‘Corn Sweat’ Worsening Midwest Heat Wave - Sahara Desert Rainfall Event - Cascadia Earthquake Record

worsening Midwest Heatwave here's what you need to know first of all do you even know what corn sweat is a heat Dome bringing high temperatures to much of the Midwest this week and they're being worsened by humidity that is at least in part caused by moisture being released from mature crops called corn sweat here are the key facts much of the Midwest is under heat alerts including Iowa all Iowa near the epicenter of the heat wave Monday hit 99 degrees in the afternoon with a heat index of 111 because of the humidity St Louis also reached 99 and topped out with a heat index of 104 thanks to the corn sweat the elevated heat indexes are being driven by high humidity partially due to Corn soybeans and other crops letting out moisture because of heat similar to the way humans sweat in high heat according to Scientific American corn sweat can result in some of our higher moisture values of the Year according to the Chicago based National Weather Service so now you know that the corn sweats here's the hail map from Monday August 26 21,000 impacted by hail one in or larger three impacted by Gorilla hail and most of that fell in Nebraska how do you like them apples the Old Farmers the US was above a 100 and most of our heat waves only a few States reach 100 here we're going to see one two three states in 100 here and maybe three or four states in 100 in the coming days this is the outlook for my birthday August 28th and you can see it's going to be 100 in Tennessee West Virginia and maybe Alabama and Mississippi it's always 100 degrees in Southern Cali in Arizona this time as well as Nevada so that's not unique pretty interesting Heatwave but not record-breaking unless it might be a daily record here's the full forecast dangerous heat across the Midwest Mid-Atlantic and Southeast severe weather in the Mid-Atlantic and the Northern Plains dangerous heat and humidity will continue for much of the Midwest and peak in the Mid-Atlantic including the national capital the 30th and we can see that 100 degree Mark may move up into Indiana and Ohio while Pennsylvania is 40° cooler in the middle of the afternoon so there is a extreme cold spell for the entire Northeast while the rest of the South is sweltering take a look at the high of 74 in Maine high of 64 in the Catskill regions that is insane and the heat basically comes to an end by the end of August Saturday August 31st it's going to moderate into the upper 90s for some areas here but cool over the Northern Tier and the rest of the country as we move into September and the heat shifts to the West take a look at this 100 degrees from Washington State all the way down through Baja haa now let's talk about the unexpected rainfall now being forecast for the Sahara Desert a unique rainfall event is about to unfold across the Sahara Desert otherwise known as the driest place on Earth the amount of rainfall might not seem large by normal standards but a large part of the Sahara will get well over 500% of normal monthly rain in August and September a September to remember M it's not very often that the Sahara Desert experiences these rainfall events they're very rare less than one per decade on average but there are usually a sign that something is perhaps changing in Earth's weather system indicating an unusual state of the atmosphere thanks to well none other than honga Tonga honga Tonga either die be washed away or their homes destroyed forever and there will be no rebuilding and so if you tell people in that region that one of these nine magnitude Quakes is inevitable many of them will move out of the region and start to leave and they don't want that so what this paper shows is that it's not these Cascadia ruptures don't happen every 300 years they may happen every 500 years so we have nothing to worry about for a few hundred years or more the only problem is an 8.5 rupture is much much more frequent than a nine magnitude and that is definitely going to be happening before or sooner than a nine and that will still be catastrophic potentially a com a deadly tsunami wiping out millions of people and homes in the future so head your bets and I'd get out of that area
