alohawk Welcome To Paradise haa Hawaii just outside of halulu and the home of the Hawaii Rainbow Warriors a tremendous setting and a spectacular game that we have in store we believe we've got a great one in store today and we've got a team that makes it into the top 25 now when you go on the road that's where you prove you belong [Music] [Applause] the kickoff team on the field as they'll send this one away on the move from inside is five he was looking for some Running Room but not much to be found as he stopped at the 18 so the Hawaii Rainbow Warriors offense will take the first swing of the game as we watch this wide receiver come onto the field when you have a dude like this you find ways to get him the ball over and over again no matter what the defense tries to take away yeah because the defense can't win whether you double teaming we're still going to win and they're going to give him the ball and quick passes they're going to throw deep and they're going to take advantage of him every opportunity they can they will feed him they will feature him because he's just that good quick completion on the out route and he goes out of bounds after a nice pick up on that one they'll try to move the chains on Third and short from the 25 they get him on the ground after he gets enough to move the sticks the Rainbow Warriors will snap it on First and 10 first for the offense used the play fake now to throw lost one deep down the right side it's complete a huge pickup touchdown Hawaii reeled it in and just made the house call and man is that perfect timing you can tell a quarterback drops back he sees this guy and he knows he's open but watch the throw deep down the field Palmer right in the Red Basket nice play nice pitch and catch did a nice job but getting it up in the air early and allowing his guy to run under the football locate it and then make a tough that is the definition of an explosive [Applause] play lining up to attack one more onto that lead and he's got the extra point and it's seven nothing to start this one quick work on that scoring drive just four plays and they finish with a huge play in the passing game covering 66 yds to The End Zone from inside his own 10 he'll try to help out their field position he was looking for more Running Room but none to be found as he stopped at the 23 as we take a look at our impact players for this one what are you looking for Jesse for a guy to make an impact well these are simply put the leaders of this football team and generally games go how these guys play if they make plays they've got a shot to win this one no doubt they got to show up these are the team leaders these guys have to play well if they're going to win the P picked up two two yards on that last one they need eight on second down from the gun they'll give it on the inside finds Z PR and he's got four out to the 29 they'll try to muscle their way forward on Third and short from the 29 from the gun wants to pass fires to the big fella and with that effort they pick up a fresh set of downs they have it at the 34 yd line they sa success rate can be picking up about out four or so on first down first and 10 he's knocked down in the back field he'll lose a couple offense gets set for second down from the gun the ground game not much he could do there does pick up two to the 34 man down on the play as the officials take a break to let him be checked out they line up with some serious work to do if they want to convert this one on third down going up top he's going to throw deep right [Applause] side and they can't hook up on the big play and that brings up a fourth down they bring the pter onto the field [Applause] now let's see what he can do with it everybody stays in their Lanes well enough and they stop him at the 31 yd line Hawaii has it back as they send the offense onto the field that last Drive really productive David wound up with a touchdown they'll try to do it again yeah so I don't expect this offense to change too much ree they had a great Drive they got the touchdown everything working I would expect them to keep pushing this ball down here and just imagine if they could put another touchdown on the board right here they could capture so much momentum in this game backto back TVs oh so close to paying off the tip really had it in in his hands but it falls incomplete working that left side that'll be enough for the first down as they stop him at the 43 yd line looks as if we have an injury on that last play and we'll take a break to check him out now it's a first down from the 43 yd line they'll run it from the gun shakes off the tackler and he'll make his way out of bounds after the solid pickup 6yd pick up on first down leaves him with second and four hand off from the shotgun brought to the ground but not before getting it up for the first down and the Rainbow Warriors look to keep this drive humming trying to find his man on first down not quickly complete and wait just a second the officials going to take a second look at this one and they take another look at the play with the officials on the field we right and the play will stand and with the completion out to the sideline they'll pick up a couple going to work on second down in the red zone is still some ground to cover to pick up that first down feeling some heat finds his big tight end and he might be known for run fits but that was a sure and heavy tackle on the tight end really need to pick up up this conversion and avoid having to settle for the field goal he'll keep it himself nowhere to run on that one he loses four on the carry and if the kicker can put one through this will be a successful Drive splits the upright right down the middle and now the lead is even bigger [Music] [Music] after that last field goal Drive they're set to kick it [Applause] away here's the return from inside is 10 nice job executing all of the assignments as they put a stop to back return at the 22 on first down here comes this offense it's complete to the left they stop him just short of the first down but it will be second and inches coming up and they'll come to the line with less than a yard to go tight end finds a soft spot and they reacted well to the completion but it was too late to keep them from getting the first down they'll ride the running back and leave it with it you know runs like this often times are like a boxer in a boxing match obviously it's not a knockout punch but these are body blows and as the game goes on these small gains are going to turn into longer runs continuing to turn and move it forward and they're closing in on Midfield it's down at the 48 after the strong run on second down third down coming do they do it again they'll try to pick it up on the ground that'll be enough for a first down as he crosses the 1550 gets it to the 48 here's this offense with a fresh set of [Applause] downs pulls and throws off the RPO excellent job working through the air there finding a hole in that defense and picking up a first down they're about to run a dirty half dozen plays on this drive leaves it with the running back just enough room to gain a couple down to the 34 as they get set to snap it just about to reach the end of the [Music] quarter from the gun running back on the move and they'll make the Stop and we are headed to the end of the first period guys it is Hawaii who will carry the lead to the quarter break really strong performance so far to be able to build a lead here in the first period as we look at the stats now the challenge here they've taken a punch but they can't let it get out of hand as we start the second on Third and long trying to have a big completion here he's got it on the Move he's right out of bounds after the big game and they are in business first and goal the coach wants the officials to have another look at the monitor using a timeout here thinks the call is going to end up going his way might have to give that coach a flag and a whistle he was right on in his view of the play and the officials agree and overturn the [Applause] call he splits the yep rights and puts three on the board well that kid just showed up his hammer for a leg 50 plus and he did it with ease so after the made field goal they'll kick it away and rely on their [Applause] defense on the run from inside his own five he was hoping for something a little more Dynamic but they get him on the ground at the 20 the Hawaii offense returns to the field and the lead here last time they set him for a field goal but David got to find that balance between being aggressive and careful and I think you'll take care I got the lead Palmer I got the football I got to take care of the football put a nice drive together and just get some kind of points on this drive no doubt lots to be happy about right now if you're this team I think for this one though on this drive it's about finding the one-on-one matchups that are in your favor and then exploit and the short completion brings up second down looking for a man it's shager he's got his man and that defense is there to guide him out of bounds after for a short gain now facing a third and long third coming from the gun wants to pass got it in the middle it's MCB they make the stop if this passing game does some damage and they move the sticks with the first down he wants to throw it again caught finally brought down at the 31 it's a pickup of 15 yds on the play and they've got a first down and this has got to be so demoralizing for this defense right now hav given up multiple first downs on this drive somebody on defense has to step up and he strides his way into the end zone touchdown Warrior effective top leading the way here and establishing this lead and that's how you draw it up right you want to come out be clicking early get everything going way to get all the facets rolled the defense right now on their fields they have no answers the offense doing whatever they want he'll try to tack on one [Music] [Applause] more and with the extra point they pushed the lead out a little further almost ready to kick it away after scoring the touchdown from inside his own 10 let's see what he gets just never had a chance to shake loose and he'll be brought down at the 24 guys this offense coming back out onto the field out of the gun the running back has it good blocking good running pick up of six out to the 30 I know it's sexy to throw the football but if you can pound it away and get these kind of gains they will just add up wear the defense down get first downs and ultimately get some points got six on first down now a lot of options on second and [Applause] four he's looking to throw quickly complete and a good job of coverage by that defense just a short pick up that last completion still leaving them with a third down they'll try to bully their way for the first and he was able to run through a tackle and they finally get him but not until he picks up the first [Applause] down wide receiver shows motion to the ground he's got it again and I think they'll give him two on that one second and eight coming up went with the running game on first down now back at it off play action chunk it away just as he was hit that pass is incomplete and they might be fortunate it wasn't knock free for a fumble it'll be third down from the gun wants to pass it's on Target and complete they'll get it to the 48 no need to measure it to first down well look that wasn't a touchdown but that was a massive play for this offense they needed some momentum you need to find a rhythm in what better way and converting on third down awesome job by the quarterback getting we've made our way to the two-minute warning and now they'll try to at least cut a little something off of this lead before the break this senior quarterback a little too bold there and he's lucky he didn't get picked off throwing into double coverage on second down he'll try to make the connection he's got it he's got it and he'll take it in for the touchdown and I tell you what that passing touchdown man that should sparked this whole team like The Comeback is more than on now like they got the touchdown they cut into the lead you want to get a stop and go into the half get all the juices all the excitement and be like listen the passing game's rolling we got this The Comebacks in full [Music] effect lining up for the p [Applause] and it's up and good as they draw Just a Touch closer so it's a 77 yd touchdown drive and the points come on a pass from 39 yds out and here's the return gets it out to the 20 about five yd short of where he'd be if he' just taken a knee in the end zone Hawaii ready to go back to work on offense after standing on the sideline and watching that long touchdown Drive they really need to put something together to give their defense a rest and that's a real thing man like you played a lot of plays you get worn out you need a chance to go decompress on the sideline get some oxygen Palmer now it's on this offense yeah this is the definition of complimentary football cuz it's a two-prong problem You' got to score points and answer but you've also got to take your time and give your defense an opportunity to get their win we got a timeout here late in the first half and they'll try to get four points on the board before the break third and long and he'll try to throw for it finds his man it's SS timeout is called and it's the defense wanting to make sure that everyone's on the same page for this big down the Rainbow Warriors decide to punt it away he'll try to really get into this one this is a spot you see many returners try to take a chance but not this time fair catch just inside the 40 they're going to throw it to start the drive and they're not quite in Rhythm there it's incomplete line getting set on second down they'll throw again after the incompletion a strike downfield and he was on his way gets it all the way to the 38 this offense absolutely humming as they come to the line again receiver looks it in it's complete all the way down to the 25 yd line they move the sticks it's first down fresh set of downs after the completion that's first for the off it's complete on the right side they make the stop but not before he sets them up with a first and goal from the 10 this offensive scoring position with a fresh set of downs comes out throwing on first down got it crisp execution in the passing game and they got it down to the three now on second and goal they're trying to get to it and the quarterback goes down at the 11 yd line I'd like to see a little more creativity here with respect to the route running and playong to help get these receivers open right now in that last play they didn't do anything to work away from the Defenders they're at their fastest Tempo trying to get off this third down play from the gun wants to pass can't make the connection on third down thanks to that tough hard-nosed pass defense and now it's fourth down and here comes the field goal unit for the second time tonight and it's right down the B Bar [Music] so they get the late field goal right before the half and not much time after this kickoff for an answer from inside the 10 here he comes he was hoping for something a little more Dynamic but they get him on the ground at the 20 just a few seconds remaining here as they try to put something up before halftime they make the stop at this running game moves to change as they get the first down first half in the books time now to join Kevin Connors in our halftime update man nice to see you actually showed up for today's broadcast in Paradise given all there is to do there in Honolulu each of these two offenses has looked like well oiled machines but it doesn't take a genius to figure out these two passing attacks have run circles around these defenses man or Zone nothing seems to be working and I'm not sure that defensive coordinator is going to be able to figure things out here at halftime and with that let's say aloha once again to the guys inside Aloha Stadium and the rainbow Warriors will boot it away to start the second half from inside the 10yd line he'll bring it back he was looking for some Running Room but not much to be found as he stopped at the 18 they'll start this drive from the 18 yd line going up top on first down complete to the left good call good execution as they move the chains and they have a first down at the 38 at the 38 up for a Ed the play fake now to throw how about that play to get a hand in there and force the incompletion here comes the offense on second down from the gun they'll try to impose their will pretty good effort on that one to work his way up to the 42 come to the line at the 42 facing a third and short from the gun wants to pass didn't have anything working and just had to throw it away on third down and here comes the punt team this will be the second time they've had to kick it away he'll call for the fair catch here Hawaii has it back as they send the offense onto the [Music] Field hold it finds his man on left and they pick up just a few on that completion ran the ball on first down let's see what they do on second it's a draw runs through the tackle just a Savvy veteran productive run from this junior now on First and 10 from the 26 he wants to throw quick strike complete and the defense settled in to stop that one for a short game they'll line up for a second down play second down coming up from the gun they'll try the middle drag down after a pick up of five out to the 35 these are the types of plays where offenses impose their will third and short from the 45 quarterback Quick Pass to the receiver and he'll get it up to the 38 it'll be a first down the Rainbow Warriors are moving quickly down the field offense to the air on first down fires to the wide out on target over the middle and they make the tackle but the official has tossed his flag holding that penalty moves the ball back 10 yds will replay the down well that's going to make it a little tougher it's first and 20 he's going up top got it end stride inside the 20 and he'll take it to the house he a't got loose touchdown Hawaii quarterbacks love receivers that can get separation but that amount of Separation uh is a little excessive I agree re and I think the defense needs to have a little powwow on the sidelines and talk about what just happened because that was an absolute busting coverage on the back end defense can't keep playing right that ready to try the point after on for the extra point and the extra point is good it's 2413 so that scoring Drive took only six plays and they close it in style with a 72 yd pass to the house looking for an alley from inside his own 10 now he's just enough space to cross the 25 let's mark it at the 27 yd line quarterback empty SE his back field he lofs one down the sideline and this is dropped incomplete pass he had a huge gain in his fingers and he couldn't hold on looking for a physical attack from the gun squirts across the 30 to the 32 a pick up of five and this offense is desperate to keep this drive alive trailing by multiple possessions and it's getting late grab near the marker it's young and he's knocked down immediately but not before he moves the chain the analytics nerds will tell you that a four- yd pickup on first down is a successful play Let's see what they have on First and 10 and a good solid pick up before the defense Cuts him down halfway there on first down it's second and five trying to get the edge on the toss couldn't ask for much more there a first down and they're down to the 42 if you want to test the physicality of a defense get the toss play G get the outside Run game working CU those DBS are going to have to find ways to fight off blocks and you're going to find out just how badly these little guys want to put their face in the fan this offense will snap it from the 42 on First and 10 from the gun leaves it on the inside with the back that's a really good job by the defense wrapping him up getting him on the ground take away that run game make him one dimensional put him in passing situations really good job by the defense he makes the connection they make the stop right there good pickup it's still short of the first down man down on the play as the officials take a break to let him be checked out trying to wear down this defense a seventh play of the drive it's third and one they'll try to run for for it now well within Striking Distance as that third down play gets him a first at the 29 first down Ed the play fake now to throw unloads to the wide out got him downfield and he's brought down after a nice game now inside the 20 first and 10 from the 18 pulls it in it's Williamson and good coverage by the defense just a short game operating in the Red Zone here on second down he's looking to throw using the quick game they'll get it down to the 8 yd line on that throw and catch and the defense is backed up against the wall on Third and short just trying to get enough for the first down wrestled to the ground after picking up the first down first and goal and a touchdown here really really gives him momentum the off takes a snap wants to throw and he'll take it into the end zone for a touchdown sometimes we ask coaches about halftime adjustments and they go blah blah blah blah blah I mean sometimes they make some good ones sometimes that blah blah blah blah blah actually works but it's working now but it might be too little too late but at least you got the party started [Music] they're going to go ahead and go for two here and try to make it a field goal [Applause] game moving the running back trying to get the D to tip its hand and he dropped it just didn't look the thing all the way in about to kick it off after punching it in for the touchdown he'll return it pulled down at the 18 and the decision to bring it out of the end zone was not a good one a little bit backed up to start this drive from their own 18 yd [Music] line got his man downfield gets enough for the first down but not sure they'll get another playoff here in the third quarter and with that pass right there over 300 yd that's that's a good day at the office being able to execute doing a good job seeing what's coming anticipating taking some shots thing but his hold really strong put up some good nums that's quite a start to a drive and now they'll snap it from [Applause] Midfield the give to the tail back really nice stop there from this senior leader after picking up a couple at second and eight down quickly complete and the defense had that one well covered just a short game there they started this drive with a big play but now they need a conversion to keep it alive on third down throws to the wide out that is just a sideline cred roll catch toe drag everything you want back to pass it's shager got his man and a really nice job by the wide receiver he run a drag route find Space they're in Zone coverage they not covering manto man find a little hole look at that QB y'all get on the same page you could tell they were and that's why they got the first down they're working that left side he's there to make the stop but the damage has been done as they pick up the first down on the throwing catch going to the run it's Sim not a whole lot of room there three yards maybe second and seven going to work in the Red Zone they can't pick up the first down without getting it into the The End Zone makes a man miss they get him on the ground at the three yd line but this defense is taking some punches so this offense with an opportunity to put this game in a hammer lock just hammer it with this running back again and he knows it's his way into the end zone the offense flexes its muscle a bit and WID the take a little exhale you know you did your job you got points now you put your defense in position where hey go out and get another stop we're in great shape so the offense definitely taking care of their [Music] business getting set for the point after and with the extra point the lead is a dozen here in the fourth so an 82 yd drive there and closed the deal with a three- yd touchdown run from inside the 15 here's the return couldn't find a way to create that broken field as he stopped at the 25 the drive starts from their own 25 yd line they'll move the running back to try to force the defense to adjust finds his tight end I think if you're the head coach at this point you're telling your offense doesn't matter what's happened up to this point of the game obviously things haven't gone our way but we have a chance to execute in a two-minute situation and give ourselves a chance to win let's go do it one play at a time he's really close to that first down marker but they stop him just a bit short here comes the hurry up third down they'll go to the air on Third and short got his man in the middle he ended up losing yardage on the play and that'll bring up fourth down quick Tempo here for the offense on fourth down they'll throw for it complete and looking for enough for the first down and they knock him down but he got past the line game they've got it at the 36 it's a first and 10 man those plays are frustrating on a defense you get three stops and you force that fourth down trying to get off the field but the offense makes the play gets the first down it's almost like you got to kind of re-calibrate refocus foret that one let's do it again yeah and you're just running out a time where you can have these small Gams where the clock continues to R run this offense definitely got to have some urgency down late in the game I need to force some plays Palmer probably down the field and if you're the defense you can have that all day we're going to play Big zones we're going to keep the ball in front of us we got the lead you're going to have to make catches like that make us miss but you want to keep throwing those little Dink and and it's picked off and he's brought down after the pick but not before putting his offense in business nice job by this defense that might be the ex Point fourth quarter I got a lead you bring on the nickel defense you know they're passing the football for plays just like that to make the int and almost put this one [Music] away the Hawaii offense returns to the field man what a drive last time for the touchdown that passing attack was Lethal David yeah and you know you hear all these stupid commentators like and Jesse talking about create balance you run and pass no when you throw that good spin the ball around so the defense has to find a way to affect the quarterback on this drive because last drive he had way too much time to throw and he's able to shed one tackle and pick up pretty good yardage timeout called there by the defense desperate to get the ball back and save as much time as possible they'll run it trying to drain time off the clock oh better look out and they are finding some space in this defense he's got it down to the 25 quick timeout called by the defense stopping the clock to save as much time as possible for their offense leaves it with the back they bring him down and he's going to lose a yard on that one defense uses a timeout quickly trying to get that ball back and preserve time for their offense I'd expect we're going to get another dose of the running game at this point even though it's second and 11 One Step WRA two-step squeeze this junor knows how to get him on the ground quite a bit of work to do on third down from the 23 and this D would love to force a field goal try to the air it's shager and it's incomplete on third down and they'll send the field goal team back out for the second time tonight and this one splits the upright and now the lead he extended a little [Music] F first order of business here don't give up a big return then the defense just has to keep them out of the end zone and he takes this from inside the five not a lot of space to be found good Hustle by the coverage team and they stop him at the 21 I'm sure these guys on offense dreamed of this situation big stage time winding down desperately needing a score well now they can make those dreams reality now on second down after the [Applause] incompletion he's looking to throw he's taking a deep shot late in the game and it slips through his fingers incomplete that would have been a huge gain if he could have held on trying to move the sticks on third down through the air on target to the left and they are pushing the ball down the field a big pick up on that one and the tackle is finally made yeah the quarterback knew exactly where he wanted to go with the football had time bends the ball deep nice job by this offense understanding what the defense has given him and creating the explosive play offense rushing to the line of scrimmage clock has stopped for the first down they'll try to get it off quickly all wide outs no backs second [Applause] down on second down he'll fire now one falls out of bounds incomplete if they can convert here that type of play can really give you a shot of momentum on third down he'll try to pick it up through the air couldn't find a in and just had to throw it away to avoid a negative Play Down by multiple possessions they can't come up empty on this drive in the fourth quarter they'll go for it on Fourth he's going to let one fly down the middle and it's batted away in the fourth down play doesn't convert they'll give up the football turn and with things in their favor on on the scoreboard the quarterback's favorite play in The
