[Music] Tokyo 2020 I missed out on the spot I guess you could say by one Arrow I use that as Focus to keep moving forward and if you win or you learn keep training harder and better be creative get inspired and never give up we take those lessons and we learn and we keep pushing forward I started arery after the age of 40 and here I am sitting here right now having an interview because I'll be competing in the par Olympics I'm air I'll be competing in the Women's Open compound archery I started archery after my son was swimming at sney Olympic Park Aquatic Center I saw a sign that said sney Olympic archers there's a for fun day you can go try for the school holidays I said the parents can try as well so I tried it with him and I got the bug I've always done Sports uh since I was 20 I've been doing martial arts and weight training as well so my passion was always weight training and that flows into the strength and conditioning training that I do with with archery and with uh Institute of [Music] Sports I'm training in the morning I'm going to work I come home pick up my son do our things and then I'll sit in the car and do my work I guess as as a mom as a parent you find ways to work around things you just get creative so Mom what are you for there's some days when it gets too much you know I'm working full-time I'm looking after my son I'm doing the training we've got all these commitments and sometimes it gets a little bit overwhelming so it's just I allow myself those few days to just sit with that you know I'm struggling a little bit and then I remind myself I have to practice what I preach you know be creative get inspired never give up keep going I was diagnosed in 2012 all my neurological system was just firing off completely and they said look we can confirm that you have multiple sceris I was quite low for a while and I thought no I can't stay like this I have to get up I have to get moving I can't stay in this mindset I work for New South Wales Health pathology I love what I do there it gives me a real appreciation for life going to work every day and looking after your child as a blessing in itself and just a day to day but as soon as I get here and I start setting up the bow uh regardless of what's going on in the outside it's a calm for me if there's anything I wanted to my son to take away from this whole journey is just be your authentic self give life your best give it your all find something in yourself that you love and enjoy the [Music] journey thing I'm looking forward to the most is catching up with all the archers that I see on the international routes it's just having that comaraderie when it comes down to being on the line against each other you're in competition mode just keep things Cool com collected just follow our process [Music]
