOT TOO LONG AFTER RECORD STARTED BEING KEPT IN CENTRAL PARK. I HAVEN'T USED THAT DESCRIPTION QUITE A WHILE. BRISK AND MUCH COOLER AFTER THE EARLY SHOWER WE WILL CLEAR SO AFTER THAT CHILLY MORNING IT'S A NICE AFTERNOON ON SUNDAY. REFRESHING AND WAITING 71. FEELING LIKE 60S MONDAY AFTER A CHILLY MORNING IN THE 40S AND 50S, WILL WARM UP IN THE UPPER 70S DURING THE AFTERNOON HOURS. LOW HUMIDITY, THEN THE NIGHTS START GETTING MILDER AND THE AFTERNOONS GET BACK INTO THE 80S. WE ARE WARM AND DRY ALL THE WAY THROUGH. NEXT WEEKEND WE'RE IN THE LOW 80S IN NEW YORK CITY. WE COULD BE MID, MAYBE EVEN UPPER 80S IN THE INTERIOR BECAUSE OUR WINDS WILL BE ONSHORE OFF THE WATER. SO INLAND AREAS COULD DO MUCH BETTER. AND I THINK THE SUNNY STRETCH COULD EVEN EXTEND INTO NEXT WEEKEND.
