Brady Singer begins his bounce back season. He had some trouble with Minnesota last year. He really had a lot of trouble in the division. It all begins with the team that won the division. Brady made 29 starts last year and it feels like hud we spent the whole season talking about how he was playing catch up after having a short spring training with team USA and we are ready to go with Edward julian and Brady's first pitch is pulled on the ground to Salvi's a good start. Two seam fastball results in a ground ball and out. Number one will bat and Kirillov is out on a pitched violation with two strikes. He is called out by home plate umpire, Mike brooks, check it out. Look at the clock, folks got to be in that box looking at the pitcher by what, nine seconds, eight seconds, something like that. Anyway, Klo, you got to go Byron Ding today, Buxton hits it on the ground to third. That's a good inning for Brady Singer. Six pitches, all strikes and the twins go down in order furniture starting pitcher stats, it will be Bailey over his numbers from last year. Very good strikeout rate doesn't walk many pitches to contact. He's a fly ball pitcher. Bobby. Witt Jr Bobby gets right on top of that one and 110 miles an hour later, he's on with a one out single from the left side. Bobby started to go and stopped and that is going to be down for a base hitMart-n. Mart-n. The rookie did a good job of making it look like he had a chance to catch it and that held Bobby to just 90 ft. Here's Perez looking for his first hit not running and Salvi hits it in the air to left field , it will carry back goes Caroline on for a three run home run. You mentioned the 3 to 4 hitters with no production in the first couple of games. There's time right here and three and four hitters getting the job done. Beautiful stroke by the captain carlos Car. Let's see if he can spark his second inning. Serge here with a slider away, 15 pitches, 12 strikes so far and Walner is down on strikes and that's three for Brady and with two outs, Minnesota puts two on just like that. Now, the twins have the tying run coming up and Jeffers grounds it up, the middle junior is there and the inning is over. So Brady survives a scare in the second inning and the Royals lead 3 to 0. Kyle Isbell off here in the bottom of the second inning, Isbell hits it well to right field and that will be gone. Didn't sound like a home run, but when it left that bat, I can tell the trajectory, even the Crosslin couldn't hold it in. He timed the changeup just perfectly top of the order, Michael garcia and now Garcia pounds one into left center field and the Royals have hit three home runs in the first two innings. You mentioned momentum and that's exactly what happens in this sport as well as the other ones using your hands close to your chest. Leaves the barrel on the ball beautiful swing. He knew it. Bobby Bobby Jr deep right center field and Mart-n won't get it. He slams into the wall and that is an easy triple. Well, with that crosswind when you hit the ball in the right center field, gap pretty strong , crosswind blowing from the right field foul ball to the left that's going to hold it in. It certainly did Mart-n with a great effort. There, Ober is going to like the effort. Fortunately, he's ok who has a three run blast in the fourth and Salvi is going to get it into center field for his fourth RB I of the day. And the Royals open with a pair of three run innings short swing. I'll find a hole. That's all you need. Lefty matchup sinker strike and Adam Fraser into left field, a solid hit for Frazier. That's going to score two. The Royals have just absolutely run away and hidden from the Twins. It is eight to nothing runners 1st and 2nd. Still only one out Santana and he tags out Frazier or did he miss him? The out is recorded on the tag but after the air another run scores, they'll take him any way they can get him good job by Velazquez being heads up and scoring on the ball that was dropped at first base brings up AJ R who is 2 to 2 with a single and a triple. Today. Fastball hits high in the air deep straight away. Center Mart-n races back at the track at the junior's first home run of the season. The Royals barrage continues. It's 10 in the bottom of the 3rd 434 ft, 100 and nine miles an hour off the bat. Buxton is going to lead it off here in the top half of the fourth inning. Three pitches and down goes Buxton and Brady Singer is cruising along pitching with an enormous lead to matt Walner. Now, now he's got to go no doubt about that 18 pitches for Brady singer and the Royals lead big and Carlos Santana teammate of Brady's and the next one and a swing and a miss. And that was the slider and that's a strikeout that's number six on the day there, a swing and a miss a slider and that is strikeout number seven on the day. Back to back strikeouts had a rough spring strike three called , make it eight strikeouts for Brady Singer at him reaching and that will hang up there for Izel. And that's the inning has six scoreless innings for Brady Singer giving up just two hits. That brings up Nelson Velazquez. That is home run number five for the Royals today. Number one for Nelson Velazquez who hit 14 for the Royals last year in 39 games. Amazing, nice to see runners on 1st and 2nd. Nobody out. Willie Castro is the batter. Brady gets a strikeout his ninth. The two to two strike three fastball above the zone. Jeffers chased it. Brady Singer has struck out 10 or two outs in the top of the seventh. Brady and just the way they practiced it in spring training , seven scoreless innings for Brady Singer in his season debut and he gets a big ovation as he heads to the dugout. But first he's going to go to his catcher Freddie Fin. They work great together pitching with a huge lead 11 Royals. So here's matt sour out of Santa Maria, California making his major league debut. Sour's next delivery is hoisted into left field toward the corner but Blanco has a bead and makes the play. Frazier makes a nice play to get two up, two down for sour in his big league and he gets a glove on. It takes his time and underhand to first and his first big league inning is a scoreless inning. Matt Sour is a big leaguer Jordan Lyles pitches out of the bullpen 1 to 2 pitch swung out and string changeup Santana skies it to right field and Velazquez will make the play on the track runner at first two down. Ninth inning. The runner goes on a swing and a miss down for the Twins and the Royals have victory number one. The Royals did it all today. Congratulations, fellas on your first win of the season. I'm sure we're going to see a ton more. Now, let's hope so.
