from round two seven more Ties on the way for you tonight including our Focus game our commentary game of notingham forest taking on Newcastle and that all Premier League tie six games currently underway 745 kickoffs amongst them five of the six earlier kickoffs from 7:45 and wolves Burnley kicked off at 7:30 uh this evening so that one will end earlier than the rest all of those ties to be decided tonight uh following uh the conclusion of the fulltime whistle between Nan forest and Newcastle we will have the third round draw for you this evening which has a few stipulations which we will get into into in just a moment that we can tell you about because there's been a pre-draw uh we'll get into the full details of it uh in just a moment to confirm who's playing in tonight wolves uh take on Burnley as I said that's a 7:30 kickoff there into the 17th minute of that game still no goals between those two sides uh and then the game's just underway at 7:45 FC Wimbledon take on ipswitch at Southampton head to Cardiff Colchester welcome brenford swan tick on Wickam and an in all Premier League's tie West Ham tick on bornemouth so a good mix of Premier League sides in there eight to be exact uh six of our seven ties this evening include a premier league side and the only one that doesn't as Swansea Wickham all the rest have Premier League involvement and so far so good for the Premier League sides all five uh of our Premier League sides yesterday uh went through pretty comfortably uh in the end in all those fixtures and I'm sure uh those clubs will be hoping for the same tonight of course the third round uh brings with it uh extra excitement as well and we'll talk about the draw uh in a second uh this evening we also have Champions League playoff games there are a few still to be decided di uh di Zagreb uh beat carag earlier this evening they were already three nil up on a going into that one they won 2-nil on the night so denimo Zagreb are into the Champions League the other three games uh going on tonight red star belr or Cina SDA as they're known against B glimps at slavia Prague against Lil and slovan Bratislava taking on meland uh in those bimp leading 2-1 and aggregate against red star at Lil two- nil up against slavia Prague uh and it is a 1-1 between slov and Bratislava and meland and those uh teams fighting for a place in tomorrow's at Champions League draw the new draw of course the new format of the champions league and that's live tomorrow at 5: on lfs to the draw that concerns us tonight then the third round draw so we'll talk you through the ball numbers of course 32 teams uh for 16 ties uh in the third round uh but let's first uh bring you up to date with what the draw rules are going to be because it's quite complicated uh for this third round usually carab Cup draws are pretty simple uh but tonight uh not to be the case well uh the third round draw rules are as follows so to ensure there's no Clash of fixture dates conditions will be implemented during the third round draw to ensure a club participating in the Champions League does not draw a club participating in the Europa League uh because of those competitions due to date clashes uh the competi the caraba cup is to take place in the same midweek that either a Champions League or Europa League game is to be played those first rounds who to make sure that neither of those two clubs at two clubs competing in those competitions meet each other these conditions have been put in place so the draw consists as I said 32 clubs 25 winners from the round two ties and seven Premier League clubs uh in UEFA competitions those seven clubs uh are of course Chelsea are one then last season's top four Manchester City uh Arsenal Liverpool Aston Villa Manchester United and uh Newcastle uh not Newcastle I apologize I've completely forgotten nonetheless we'll take anyway uh seven uh Premier League clubs in UF competition that is as normal uh in the third round 25 winners from round two and the Seven remaining Premier League clubs enter at this stage uh there will be two bowls uh for the draw Bowl number one will consist of the six UEFA Champions League and youa Europa League clubs that is not including at Chelsea they are in conference League uh football but they are not in this due to the fact the conference League doesn't start till October so there's no issues with dates there in Bowl two will be the consisting of the remaining 26 clubs so the 25 winners from round two plus Chelsea who will enter in this round and the six other clubs that are involved in Champions League or europ Europa League uh will be in Bow number one a pre-draw has been done already we'll get you the results of that pre-draw in a moment uh have decide to decide Home and Away positioning for clubs in Bowl one for the first six ties of the draw the first six ties will be drawn by alternating between one club from Bowl one and one Club from Bowl two so to make sure there is pure kind of Simplicity with it a club from Bowl one already decided whether it'll be home or away so they will come out first and their Position will already been predetermined and they will be picked out against one of the 26 clubs from Bowl two the 10 remaining ties after the first six will be drawn from Bowl two only cuz that will be where the rest of the clubs are if that makes any sense to you uh it took a long while for me to get uh my head around it uh let's have a look then at that pie draw so this is the way it will work these are the uh the kind of positioning uh for the first six ties so the first two balls that will be picked out the first ball will be picked out of Bowl one which will be a Champions League or Europa League team they will be picked out and they will be at home for the first tie followed by in Bowl two a team from Bowl two the 26 clubs not involved in you for competition at Champions League or Europa League that will continue in that positional uh all the way through those ties to the first four balls out from ball one those Champions League or Europa League teams will be home and then the next two they will be away that is the condition for that there are no other conditions uh for the rest of the draw the other 10 ties after the first six ties will be done as normal the first ball comes out will be at home the second ball comes out will be away from home that is at the usual status it's very complicated it'll be more simple when we get to that point of the evening uh in the draw but we have to stipulate that before kickoff tonight uh and those are the ball numbers we'll go through them a bit later on of course 26 to 32 are all ties to be decided tonight so we will of course update those when that comes around uh key figures Arsenal are ball number one they're in Champions League Aston Villa ball number two at holders Liverpool are number 16 this evening they're also in European competition um as well uh City and United are 17 and 18 uh of course Tottenham are the other Europeans side I couldn't remember them earlier on they're ball number 23 uh as well so there we go fascinating very complicated for no apparent reason uh this evening it's the joys uh of uh craziness of the carabay cup of times we have our first goal of the night uh to tell you about uh because we haven't even got away at Cardiff City matz Fernandez opening the scoring there for the Saints and that is their uh first goal that they have scored this season uh they have failed to score in their two Premier League one ball in behind for Alexander esack takes the strike low and hard at Carlos Miguel and a lovely Ball by Miguel almeron and then isach just unleashes that rocket of a strike with his right foot too much for the keeper to hold on to just parries it into the danger zone and Joe Willock there just to tap it in fabulous start for Newcastle Dreadful start for the home uh for the home side find themselves one nil down in a matter of seconds wow we always give us excitement don't they always n n Forest want to respond quickly at one's going in behind but that was well ushered back to Nick Pope by the Newcastle defense something n and Forest defense should have done for their for their goalkeeper not to be but 18 seconds is the official time for the goal and I'm sure sure we'll get some sort of records that we'll hear about throughout the evening as again nothing for us find a nice break down the right here here's a one it's blocked again picked up again by Mo morera well closed out white Carlos Miguel thrown right into the deep end early on here for Nottingham Forest a 25-year-old Brazilian joined the club for three and a half million pounds from Corinthians this summer he making his first Nottingham Forest appearance tonight his debut for the club and what a way to make your debut in such dramatic fashion early on as isach won a free kick here for Nottingham Forest and a bricking of the deadlock and wolves who lost by six goals to two at the weekend against Chelsea well they're looking to redeem themselves in the Cup tonight and they have taken an early lead Gonzalo had one or two opport opportunities themselves up front to try and get that level out J Silva's certainly one of the best there for a moment here's Dominguez Anderson going to switch it out to the right hand side lovely ball taken down by morera flick back on by Silva and morera challenge there referee says no penalty and it will just be a corner to Nottingham Forest and the man who scored for for uh for Newcastle has just gone down here after that challenge so we'll just see this again the Silva morrera yeah I think when Joe wck makes the challenge Mor comes down on him and I think on top of him might have injured Joe Willock there so sure he'll get a bit of treatment for the moment but just seeing j Silva's chance again lovely ball off the left hand side and Silva popped up with a driving in field feeds it out to the uh to the right winger for Newcastle and the strike straight down the throat of M caros Miguel who has to Parry it behind for the corner such Pace on it left for a delivery from the corner back post Joe Linton couldn't to keep it D and the keeper Miguel comes together well one interesting point about Carlos Miguel um there is a man at 6'6 on the field tonight Scott Parker's team by a goal to nil Gary O'Neil the Wolves head coach and wolves looking to get their first domestic win of the season season after they have lost their first two Premier League games and they lead 1- nil at the break Burnley who suffered their first defeat of the Season at the weekends away to Sunderland as Newcastle won a free kick there took it quickly as gimash was pulled here's Elmer on Night tonali Le Hall to Harvey Barnes going to drive in fail Barnes he's got space in the middle lays it off to tonali who's a feed it through the lines but just a bit too ahead of mik almeron that time and goalkeeper for Forest could just gather that one comfortably Forest try and come up the left hand side and to be honest the game is quite even at the moment Hingham Forest have reacted well here's morera on the right hand side looking to chip it to the back post no one there although has found its way out to the Left Flank recovered this time right there and I it was Ramon S I think it might might have gone for a corner off Miguel alaron it has indeed good cross from the back post it looked like for a moment there Mora's cross was just a bit too much on it it did find its way out to Ramon Sosa on the left hand side and Sosa just knocked it off Miguel Amon to give Forest the corner on the left hand side Willie Bly iron this one up another man with a lot of height right high and wide there from Joe Linton just looks like every time Forest are up the field Newcastle can thread a nice ball in behind it looks like Forest are committing Too Many Bodies forward they've got a back three but it looks like whenever they press forward and push forward there's always a gap either the left or the right hand side of the back three where there's a ging hole in the forest defense and Newcastle is really exploding it and it took them 18 seconds to find the to exploit it and to get a benefit out of it and they're continuing to find those little gaps well they're not little gaps they're ging holes But continuing to thread those balls into those areas and causing Nottingham Forest to threat big problems as I was saying I think Forest have responded well to going behind they've actually had more shots in the game albeit newcastle's four shots are all on target uh Forest have had five shots just the one on target so far in these early moments and Newcastle have up until the last 5 minutes been dominating The Possession it's just let even out a bit more 57% for for Newcastle to Forest 43 uh when it was over 60% for quite a while so far so for starting to grow uh just before halftime uh level things for Wimbledon and that is still the score line as they get the second half underway there uh between COV and Southampton I've just heard an update it was two uh one to Southampton no more uh their lead because it is back two terms it is 22 uh between COV and sampton a real feisty battle there uh in uh the Welsh Capital uh where Ronnie Edwards has just put into his own net uh to give a card of another equalizer uh in that one they actually find themselves behind uh uh early on uh Cardiff Matas Fernandez give Southampton the lead Ruben cwell then leveled for 1-1 Samuel AMU Amo retook the lead for Southampton before uh the first goal of the second half uh sees Ronnie Edwards the Southampton uh player knock into his own net it is Cardiff 2 Southampton 2 and I've just seen the goal and it is a horror show uh from a Southampton point of view across from the right hand side and the goalkeeper Palms it right into the defender's legs and it goes right into the back of the net there's nothing the defender can do it is a horror show from a sampton point of view and that's not to say about their kits their kit is absolutely awful uh it's some sort of luminous pink it is Dreadful to look at uh it's card of two Southampton 2 uh El swear for another one of those Premier League sides uh on the road this evening a bit more comfortable uh albeit not comfortable but they are ahead for brenford leading Colchester by a goal to nil Kean Lewis Potter with a goal just before halftime give Thomas Frank side the lead that triggered three changes at halftime for Colchester who must feel that they can get something if it's that close after uh the second half but uh surely brenford with the chances that they've had should be further ahead but it is still only at one nil speaking of 1- nil it is 1-nil also uh between Swansea and Wickham at the league at one side leading at the moment against the championship side Richard K's goal in the first half has Wick and Wanderers ahead in that one and in the other tie this evening in the all Premier League ties uh it is West Ham nil Bournemouth nil there were halftime substitutions one at a piece uh for those two at the brick uh at the London Stadium so far uh it hasn't made a big change but there are still another half to go remember at the moment there are three of our games that are level if any of the games tonight are level after 90 minutes there will be no extra time it will go straight to penalties to decide a winner that includes our game as well which there is still a very realistic chance that it could actually end level because it has been ning and Forest who have probably been pushing for an equalizer the whole of this first half but I think Newcastle I I don't into harsh in saying they've got away with one but they probably have with the way that they've played I mean it's a similar diagnosis from the previous two games in the Premier League where they've started the better of the two sides in their games but have crumbled away fell away as the halfes went on and it's the exact opposite for Forest they've started the worst of the two sides they started as worse as you poorly can start conceding in the first minute after just 18 seconds finding yourself behind but they grew into that first half forest and actually I'd say they're probably the the better side because ultimately they were more consistent in their football I think new were a bit lost in that first half Forest were keeping the ball getting it wide trying to find players down the wide areas they weren't going through the middle they were trying to find balls down the flanks with the likes of their wing backs and morera and Moreno on opposite sides and then they're kind of forwards and J Silva or Raman Sosa coming wide and and offering that width further up the field for them uh and that's where their identity has been in that first half but for a Newcastle point of view it's kind of been a bit lost at times they've been knocking the ball long and hoping for someone to bring it down I think tali's played well in that first half and the fact that it is his first game in 10 months uh for Newcastle uh he's played well jul linton's been a lot better than what he was at the weekend I mean it's hard to be worse um to be honest um but I think they've been a bit lost in that first half as it went on Newcastle they really in the early moments I I mentioned they were finding those gaps in behind the forest Defenders CU when their wing backs were coming forward for us they committed So Many Bodies forward and pushing so high up the field that all it took was one ball forward from Newcastle and they were in behind with the likes of a harvey Barnes or Amiga almeron etc etc and Jo willick that's where his goal comes from runners in Beyond in behind the defense and at one ball by Migel amaron finds will and they continue to find a those those passes those kind of moments a couple of times in that first half but as Forest got the grips with it and took more control of the game and Newcastle sat a bit deeper and a bit deeper and even deeper as the half went on they struggle to really find that out ball to really get them up the field and it's not a coincidence that nning and Forest probably dominated the final 20 minutes of the half because Newcastle have been that deep they've really struggled to get out of their own half uh in on a consistent basis and uh I that's why I would say the homid are probably feeling a bit hard done by I feel unlucky that they are behind at halftime because they've certainly had the opportunities H and the enough of the ball and enough of the attacking play to be in this game and and and to be at least level they've had more shots than Newcastle nning and Forest in that first half albeit their finishing has been lacking eight shots just one on target uh not Newcastle uh in contrast six shots four On Target so that's something I'm sure Nuno will want to to try and figure out at halftime for Nan Forest there's a way of trying to get them to be more accurate with their chances uh because they're squandering and what could be big opportunities to take advantage of what seems to be a pretty below par Newcastle I don't know what the problem is um it's now three games or two and a half games where Newcastle have been good for 10 10 minutes 20 minutes but have fallen away and and kind of Fallen at a kind of business in the game and it's going to come a point where if they keep going in their similar Trend they are going to lose um you're not going to keep winning by starting well and falling away in games because teams will find a way past you teams will find a way through um and Bournemouth took the lead against them at the weekend they got back into the game and and they did really well but again as the game as they got their leveler they fell away again Newcastle it seems like when they score when they get a good chance of the wi they're ahead when they've got kind of got up in the game and just scored they kind of lose that Tempo that momentum in the game and they just can't keep it going they can't keep it going to another level um and that's something I'm sure Eddie high will want to fix and the likes of uh Eddie HED and amongst them will want to fix at half time so a narrow lead at for visiting Newcastle and night at this uh G the game I have to say it the game the card of City Stadium is turning into an absolute Thriller at the moment H Cardiff and sampton endtoend football uh each team scoring after another sampton went up Cardiff leveled sampton went ahead again Cardiff leveled again sampton are ahead once again for the third time tonight sampton have taken the lead H at the end jordis Silva's equalizer was to be the last goal of the game after just 50 minutes and penalties are going to be needed to decide a winner here at the city grind final score after 9 it's Nottingham Forest one Newcastle one right ready to go then looking forward to penalties and they're agonizingly writing down the names quickly see who's going to be taking those penalties just saying the winner for Wimbleton against I switch incredible moment that is for Wimbledon not seen many penalties shootouts so far in this tournament so far are in the competition and we will see a shootout here tonight we've already seen a premier league side upseted and knocked out through penalties of course one of these two teams will be knocked out uh on both Premier League sides of course uh wolves another Premier League side going through this evening burn they beat Championship Burnley sampton eventually came up uh and won against Cardiff City of the championship it was 33 going into out of time but two out of time goals from sampton secured the 5-3 victory brenford one nil winners wet Colchester Wickham one- nil winners wet Swansea and West Ham winning one- nil at home against bornemouth right so those are the results from the rest of the games tonight we'll run you through all of the results from the second round including last night's 18 ties uh that we witnessed and we will bring you through all of those uh results a bit later on after we get the final result from this one plus we will have a look ahead to the third round draw which is coming up well it was originally scheduled for 10:15 um but of course with these penalties it might go on a bit later but of course we will uh bring you to a close here tonight uh uh and we will get the third round draw live because it is a unique draw uh and we certainly want to watch it as the penalties will be taken at the forest end so at the end with all the forest fans to the left hand side of the camera angle and I think the forest want to take first they think they won both um toss is there Willie baly was there along with at the Newcastle cap uh so Forest sorting out their penalty tickers Newcastle as well taking out theirs this shoot out to decide a winner here tonight between these two premier league sides waiting place in the third round is a waiting one of these two Forest will have all of their fans behind the goal that the penalties will be taken at of course at the other end it would have been a mix of the two cuz the away fans were at the other end but Newcastle fans will have to wait with bit of breath to see their side at the other ends and I think Forest are ticking first cuz it looked like they won the throw and they opted to take first so we will see and they're ready to he he he told the referee to wait before he came over to to join at Nick Pope his opposing keeper and I think he might have a special water bottle that'll tell him which way to dive I'm guessing and because he's got it covered up with a tile uh the referee having a chat with both goalkeepers Nick Pope and Carlos Migel and the assistant that will be uh there closely watching the penalties uh of course there is no V I would suggest there's go line technology uh on this so there should be no worries about penalties and going in and all of that stuff um as the referee just having a chat with both as they walk towards the penalty area and I we see that similar idea of both teams lined up on the halfway line and it is the first up will be Callum Hudson adoi The Substitute tonight for Nottingham Forest will be the first to take a penalty this evening so Forest going first and Callum Hudson adoi will be taking first for Forest well it's been 18 years since Forest lost a penalty shootout he do want to keep that record going and Hudson adoi steps up first against Nick Pope Hudson adoi right footed and a lovely penalty put the height behind it the keeper guessed the right way in the far right corner but the height behind it took a pass neck Pope and Callum Hudson adoi gets the first penalty and scores the first penalty of the shootout and the man of as opposite number new Castle's number 14 Alexander esack is going to be taking newcastle's first penalty so this is the time for 6'8 Carlos Miguel the Tran use that extra few inches of height that he has to cover as much of the goal as possible and stop Alexander esack who with the Precision of his finishes isack could even beat a 7 foot goalkeeper let's see ISAC stepping up for Newcastle to level it in the shootout he does right up the middle the keeper Dives and isack goes right up the middle to level in the shootout 1-1 looked completely absent of any nerves there uh next up H for for is milenovic came on in the second half Nicola milenovic a 26-year-old Serbian join forest from Fiorentina in the summer and I wants to make his name known at Forest up to take the second penalty for the home side nail biing moments for those home fans milenovic against Nick Pope milankovic scores rolls it into the bottom right corner Nick poop dived early and milinkovic slaughtered it into the bottom right corner and Forest are back in front 2-1 next up Joe Linton for Newcastle well they had certainly had game to forget at the weekends in the Premier League against Bournemouth he had his first shares of tussles with a goalkeeper at the weekend as well now he's a chance to get Newcastle back level in the shootout once again Miguel against jul Linton taking his time right footed and it's saved by Carlos Miguel jenton tried to delay ticking the penalty but he only got in his own head and he has his penalty saved by Carlos Miguel right footed penalty trying to go down the left hand side the keeper dived and used all of that height that he has and that reach to Palm it away and he's jering up the CED now is Carlos Miguel after that penalty save and jul Linton has his penalty save the first to miss in the shootout next up Nico Williams to give Forest a bit of daylight in the shootout to make it three from three Nico Williams does score another beautiful penalty another similar to Callum Hudson ATO penalty not much pace and power behind it but the height took it well past Nick Pope and now Bruno gamer Rayes has to do a bit of a rescue job night for Newcastle Miguel's reading that water bottle Forest lead in the shootout again sangari oh hits the crossbar too much height behind it on that one and Forest Miss which reignites The Hope in the Newcastle fans it just didn't really look con with didn't walk up with much conviction did he Abrahim SAR and he just rifled it off the crossbar I mean Nick poop died right out of the way if he had just rolled it it would have went in but tried to catch out Nick Pope and ended up hitting the crossbar and Miguel has to do some magic once again for Forest if it's to keep them ahead Anthony Gordon stares longingly at the ball before he sets it Newcastle he has sent them through to the third round shotes are never simple and I'm never done and dusted simply either but tonight we've seen another dramatic penalty shootout that sees Nottingham Forest out and Newcastle going through for the first time in their history Forest have now lost four straight League Cup games final score after penalties 1-1 after 90 minutes Newcastle win four 43 in draw which is coming up very very shortly here on lfs we're going to run you through each and every result it's been a dramatic night and it's been a dramatic last 408 24 4 to 48 Hours here uh as the second round has concluded last night then we start all the way from the start once more as middlesbor who knocked out leads in the first round 3-0 winners at Ellen Road remember uh Middlesboro destroyed at home by Stoke City 5 nil Stoke were victorious last night uh emay tezgel with a goal Ryan Mame Lewis kumas and a million manhoff braus secured the victory for as they knocked out middlesbor who were last season semifinalists of course no more uh for them barnesley caused an upset uh uh in their game against Sheffield United barnesley of League one against Championship Sheffield United and barnesley were victorious just the one goal in that game Max Waters at the start of the second half skewed the victory for barnesley as they progressed to the second round it was penalties that were needed between Barrow and Darby as they played a goalless 90 minutes at D barrel of course of League two against the championship Derby went to penalties uh Derby missed their first penalty they actually missed three of their five penalties and Barrow scored three which meant they went through 3-2 on penalties uh did Barrow knocking out Championship Derby that was the another big upset of last night h a turnaround lat on at awood Park marar from the penalty spot gave Blackburn Rovers the lead at last 10 against Blackpool before two goals in the final 20 minutes from Blackpool uh Jake basley and Hayden Coulson turned it on its head to knock out Blackburn Rover at the second round uh Brighton had a comfortable home Victory as the Premier League side entered the competition uh against Crawley time a comfortable 4-n home victory for the seagull Simon ad dingra jery Jeremy sento Adam Webster and Mark omahan uh scored all four goals for Brighton last night it was just a one goal in the all Championship tie between Coventry and Oxford as coventry's only goal from Brandon Thomas Asanti a wonderful effort uh secured the victory for centry to send them through to the third round uh as they beat Oxford in the league just a week or two earlier by a similar uh by the same margin of goals uh and they kept the clean sheet this time winning by one goal to nil Everton got their first demestic win of the season after they were beaten at 3-0 on the opening weekend of The League season and 4-0 at the weekend just gone but they won 3-0 at home against League 2 Jaster who they played in the second round last season Dwight McNeil uh elimin and ji and Betto the scorers there Fleetwood were two one winners at home to Ram uh Jimmy McCart with the only goal for Ram before Ryan Gren BR secured the victory for Fleetwood time at Grimsby we at went one up against Sheffield wste Jam Cameron MC Janet give uh Grimsby the lead at five goals in the second half from Sheffield wens they secured the victory for Wednesday as they progressed Preston also scored five away from home as they beat Harriet t five goals to nil four goals in the first half before a fifth at seven minutes from time secured the victory for the championship side it was Premier League Leicester who secured a 4-nil home Victory against League 2 tram Meir uh in their result last night Jordan aayu Stephie mad Wilford and d and Harry Winks the four different scorers for Leicester an upset at the Dan as Championship mwall were knocked out by League one Laton orian Daniel agier with the only goal of the game to knock out mil wall qar and Luton in that all Championship tie had to go to penalties after 1-1 after 90 minutes Luton uh scored just one of their three penalties they took QPR un uh Untouchable in the shootout four penalties taken and four scored as they progressed on shootout penalty PES uh shrewbury uh were knocked out by Bolton at Bolton won by two goals to nil uh Jordy o 22 uh and Dion Charles uh were the goal scorers for Bolton Wanderers there uh walal came from behind this is the one of the upsets of the tie of the round sorry uh an incredible story that one uh Josh karoma put Huddersfield one up League one Huddersfield against League 2 walaw Josh coroma went took Huddersfield One n up they went down to 10 Matthew Pearson with a red card for hutsfield huttersfield then doubled their lead after Nathan low missed a penalty for w Sal to level it Josh Ruffles then doubled middlesbor lead or H huddersfield's lead sorry uh before it was level again Nathan low with two goals uh in the space of seven minutes after he missed his penalty he made up for it got them back level before Michael helck own goal uh secured the victory for Lee to wol against League one huttersfield in that one it was more comfortable for Championship Watford against their Championship opponent Plymouth at uh wi run Plymouth mileta rovic scored both goals either side of the half to send Tom cleverly side through to the third round and in our game we watched last night H in our commentary game two goals inside the first 14 minutes of the game were enough to see Fulham through against League one Birmingham R himz is penalty and Jay Stansfield the former Birmingham player uh scored both goals to secure a win for the Premier League side and another win for a premier league side against Championship opposition as Crystal Palace speak norch by four goals to nil Dai Kamar Jean FIP mateta with two and AER e with the goals at to secure a 4-0 victory for Crystal Palace and that was all of last night's results uh tonight's results as I've mentioned wolves uh were victorious against Burnley it kept that Stak of wins for premier League sides going uh in the competition of course we were bind to lose a premier league side at least two premier league sides tonight with two all Premier League ties but for wolves against Championship Burnley Gonzalo gues out side of the half secured the victory for their first domestic win of the season for wolves and Gary O'Neal after they've lost their first two Premier League games Burnley lost their first League game at the weekend and they've gone to lose back-to-back games uh uh in league and cup one of the upsets of the R Wimbledon knocking out Champion uh League 2 Wimbledon knocking out Premier League I switch incredible G this I switch took the lead through Ali alham after just three minutes uh in the 40th minute it was back to level terms as AFC Wimbledon fin their equalizer through Omar bugil H then it was 2-1 to Wimbledon as they turned the game on its head through Matthew Stevens in the second half before Connor chaplain four minutes from time leveled for EP switch but it was to be the very Fair tale story for Wimbledon as they won in the shootout scoring four their five penalties uh to secure a place in the third round it was an end to- end ding-dong battle at the Cardiff City Stadium between Cardiff and Southampton as the championship side kept fighting back against the Premier League opponents Matas Fernandez put Southampton One n up Ruben cwell then leveled for Cardiff in the game before Samuel amto Amo Amo then put sampton back in front it was again an equalizer from Cardiff Ronnie Edwards own goal uh getting Cardiff back on terms just at the start of the second half Cameron Archer then gave sampton the lead for the third time of the night before Alex Robertson leveled uh for Cardiff for the third time of the night before it got all the way to added time before James Bri and Cameron Archer sealed the deal for the Premier League side who had through it was card of three Southampton five the highest scoring game of uh the competition so far um in the end it was much tighter between uh cester and brenford keing Lewis Potter's first half H effort was enough to see brenford through to the third round it didn't leave them with a late scare though as Jack Payne had his penalty for coester Saved By The brenford Keeper that was their big chance for C to set up an upset but brenford held on in there and got the 1- nil win and Thomas Frank side are in the draw Wickam had to do the exact same league one Wickham away at Championship Swansea uh Richard coone give Wimbledon uh wh Wickham the lead I'm mixing up my words tonight Richard Kone give H Wickam the lead in the first half it was to be the only goal of the game as Swansea at drew a blank although uh they did have quite a number of chances to try and level the game Wickam did end up seeing at out and talking out the championship side in the first of our all Premier League ties of the round saw West Ham narrowly beat Bournemouth by a goal to nil Bournemouth who were stung at the weekend uh with that V decision going against them tonight they can feel a bit hard dump by once again because this West Ham goal has got luck written all over it it was a good play as Muhammad curis took the shot deflected off Jared Bowen and went into the back of the net and that was in the 86th minute there wasn't much time uh for uh Bournemouth to react and in the end it finished West Ham 1 Bournemouth nil and the final tie of the round saw Nottingham Forest and Newcastle head to penalties uh Newcastle took the lead of just 18 seconds as you've heard this evening through Joe will uh there was level in the second half as josa Silva leveled things for forest and then in the shootout it was a dramatic shootout in the end as Joe Linton was the first to miss uh with his uh the second penalty of the night for Newcastle it went to 3-2 with three penalties taking a piece and Forest missed their fourth and fifth penalties Newcastle contrastingly scored their last two and that sent them through Shawn longstaff for the winning penalty the man who bleeds and breathes Newcastle United sending them through to the third round that is all of the ties from the second round to confirm for you those teams brenford Wickham West Ham and Newcastle United so the third round draw is coming up in just a moment uh very very shortly so do not go away that draw is coming up and you will get the live draw here it is a bit more complicated than usual usually it's just 32 teams in a bowl you pick them up and the first team plays the second team blah blah blah blah blah but it is a bit more complicated this time around and we're going to bring you through everything we did this just before kickoff this evening we said we would refresh your memory because it's very difficult to get your head around this uh but these uh are the rules for the third round draw let me just bring it to you so to ensure that there is no Clash of fixture dates uh conditions uh will be implemented during the third round draw to ensure a club participating in the Champions League does not draw a club participating in the Europa League because both competitions get on the way in the same week that uh the carabay cup is being played therefore there could be a clash of fixtures if a Champions League side is drawn against a Europa League side therefore as I said there's conditions in this one the draw consists of the 32 clubs 25 winners from round two and the Seven Premier League clubs that are yet to join the competition uh those are the seven teams uh that finished in the top seven of the Premier League last season uh of course they are Manchester City Arsenal Liverpool Aston Villa Manchester United Tottenham and uh Chelsea now uh Bowl one uh there'll be two bowls in the draw Bowl one will consist of the six champions league and Europa League clubs now you may be wondering there's seven Premier League clubs coming into this one and there's seven Premier League clubs involved in Europe well Chelsea are not involved in this because the Europa conference League does not begin until October uh they're still not through but that competition does not begin uh until October so there's no worry about that so the champions league and Europa League clubs all in that bowl that those six clubs I'll really affirm for you are Manchester City uh Aston Villa Arsenal Liverpool Tottenham and Manchester United they none of those clubs can draw each other uh in uh the um in the third round for the second bowl that would consist of the remaining 26 clubs the 25 winners from round two that we've just witnessed over the last two nights and Chelsea the other of one of those seven Premier League clubs entering at this stage a pre-draw was uh taken before a kickoff this evening between Nottingham Forest and Newcastle we'll bring you the result of that in a moment uh and that that was to decide Home and Away positioning for clubs in Bowl one for the first six ties of the draw now usually what the way a Draw Works is uh you pick from one the first Bowl you pick for the bowl the first team that comes out is the usually the home side to make sure that the uh that the six uh teams in Bowl One don't have that Home Advantage there was a pre-draw to decide who would be home and away uh for that so the first six ties will be drawn uh by alternating between one club from Bowl one and one club from bow two now blll one clubs as I said their position of Home and Away has already been decided so they don't have any sort of extra benefit of that being in Bow one and Bowl two have equal chance of being a home side and the remaining 10 ties after the first sex ties are drawn that will all be drawn as normal from B two only the first side out of those last 10 ties will all be home sides as normally done in the draw so this was the pre-draw uh so these are in order from top to bottom botom are the first six ties so the first balls that we drawn out from ball one they uh are from Bowl One the first Champion League or Europa League side will be at home uh the second uh will be at home third will be at home and fourth will be at home fifth and sixth ties drawn out from Bowl One the Europa League or Champions League sides will be away from home it will make more sense when we do the draw uh but that is just to confirm that for you and here are the all important Ball numbers for for that draw then that we will be uh getting very very shortly uh because we're already 15 minutes over the draw originally being done but of course as we went penalties there's a bit more delays um but uh those are the ball numbers uh we'll read them out in full but some key ones to pick out arsenal number one the holders Liverpool number 16 last year's Runners up Chelsea there at number eight uh Man City number 17 man united number 18 uh of course uh all of those 26 to 32 Wimbledon are through so they're 26 Southampton are are 27 brenford are 28 New Castle are 29 Wickham are 30 West Ham are 31 and wolves are 32 those are all of the ball numbers and the draw will be getting underway very very shortly I'm hoping sooner or rather than later because we can't all be hanging around here all night uh waiting on this draw is already complicated as it is uh and that draw surely not too far away away so uh just to remind you of what's coming up then on lfs because it's a busy week a very busy week and the carabay Cup draw is on the way very shortly so don't worry we're not leaving you hanging here at this moment in time just to confirm uh what's coming up here on lfs over the next few days absolute mouthful uh right um and just to remind you then uh of that pre-draw uh condition uh that we had going the first six ties that will be out will be from One Bowl uh involving champions league and Europa League sides that is the role of that the first four ties to be called out the Champions League or Europa League side from Bowl one will be the home side and for f ties five and six that are pulled out Champions League EUR League team will be the Wayside in that pre-draw I've never been involved in a more complicated and complex draw Ever Ever um but you know the first time for everything uh and we are ready to go eventually thank the Lord uh so um there is that balll one bowl two so balll one will be the six teams involved in Champions League or Europa League uh that is Arsenal Man City Liverpool Aston Man United and Tottenham and then the other 26 teams the 25 winners from round two and Chelsea the other Premier League side entering this uh will be going first so to clear right the Champions League Europa League teams the first six ties will be drawn from Bowl one and then the other side will be drawn from Bowl two you'll get it whenever we get going right so the first one to be at home for the first tie is number 16 and that is the holders Liverpool are right very first and they will face and number 31 are West Ham United who Liverpool beat uh in the quarter finals last season so West Ham will be heading to anfield and the second European side is number 17 Man City they will be at home and they will face number 25 Watford uh who were um two-nil winners against Wayne Rooney's Plymouth last night next up our number one Arsenal they're uh also at home of course with the pre-draw done that way and they will face number six Bolton one wers so Arsenal will face Bolton next out for the Champions League Europa League teams all Champions League team so far our number 18 Manchester United they are at home as well got a record number of Home ties in the competition last season and heading to Old Trafford our number three barnesley who knocked out Championship Sheffield United in round two they head to Old Trafford right now the next out uh the next European side is away so the away side will be John first and the next two so we'll check the home side first and that is number 30 and that is Wickam Wanderers who knocked out Swansea and they will be facing they will fear welcome number two Aston Villa so wck welcome ason villa ason villa who were knocked out by Everton in round three last season they had had to Wick him in round three and the Ryan low was let go of his duties and they will play unlucky number 13 Fulham so Preston against Fulham last season's semi-finalists next are number 11 Everton 3-0 winners against Doncaster of League 2 last night and they will face number 27 s Southampton an all Premier League tie next up our number 20 QPR one at home again at Loftus Road against Luton on penalties in round two and QPR will face
