Station 19 Series Finale: Cast Tearfully Says Goodbye (Exclusive)

God this just feels so um final um I just I want to say to everybody God why is this so hard station 19 coming to an emotional end after seven seasons it's about 100 times hotter out there we got to keep it together for the people we're going back for my emotions uh are a mixture of you know sadness and joy and uh pride and um uh anticipation right excitement of new adventures and you know definitely the feeling of something of a big chapter in my life coming to an end but not without giving fans a glimpse into the Seattle Fire Department's future 19 is not about these particular people or this particular building or even who Captain it's bittersweet I think we've created such a special family here and I think that's that's the thing that we're going to miss most is coming showing up to work every day and just having fun with each other cast crew writers producers I think we're going to feel a lot of emotions we're going to feel a lot of heartbreak it'll be explosive it's going to catch like wildfire or something like that yeah exactly like that the ABC Fire Station drama's Final Episode put out one last fire help it here okay everybody get down everybody will die yeah everybody's going to meet the demise in a terrible fiery way too soon for those kind of jokes Boris what actually happened each character story wrapped up with flash forwards like Robert and Natasha tying the knot ladies and gentlemen I present to you for the first time ever as husband and wife Natasha Ross and Robert so I hope we're going to have some you know resemblance of closure all right because we've grown to love these characters for so long Karina and Maya have kids in the future Ben and Miranda see their son graduate from college and Theo has a kid and wife too it's all coming into a full full like circle at the end you know in in a sense and um people's stories are are are are being uh fulfilled and and yeah it's it's people will'll be happy as for Andy she's eventually promoted to Chief with Maya by her side as Captain 19 is an idea a construct it's Community it's putting yourself out there for the people you love she was such an important part of my life you know seven seasons and um it's hard to separate your character and the story and the circumstances from your own personal life so I think I'm going to take take a huge part of Andy with me ET caught up with the cast on set ahead of the series finale everyone sharing why it's been tough to say goodbye you know it's really sad because of the relationships that you form right this is really all about relationships what we do uh we get to play Make Believe on a daily basis with people we love and respect and this is truly uh one of the best experience I've ever had um I love everybody on the crew and the cast the right ERS the producers and we've really grown uh to be a family these people have been here from the beginning you know so and uh and you get you know you see them every day you get you get close to everybody so it'll be a bummer to but hopefully I'll see them in other projects we're taking each other in um relishing each moment and uh that it's a really profound gift that we've been offered not not only just the fact that we do love each other so much we do uh strive for excellence and everything that we do but the kinds of stories that we're able to tell the representation that we're always able to bring and um that that we push the envelope I think on on what has been seen on network television and I'm just so grateful to be in that Pioneer and forward forward moving kind of uh vehicle but is this really the end of course station 19 is a spin-off of G's Anatomy which begs the question is another spin-off coming down the pipeline you know I spin-off of the spin-off wow I'm you know I I'm trying to just stay in the moment take a day by day and not be so preoccupied about the future but I I like to I like to open the invitation of um ebbing and flowing like water you know go with the where the waves take me and if it takes me in that direction then so be it and I'm open I think it all depends on where I'm at in my life and when that time comes you know what I mean honestly um but yeah you know right now I'm living in the moment I'm appreciating right now and I think we created and made something really beautiful um so I'm just happy to be a part of it it's a spin-off called um Solomon ABC this fall Solomon now transitions from uh captain of the uh of the fire department to now he's a captain of the police force so now there's a police uh Department show that takes place in Seattle mhm which is a off the spin-off of the spinoff the spin-off yeah maybe like Dr Warren spin-off cuz like Boris just pitched his spin-off idea I'm going to give you the money well Ben Ben gets a I think Ben gets another job Ben let's see he's been a doctor he's been an anesthesiologist he's been a surgeon firefighter yes I think he's got to be a cop now so maybe said so Sullivan warrren become cops there you go our new favorite buddy cop show coming to ABC hopefully this fall right this fall there you go this fall there we go [Music]
