DITV Sports: Caitlin Clark Battles the Minnesota Lynx Before Maya Moore's Jersey Retirement

the fans in the Target Center hit a fever pitch tonight as Caitlyn Clark's Indiana Fever came to town and lost 90 to 80 to the Minnesota Lynx who extended their win streak to six games and clinched a spot in the playoffs but the basketball game wasn't the only attraction in town tonight as the Minnesota links retired WNBA Superstar and hero of Caitlyn Clark mayam Mo's jersey in the rafters fever fans and Lynx fans packed into the Target Center for a near soldout crowd to watch one former star be immortalized in the rafters and a current one shine on the court when we came out of the hotel it was like we were in the conference a conference tournament Championship or the final four and with the fans that are around and shine she did Clark had 21 points eight assists and five rebounds in the losing effort I know the sexier part is probably the logo three um but the uh the pace and the passing is what makes her exceptional after the game the Minnesota links raised mayam Mo's Jersey into the raft Moore a six-time Allstar four-time WNBA champion and a one-time WNBA MVP played a large role and influencing Clark growing up obviously this is the closest WNBA team to where I grew up so it's kind of who you root for but at the same time like they were really good so they were easy to root for when Clark was a kid she took a trip with her dad to a WNBA game and she ran up and hugged Maya Moore before the game there's no documentation of that moment but like obviously in my brain like that was one of the most most pivotal moments of like my probably entire basketball career and obviously as a young girl and loving sports like that meant the world to me coming into the game Clark was excited for a chance to play against her favorite team as a kid on the night they immortalized her hero in the arena you know you can't really script it any better and um I'm excited to be a part of it and you know she definitely deserves this recognition so um for me like I said earlier like it's very full circle for me but you know this night is definitely about her and as the fans start to trickle out of the Target Center they leave knowing they were treated to an electric basketball game and an emotional postgame celebration regardless of who they were cheering for from the Target Center in Minneapolis Minnesota Brady barand ditv Sports
