H good morning everybody hey um I know I'm really glad to see that everybody signed up for the fantasy football thing of course the most difficult task if you want to call it that coming up is the draft um and let me say before we start this uh I'm going to kind of go through a little bit but say first that if you do not participate in the draft as far as you don't log in and you don't actually start picking players um Yahoo fantasy football will do it for you and and it will not just be random players um you know the Yahoo will pick at the look at the league see the fact we only have eight or 10 teams or whatever it is we end up with um and it'll go through and pick you know the the best players that are available um in fact it might even have some more insight into players to pick than we do with our own knowledge um with the exception of Kyle of course and I don't know sure how how will is about picking players uh certainly with me I to be honest with you I'm I'm starting to be more comfortable with letting yaho pick my team um you know and so anyway if you don't want to actually participate in the live draft that's fine just just let it go and you'll end up with a you'll end up with a team anyway that's going to be uh competitive okay anyway how do you get into the draft I mean I just wanted to say that because if you weren't planning on picking your team there's no reason to watch the rest of the video um anyway uh uh in order to get into it you know just Google or Bing whatever fantasy football um and you can go into Yahoo fantasy football if you haven't signed in on that browser you'll have to sign in um and it'll take you right to your teams and leagues and it talks about the draft and all this and what you can do is you can go ahead and click that and get into the team and this shows you that our draft is coming up things of that nature um over here actually shows you the following roster positions these are the things that you will the PE players that you'll need to draft you'll need to draft a quarterback two wide receivers two running backs one tight end now wrt is a what they call a flex player it can be a wide receiver running back or a tight end um but it's just kind of an extra personal offense um you draft a kicker um these are field goal kickers not punters of course then you'll pick a team defense um and basically what the this the scoring from the team defense is based on things like sacks quarterback pressures you know interceptions points that they may score off of interceptions or fumbles fumbles recovered things like that but it's collectively as a defense you don't choose defensive players themselves all right um and then you'll choose um six bench players that basically you'll you know you'll need a backup quarterback you know if you have your your quarterback you know doesn't play on week six then you'll need a quarterback that does otherwise you won't have a quarterback on your team now that just means you're going to have you know fewer points scored and then of course there's two of them potentially on the injured reserve um but anyway how to to you can do a draft uh a mock draft or something like that just by going up here to this menu um going to draft and saying mock draft all right and now this is something that's just it's completely complely fake but um looks like we have a couple of them starting in 3 minutes I'm going to tell it to go ahead and join the next available draft because I want to show you kind of how the draft works all right now this one says it starts in 3 minutes so I'm going to pause the video and I'll pick it up in about 3 minutes okay um basically all right we're going to start here in about 15 seconds uh the basically what we'll see here tomorrow night will be our teams and just our league the order is randomly generated by Yahoo and basically the way it picks you know of course obviously Mayhem a pick person in the first round um and then it every round the order reverses okay so if you pick first in the first round you're going to pick last in the second round and vice versa so the people in the middle are always going to pick pretty much about the same thing okay all right it it actually takes it a minute or two to do this loading so I'm going to hit pause again well it jumped right to the end all right well um the draft is actually going to start here in a couple minutes but and this is the draft order and I'm drafting e in this case Okay um this is the actual uh the list of players that we people can draft from of course when somebody drafts a player they disappear um they're important things to look out for if you notice the um for instance here's a q all right the Q means that that player actually is questionable for Sunday um at least for the first round maybe because of injury or other something like that the Cal is um you know usually that's a some other type of injured list where they're not going to be playing um you know there there's a there's a a key somewhere for this stuff um you know this is an injured reserve list things like that so you know drafting players that are questionable or is risky but of course we're hoping that they're they're going to play that weekend they know that they'll they'll come back all right but the thing that you kind of want to look out for uh when you're drafting players if you're going to do it yourself are these fan points these are fantasy points okay and you can actually click on this and sort it uh these by fantasy points okay and basically these are the the uh the number of points that in this case it says projected stats the number of points that they're expected to score this season um you know and so what you can do is you can look at the 2023 and you know here if we look at fantasy points and sort them by that way Josh Allen you know the reason he's ranked number one uh this year is because he was number one last year so he's a pretty good quarterback to have and what you can also do um is go through and actually like in this case this is the offense in this case you can choose just quarterbacks so if you want a draft on the list that's over here you can just choose quarterbacks the first round if you want to do a quarterback in the first round um but if you've got some other players you got some other players that you want to pick okay um you know at the at the same time you know so you can either do it by the whole offense or you can choose individuals now one of the most important decisions you're going to make is who you want to have as your defense okay only one member of The League gets to pick a defense and you know so what you want to look at is you know the list of defenses um it's kind of funny it it shows Kansas City down here with 134 fantasy points um but actually last season Kansas City had one of the much higher ranking defenses than that um and actually I it since if you look at the fantasy points though you know the defense as a whole doesn't get all that many so while it is an important pick um you know what you might want to do is just go through and uh you know maybe pick it later on or pick it in the order that it comes up over here um but if you can get 300 pany points out of a single player okay now it's my turn I've got 30 seconds to pick a draft all right well I'm going to click Pat Mahomes who else all right so I just click on Pat and hit draft all right and so now I've drafted Pat Mahomes onto my team okay now one thing that you can look at here is you see these the draft scout suggestions all right these suggestions were picked um you know by the the Yahoo draft system there you know their Scouts and their team probably based on their fantasy points and a number of other things okay you know so for instance you know I really like Jose Pacho all right so maybe when it comes around to the next draft I'll see if I can pick him up as a running back but again you know what we're seeing at that point you know is the fact that I one thing to look at is this week six buy all right well if I have Patrick Mahomes out in week six and I have a running back and a wide receiver and all this that are all on the Chiefs and they're out on week six then I'm going to depend on my bench um that week and so you know offensively we could you can kind of put yourself in a hole if half of your players are not going to be playing that week um so anyway it's something to consider the other thing too is you know when you have a a team if you pick all your players from your favorite team um you know if one of those players or especially your quarterback has a bad day all of them are going to suffer because if your quarterback's throwing interceptions your wide receivers and your running backs aren't going to be scoring fantasy points um you know so diversification I think is probably is key you know the whole idea is to get the you know the best things that you can um you know my next I I am going to go ahead and film my running back spot I don't know but Cho is going to be left um because he's the the highest recommend we got Travis Kelce coming up as a as a tight end um he's another one that probably going to go fast I don't know if I will get there you know Travis Kelce was rated one of the highest tight ends in the League last year regardless of his affair um with Taylor but anyway that's kind of how the the draft works you just kind of go through what I would do is keep it sorted um if you pull up quarterbacks or whatever by fan points and and you know if you're calling up the different positions just keep this sorted so that way the best players are on top and you probably won't be go too far wrong um one thing that you can always do if you just get puzzled baffled or whatever is you can click this autodraft button and it will draft the players for you probably off of what you need on your roster versus what's available for the scout um in The Scouting things like this looks like it drafted Travis Kelce for me even though I hit autodraft okay um so anyway probably because he's one top rank tight end and he was available kind of surprised poo hasn't gone yet I think he's going to have a great year anyway um that's how the drafting Works once the team is full up um it'll go ahead and you know the draft will end and that'll be your team that you're going to use this year for the fantasy all right well if you have any questions text them up have a good day
