I Went Back To Prison...

I'm on my way to the Oregon State Prison going to go sing some songs for the boys in here now gu what we're starting with we're going to open it up we we full some prism it's an old maximum security high tower prison look at the weeping willows they sit up in those guard towers with bean bag guns shotguns and sniper rifles with bean bags in them that'll hit people and knock them down and knock them out right then the mediately they're prepared for this to get really bad at any moment this is insanity that old Barb Wire bro darkest places on Earth old school industrial prison too man look at the crows they're sitting up there to there still some on the perch probably looking for food they probably know it's a food source on that yard food source over here they're collecting crows I've known inmates that have had pet birds and rats I know inmates that have had cats where cats gotten through the wall and the warden just been like [ __ ] ITC are stoked Beyond St I'm glad glad to come in and bring a little hope this is the real fun I'm also the only one that's been to prison we're a squad baby look at them up there on the tower with a gun crazy I mean anytime you get inside of one of these when that gate shuts you realize that we count on them for our freedom at that point we're just trying to bring hope into a dark place today baby normally it's like it's easy to go in and go to units and talk to guys and play acoustic but like to get a couple few hundred inmates out on the yard it's a big deal it one oh bro this is prison prison this a real yard this is awesome oh this is [ __ ] dope Nick Nick nice to meet you thanks for everything fing is God this is real so in the yard having a concert I know that's been decades this is heart touching man this is cool it is a straight prison yeah get some sleep yeah oh good yeah I slept a little bit I feel good good deal good de me I get the hide and SE wife in about 10 days so I'm going to get to see her tonight oh really if you want to say anything to them the camera in the middle is a live feed to the guys that are still inside okay out here okay I'd move it quick though I'm afraid that rain's coming and Tennessee that cold wind right there yeah that means that means one of these clouds got some water in them that's that old Tennessee boy as soon as you feel that cold air but I don't know what it means in Oran right in the middle of the prison yard lightning spr it up you be big and us be small Lord and let us get safely to our next stop we got a surprise for you so our program here has done a lot of murals because they believe in therapy they believe in music in one of your podcasts you actually mentioned putting color on the wall right I first learn that you're going to be here today and I was invited by the administration to create artwor for you I felt really honored do we part through this so hold on [Laughter] this is my way to say thank you for being here with us today oh that's crazy [ __ ] brought l music to the yard at the Oregon State penitential baby we made a decision that if we were going to do a prison yard for the first time we were going to do it the right way I hear the train coming it's rolling around the V and I ain't seen the sunshine since I don't know when I'm stuck in Oregon State [Music] Prison if you love drawing if you love writing if you love poetry if you love listening to music playing the guitar I just pray that you put that P passionate to it and live it as much as you possibly can I wrote my first song behind the wall so it never feels better than to come back behind the wall and sing a song for y'all you have no clue how much this tickles my soul amazing I mean these guys just enjoyed the show so much he can just connect with anybody but especially guys like this this was awesome baby appreciate y my dog thank y'all baby how are you man oh this is dope they gave tickets out that's even more fun I was trying to think of that song you would Hast stack oh that's that old school [ __ ] and they need hope you know as he said and uh I think this afternoon you know gave him just a little bit of happiness and that was awesome to see I loved it you're incredible by the way man what a show it's incredible to see gave these guys a little distraction from their circumstance and uh feel happiness it was awesome thank you man hey your
