Just look at how hard he's working with his guide. Both together - the leg action moving at the same time. The released across the line. And Alolphe just holds on to the silver. But Ghavelas out in front by a metre or two. The guide yelling as he goes across, to duck and dip. He does that. >> That's great news for Greece, their first gold medal. It will lift them up the standings a bit. He did dip a bit early, but, fortunately for him, it didn't matter. What a result for Ghavelas and Greece. Quite a few Greek accredited people here to watch this performance. He's thrilled them all. >> In Berlin he ran 11. 47 in 2018. Remarkable improvement. Over the past few years. That just comes down to hard work and training. They pose with the sign. Ghavelas and his guide. A new world record. An extraordinary start to the evening session. >> Very relaxed now! >> There's something about the T11 category that I find endearing. It's so much work that goes in from both people. It's not just about one person, it's about working as a team in an individual sport, basically. What they've done and put into that, the amount of effort that goes into it, the sweat, the tears, the pressure. And the reaction tells it all, the enjoyment that comes out of it. Much deserved.
