so I'm out here in St Louis Missouri and I'm right behind you can you can't see I'm right in front of like the Golden Gate arches uh that's not what it's called I don't think is it a Golden Gate or is that just the San Francisco bridge or something I don't know maybe whatever I'm right offs side the famous Arch that is in St Louis that you can Google the name of but um what I have with me is something called Lion's Choice which is a local um like fast food chain in St Louis and from what I've seen it's actually pretty popular here I mean there's like 20 locations but they're just in St Louis and um they basically make roast beef sandwiches and stuff like kind of like a little bit of Arby's but I'm not actually here to talk about the roast beef or the food I'm not here to review their food I'm I'm here to talk about the dessert dessert right here and uh this dessert is actually I'm going to talk about is kind of um think the thing that's known in St Louis and it's kind of famous because of St Louis and the two things I have right here are a frozen custard um well that's not the Frozen actually that that that's the thing I want to talk about I have a frozen custard Sunday and a frozen cluster concrete otherwise just know as a concrete otherwise just just known as a blizzard so for those of you don't that don't know the Dairy Queen blizard was invented in St Louis and there's a couple different people that claim they invented it uh the one spot that's most famous for you though is this place called Ted Drew which they they were just like a frozen custard set stand and apparently they claimed that they brought Frozen Custard en Tien it's entirety to St Louis and that they also invented the uh the concrete and then uh some that became popular in St Louis and then that was that's just their claim every single ice cream shop in the city uh you know has like also claims that they're the ones who invented it but what a fact a fact that is known and this is a fact is that a Dary Queen franchise owner in St Louis um basically came was the first Dairy Queen franchisee to actually start selling these um concretes at a Dairy Queen and then that later got picked up by corporate or whatever and became the blizzard and that was like in the 80s and that that is a fact that happened in St Louis and that's so they it's true the blizzard did come from St Louis what exact ice cream shop invented it first and made it popular in the city or that style of ice cream which is known as a concrete that's like the non um trademarked word for a blizzard is a concrete and we we still don't know who that is but the um what is a concrete well it's frozen custard what is Frozen Custard well Frozen Custard is pretty much ice cream which ice cream typically consists of just like milk and sugar and um cream and then it's ice it's frozen so I mean you know they they cool it keep it moving so it doesn't just you know I mean you you can look up how ice cream is made but the distinction between ice cream and custard is that custard as eggs regular ice cream is not contain eggs and that adds like a whole different texture and flavor to it cuz I mean you're adding like protein in there you're you're adding like extra [ __ ] like stuff and um concrete is when you take a custard and you blend things into it that's the B most basic definition but generally it's a thicker custard okay because um you know you want you want Dairy Queen I mean all the all the places that advertise concrete and they were doing this in St Louis before Dairy Queen picked up on the blizzard they were advertising the fact that you can turn it over and turn it back under and um this one you cannot this one was not advertised like that but it is adverti as a concrete because the only part of the definition of a concrete is that it has things mixed into it it's a custard with things mixed into it and then this is a Sunday so it's is the Custard with things on top of it and um so basically the way they would make a concrete even thicker so that you can turn it upside down and back up again is by just making the concentration of eggs larger but I'm going to try these things right here see what they uh see if there's any difference between the concrete or the custard but I think that they're actually the same thing as just the concrete in this situation just the concrete just has things mixed into it so and then I got strawberry of both of them I was thinking Oreo but um you know that gets old I mean every blizzard I've ever gotten from Dairy Queen is an Oreo so I'm gonna try this yeah I mean it is distinct from ice cream oh yeah I mean it's definitely a lot of more full and flavored you know definitely different texture I mean that's what the eggs do and then this here is just regular custard the [ __ ] so a concrete and again this is where it all started um the fast food place I got from this stuff it's a St Louis CH of fast food restaurants Lion's Choice uh they don't claim to be the ones that started it you know I think they just primarily make um you know their fast food sandwiches but because it is St Louis and they're known for their concretes they sell concretes there and I mean let's see if it's at least better than the Dairy Queen one it it better be because I mean it's a It's Made was made here where it was invented yeah yeah so you can tell this is what a blizzard is a homemade and better so if you're um thinking about coming to St Louis um Ted Drews is a really good spot to stop it's if if you're looking for things to do here they claim to be the ones that invented it so does every other ice cream shop in the city they all claim to be the ones that invent to the Custer it's kind of like in um if you go to Puerto Rico uh every single bar at every single Hotel says that they were the ones who made the first panut colada and so that's why I didn't even care to actually go to Ted itself I just got which was closest to me and I was also a little bit hungry so I got one of the roast beef sandwiches as well and it I bet you it's going to be better than RB's 2 because I mean actually I'm going to show you guys the roast really Qui well the rast beef looks a little bit more roast but um yeah if you're here check it out guys out Hey so uh one thing I forgot to mention earlier guys if you came to my video maybe you were uh Googling you know what things are known what types of food are known to be from Louis and uh you came across Frozen cluster is one of them and you probably maybe saw that it was invented here and when you're Googling that and you're looking up places to eat uh Frozen Custard in St Louis again uh Ted again Ted Ted is like the main one and the uh the reason that it is so famous is that um is not is not so much that they invented it it's that it was a stop on Route 66 and uh you know if anywhere is going to be a famous pit stop on Route 66 it's for ice cream it's going to be right here in St Louis Missouri obviously the Gateway to the West it's where you got to fuel up right before you're officially out west you got to stock up on your food your you know your your gas you know back in the day they didn't they didn't go that far on a tank of gas I mean or you know you got to get your oil changed back in the day before you went out west you know on Route 66 because cars didn't go that long and um so you had to stock up on that too and you also had to stock up on your cold ice cream and so if anywhere's going to be a good pit stop on Route 66 it's going to be uh St Drews and the other thing about that is that is uh basically people are saying that tedu might not be the best frozen custard in St Louis and a better one um is Mr Wizards and people are going back and forth between them from what I've been what from what I've been hearing as to who has the best frozen concrete original not frozen Custer original Frozen concrete you know what St St Louis is known for in St Louis and um so I mean anyone that's from here tell me in the comments what you guys think which one's better and uh you know if you ever come here you should probably stop it Ted RW because that's like the The Landmark this the tourist stop on Route 66 they probably have Route 66 stuff there too I just didn't have a chance to go there myself because I'm not in St Louis long enough to check it out so uh peace out guys and have have a fun trip fun travel wherever you're going
