up y'all welcome back to excuse me what's up y welcome back to sports podcast I'm your host is and y'all here to react to the Tennessee Titans first unofficial dep chart so without further Ado let's get into it all right yall so let's start with the offense and there were a couple of things that really caught my eye first thing is y'all you look at the tight end position so you see chica cono and Josh Wy and there's a slash between their names y'all that is indicating that they are co-starters and this really surprises me now we've been hearing uh from Brian Callahan that in Camp has really per Performing excuse me very well but y'all he must be performing even better than what I thought because the fact that him and CH on that list as co-stars I mean coming into the offseason I just thought it was setting in stone that CH conqua was gonna be our starting tight end but y'all we have a little battle going on and listen I think Chi and Josh they both gonna have big roles on our team I think they're gonna both have decent you know production for us this year and the reason I say decent production is because you look at this offense y'all we have a lot of weapons right so I don't think they're going to put up like 6 700 yards but I do think both of them could probably get anywhere from like 400 to 450 each and that would be pretty good production but y'all this must mean that Josh Wy is performing like I said even better than what I thought and for chica cwo hey man just step it up a little bit more this is a great problem to have y this is a really really really great problem to have because the last few years the problem with Tennessee Titans has being man we just haven't had enough weapons offensively so the fact excuse me y that we have a little battle going on at tight end I love this y'all because this is a great problem to have this means we got two starting caliber Titan ends yeah I sign me up for that every day of the week y'all so again Josh Wall is performing very well apparently Chi cago hey not performing terribly but he does need to step it up but again this is a good problem to have and then y'all you also look at offensively look go to the second row y'all you see KY Phillips He's listed as our slot wide receiver as y'all see for Tennessee Titans fans that may be out there finally y'all we are running 11 personnels y'all know in the Mike varable era y'all we will run 12 Personnel 11 personnel y'all is basically three wide receivers says 12 Personnel is two wide receivers and two tight ends finally we are running 11 personnel that's basically what excuse me the best teams in the NFL run y'all so I'm glad we're coming up to the modern NFL and not we're out of the Ice Age that we were once in but um y'all y'all see Cal Phils list as our backup slot wi receiver and I'm really surprised this is not jar Jackson y'all see jar Jackson he's on the third team right now now we know KY Phillips y'all he has been like the king of training camp since his rookie season okay but unfortunately Cal Phillips he has not been able to translate that onto the field so I don't really know what to make of this I don't know if this is a good thing I don't know if this is just the same old Kyle Phillips y'all I'm kind of leaning towards this the same old KY Phillips okay because again since his rookie season in 2022 he has been absolutely lighting up training camp but then when it's time to translate that to to the field y'all he's unable to do so okay so I don't want to get too excited about this I still think I don't even know if CI is goingon to make this roster M y'all this is just an unofficial dep chart right today is only August 8th okay we don't play until September I think it's six or something like that against the Chicago Bears so we still have about a month y' before this de chart is going to be official and set in stone but hey I guess give some credit to Cal Phillips because obviously he's playing you know fairly well training C but again y'all he's been doing this okay I'm not getting excited about Kyle Phillips until this man is able to translate that onto the field y because at the end of the day that's what matters okay training camp yes nice you're performing well but when you're going against other dudes on the other side of the field can you perform well then he is failed to do so y I mean k pH his best game for us was his first game in the NFL right against the New York Giants back in 2022 when we lost right which all that really upset me I still don't know how we lost the freaking Giants of Daniel Jones but anyways y'all Cal Fields he has six catches for 66 yards that game and then the rest of the year he did absolutely nothing but fumble punts and then last season his second season Y what did he do he fumbled punts right I had 15 catches for like 181 yards so again I'm not getting too excited about Cy phers but it did catch my attention to see that uh he was our backup slot wide receiver nqu Jackson but other than that y'all everything else nothing really surprises me I mean I think every everything else uh is is kind of what we expected to see um you see Tony Po and Taj they have a slash between their name as well just like CH and Josh Wally did but y'all we know um Tony poin and T spe I mean both of those dudes are gonna play a lot for us uh no longer G of the days I should say y'all dere kimry where we just had like that running back that Bell Cal no now we're gonna have like this little dual running back system I really love y'all I cannot wait to see Tony Po and TJ Spears those dudes are so Shifty they're so agile they both can catch the football I think Tony P's a little bit a better running in between the tackles y'all but both of those dudes are going to uh play well for us this season and we have an explosive passing game I mean Calvin really let me just get into him a little bit and I know we already knew he was going to be elist at the start on this depth chart but man Calvin really y'all this dude has been making our Corners look crazy making our Corners look crazy in training camp I mean wow what what what what what ass y'all by Rand Caron like seriously remember everyone kept saying oh that was overpaid why did Titans give C really that much money uh because this dude when he was healthy back in 20 22 y'all he had over, 1300 yards and was a All Pro okay so Calvin R is going to have a big year for us but man I just had to mention that this dude has been just going crazy in training camp so far but yeah offense y'all nothing really out of the ordinary this is really what we expected let's move on to defense and really no shock at all I mean as y'all can see we're still going to be running you know a three4 um But now y'all we actually have a nickel quarterback spot listed last season we did not have that but y'all see McCurry is listed as our Niel quarterback AKA y'all the slot quarterback position and look at this secondary I mean wow to do a Raj mccre leg KNE mon hooker Jamal Adams when this uh dep chart came out y'all we had not yet signed quandre digs I do think quandre he's going to be that starting safety next tomani hooker um but even with that um Jamal Adams on can still gonna play a decent amount but yeah I just wanted to point that out for y'all the reason you don't see quandre Diggs on this list is because he was not yet the Tennessee Titan now he is so if this death TR like let's say it came out like here in 30 minutes his name would be on there he would probably listen as the starter but y'all I mean just look at the depth that we have in this secondary man I mean Elijah molden uh Mike Brown Jarvis Brown Lee Jr even Gabe Judy L and he's been playing very well for us I'm surprised he's on 13 Matthew Jackson shahe Carter me we just got so much depth in this secondary you look at the dline lot of young guys right Keandre Coburn Quinn ban Marlon Davidson Rashad Weaver jayen H and y'all jayen H he's turning heads okay I was listening to Brian Callahan's press conference today he said Jaylen her has really been surprised him he said that he views Jaylen her as a three down linebacker a three down Edge rer uh oh y'all now again it's still training camp like I said with Cal Phils I'm not getting too excited yet but I love to hear that because y'all know and we don't it's not set in stone yet there's still a chance to AR key might not be suspended but it's look like like he probably is gonna be suspended and even if AR key is not suspended y'all Jaylen H having him as a backup Edge R is going to be so huge for us because as y'all know this Edge group of my Tennessee Titans is definitely not a strong suit for us man not only we lacking like talent but you know the dep we just have a bunch of young guys that have not proven themselves yet so if jayen Hill could really emerge as as a nice Edge rush for us a nice even if he's not a good run Defender heck we need all the passws we can get that's really all I care about I don't even care about run defense for Ed Rush right now let's just get some more pass R ability from them so if jayen her can provide that that would be great but yeah y'all again nothing too surprising on defense y'all see T swiat tandre swiat he is listed as our starting nose tackle Jack gimons y'all is listed as our started inside linebacker I know a lot of people thought this might be CED gray y'all see cedri gray is on the third team again it's it's still early we don't have to have this Deb chart finalized until next month but I think some people out sedu gra was just going to come in and take the job away from Jack gim y'all Jack gibons is a is a solid player okay I think last year we were not using him properly jack gibons is not the most athletic dude but he's very smart okay for whatever reason Mike RoR and Shane bow y'all they want to put this man back in coverage okay don't do that because Jack GI is gonna get exposed in coverage but if you get him going downhill he's gonna be a good player for you and Kenneth Murray Jr oh man K9 has been playing so well for us as well um and I canot really see what these two uh guys do from the linebacker position I think a lot of people are underrating them y'all mind you this is a different defense for us okay this is not your same old Tennessee Titans we're gonna be aggressive we're gonna be fast we're gonna be physical tenacious we're gonna get after you we're going to Blitz and that's why I canot wait to see Kenneth Murray Jr Jack gim y'all because this is what they do uh the best is bliss the quarterback get after the quarterback again going downhill don't put those dudes in coverage now SRE gr he could come in and you know excuse me y'all if we're going against you know that's coming out in like heavy wide receiver Personnel then you can throw s greay on the field right because Ken Murray Jr and Jack gibons they are not coveraged linebackers but with what they do I cannot really see how dinard Wilson uses those guys this year because I think he's gonna use them very well so y'all you see tene tyt mean look at this roster can you believe that just six months ago y'all M go back six months in February look at how bad this roster look we probably had one of the worst secondaries in the league we had one of the worst wide receiver cours in the league and we have and we had excuse me one of the worst offensive lines in League now y'all let's go back to our office we got Calvin really Tyler Boyd JC leam Lloyd cushenberry Tony po go back to the defense y'all Sebastian Joseph day tanre sweat Kenneth Murray chidobe uer Leger sne y'all Jamal Adams and like I said who's not listening on here quandre digs I mean Rand Caron has totally totally totally totally changed the Outlook of this franchise and of this team currently y'all and I'm telling y'all a lot of people are underrating us they really are but I think we're gonna surprise a lot of people I mean you look at this roster y'all this is a pretty solid roster especially when you think about the shape that it was in like I said six months ago wow I cannot believe excuse me y'all and y'all know I'm going to get up out of here but y'all know that coming into the offseason we had like $80 million to to use y'all I did not think though we were gonna be able to acquire the players that we did so again kudos to Rand carton because when you look at this roster I'm like yes this is exactly what we needed y'all I mean we have players that are actually really good okay no longer we relying on like backup level players to be starters no long no longer y'all we relying on undrafted guys to be starters no like we actually got really good productive players that have been productive players in the NFL for a long time dudes that we know are actually great players in the league Calvin reallyy legus KN Cheeto right Jamal Adams quandre digs Sebastian Joseph day Calvin really Tony parler Tyler boy all those names I just call Y those are guys that are good players in NFL that have proven that they're good players and you know can come in and immediately change this team y'all so I'm excited for our preseason game on Saturday and y'all also oh I almost forgot something let's look at special teams real quick um as y'all see Mas Kenzie is listed as our pump returner now this is really surprising to me because I thought again I thought K Jackson and they don't even have Caris Jackson listed as a pump return they haven't listed as a kick return so that's a little surprising but y'all if you go back and look we can go back and look if you go back and look at our office right now in the receiver room it's going to be very interesting to see who makes this team because I we know Calvin really Tyler Boy de Hawk Nick Westbrook aen and T M you know all those guys are going to make the roster but as of right now y'all Cal philps is listened as our backup slot wide receiver like I said a few minutes ago so he will make the roster and then you have Mason kiny who's listed as our starting home returner so what does this mean for jaquin Jackson does this mean jaquin Jackson is not even going to make this team and again it's still but right now y'all it looks like he wouldn't be on this team because that's already seven wide receivers I just named we're not going to carry a wide receivers just not it's not we're not going to do that so it's just gonna be really interesting to see how this receiver C kind of shapes out y'all because I really thought jaquin Jackson was going to be our starting punt returner the fact that he isn't uh oh does this guy even really have a role for us I hope he does because Jan Jackson you know brings some elements to this team that we could use which is more speed more athleticism offensively right he's like kind of a little versatile chest piece on offense because you can obviously throw him the ball but you can hand it off to him y'all you can run little jet sweets for him so I hope jqu Jackson makes this roster but as of right now y'all just looking at the depth chart I don't think he would again Calvin really Ty boy dehop Nick West k and t Burks all those guys are going to make the roster KY Phillips right now he will make the roster since he's listen our backup w a backup slot wide receiver excuse me and then Macy KY will make the roster because he's listed as our starting P return so there's seven wide receivers right there jaquin Jackson will not fit in but hopefully that changes y'all going back to special teams though y'all see TJ list I started kick returner Nick Folk is listed you know as our starting uh kicker and then Ryan ston house AKA Stony He's listed as our starting uh punter so and you also see Morgan Cox He's listed as our starting Long Snapper man so there have it that is me reacted to the Tennessee Titans first unofficial death chart y'all like I was saying before I DED the Special Teams I almost forgot them but like I was saying I cannot wait uh to see this team play on Saturday y'all some of our starters will be playing I think really all the stars are going to be playing you know outside of like dehw uh uh Cheeto some of the guys that are injured I know BR Ken also said that big Jeff and uh her Landry they will not be playing either but everybody else should be playing unless maybe Leger Ste he's not gonna play or maybe Jamal ABS not gonna play but everybody else should be playing y'all and I canot wait to see what it looks like um I will be on here after that game is over y'all to do a recap of that game um I don't really necessarily care about the outcome per se y'all I just want to see you know how we look operationally um especially officially just making sure you know we don't we're not getting called for Flags making sure everything looks clean and proper and hopefully we're able to put together a little scoring Drive especially when the stars are out there I want to see how like will LS and this new look offense looks uh their first drive and hopefully we're able to go down there put a touchdown up on the board and even if we're not able to score a touchdown I just hope we go out there way a to move the ball consistently also canot really see like I was saying y'all Tony p and Taj go out there and do their thing as well obviously they're not gonna be playing too long but for the time that out there yeah I cannot wait to see it but yeah like I said y I will be on here after that game to do a little brief recap obviously won't be too much because it's a preseason game so not that much you can take away from a preseason game but I would be here nevertheless y'all so does little bit because I was yelling so much when USA played um but I must admit to y'all these games are pretty boring you know it's normally how it is in the preseason but Drake May for the Patriots I mean he only threw the ball three times but look nice though two or three 19 yards um and then for the Giants man I mean nothing really no worthy like the giants look really bad so um they gonna be bad you know during the regular season no respect to the Giants fans that may be out there but yeah any of y'all watching those games y'all probably aren't the only reason I watching is because I want to see some of the rookies but um Xavier Legette for the Carolina Panthers he's not even playing so I just really want to see him and Drake may play once I found out that you know Xavier Legette was a play I was like okay I still watch because Drake May and then and now Drake May y'all his night is over with so I'm probably done watching this game but it's how the preseason game is we only really watch the preseason you only watch the preseason really one if it's your favorite team and two if you're looking forward to seeing like any of these rookies play right which I am um and that's why I'm watching them but once those rookies you know are um taking out of the game I'm like dumb watching what's the point I don't want to see like third and fourth string guys play these dudes aren't even going to make the team so what's the point of me watching them play and that's why these preseason games are normally born they seem like they're super long y'all you watch a preseason game and it feels like the game has been going on for like six or seven hours I guess because just so boring and you're watching dudes out there that really aren't that good so it it's just not that interesting run blocking is it's it's cool but you need dudes that can get open you need dudes that are Playmakers on the outside right you need dudes that can make guys miss in open field you need dudes that are great at contested catch situations and we have that y'all we have that now man y'all can tell I'm fired up I'm G be honest y'all I probably haven't been this fired up for Tennessee Titans football since the 2021 season when we had just acquired Julio right we had AJ dere Henry Ryan Tanner Hill all those guys were playing you know extremely well for us and then officially we had just signed um B Prix Deno arrey jorris Jenkins you know had Kevin bar big Jeff Amman hooker Christian fton haven't been a dis tited for uh Titans season since then y'all like seriously because in 2022 I kind of knew what we were going to be I had us going 9 and eight we went s- 10 but I knew we W going to be a Super Bowl contender so we traded away AJ and then last year I said we were going to go 6 and 11 we went 6 and 11 so yeah I knew last year was going to be even worse than what 20122 was because I just looked at this rer I'm like man we don't have a great wide receiver core our quarterback Court stinks offensive line is garbage like I knew it was not gonna be a great year for us last season but this year I'm like oh yeah I have high expectations for this team and that's why y'all have us going to the playoffs yes I have us going to the playoffs I have us going 10 to seven that's just what I think and know it's not because I'm a homer y I mean you really look at this team like last year that we had like seven games that were one possession seven games that were one possession y'all if we had dis roster last season we probably would have won 10 or 11 games seriously we just didn't have the talent at the end y'all remember that colt game that won the overtime right it was a really good performance by us but in the end y'all we just didn't have the horses to compete we didn't y'all remember Shawn Murphy bu he gave that long play to Alec Pier it was like a 60 I think a 67 yard pass that he gave up can you imagine that was a jar Snee on Al Pierce man he would have clamped him up he would have clamped him up okay I know I'm kind of ranching and raving a little bit but I just when people think that that we're not going to be good I'm like man just look at how close we were last year and a lot of games y'all if we had this rer again if we had this rer last year we're a 10 or 11 win team and now that we do have this rer this year granted our schedule a little harder but I
