South Carolina VS Old Dominion real talk

[Music] hey guys welcome to realwood Robbie and today we are going to talk a little Sports uh most of you know I am a DI hard South Carolina Gamecock fan have been since the day I came out of the womb in Columbia South Carolina but I'm tired I am tired of waiting for the Gamecock to be an elite program and I'm going to tell you guys with the coach that we have now I've got my doubts even more this game yesterday South Carolina played Old Dominion at home at our season opener and it was I would to say at least disappointing um Lenor sers out of South Florence South Carolina uh he is our starting red shirt freshman quarterback who you know has had a lot of talk around him you know an elite quarterback out of high school um you know some people have been comparing him to the next Cam Newton Newton which I don't see um the kids are good he he's he's a good athlete absolutely good athlete and and the kid can run the ball but I'm going to tell you he's got to have some help put my glasses on here guys um South Carolina at the moment we don't have any receivers we have no receivers whatsoever we dropped a couple passes yesterday the north sellers had to run the ball in order just to be able to get uh get us close to where we needed to be um luckily Old Dominion fumbled the ball four separate times yesterday and we were able to capitalize on two of those and end up uh scoring but uh o Dominion there was a lightning delay uh right after halftime for about 45 minutes and half the fans ended up leaving the stadium half of the Gamecock fans ended up leaving because they were so disappointed in the Way South Carolina were playing we were playing that game that I don't think they wanted to come back um our own South Carolina fans were booing our or I don't know if they were booing the team members or they were booing booing the coaching staff but I'm going to tell you being there listening to that was absolutely something else I've never experienced anything like that before I think South Carolina fans are just tired of being not even mediocre I mean we just want to win games and it's very hard to win games when you know they say we got such a great recruiting class this year but I'm gonna tell you guys I just I don't know I mean we got rocket Sanders you know Lenor sers who supposedly going to be a good quarterback then we got Robert Robbie Ashford who was a backup quarterback now if you ask my opinion which obviously my opinion really don't matter but what we should have done is we should have pulled somebody from the portal that's already experienced and already a seasoned quarterback and we should have developed Lenor s sellers to be able to play at a later time um we are not going to be able to compete in this competition at SEC you look at the schedule we got coming up I mean we got Old Miss we've got Texas A&M we got LSU coming up we got Alabama out Alabama uh we got akan akan is not a bad team either and I'm going to tell you guys I'm not beating down Old Dominion they got a heck of a football team them guys played hard yesterday let me tell you they wanted to win that game kudos to those guys man I'm gonna tell you I'm I was absolutely impressed by how hard they played either we were not prepared are we're just not prepared to even play in this league right now because um you know you got uh we got some problems we got some problems we absolutely got to fix and I just don't know um you know Beamer it's the same thing every teleconference he has every post game he has you know we're going to put it it's just it's our fathers the coaches you know we got a coach better well you know listen you can keep polishing a turd and a turd is still a turd no matter which way you look at it so I mean you can keep saying the same thing every press conference you got until you make some changes I just don't know if Beamer's got the experience to be able to turn this team into what they need to be he's on his fourth year now and I'm going to tell you I believe he's on the hot seat you know I they were saying that we would be a eight- win team this year I gotta be honest guys if we win four games I'll be surprised the the competition we got coming our way I mean Kentucky blasted their game last week 33 to nothing and we play them this week at their home stadium so this is going to be a major issue for us it's going to be something that's going to be hard for us to win unless they absolutely pull something out we make some serious adjustments D Loggins our offensive coordinator I mean this has been his second third year I guess I think it's maybe his third year um the play Callum is horrible you know North sers was 10 for 23 with 114 yards yesterday you know it's a little over 10 yards a pass and we had no explosive plays whatsoever I mean guys it is one of those things where what are we going to do how many more years are we going to endure this cuz I'm going to tell you right now at the end of this season or middle of this season University of South Carolina's going to have to make some decisions that they want to pay some money out and get rid of beamer and get somebody in there who's going to actually make a difference I mean God man I missed the days of Lou Holtz and Steve sper I mean gez not happy with the way Steve spur left the team but I got to tell you he was one heck of a coach man he knew how to coach that football team and he knew how to get wins there's a couple guys on that team that that are serious about winning football games you got rocket Sanders I mean the the days of Alshon Jeffrey and Javon Clowney those days are over with we don't have those guys anymore but I'm going to tell you we have the poal now to be able to utilize it and we got to start drawing some talent in that's gonna that's going to help us get to where we need to be because guys I'm telling you I ain't worried I got season tickets to the to to the game this year I'm G to try to go to as many games as I can to support my team but I'm just being real guys this is real talk with Robbie if we don't make some changes and we don't do something something I mean we have got the get our obviously now our running game this year I think is a little bit better than it's been over the last several years but our passing game we have no receivers and we have a quarterback that can't make contact right now you know Lenor cers played two games last year and he was like four for four in the four passes he threw and they were rocket demanding passes that hit the receiver and and I think two of them ended up at a touchdown so everybody looked at those four passes they was like oh my God this kid's going to be great you know I thought the same thing guys but as with every year that the University of South Carolina plays we get our hopes up in the offseason the spring games the media pumps to team up says they're going to be this they're going to be that and then we get to the game the first game and last year we lost to North Carolina this year we almost lost the Old Dominion which is a sun Bel team you know not KN in the sun Bel division there's very good teams in there but you playing in SEC the SEC this is the elite of the elite you know I mean God not even to mention some of the other games yesterday that were just disappointing for for team fans I mean Clemson oh I feel sorry for Clemson I mean they got decimated by Georgia um you know you got uh you know Kentucky had a great day um you know you had several teams that had a good day yesterday um there were some tough games last night Alabama killed their team that they played I don't even have the teams in front of me but I watched several of the games last night when I got done but I will tell you this one of the hardest things yesterday is it was really really extremely hot um we were tailgating a little bit before the game uh me and a buddy of mine we had to go sit in the truck and cut the AC on because when we looked at the dashboard it was 101 degrees outside now we cooked and did some Habachi and this and that and other but I'm going to tell you it was hot yesterday so we went to the stadium sat there to watch the game you know first play of the game uh first three or four plays of the game we get downfield Old Dominion fumbles we capitalize on that end up scoring a touchdown I think we get uh uh seven 7 to3 or whatever it was anyways the game ended up being 23 to9 and I'm going be honest with you we didn't deserve to win that game if we would have did had the two defensive recoveries that we had that game would have been 19-10 I believe you know um you know Beamer gets up and says you know we're in the locker room with celebrating a win you don't need to be celebrating that game I'm telling you right now you need to be in there beating those guys to death correcting the things things that they did not do when they were on that field yesterday because you got some fans that are very disappointed and want your head Beamer I'm telling you I've tried to support you but and stand behind you but I'm telling you I'm starting to get weary I'm starting to get very weary uh because I am tired of being disappointed my friend I'm ready to have a South Carolina team that I can look forward to go watch every week to where maybe we get closer to a sec championship which that's a long way away I know that but man I've been die hard since I was like kid I'm 51 years old and I want to have a year sometime in my lifetime where I can sit back and say South Carolina was an amazing team man I got my year I got that one year that I wanted but yeah I mean just talking a little bit about our team with South Carolina I mean we got a lot of changes we're going to have to make offensive line needs a lot of work um you know I mean the you know it's Beamer the guy that's going to take make the Gamecocks into what they need to be I I just I'm getting closer to saying no I I just don't know this is my last year giving them opportunity I can tell you that you know Lenor sers is not ready he is not ready for this Elite competition in the SEC I mean you look at some of these quarterbacks man they they are phenomenal uh you know you 10 for 23 and your receivers are dropping passes left and right we are just not ready you know I wish we had a little bit more time for practice and and and scrimmage games but we don't it's time to start playing ball and we got to get it together we got to get it together guys you know I just wanted to give my two cents and kind of tell you what happened when I to the game yesterday but there was that lightting lightning delay as first time I ever been to a game and there was a lightning delay it actually let us leave the stadium and come back in but the stadium was sold out yesterday when we got back into the stadium after the lightting delay lightning delay there was probably only about 65% the stadium that was full people left the game on certain plays people were booing the Gamecocks which was our people that were booing them you know we got to support our team guys you know no good bad ugly you know those guys are working their hearts out on that field doing the best they can to provide a good game for us that they they can't be faulted for bad coaching a bad play calling so we got to support them we got to cheer them on we got to do the things we got to do to keep them going you know hey we might not be happy with Beamer and the coaching staff right now but time's going to change those things you know uh I know we're into the season now yeah we got a win up under our belt and it was a hard win but Kentucky next week is going to tell what kind of team we're really going to be I got a cousin that every year man we we back and forth on this Kentucky South Carolina game and I got to say this year I'm a little worried I'm a little worried buddy so uh you know we we'll definitely get together this week and talk about it but uh you know what I'll keep trying to update you on these Gamecock games and what I think's coming and try to provide you guys with some stats and things like that but I
