he's a pretty good receiver how about another one all pro uh the best ride receiver in the National Football League and star of the upcoming airing tomorrow on Netflix series receiver Devonte Adams will stop by the show uh we'll talk a little bit about Aaron Rogers his former quarterback we'll talk about Aiden as a gardener menu we'll talk about Pierce all of that excited about these Raiders and training camp let's go a big show Heavy Hitters Devonte Adams Chris Collinsworth we are back uh season 3 is here we've got our training camp tour inching closer and closer putting those puzzle pieces together is Carolina on the table do I want to go hang out with Luke Keeley after seeing how he was spinning around Christian mcaffry mom on the dance floor at the wedding and the footage that we forgot to ask him about yesterday cuz it actually was released afterwards yes I want to do that where else should we go let us know commanders for sure I feel like we're going to be on the Eastern Seaboard quite a bit but I got to go to Chicago and get my eyes on Caleb Williams who I've never met never talked to never seen him throw a ball in real life so we can't wait to do that um we're sort of putting on the table as everybody warms up after the big weekend you're getting back to work you're understanding your fantasy football draft is sometime in the near future so we're going to get you set on all of the things we're excited about for this summer in training camp and near the top of the list is Aaron Rogers going toe-to-toe against this jet secondary okay it's one thing to see these no look passes it's very cute very sexy very highlight reel we get it this is OTAs okay I want to see this pads on 11 on 11 Aaron what are you going to look like against this secondary one of the best right what is this group of receivers going to look like against one of the best so um yeah you're looking at sauce I'm looking at DJ Reed I'm looking at Michael Carter and Company they ranked top three in pretty much every category when it comes to pass defense Luke Keeley got me thinking about this in our convo yesterday talked about competitive environment at Panthers cap in 2015 what that was like as they you know went on their Super Bowl run you had Cam Newton and Josh Norman giving each other the business going at it incredible iconic photos um so when the do offense and defense are already feeling a kind of way In The Heat Of July and early August like that that does mean something a little bit um and Keeley said it was a factor in this Panthers 15-1 season uh and run to the Super Bowl so you know Iron sh sharpens iron isn't saying just for nothing um the competition will matter in Camp and it also makes things really fun to watch Rogers against a group of DBS that's as good of a battle as we're going to see this summer the guys that I just named and it's going to give us a shot to see what this receiver group is made of as well so those are the that's the East Coast sort of addition but let's head up north um staying in the AFC East and uh you know all eyes are on Buffalo and what Buffalo has added by subtracting you know I'm watching the bear season 3 and and you know the uh the head chef of the snoody restaurant uh comes and he writes subtract to Young bear and says put less do less there's too much sauce on the plate there's too much going on so when you look at the Buffalo Bill situation you can make that comparison and say will they be better will they be better adding getting rid of things and dealing with what they have subtracting no Gabe Davis no Stefan digs who's going to be the winning plate of Michel and star food up there in Buffalo and that guy who's highlighted here with you know the 80.2% reception percentage is the guy I believe steps up into the void and he's who I'm paying attention to his Dalton concade uh this is Josh Allen's boy he was targeted a ton at least 90 times across the entire league um with those percentages uh and and he's right up there there's clearly a trust a chemistry that's developing between the two 241 targets to replace in that offense with the departure of Gabe Davis and Stefan dicks 241 so you got to think that we're going to see this relationship continue and Dalton to step up even more and get fed this year we asked dton when we talked to about his connection I think this is back in uh early spring and here's what he had to say it took a while actually to kind of get used to it because I feel like every quarterback's different um but with Josh it was just you know having that in game experience and just figuring out you know what he likes to do and he'll throw the ball it doesn't matter where the hell you are he'll throw the ball across his body cross the field so uh it's uh still a work in progress just like spending time with him getting to know him and uh just creating like that friendship I think that's the biggest thing is just you know having a close friendship with all your teammates and uh the more that continues to grow I feel like the the stronger our onfield chemistry will be Dalton sitting outside of a leon somewhere and some City at 7 in the morning taking the time to talk to us we love him and to hear Dalton refer to that onfield relationship with alen as a work in progress is I believe why they uh are going to be successful they want to be even better and it's sort of wild considering what they accomplished together but it's also made me feel confident that this thing is going to go to that other level this might be the number one and probably will be the number one option in the passing game so we'll see how the connection looks up in Rochester with these two very eyes best crowd loved it so much cannot wait to get to Buffalo for training camp and if you're wondering what this means from a fantasy football perspective fantasy football perspective for those of you out there interested this is sort of crazy we got to get this out on the Twitter sphere Jordan because he's currently ranked seventh Dalton concade at tight end over on fantasy pros that's a serious value in my opinion based on what we just talked about the connection the fact that he might be the number one pass option like I like there's 241 targets here to make up for um also interesting note Sam laora huh he's sitting there at number one over Travis Kelce right now so the tight end position looking especially loaded this year and I thought that was awesome Hamilton you dug that up Sam lorta huh would you take Sam lorta over Travis I would I would think I don't know like Travis Kelce all of a sudden is going to be a value I would never reach him in any draft I've ever been in yeah I mean lorta did outscore Kelsey last year if you look at it but we know Kelsey had other things going on with the injury and you know the Chiefs had some hiccups offensively it's hard to look at what he did during that playoff run and how motivated they are to get that three repeat and think anybody's gonna be ahead of him this year it's it's hard for me to get as great as lorta is I love lorta it's hard to put anybody above Travis Kelsey for me right now I give like the cute connection and chemistry and all of that about Dalton King Kad and he's obviously the best on the board um I would take him I mean you just have to the way you're going to have to R even though it's loaded I guess maybe these guys will fall Mark Andrew is always great but I do think likele is going to play his way into that there's so many mouss to feed so as far as volume like how can you not go um for this cat Trey McBride is my my pick you know that I want Trey McBride I think we hyped him up so much he's going fifth I'm FY like we clearly gave him the up in Adams bump because I was obsessed with him thinking and that's going to happen and he's and he's going to get better and he's going to develop chemistry uh with with Kyler so I kind of feel like I'd still want Trey um but can K would be a good pick is there something about his game that you like it's the way he plays the game that you can sort of highlight for me from like more of a football perspective he's just he's really smooth as a route Runner and I love that they can move him out into the slot he doesn't just have to play a tight end because they still do use Dawson knoxx as well um but with conad versatility they can have knocks in there at the traditional tight end and still go with more of a spread set because he can get out in the slot um obviously really sh handed to as he showed with that that reception percentage and it is like hearing him talk about Josh In that clip that you showed um and how Josh will throw it no matter where you are if you're open or not and like the fact that he still caught 80% of his targets with as wild as Josh Allen plays I think that says a lot too so I think um you know it was a solid rookie year for him I really do think like we could see a thousand yard season out of dalt this year we'd love to see it and they're going to need it especially trying to compete with Aaron Rogers and all those guys down in New York I cannot believe training campus so close um we are going on a bit of a tour as you see our group chat keeps um lighting up with new destinations I don't know where I don't know are we trying to go I feel like we're goingon to go to more teams than not or something how are we GNA make this work I did have I did have some like private jet dude reach out to me I did and say let's talk about what this would look like that might be better than the van I'd be I'd be all for that I was all for the van and then I all I remember last year I was all for the van and then at one point I was at the airport so what happened at one point I was like I'm done with the van it wasn't at one point it was after literally the first trip in the van is that true we were at the Jets yeah we were at Floren park for the Jets and there was a whole mess of construction and maybe an accident going out it just took it took us forever to get to Rochester uh for Bill's Camp so you're like you know what not doing this again we're taking a flight to uh to to DC uh for Commander camp I gotta you know we should ask Collinsworth if we can borrow his jet yeah it's a great you know Chris what do you need the jet for you know you just stay stay home he's lives the best life ever he like goes in a goes in a cave for all of the off season and all of a sudden you know he he he appears and reemerges just in time for huge games uh on Sunday night uh football so we're going to take a short break here we're going to get the collinworth jet I'm glad we solved that problem but we have a whole other can of worms to open what are the story lines you need to know going into preseason action into training camp and of course into the 2024 season our favorite guys back okay ham do you like how I slipped a bear bear reference in there Hamilton okay I hear the be season 3 is quite polarizing true I'm a little bit behind right now I gotta catch up because especially we have a uh we have a bear guest coming out uh tomorrow who uh cor Corey Hendricks plays sweeps excuse me yeah the actor that plays sweeps is uh coming on Somalia I believe yeah all right I'm excited very excited yeah now the first episode was definitely polarizing um that big look back through his history as you said going back have no people have no attention spans people want yelling and hot action and I like love the slow episodes I'm sitting there crying watching them yeah and you need some of those because the rest is so stressful yeah nobody I know that works in the food industry can watch that show without like PTSD yeah um are you watching that dragon show what is that dragon show yes yes am that dragon show like you don't know I just hope everyone knows that for about five years on good morning football everyone watched Game of Thrones everyone would come to work Monday morning ready to talk about it and Hamilton made fun of us all yeah as collec would leave he would leave the morning staff meeting not wanting to know about Game of Thrones I mean you think even shrigger was watching Game of Thrones like and Sher would never watch anything like that you wouldn't watch and now all of a sudden you're reading the books you're like I've read all of them yeah you're you're I'm all in sick P okay okay this will be amazing we have um Devonte Adams on the show coming up we got Chris Collinsworth right here excited about that let's see okay cool I know you got to go work on um Devonte you can scram my friend see you there's the you link bye okay let's see okay thank you um but it's a go okay what questions for Chris guys this is like my my favorite show of the year we have Chris on let's do it okay my next guest needs no introduction but here he is not only a three-time Pro Bowl wide receiver but an Emmy Award winning I believe SE 17 Emmys is a lot Chris 17 where do you put them uh around just around there's one in all those drawers back there we of course are excited to see you is this the worst set you have of anybody I mean this is so pathetic so I'm just going to get up for a minute this all right so back in the day when I first started doing this thing yeah you had to get the tapes to watch the game so these drawers like this is the Eagles and this is the Redskins and this is lions and it looked like you store like body parts in there right and now it's it's like it's it's ridiculous looking and and I'm my wife tells me you got to fix the thing up you look so unprofessional the lighting is terrible the lighting of the door is better than the lighting of me at this point and I've got I've got I'm trying to you know do something but it glows in the dark where I don't want it to glow in the dark now so I'm just gonna do the interview like this I just I wasn't ready for a Collinsworth breakdown of of your uh surroundings but I'm here for it and I love it I feel like the next interview I just want to talk to your wife because we always end up talking about her and I just feel like she's the real star of the family you and Jack can scram oh I'm just tell if she would do it now she does not like to do it she does not want to do the but she would like you she would she would enjoy it because you're sort of the queen of the of the Queen City no no that's not true the princess of the Queen City you're too young to be the queen you're the I know I don't know about that Chris I'm I'm also doing the doing the show like this you know covering all sorts of things over here on this end uh tell me about your summer vacation because you're saying that you have bad lighting but that is a tan and you're just lying to me so yeah I'm doing all right uh down in Florida we just got back and uh got to hang out on the beach down there a little bit and and uh but mostly now just chasing the the I got grandkids now so that's that's like you take them to like the water parks and the and the slides and so they try to kill you in every way possible you know you're ropes and down these slides and you know and then you got to run because you can't let them out of your sight you know so then I mean it's like you got to go chase them back up the thing and we went 400 times down to end of the water so that was that's how I got taned that is your summer vacation and I absolutely I don't think anybody has a better life than you I really don't it's good stuff it's it's good stuff I've got two more grand babies is on the way so a grand total of five my my one daughter will have four that lives in Orlando and my other daughter who's here is pregnant for the first time and so we're pumped so they'll be they'll maybe Ashley's gonna have a baby too so wow congratulations Grandpa absolutely I love that big love to you and the family and by I mean by 2028 La Olympics you'll have a full flag football team it sounds like of grandkids that's right and I'm bringing Joe burrow and Jamar Chase with me and and I'm gonna coach them up that'll be good are you I heard they wanted to play that's great I I didn't know they would want to play I think that's cool although I if you ever watch flag football it's it's legit it's like a different sport I I don't know that NFL players are going to be able to just come right off the field and go win at flag football I mean they have plays they have crazy plays they they throw it up in the air and they tip the ball from one guy to the other and there's I it's it's a little bit of a different sport it'll be interesting to see if they just can sort of roll a ball out there and and do great is there a position that you think translates better than others like is there I'm curious about that with that what that would look like as far as the rule changes like what sort of NFL player would make a great flag football player well I you know the Tyreek Hills the quick guys I think are the ones that that are going to be able to do it but I know there's nothing wrong with putting LeBron James out there and throwing the ball up high and letting him go get too so it's I think it's going to be really exciting though and I I do not think it's a layup because of the uniqueness of the sport I I I think somebody could put together a team that has just phenomenal athletes and they do these weird plays now the NFL guys should be able to win if they actually want to play in the thing but it it it's intriguing to me I would love to be the announcers for that I I was about to ask listen you haven't worked in olymp I've never brought it up before I would love to do that though i' I just looked I said oh I wonder if he's going to Paris to work you're not you're just like the one NBC employee that isn't that doesn't have to work the Olympics 2028 you better get your butt to LA to be calling flag football yeah but I've got I've got a tough assignment I have the babysit Al Michaels and Bob Costas at the Olympics so yeah they they they're bringing them back they brought back AI Al did you hear about all that tell me so Al is doing for the Olympics an AI version of himself where they do the highlights the following morning and Al is voicing it but Al is not voicing it it's AI Al so he and and I go you are a genius I've never seen anybody smarter than you he's gonna get paid so much money to have his voice on the Olympics when doing zero work he will be doing as little as I'm doing and not getting paid and he'll be getting paid the man is an utter genius but he does have one of his billionaire friends that we get to go on his yach because we're gonna go to Italy afterwards and go hang out down there I gota work on my tan a little bit and so he's got a billionaire guy down there we get to go hang on the yacht okay well I'd like to be invited to that thank you very much and while you guys are gone I'd like to use your private plane to go to my training camp tour thank you I'm glad we figured that all out ail how how soon is it until you uh Lobby for that in your deal so you can make more trips to Italy that sounds pretty good AI Chris is pretty cool uh coming to a show near you on PFF is all I say on that W what yes yes just I we I saw my first have you heard your voice in AI yet have you I'm not interested at all I want to go live in Jackson Hole and not deal with any of these AI things chat GPT none of it I don't know I have why is it different no it's it's it's unbelievable so all you have to do is have somebody write out we'll do this for you PFF will do this for you great so we do all these game scripts and storylines and all these things about the the thing and do it in your voice right yeah and you just stay home so they just put put a picture of you up there and you stay home and you got a whole show and it sounds just like you if you haven't heard it yet you got to do it you got they they they did a thing of me doing like PFF highlights in in my voice and you sit there and you go you you can't even believe it I mean it's and it has it's not like taped it's not any part your voice it's like they put old audio tapes of your voice in a machine and then comes out of it's you like all the the different stutter for me all the different stutters and starts and stops and all the the different exactly how I talk it's it's unbelievable you when do you hear Al Michaels do it you'll think it's Al and he'll be sitting in the swimming venue with me cheering on our USA so I'm worried about what will happen to the shoe industry if we all just uh you know work from home and you're just Barefoot for the rest of your life you know because you don't have to go to work what will happen this oh when I stood up I was like oh gosh I didn't think about that I I'm like I'm like one of those guys doing the Nightly News in their underwear kind of thing you know I'm there it's not good wait so is there a world where we hear AI Chris and AI Al calling football games again um I I doubt that I doubt that but I I do think that you're going to begin to see like because right now you've got all these people who don't want their voice stolen right singers comedians entertainers like no you can't use my voice that's how I make my living you can't do it and then somebody like Al Michaels is going to come along and go you're gonna pay me okay you can use my voice no problem and and you know I was talking to all about it and it was like he goes it is about 98.7% me when I listen to it you know there's always a couple little things in there that you can do it but it's going to be it's a strange New World out therey slope I don't I don't know about that and I I don't think Tom Brady's using any AI so while you and uh Al and Bob are swimming in stake freets and stake tartar at the Paris Olympics doing no work and some of you getting paid for it and hanging out with billionaires Tom Brady also hanging out with billionaires but also preparing to be in the booth what is your advice has he called you how insane and intense do you think he's being um is insane and intense as he always is and yes he calls what does he ask I he he should have asked me about the roast I'd have said stay away from it what are you doing man what is that all about holy cow I mean I can only watch that in like 30 minute segments I'm like oh my gosh he got bombarded no Tom's a great guy he's gonna be great I mean who who our whole life we've been trying to anticipate what Tom Brady was thinking when he came to the line of scrimmage and got right now we're going to hear it right and he's studying hard he's working on it he's done a thousand different you know practice games and I was like Tom just just be you you know people know who you are just be you go on there and talk about football and have some fun and and uh he'll be great is you're making it sound easy Chris what you do is not easy well I mean for Tom Brady you know I mean you know who was like I'll say this uh John mackenro when he started doing like John mackenro is one of my favorite announcers period of any sport of anything because you knew going into it you were gonna get complete and utter honesty right you knew because John played the game that way he screamed at the referees he screamed at the fans you were going to get whatever he thought and that's all any of us can give you right I I think the danger in any announcer is when the the audience knows that they're pulling punches right they're not they're protecting somebody they don't want to hurt a friend they don't want to say something that's going to be offensive and it's not completely and utterly what they really believe that you know what they really are thinking if they were sitting on a couch with a couple of friends and what they would say it's something different than that and as long as Tom can break through that barrier you know and just really say doesn't have to be right I tell people all the time I'm not always right I go don't expect that I got to be right but you're gonna hear what I'm thinking if you were sitting next to me at a ball game or sitting on the couch watching a game with me you're going to hear what I was thinking in that moment and that's all you can ask out anybody and you get somebody as knowledgeable as time as Tom who's been as successful as he's been it's going to be great when you started if you could take yourself back to the the Chris Collinsworth that was green and getting reps and all of that what was the one hardest part for you whether if it was like a small little thing or a timing thing what was the most difficult thing um that I sucked doing it it was it was impossible I so this is a true story the first game I ever did was in Cleveland and so I'm up there and David Michaels is the producer Al Michaels brother who's a great producer and so he comes in and he knocks on my hotel room door and he goes how you doing and I said okay I'm just trying to get the names together so I've got one of those like manila envelopes is that right where you just fold it open you I wrote the the off yeah I'm just that's what I got so I got I wrote the the offensive names on the top of it and the defensive names on the bottom and I flipped it over offensive names on the top and the defensive names and he get you guys he looks at and he goes what's this and I said well this what I'm going to use in the game to call the game he goes oh my God you know he makes some gutal sound that I thought he was gonna puke all over the desk he goes oh God I can't believe they gave me another rookie to do this with he's just growling and he calls Bradshaw who he had worked with oh wow and Bradshaw had these big magnificent boards and spaced out and be able to do all these different things and you wrote the names and so he he fedexed some to me and so I got to use Terry branch and I did it for the first three or four years that that I was doing the games but it all happens so fast I mean when when you are calling a game so the play-by-play guy Mike too calls the play and and so then he finishes up and so while he's finishing up the play I will call down to Rob Highland on the talk back and tell him what I see or what I would talk about and then Rob has the CH the choice of either putting something really cool that that he saw on the screen and then he's got to tell me what that is or he's going to put up what I saw and then I get a chance to to talk about that and you've got about three seconds to communicate it and about 10 seconds to say whatever you want to say right and it's the same time Mike may still be talking and sometimes he will ask me a question or say something to me but I've got the button down so I can't hear what he's saying and I'm talking to Rob and being able to so that part of it it's the mechanical part of it is really hard if you haven't done that before and so that's that's the the trick to the whole thing is you know not what does Tom Brady or Chris Collinsworth know it's how quickly can it get communicated from me to him and listen to him and get the replay up and get it back on and somehow try and circle the right guy without messing up and then you gota if you don't have the numbers memorized right now you got to look at boards to figure out what the number was and who made the tackle and what was his name again and you know so it's it's it's easy to screw it up I just say that it's easy to screw it up with how fast it goes and it's good advice and and you know we'll post this Tom will see it I'm sure he'll call you in five minutes to discuss um in 18 different ways with 19 different questions how annoy do you get like how pissed do you get at the mcvet of the world these Maniacs going no huddle all the time uh it makes it harder it does make it harder and and it really turns it into a little bit more of a hockey game you know how like you do you watch hockey I don't know if you watch game game seven of the hockey was one of the the last best seven minutes I've ever seen my it was unbelievable and I don't watch that much hocky but in the little bit I do I love that one um but you know how like the playby play announcer really kind of controls it and then there's a little break in the action and the color guy jumps in right so when they get in the two-minute offense or they get to the hurry up you know there's not so it's like Mike mik mic mic and then you jump in and do something and then might you know and there's an incomplete pass or or something like that but yeah it's when you go up and pton Manning was running a game and he was doing I was like oh this is like getting the night off tonight man pton Manning's never gonna take a break the whole day that's amazing okay I want to ask you about some NFL topics here we we've covered hockey we've covered water slides let's let's talk about you know I you were coming on and I said as a man who tries to keep the same denim jeans in rotation from 30 years ago we have to ask Chris about the Joe burrow fashion what did you make of Joe Burrow's appearance at Paris fashion week I mean look at him it's the man has no back to his suit now that that is but he's a good-look guy right I mean Joe burrow Jamar Chase those are good-look guys so when you're a good-look guy you walk down the street and people go oh that's really fashionable that's really cool if I walk down the street with that look right there they'd put me in a home somewhere like there's certain PE you gotta have like you could pull that off you could go to a fashion show and your sense of fashion and you know and people would go wow K is really cool look at that why not you that is because that it does it never has look that's why look at oh look at the hair is that hairthe so that was my one moment with a perm not kidding you I I have had the straightest hair my entire life and at one point A buddy of mine Turk shoner who was our backup quarterback got a okay he was he was sort of thinning out too and so he got a perment he goes Chris it's unbelievable you wake up you take a shower you don't have to use a blow dryer you just shake your head and you're fully dressed and you're ready to go out I'm like really oh that sounds like a great idea I'm gonna do that so I got a perm and that's my perm right there and and but I did I made him mistake I did a commercial while I had the perm and the commercial it's a bank commercial it is lived forever it has just lived forever and my family brings it up at the the least opportune times all all the time so it's not good I mean that will live on an infamy as will Joe Burrow's shirtless suit Joe burough is everywhere all of a sudden this usual quiet uh character at least as we know him in the NFL in front of the cameras he's really doing a lot of marketing he's doing a bit of a media tour here and he he was saying yesterday that he's forgotten he's been forgotten by NFL fans after the year that he had filled with injuries uh and then he has he's going to give everyone something to talk about this season what do you make of that good I want him as mad as possible I just I want him irritated I want him upset that that people don't respect the Cincinnati Bengals and don't respect him and and uh and then go get them I mean Joe burrow when he's right the Cincinnati Bengals can play with anybody right I mean we they give the Kansas City Chiefs as many problems as any team in the league um and but it it's the clock is ticking you know they're already uh starting to unravel that team a little bit because you know they have to pay Joe and they have to pay Jamar and they going to have to you know so there are going to be some some people that that have to go Joe Mixon um had to go this year you know they have to save some money on on some different things so um yeah it's but when that guy is right he is really fun to watch and and I can't wait to watch a Cincinnati Bengals their problem is they got to try and slug their way out of that division yeah that division they they were nine they finished last and they had a winning record last year you know and Joe burrow missed whatever it was six or seven games at the end of the year so so you yeah be good uh it's a tough division he missed a ton of games you keep saying when he's out there when he's out how worried are you about his durability uh not I'm really not I I think that he's had some bad luck um he had what an appendex in me one year he had the knee injury he's got the elbow thing now I I and they've done the right thing by going out and getting uh more help on that offensive line Trent Brown Orlando Brown you know if they could really Shore up the outside edges he does a pretty good job of getting the thing out of his hands um so it'll be interesting to see you know exactly what they're able to pull off here this amarius Mims who they sign and drafted is there just isn't a bigger human being on Earth than than some of the guys they have playing tackle for the Bengals right now so yeah I'm hopeful I'm hopeful that they they end up having a good year despite the fact that everybody in Cincinnati thinks I hate the Bengals but I know I'm always trying to help you out with that as the princess you know I'm always trying to like come on let's let's get and you're saying you don't you're not worried about the durability you think that they'll be a force if he's out there and if he's healthy but the way you're talking about it do you feel like this is the window is it this year and then the wheels come off a bit how you know I guess I'm trying to get your focus on how important and pivotal this season is well you know it just makes draft picks all that much more important you know you just if you have a great quarterback that's that's the quickest path to being a Super Bowl Contender so let's let's not argue with the fact that Joe's making 50 million or whatever it is and jamar's gonna make 30 to 40 million whatever he's going to make because you got to have those guys you gotta have those players on your team but when you do that now you're back to really significance with the rest of the team you have to have young players that can fill in the Gap and play right away you know they really they lost some people in the secondary lost their two safeties a year ago and it hurt them you know and now they're they bring back Von Bell and they bring over Gino Stone who had the big year with Baltimore and a lot of interceptions and so those guys and and these young cornerbacks have got to play you know they they've got to get in there cam Taylor Brits of the world they've got to end up having big years and and and uh and then when they get to where they're going to get paid $15 million $20 million then you have to make another decision about how do you go young again it's a it's an interesting mathematical equation figuring out how to put together a football team yeah and speaking of math equations burrow took it on in part of his media tour and he was talking about the proposal for a potential 18 Game season which affects you of course and you are uh hobnobbing and gallivanting and water sliding across the Great water parks in Florida uh you know basically burrow said that you know he'd like two by- weeks Pro Bowl moved to the middle of the Season around week 13 18 you know 18 games is a real thing that I'm sure you know that they're talking about could that format work your thoughts um it was a really interesting comment I I'm assuming like everybody else eventually we do get to 18 games I wouldn't mind if they tried it to begin with like I let's say that we we're in 17 Game season and obviously the games season already played out but I have always loved the idea of an Allstar break in the middle of the year like I I really think that would be or or whatever that it they may want to call it but basically the entire league is off you know that we just take a week away you play half the games or you you can't play half anymore but you play sort of half the games and and then you get a chance to sit back sort of evaluate that let the guys get healthy and then they make another run you know there's such a to me there's such an advantage or disadvantage as to where they place the by week and you know if you get it late in the year versus you get it early in the year and the the whole I I just I I personally I would love to see an Allstar break right in the middle of the Season everybody gets the same amount of time off we come back you're playing a full schedule of games there's nothing better than on Sunday morning sitting around watching you you know whatever your favorite version of Direct TV Sunday Ticket you know YouTube now and that whole thing so it's it's really fun for me to see the entire league playing and and plus the schedule gets so thinned out to where in the teams the star teams you know the best teams get thinned out to where all the prime time spots that they want to fill don't always have Prime Time games when they they carvon out games so there's my many complaint there for U for your show I have one last one one last one for you JJ wat's been out of the league for a bit now uh there were rum rumors of a comeback I talked to Nick caseri about it he didn't shut it down they said it was between him and Deo then we get this photo yesterday does this look like a man who's gonna come back is this a comeback training tour he's doing does that look any different than the picture you put up of me with firm I mirror images Good Golly I I uh maybe he's GNA run for governor of California here he's got a little that schwarzen look going right now so you know JJ God bless him I I think he can do anything he wants to do look at that maybe he'll come back there we go this is who wore it better that's it I would say you did saw you do that I saw you do a who wore it better with Vince Wilford I can't believe that took a lot of guts because Vin is strong and those good sounds good where's Devonte coming to us from Los Angeles sure he's how exciting Chris Collinsworth I liked him saying that mcy makes it harder for him I don't see anything in prompter there's it premieres on Netflix tomorrow July 10th of course my next guest is the best receiver in the NFL six-time pro bowler three-time First Team all pro and one of the Stars if not the star of this new Netflix series receiver coming out congrats on it Devonte Adams always good to see you good to see you good to see you are you excited about this I feel like you play things a little close to the V you let your work speak for you what made you want to be part of this experience it was a little bit of a different one I it definitely took a little bit of convincing and encouraging from some of my my peers and uh my wife and a couple other my friends but it seemed like a cool opportunity man it's a little bit out of what I like you said I don't usually have my face in the camera unless it's you know I have my uniform on solely so to be able to be a part of something like this where it's a little bit of a a peak inside the you know behind the scenes and um you know the my private life which I really don't give a lot of access to even on social media so to be able to let people know how I deal with my kids um you know my family and um you know a little bit of what goes on in the behind the scenes at the Raiders facility a little bit um seemed like a cool opportunity so couldn't pass up on it it's going to be amazing I Love the clips that we're seeing so far what do if you were to guess what's the moment uh the Devonte Adams chapter of of Netflix receiver that is going to be talked about the most um well it depends I think it's it's it kind of goes two ways right because you got the people that are very fascinated in my personal life and then you got the ones that are more you know fixated on the the football life where there was obviously a lot of drama this year so it's going to be some some good TV either way um you'll get the full uncut version of me which is um how I wanted it to be I told these guys I said look the only way I'm doing as if this is 100% just going to be you know me and no no gimmicks no no funny business I don't want you try to set agendas anything I'm I'm G get on the sideline I'mma talk how I normally talk if you don't like what you know you don't want to put that on the Netflix uh series you cut that out but all you're going to get is just me 100% the whole way and you know if any other guys want to get on there and they you know they want to be more Hollywood or TV you know they can do that for themselves but my portion is going to be all about me and you know staying authentic and true to who I am so um I think it'll be good I think everybody will really enjoy it Netflix receiver guys everybody can check it out starting tomorrow streaming on Netflix it's very very exciting uh and I hope there's a lot of girl dadding like you're a Hall of Fame girl dad and so to watch you and your beautiful wife Devan and those girls and all the work that you put in at home I'm most excited to see that but I also hope that we have eyes in the locker room for this one take me to this play please walk me through it one of my favorite from last year 42 zip on the Chargers all already in the third and you went for the throat yeah yeah we we did we did at this point well funny part was the the week before this we put up I want to say zero points we lost three to zero to the Vikings and then we had a short week and then had to turn it around and I actually had the flu got the flu like two days before that so that was the the flu game for me and just like MJ put up 63 when we went out there and put up 63 and had a little bit of fun in uh in the legion so it was it was a good time it was the double pass Aiden to jacobe you for the score you were up like I said 42 zip you're saying it's your flu game eight for 101 and that score how responsible do you feel for the entire Chargers team giving up on their coach in this game well I don't know if it was just that game because if you look at the numbers um and I'm only doing this honestly because I think it was a little Trend a little bit ago where you know few few of the social media Pages were posting some some funny stuff of you know when the schedule was really was releasing so they posted me and then like a trash can or something like that the the Chargers did so I thought about responding on social media to it and and you know being funny there but I figured it'd be better to you know just beat their head in in real life and continue doing it the way you know because my first game against them I don't know they clearly forgot like 10 catches 141 yards and a touchdown and then the next time that same year it was like 177 yards and you know two touchdowns I think it was that game so I just wanted to kind of remind them what they've been going through as it pertains to playing against me um and uh hopefully the the people that made that post cuz it's not the player's fault they didn't have anything to do with the post but this is directed strictly toward the charger social media page please keep my name out your mouth and show some take no notes to the so charger social media team on that but you're gonna wow see I feel are you in this new era where you're just letting it Fly and opening up more because I was not expecting thaton I feel like this point of your career where you're just letting it letting it fly I am you know I'm I'm good for you they treat me like an old man so I'm going just act like CU you know old men they don't think they just say whatever you know whatever they feel so that's how my grandpa is at least so I'm just trying to be the old man that they want me to be well good luck week one at Sofi Raiders taking on the Chargers and one of two bouts uh at least uh which will be amazing that was one of my favorite plays you had an insane game uh and a lot of it had to do I think that was like a moment that you needed you're saying following a game that wasn't great and then Antonio Pierce comes in amid all the ups and downs in the drama and I really noticed in your sound bites there's a real change and how you spoke about not just him really about everything that started to evolve for a happier version of Devonte Adams which makes me happy what is the one quality about Pierce that you value personally the most um you know I there's there's a lot but if I had to choose one I love I love a coach that really knows how to coach each individual player you know sometimes coaching everybody the same is not what you should do you got to coach them fairly but you treat guys you know according to you know how what they've what they've earned and and what they deserve and also you know what what makes them best as a player so if you have a guy that's going to you know cow up if you yell at him then as a as a being a good coach sometimes you got to kind of tweak the way you approach them and and do that and he he's really good with that so um really open communicator and doesn't let his pride get in a way and and it makes it really easy to to work with him and and figure out Solutions which is why we were able to bounce back you know after putting up a goose egg against the Vikings and then play a few days later and go up and put up 60 some OD points so when you have a coach like that that's that's willing to listen and and work with you it makes everything a lot better yeah you were a really vocal supporter of him getting the gig I'm curious about how important he is to your happiness if he didn't get the job how would you be feeling about the 2024 Raiders well I mean I wouldn't be feeling as good as as I do now that's for sure you know I he's he's a the type of guy that I I really enjoyed you know speaking to working with so um you know I basically tried to do everything that I could to make it to where you know the front office didn't have any other choice you know I talked to to Mark Davis we had dinners and sat down and and I expressed to him how much it meant to me and how much it meant to the the rest of the team and the other the other part of it is I really didn't even need to do all that I just wanted to make sure that you know I didn't leave any any you know stone unturned I just wanted to approach it come in and say hey I'm fully stamping this the the proof is in the pudding you see the difference of when we made the change um how the players feel how hard they played you know the the results you got on the field everything was was you know million times better so I was really just trying to put the icing on the cake just to uh you know with the help of some other players you know Josh was was vocal about it as well um and you know obviously he he's no longer with us but he was the same you know Max we all kind of took the same approach where you know we we kind of said look if if he's not going to be here we not we're not sure about our future here either so just to make sure that it was it was taken seriously and you know thank god it worked you know Josh who you mentioned no longer there but he was in the news like he's always in the in the news after saying something but he told the media about a text that he sent asking if you were thinking about returning to the Packers saying yesterday it was a joke uh what would you like to say yeah that was true he did send that over and I mean Josh is one of my best friends man he's he's a he's first of all he's hilarious people don't know how funny he is it was definitely a joke but it was one of those jokes where he was serious because he definitely would like that but I told him you go ahead and hold it down and um you know I'm I'mma hold it down over here I don't think I'll be coming back over there you know never know what's going to happen if who whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa that's that's why I said if they me off then I I mean I there's not much I could do about it but you know I'm I'm a raiter so nobody got to worry about that what was it like watching this Green Bay team at the end of last season because you spoke a few months ago you said you don't regret the decision in leaving and you shouldn't you can't look in the past uh but I also think if you were on that Squad they would have beaten the ners last year yeah yeah well maybe I've I've been on that I've been on the squad with Aaron Rogers and we didn't beat the ners a coule times you can never be too sure you know is it's hard to say I I love to think that you know me being on the team would have would have helped that but um you know it was a lot of fun man it was it was fun beating them obviously early in the year that that meant a lot to me unfortunately I just hurt my shoulder the week before that so I wasn't able to contribute the way that I would have liked but um you know it was it was definitely good getting that Victory um good watching Jordan kind of develop over the over the course of the year because when we played him pretty early you know he was still kind of having some some hiccups and trying to discover exactly the best way to do it for himself so to see how he ended up at the end of that year and you know gaining all that respect which is welld deserved um you know I'm really happy for him you can see it now this offseason um you know the the approach he's taken talking to some of the other players he's got a lot of confidence going into this this upcoming season so it's going to be fun to watch him you mentioned Aaron Rogers so I got to ask you about him he was looking healthy slinging it all over the place and ot's no pads no you know come we'll see how it goes uh are the Jets in your eyes a Super Bowl Contender with Aaron Rogers I mean any team that that has Aaron Aaron roders and you know especially a defense like what they have um not to mention the play The Playmakers that you know running back receiver they they got a little bit of everything man they remind me a lot of of the Raiders honestly so when you put a quarterback like him you know under Center you know any team is a any team is Super Bowl Contender so um not sure if that answers the question but I feel like Aaron Rogers can turn I'm not going to say any teams because I'm getting trouble but trying not to trying not to let it fly too much today but um yeah he's got the ability to turn any team around so definitely um having having him present this year it'll it'll give them some good chances hopefully they don't win it because that'll mean that I didn't but um I'm wishing him nothing but luck you you two are are boys a lot of love for each other you went to the derby together we see the pictures on the Instagram are you telling me he's not getting your ear and saying hey I want to play with you again oh he's in that ear that's for sure he's in he's in the ear but um you know it's not as it's not as easy as it you know obviously we can get together and talk about the the old times and potential of doing this and that but like I said I'm a Raider so and he knows that so we uh maybe in the next lifetime I'd like to see it we'll see when that next lifetime comes in the meantime you have like a million records I wanted to us give love to as we end here this season might be the year of Devonte Adams you're the star of receiver on Netflix which airs tomorrow but you're also five receiving touchdowns from cracking the top 10 all time you could crack the top 20 in receptions and with another thousand yard season you can pass Calvin Johnson on the all-time receiving yards list which is most important to you well I'll take any of them you put me in those playoffs man just give me give me a chance you know to be in the dance and yeah I'll take of them hopefully all of them because I mean thousand yards five touchdowns I mean I'm averaging almost 10 a year on my career so I think if I'm healthy I should be able to you know get five at least and um you know as long as as long as I'm contributing enough to us you know being able to win football games yeah for all that's believe it or not that's what I attribute a lot of My Success to is just being locked in in the moment um you know having my focus on scoring the reason why I want to get in the endzone so much is because that means I'm taking care of my piece and you know I'm to do that col Miller is not getting paid to score touchdown so I am so if I a bunch of times then that that means that we're doing pretty good job on offense Devonte you might score five touchdowns against the Chargers week one let's be honest here right I might we'll see and I hope you do you have a Hall of Fame career you're a Hall of Fame guy Hall of Fame dad all of that we're going to be seeing uh more of you which we're so excited to get a peek into your life thank you for doing
