Caylee Cottrell Interview: Demontrey Jacobs

I'm Kaylee catreliables Insider and today I'm chatting with offensive lineman demontri Jacobs [Music] when you're blocking for someone like Brian Betty who's coming off three straight games with over 100 yards how does the o-line achieve that level of success oh really this is doing it for for that purpose alone really just trying to get his status up you know it means the world to us that he can achieve that level of success so just being able to put the right foot forward at practice and just preparing though tell Brian how big games it helps it helps everybody in the program so that's just our biggest thing just trying to help everybody shine well you've been playing alongside Cecil Jennings and hall for three New Years now you've made 23 starts talk to me about the bond of the o-line oh it's been a bond from the very beginning honestly like when I first walked in for camp in 2020 like me and Donald clicked instantly and just building a relationship with those guys over the years we just became Brothers really and like I said it's it's so unreal the way how close we are in that room is just yeah well what's it like playing under coach Mo because I know the incredible energy oh I guess they're playing for Coach Motors it's a great feeling for somebody who truly cares about the game and cares about his people that he's coaching and the person he brings to it uh be a Madman but like I said it just that energy just spreads along the room man yeah I think that's what helps us keep striving for more well I also know that your mom is a head volleyball coach for Southern University how did having a mom as a coach influence you as a player and what are your experiences like with other sports um I would say I'm pretty athletic I could I could I could play around with a lot of sports but yeah my mom is a coach she really is still like that work after that drive and she was just they always pushing me and encouraging me and telling me like I had always had a little more to give so and I mean we didn't got in the past before you know like she she's different but like I said she helped me become the man I am today so nice I appreciate that for everything it's always a good experience I honestly since basketball I just we just want to in the mirror leave the screen nice uh a volleyball okay love it football obviously yeah you know a little tennis a little golf okay yeah I love it well talk to me about your plans for the future because I know you have a bright future ahead oh well my biggest thing is trying to make a roster coming up coming to this next year uh go home and train and just try to prepare myself the best way I can just for this opportunity that's coming so you're going to make sure I'm doing everything I can in my power to make something prepared for that moment just make that roster love it thanks so much for watching with me today thank you [Music]
