NFL 2024 NFC South Breakdown: Eagles Pressure & 53-Man Roster Details

a numbers game somebody's going to make it and somebody's not but what you do does not define who you are so yeah but outside of that man listen how you feeling over there it's another great day you know got hard knocks coming out college football kicking off the NFL season officially here it's a great day in America it's time it's time man we on a cuss pre-season is done allason games are in the book The rosters have been cut down we ready to roll man fantasy football is is heating up got a few drafts this weekend man it's it's going to be a good time it's going to be a good time so uh vanilla football is over so the vanilla defenses van off you never see on Sunday that's over that's over it's over football you see from the NFL will be live and direct and real all the marbles the mares all the all the chalupas yep yep yes indeed yes indeed so yeah man we gonna get into it as always man doing NFL High tchs we're doing NFL headlines we doing every any everything and everything NFL every day all day every day all day good good to see D what's going on buddy how you feeling so yeah man we gonna kick this off right as as ceremoniously as we always do so we going to jump right into our first topic of the day as voted on by the lockdown defense family as yet again um there was a virtual tie this this week on who they wanted to see regarding uh NFL divisional breakdowns so I had to flip a coin and uh we ended up landing on NFC South so we got we getting into NFC Divisional Breakdown - NFC South the NC South in divisional breakdown this weekend we going to talk about all four teams uh talking about exactly what we feel like this division is going to uh finish at or how it's going to rank out we what they did in off season you know we can even talk about the 53 how the roster actually looks you know going into week one um and give all overall grades and ask that age old question the most important question about what we feel like this team is headed what direction is going to they're going to go and what's going to hold them back so uh first and foremost we got to go top to bottom man like I said as we bring back IND divisional breakdown as we do it week to week you know we going to start with top how you finish top to bottom so if you finish first you go first if you finish last you go last so it is what it is is so starting off with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Buccaneers now the Tampa Bay Buccaneers uh Eed out a a a narrow victory in the division last year uh I think they had two teams as well finished n and eight but uh they definitely edged out I think by divisional record uh they uh they brought back Baker Mayfield and and a few other they resign Mike Williams they got a lot of things going on to B is still holding on uh you know had a few Rock years after that Super Bowl um since Tom Brady left but um they went out and got Grant Barton in the first round um but I want to say you know for my perspective from my purview that this team looks a lot different than that team that made the Super Bowl run and that typically happens in in the league of free agency nowadays you know it's very hard to keep everybody in house I mean I think the Kansas City Chiefs probably been the only team in in large spaces been able to keep their guys in house for the for the duration of their run so uh you know this team looks a lot different now I mean sha Barry's gone Devin white who hurt my heart they kept Devon David but got rid of Deon white I found that interesting uh Caron Davis has gone through trade ironically enough Shephard is gone right I'm just G say that I see Stella Shephard got brought in but he got released today so he's no longer there Bryce Hall they did bring him in did keep him uh they replaced uh they replaced their their uh I think they replaced the I say replace car Davis with Jordan white hit although he's a safety so yeah they got us turnover here they got some turnover here so I'm going throw it over you first Kurt um you know tell me exactly you know how you feel about this uh about the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in their off season and uh and you know where does this particular run of draft picks and freeny land for you oh man well you know the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are coming off being removed a couple years from a Super Bowl and then not not only a Super Bowl running it back and then seeing the the greatest of all time transition and man died you said transition use that word Loosely listen out the lead you know push-ups and saying that he can make listen you got 300 million reasons why you the football should football field should never see you again sir right see you again and then seeing the the the resurrection of Baker made Field's career so much so that uh Baker uh actually became a quarterback to be talked about right he found a home in Tampa Bay he looked efficient he looked you know like he was leading the team but then defensively as you saw the losses you know to see Devin white and if anybody knows during the Super Bowl Rong run and years after uh I don't know you could find two better uh linebackers besides uh Devin white and um David Devonte David I don't know there was two pit bulls that were always looking at everybody else like they were stake right and they didn't get off the field sideline to sideline Shaq Barrett was a uh key contributor Carson Davis you know to me I thought the uh Tampa Bay secondary was under looked I mean both they had tall extremely tall Corners along with uh you know one of I think one of the better safeties so to see who they've lost to see who they've gained and then coming to this year along with their their draft picks in this Division I still have them sitting at nine and eight I mean Mike Evans is probably one of the most underrated constants at receiver he just missed walking 1,00 yard yeah and you know Rashad white surprisingly is I think a underrated running back but even with that I'm still in this Division I I don't have them any better than 98 I'll put them at a high C uh low b as far as draft and moves made it's it's lukewarm it's it's it's hot cocoa that's sat out it's still still drinkable but is it's you know you're like uh it's it's it's room temperature right now what your phrases is warm Jello-O is that what we talking about it's listen it's it's slightly it's what's what's the word I because I learned a new word today it's tepid it's tepid it's tepid Jello-O right now you know what I'm saying you know it's it's not cold and it's not warm it's it's right there on the C like you got one minute to go ahead and eat it or you about to be upset yeah but I don't think yeah I don't think they've done much to me uh of of a lot of teams it seems like they just running it back with who they have and you know I put them middle of the pack uh in this division okay okay T you talk me something too I listen I've known this man for over 12 years of my life and I've never heard use the word t listen listen you CH new new new things on the horizon new changes happened I looked that word up I said I hope I get to use it today and I did it's t okay okay all right f with me f with me I'm good with it I'm good with it I don't know so it seem like I'm probably us it to me so I'm will go with it yeah D too many too many ice cubes in the ramen there you go there you go yeah there you go man listen that's a good one that's a good one I look that myself but the sound listen I roll it because sound like you good usage like you know even if you're wrong you sound like you're right so confidence state of confidence you good moderately warm lukewarm T yeah so again from my perspective I'm I'm I'm a little bit more critical on the Tamp bucers I think that you are um I believe that there are a team INF flux um I was very tepid I'm a re run it back idea B Mayfield to a longterm deal Luke War see d that's a good one I was very temping myself on on they signed bigger beefs their franchise quarterback rather than going out and get them a young guy um so I was very temper on that like I said again it doesn't uh it doesn't move the needle for me as much as somebody else they could have gotten in my opinion but um yeah I mean again having Mike Mike Evans there he's definitely a guy you know no matter who was throwing the ball he gets a thousand yards you know so shout out to football listeners out there listen him no matter what Mike Evans does he gonna get he gon get you he gonna get you a good thousand if you if you're a standard le guy he gonna get you those yard yes yes so you know not every day is is a walking running machine that that's six fo five and can jump out the gym there's that so I would say I would say that uh you know you do have that particular thing going for you but uh o line since Brady's been gone has been an issue um R Jensen retiring for them is is an issue I mean I always harp on you know it's one of those things one of those Hills I'll stand on out on the fact if you don't have a good Center on your o line you have issues right J being gone they did play Tristan worth I give him credit for that you know they drafted him they paid him they can keep him is their left is their booking left tackle um but then they got some shuffling going on and I think we really saw the rockiness and and the and the unsettledness of their offense with their running game especially M rad white although he's very you can be very productive it just didn't it didn't flow well from a run game perspective it did it did have to throw it a lot they had a thought it a lot and uh and I just don't think that's bigger mei's game I think if they can figure o line out and get get them you know a nice fluid Run game to go along with uh Rashad white Bucky Irving who they drafted in the fourth round from Oregon and Sean who I'm still high on from Syracuse really good back from the area I think they could they could take a lot of pressure off Baker for Mayfield and he can really work um the ball down the field I still think they avoid of a solid pass catching tight end you know hadn't had one since grank and and OJ Howard left um so think there questions here offensively and defense when it's Tod B's team makes me even more of a head scratcher for me because you know they they got some turnover there like you said lante David who's the Elder Statesman is is still there um you know I think that him being uh the Elder Statesman and they haven't uh replaced Deon white yet as an issue uh they still got issues up front I think their inter D line is solid and they got Clyde cany from uh from Pittsburgh was supposed to be mini Aaron Donald we had seen that yet because he's banged up last year v vea um but they retooling their Edge you know Shaq burb JP P those all those guys are gone so they got Yaya diabi who's hurt hopefully they'll have him back for week one he's the main State guy and they brought they drafted Chris Bradwell from Alabama uh Dallas Turner's other counterpart from last season um so what he hit they still got joy tro Trion Shena who who hadn't hit yet who they drafted three years ago to to replaced jpp who would never hadn't really done anything yet so and you know I don't know I mean outside of having you know uh Antonio Winfield who is one of the more Premier safeties in the league I got a lot of questions on this defense you know can they cover can they get after the passer can they you know play to run well from a linebacker perspective Lon Davis the only guy of noteworthiness is there you know it's a lot it's a lot it's a lot for me it's a lot of red flags for me to say that this team is not going to you know take off and be the class of the division just yet I'm not I'm I'm not sure of that iiz it's a lot of questions they need to be answered and we haven't answered them yet now only way we GNA really answer them at this point is start playing real football and I would say the first four weeks going to tell a lot about this team you know can Baker Midfield up his play can oine jail can they run the ball that's offense can they stop anybody period on defense that's gonna be another thing can they rust the passer because what you don't want to be able to do and and not have El leite corners and not have not having lead pass rush you can have one or the other or both you know play defense in this league these days and and I have question whether or not they have either so yeah I I I don't I don't see it as being a walk-off I'm going to R run it back and win a division type deal at all I don't see it I don't see it but you know it remains to be seen so uh getting into the depth chart of the of this of this group like said Baker meld is the starter rad white Chase Edmond Bucky Irving Sean Tucker Mike Evans Trey palman Chris Gman the main receivers there they got jayen M McMillan as well I'm seeing what he's goingon to do ster sh was on here at the moment but he got cut uh yeah o line again um I think I like Cody Mock and Luke gut for my sleeper uh group from two years ago they the right side of this line now um they drafted Grant Barton but they also have Rob Hanley who's the air air quote starter right now so is Grant Barton who they drafted the first round even gonna play at this moment is the question so right got a lot of questions got a lot of questions there got a lot of questions there and defensively like I said they got more questions I like the interior D line with with with cany and and V vea but that edge man I got questions I got a lot of questions I don't have a lot of answers have a lot of ANS again they got great safeties but they got I actually I would argue they got three good safties because Kayon Merryweather is a sleeper for me last year um I think he's going to play well um in that three safety group with him Whitehead and Winfield but again what are the corners going to do um you know you got Zion McCullen who was not you know it's not a household name I know I know who he is he's a good athlete but KY cover they got Jamal Dean who hasn't been you know blowing people's doors off as far as being shut down corner so yeah you just really got to see exactly what this team is going to look like um and to going to need to get the maximum effort out of these guys in order to be competitive in my opinion y yeah so we'll see how things go but um overall grading from a grading perspective what do you give them um you know from top to bottom what their roster looks like in the 53 what their draft was what do you give them C huh c c c yeah low B uh C they just like I said they're they they um they're middle of the road right now um with what they they are and I also found out that tepid means low enthusiasm so they're extremely tepid because there's not a lot of enthusiasm okay for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and they can be easily forgotten they are um Hey listen when I find a word and I can actually use it the right way listen I can't tone it down I'm G run with it right right I'm gonna run with it but yeah um when looking at the Tampa Bay and what they've done they are one team that you know when you look and they are easily forgotten because you do have to wonder you have to double check like what did they do and who do they have and who was on that team I mean once you get past Mike Evans offensively you know you you little shake you even have to like who's that quarterback and like you said they haven't had a true legitimate pass catching tight end since grank uh I I can't remember the one tight end k ottoman or something like that yeah he was he's up and down but he's been injured right and so I know that you know the one the the other receiver Chris Godwin he was promising then he got hurt you know and so on outside of Levante David and Antoine Whitfield Jr you know you're like who and like you said the one defensive tackle was promising but he's been injured so you know it's very it's very middle of the road with Tampa Bay and that's why I give them you know see I'm G I'm gon withhold D's for other teams but okay you know they're they're they're they're right there at C yeah I give him C minus like I said this is what I underscored earlier o line chemistry run blocking you know defense a lot of questions so I give him C minus again they didn't they didn't make me feel warm and fuzzy as regarding I guess you say the quote unquote moves that they made or lack their up so yeah I'm gonna give him a c minus we'll see how things go but uh yeah I indeed David grah was having a good brother how you feeling so yeah man um see you'll see exactly what they do but I think we we both give them an average grade for their offseason and leading up to the week one of the NFL 2024 so the age question ageo question for me is how bad does to BOS need Beaker Mayfield because I would argue that Tod BS investing in bacon Mayfield is going to be hit or miss when it comes down to whether or not he has a job next year um I think play plays well and he uh takes his team um to um maybe a little bit a tick above where they thought they might be in 2024 that will secure his job for for the near term but if they if they go down you know in this or you know they don't finish you know where they were this year or um slightly under 500 I think he's out of there I think he's out of there I think that again the Tom Brady run is is is over and they haven't recovered from that and again you decided as a as a as a as a coaching staff that you wanted to have Baker Mayfield as your guy and if it doesn't pan out then we have to find somebody that Mak gonna make a pan out so um yeah so how do you feel about that what do you think that um what do you think that uh how how valuable is be Mayfield to to B's future listen a quarterback's always valuable to a coach that is wanting to keep his position and his job because uh the coach goes many times the coach is going to go according to the according to the quarterback especially in this instance there are instances where new quarterback you know they're going to keep the quarterback over the coach I think in with this even though they they've Reed Baker Mayfield and gave him a contract I think Todd BS is in in in in parallel with Baker so as Baker goes he will go and so the better that Baker performs the better the more secure his job is but if we see them falter it's going to be a struggle because Todd BS is a defensive coach right right and and you've always stated this and it it's true you have to be great at what your Forte is and if you struggle in your Forte then that highlight everything else and so with the defense losing key pieces and not being in a certain place he's going to need Baker to help him assist him to carry that team and if Baker's faltering then it's like why are we keeping you as a coach the days of a coach being somewhere four or five years to get it right yeah that's gone is it's gone you you you getting two years maybe and Max three and then listen they're making they're making changes so yeah David yeah as you see in the chat Liam Cohen is the OC right they had Canal right went over to uh Carolina right yep yep he did he makes me think of uh you know my man Liam niss oh yeah I got a unique set of skills right that's quite gonen to me but you know how I get there so yeah yeah yeah we we'll see I mean new OC you know again you know him and Baker are gonna have to figure it out um tabo's gonna have to get you know a lot out of this defense you know with not a whole lot of talent to to make it work you know and it's def this division as we want to get into in the second is G is getting better so they got the hands full they got the hands full so we'll see how things shake out with them but um moving on to finish second in division the New Orleans Saints they Eed out a nine and8 record Saints last year um under the Tage of uh Dennis Allen and Derek Carr as their quarterback um did Derek Carr get hurt throughout the season last I think I feel like I thought he did okay yeah so he was he was banged up a little bit throughout the season but um he squeaked out a 98 record despite all that and I think that was L A Lot on the back of their defense because uh you know that's what they've been at calling car the last three or four seasons since Drew Brees hasn't been under the center for them so uh they doing some reshuffling um they went out in the draft and got tiis fuaga who I'm very high on is a very nasty and and very uh tenacious run blocker um went out and did that and ironically enough they uh shuffled their line from what I read [ __ ] is actually going to play left tackle and they got moved Trevor Penning to right tackle because he was struggling over left tackle last year so getting a lot of penalties and and and just couldn't block anybody for that all that matter so they they went out and did reshuffle that um and uh you know kind of hopefully they you know solidify their tackers their booking tackle room with that move um they lost Michael Thomas obviously they that contract that massive contract they were under kind of hamstringing hamstringing them in their Sal cat woes is gone Andre Pete who was a a draft de for them they lost him in for ad Toc as well as Lonnie Johnson but they did go out and get Cedric Wilson um to replace uh Michael Thomas in the sense uh they went out and got Chase Young from the 49ers via the commanders and they got Willie gay from the Chiefs so uh uh I want to say it's they they didn't replace everything they lost but they did they did some things I they got o Lan in the draft they going to start uh they got got a linebacker um they got a they got wide receiver Edge rusher so overall I think that um that I think they definitely uh are are trying out there that's all I'm gonna say you know just to not steal your thunder as far as how you feel but I think they're trying to make make it right in New Orleans so what is your take over exactly what the New Orleans things are doing in this offseason and how it's going to look in 2024 I think they're I'm right there with you I think they're trying right I think they're looking to turn the turn the corner uh after I think they had High Hopes with getting Derek Carr Michael Thomas coming back you know off injury uh with Chris olve you know Kamara Alvin there you know looking at everything I think it was a hope and a promise that they were going to make more noise but due to injury and you know some other extenda circumstances with the team it didn't pan out the way they desired right uh and so they had to regroup and I think overall I think they've done a very good job when looking at what they've done draft and Pickups I think they've retooled nicely they had young talent and I think that was part of the situation last year too there were they were playing a lot of young players and so the thing about that is listen winning is a mindset as well as much as you have to break losing learning to win what up cool cev learning to win is a mindset as well like you have to learn how to win and that's not something you just wake up and just say I want to be a winner that takes work that takes practice that takes habits that takes you know coming together as a team and so I think with the new additions with things that they done with the draft I'm I'm GNA be hopeful I think Chris alive is definitely in the next tier of young receivers who have who has possibilities I agree they do have some speed uh they still have Mr Gadget guy there they have a young upand coming pass catching tight end who again I would put if he stay healthy Jawan Johnson if you watched some of those games he he's played well right best fre in some of those games yeah yeah and you go and look at that so all things considered Cam Jordan is still there he's still one of your more consistent pass rushers and if they can get if they can get Chase to give them performance and to pair with Cam listen they have Breezy Breeze I forget Brian bre with bre at defensive tackle who was a high-rated player who has a lot to play for if you know his story his sister you know you know he's playing for someone greater than him he's come he's still coming back from a knee injury uh they still have one of the best linebackers even though he's you know been a couple years as a vet but he's still sideline to sideline so overall you know Dennis Allen is going to coach them defensively they're going to be in there I'm I'm I'm high I'm high on on New Orleans Saints and like you said that rebuilding regrouping so yeah I'm GNA give them to me they're they're B+ right now uh that I'm looking at them okay well again again for two for two on this one I we got a SL slightly different takes because I I have some I I'm not going to call it breaking news but I have some news to share with the group that very interesting and very uh for me telling that there could be a tro season for the Saints has Michael Thomas real quick has Michael Thomas been picked up no at all not at all about even after the 53 man C he still haven't done it nobody's picked p Guard Mike can't get on a rot us change the Twitter handle can't get on the roster yes he's not I wonder is it an injury is it injury situation has people concern I mean yeah or you don't want to go down that rabbit hole because you just look he's been hurt and hurt and hurt every time he get plays you can't rely on them so why spend the money can't guard Mike man can't get picked okay back over to you for your breaking news they called him the slant God is what they used to call them yeah yeah yeah yeah all right breaking news breaking news what you what you got for the people there's a lot of Big Time chatter that Spencer Rattler is challenging Derek C starting J oh I can see that I can definitely see that let's can can I say this give me 30 seconds to say Derek Carr when they when you hear they got a bleeding heart for somebody I got a bleeding heart for Derek Carr I get it I really do I got a bleeding heart he's a great dude if you know some things that have happened he stood up for people right he's just a good person oh yeah and I think at one time he was in that next tier and he just been put in some bad situations and we talked in the green room he just got a funk on him and I just really hope but listen I watched the game I saw what Spencer was doing listen we're in a money game too right so I called him the I call him the modernday Brock py when you can get a quarterback on a deal for cheap that allows you to build your roster you take advantage of it and let's not forget Spencer was a five-star coming out of high school he was he was uh going into the year before he lost his before Caleb outplayed him for the position he was a Heisman he was in the Heisman conversations right I think he went through a humbling period he transferred went to South Carolina but quiet as kepel when you go and look and you listen to people talk about him at South Carolina and quarterback and watch his quarterback play his last year when they talk about staying in school is a benefit yeah even though they didn't quote unquote whenn when you look at what he went through that perseverance that that resilience he had to build and look at what he played at South Carolina his final year yeah listen he got he had he had to drink some Crow for a second and I think that made him better but if you watch the game I watch the games the boy can slang that damn football man he yeah he can and that's the issue and that's the argument because again to your point there a money game you know if I'm not getting a production out of Derek hard that I could likely get out of SP a rattler and he's younger I'm I can invest more time and energy into him you know because again you argue that you know looking at the numbers if it's if it's I'm out playing him you know and he's cheap cheaper a lot cheaper trade him somewhere and get something back for him why not you know so I would argue this you know and and that's the biggest most glaring issue that the Saints have and people are not really paying attention to it but I would argue that if they start off slow and office is sputtering and they feel like they can get to spark out of using Spencer rer as their starter and they can ship D car before the trade deadline they just might do it so that leaves the team unsettled from offensive perspective because yet again you know you you have a sporting offense with Derek you find you trying to keep Spencer Under Wraps you know you don't want to rush him out there too early but yet again he's been killing in practice he's been killing in preseason games now granted it's against lesser talent but yet again if he seems as if he picks up the offense he's fluid with his uh his deliveries and and progressions and he's making all the right reads making all the right throws he's keeping the ball safe it's kind of H it's hard to argue that he wouldn't uh threaten uh he wouldn't threaten Derrick's job so that's a serious concern if you're starting quarterback and and and and Dave is right I mean rler could could end up playing so if he could if he could ultimately steal a job then if you have unsettling at the top position then that's going to that's likely going to lead to a lot of lot of rough rough times for the 2024 season and opinion but the the bright part about this and I think we all kind of talk talking about this in between each other is that their defense for me it checks a lot of boxes I think they got two highly underrated Corners in Marsh lore pul on the Debo I think they got a highly uh underrated uh front seven period like I said they went all got Willie gay they added Chase young to that already Stout dline you know with Cam Jordan other Statesman but yet again you know he's going to groom that young PPP and Chase young most likely so so Brian bre like we said who's a who's a dog in his own right in interior so I think that with de Mario Davis and Willie Gabe teaming him up in in in in three down packages I think you gotta really really honey badger can't discredit him at all I really think they got a lot to to to uh work with defensively so they can they can definitely gonna keep you in games yeah the real the real question to me is whether or not the office can keep up you know again they have Alva Kamar you know uh they said you know can he stay healthy that's an issue um you know they got they got I mean got kend Dre Miller they got uh the kid from uh the Lions uh what's his name why's his name escaping me right now rash Rashid shadid or something that's no the the running back Jamal Williams yeah yeah so he was injured too last year right so I mean you got three guys they are all banged up I mean to the point where they were in preseason running Tak some Hill in the backfield yeah yeah very high on kend Dre Miller though but thing he on the field so to for you to using utiliz T Hill as a running back that means you're concerned about the overall health of that room yeah period you know so again so what does the o line gonna look like now I do think the o line is gonna be okay if fuaga can out the left tackle I think because they Eric McCoy is a STAR Center and Caesar Ruiz is is a studed guard only question really got is left guard but they if if pinning in in [ __ ] work out in the o line they can protect Carr or Rattler whoever is going to be the guy I think that they going to be okay up front it's just a question of what they can do in a run game and how can they deploy this ball to these receivers because I think you're going to see equin St Brown rashidah and Chris Al be the main three guys and then I think Cedric Wilson Gonna Fill in four I do like at Terry he's a big tall rangy jump ball type receiver but he's he's a year two guy so it really it really just you have to hang your hat on whether or not you're going to be able to move the ball and put up points if you can do that the defense going to hold you down and they'll be fine but what are we doing a quarterback that's question that is the question so yet again what we want to do what we going to do so you know but again like I said I'm very high on his defense you know Granderson Saunders you know in the middle Isaiah fos who they drafted I forgot about him Payton Turner who they drafted I forgot about him they they not only got solid guys up front veterans they got depth and young guys be right behind them Cho the bit ready to play you know P P Warren is who's who's a very underrated linebacker on top of having Willie gay and Demar Davis they got three good linebackers up front you know so they got really good solid front four they got a really solid uh linebacking group I love their Corners I don't love their free safety but I love their strong safy in uh in Tyron Matthew so the only really real ho they really gota you know find a place for is is that free is that free safety spot but outside of that and they got your boy Kool-Aid koola mck's here so got is is the third corner so defensive they should be all right it just whether not the offense can move that's the only thing yeah you're right they have to start fast the Falcons are definitely lurking we going talk about them in a minute because I think the Falcons are are are ready to fly they ready to fly that's for sure they are definitely ready to fly so you know from a grade perspective what do you give them you know top to bottom you know freeny draft trades whatever what what do you give them as overall grade I'm I'm G give him a a solid b a solid b as a overall grade I gave the other moves that they made you know a B+ but with everything considered I'm I'm gonna give it a solid B especially if Spencer Rattler pans out to be that quarterback in the way he's looking with that and it's strangely enough you don't see many offenses that are two rde receiver based right when you look at like Detroit last year they was three wide receiver base the Saints are almost what we consider traditional quarterback running back fullback two receivers tight end right right but yeah I'm I'm G listen uh the Saints also defense quet is kept solid very solid very right there you know at that 15 level so if they can stay and they they're going to keep them in games if the offense helps them out the Saints may be able to make some noise yeah they just got to figure that out if they figure that particular quarterback situation out and that person they pick who they pick hit yeah they play good football offensive side the ball they're gonna be fine but I but because that's a that's unknown for me and the quarterback position being unsettled I give him a c minus I mean c C+ I'm sorry C+ yeah I give him a C+ because again I don't know what the offense is g to look like but I think I'm definitely going to hang my head on the defense and to say they're G to keep the score low is just whether or that you can outscore the opponents that you're facing right that's really the boyss down to all right so the question is how high do Dennis Allen's coaching seat if they don't do well is he fired does he make it to Christmas make it to Thanksgiving does he I mean it's R it's rumin out there him and toos are both got it's it's nothing it's listen they it ain't tepid it's more it's more it's more of yeah yeah warm tea tet is five if we a looking if we're looking at a traditional stove top right tet is five I'm going to put him I I will say I feel Todd BS is on a hotter hot seat than Dennis Allen only because when you look at Dennis he he could play the injury card cuz he he you lose your starting running back you lose your starting quarterback that was last that was last can you use that that's why I said last year you could use that because of the injury bug that hit you across only Phoenix is hot agree the injury bug that hit you you can't you can somewhat use that here's where I say he's sitting at about a seven M the jamus Winston situation when jamus Winston called an audible and they didn't kneel oh that and they got Jamal Williams the the the the touchdown uh that people brought that up and that does speak to this you look at some of the top tier coaches how many coaches that we know that are in a good place team would have done that if they would have called Victory formation to see the team to see jamus counter that and it's funny enough we're g to you know that was the Saints and the Falcons we're going to be talking about the F Falcons and the coach that got fired was Arthur Smith from that out of that situation but to see that makes me think that as a GM and as a owner you can look at Allen and what they call it lose faith that he has the pulse and control in that locker room because if your players are doing that where there's smoke there's fire so if you can't keep your players to respect Victory formation and they're making an audible right to say we're going to do this that's listen that's Mutiny at that point that's treason yeah yeah so I'm I'm gonna put him if I I had to look at the from 1 to 10 Todd BS is at like 8.59 Dennis Allen sitting at a 7even to seven and a half I'm g go I'm G Go full on eight and a half for Dennis you gota win this season you gotta oh because you look at that he's been he's been in place got the claps he got he got he got he been in place since Shawn pyton has been gone and he hadn't done anything since he definitely got a STI he burning then he hot that's his business that I Ain got to do with that you need to go to the clinic coach got him hot right now it's definitely it's definitely the seat is hot for sure yeah you know and it's one of those things you're not gonna sit that long if if you don't do well early that's why I say you gotta you got if you got a issue with quarterback on the issue with your quarterback on your hands off quickly and live with your live with it if it works out if Derek C gonna be your guy ride that to the wheel falls off and and hope that you can be above 500 at the end of the season if Mr R is your guy roll with them trade Derek car and and hope this spensive rer can save your job because I would argue this that if if if you roll with Spen rler and he hits he can stay because you because you seem like a genius but if you roll with Derek Carr and you and you falter you're fired I think that's where he lands fair enough fair enough okay all right so moving on to the the the hot team of the of the NFC South the Atlanta Falcons you Falcons know I don't think there more team in this division has been more in the news in the last uh six months than the Atlanta Falcons have been you know starting with the you know idea of getting rid of Arthur Smith bringing and Kurt Cousins you know had a solid draft you know a lot of Rumblings about what they did about draing Michael pennick early you know bringing Rohan Morris in back from you know that uh the older uh regime days I think the last time they went the Super Bowl he was on the staff so you know so they got a new coach got the GM is is is seem to be locked in there and lock step with each other so you know it's it's everything seemed to be you know you know all Point all signs point to up when it comes to the uh Atlanta Falcons you know they finished seven to 10 last year but they made a splash in the last couple of weeks outside of the Soler agency period that they had in the draft they had they went out let Matt judon fall in their lap uh for a third round pick and then they went out and signed Justin Simmons who uh who was arguably one of the the better uh you know turnover machines when it comes down to play in the league you know at his rip or age of above 30 so yeah I'm really really really feeling like this the Falcon team is is as they call as they coin their phrase they're ready to rise up as their phrase I think the Falcons are ready to rise up so what says you I know we covered this a couple of weeks ago and in a second because it was just Hot Topic but what do you feel like this the the Falcons are headed what's the direction you feel like they're headed I would say they're trending they're trending up how far I'm I I'll say this I'm not as high on the Falcons just yet as coach is and I only because I'm I I still have some hesitancy right I was left with the bill on the blind date so now I I'm I'm still nervous right so you know I I'm I'm still I'm still jittery to know if the the they going to show up and and and actually have a good date right and not stiff me so that's what I'm waiting on the Falcons to see what they do but I will tell you they've made great moves right just if you look defensively the two moves that they've just signed with Matthew Matthew judon and I was just listening to Bill bellich talk about Matthew judan about how he's going to show up he's going to be in the place that he's supposed to be he's going to do what he's supposed to do even though he's quote unquote 30 plus he's just a solid person right and then parent Justin Simmons with the safety from Cincinnati now Jess and you have Jesse Bates and with AJ Terrell you have a formidable secondary knowing the division that you're in and and being able to say now you can line up and play from a secondary perspective with Mr regular season Kurt Cousins coming off the injury and have having pinck there in case bejan Robinson uh Kyle pittz London you know they're formidable yep yep they're formidable so you know with all their additions moves that they've made I'm going to give them again a high b a B+ right there because I think they've definitely made some moves that as long as health can be on in their favor right and they get things going in this division especially that if you look last year seven and 10 could have been nine and eight 10 and seven easily last year for them they was a couple games they was right there so you know I definitely see them ascending and then in this division is right for the taking so yeah that's that's the calling card of this because again the div they a lot of people call this division one of the weaker divisions of the entire league so oh it is it need some of that Tilly mckitty if they had some of that they come in strong right now A we running joke check the Viking last about the Tillery mckeny conversation that was was a good yeah if they tiller mckeny they would be okay yes indeed so yeah um I I again like to your point I'm higher on them than than you are I I'm definitely choing in the bit to see what the team can do I think they have you feel like they they can win the division oh I think it's there's to lose okay I think it's there to lose I I held that because David said he he think the Saints is the Saints division to lose I think it's the F division to lose in my opinion I would I will lean to you on that one I will lean to I will lean with you on that one and say if I had to if I had to pick between the Falcons and the Saints as being a division winner I would lean to the Falcons right so yeah I think it's again I think it's their division to lose I think what they all all of what they have the some of the parts what they have you know having a defensive coach the only two main glaring issues they had that they were missing were an edge rusher a solid pass rushing Edge guy uh and in the safety they had great Corners they they solid linebackers they solid interior dline they just had that edge guy that was proven and again you know they pairing these two Monsters of safety together Jesse Bates and J Simmons going to wreak havoc on quarterbacks I think with Raheem Morris coaching that group and and he's been known to get more out of his guys than what the talent dictates now he has talent I think he's gonna take this defense to New Height so the defense gonna be the calling card and all Kurt Cousins gotta do is beat kurk cousins you got a great o line you got a great athletic tight end who finally should be should be a breakout candidate this year Drake London is is a walking you know I guess you can say great valued style Mike Evans you know with his stature and his height and and his ability to go up and get the football you know Beast John Robinson my God I mean you know again the comparisons you know I still stuck on on on uh John's comparison about him being a LT like back you know like you know where he can just do it all his size his speed you know his quickness his shiftiness his elusiveness like he's he's just a Swiss army knife at running back so yes just let KY Pitts and bej Robinson go to work and let her cousins protect the football they want lot of football games in my opinion y yeah it's Davis point I think they can beat the Panthers twice hell I think they can beat T Bay twice the only question is paying against that Saints defense where the Saints gonna be whether not they split with them or beat them twice so that's my that's my B take I think they go you know at at worst they go five- one four- two in the division you know and that's enough to win it I believe it so yeah I'm really high on this particular team again and like you said if Kirk Cousins is aging and that ailles isn't right again you got Michael pennick who looks completely utterly fluid you know in in his uh in his uh limited uh time that we saw him on on the field to the point where the coach even need to play him the second game because he knew what he had and he was comfortable what where he was at so yeah I think they're in good hands I really do I really think they're in good hands I think Dar MO is is a sneaky slot position guy is gonna add value to this particular roster I'm really high on him as a fantasy sleeper um is being productive in this offense so I think they they're going to be really really good I think people are going to be talking about them around about week eight week nine as is a is a is a is a legit contender in the NFC for my for my money for my money so uh will get you lit it will you're right you're right about that you're right about that so yeah so again I mean it's not much to argue about this roster I mean they they have they have a lot to talk about you know two solid backs um you know as the Davis point I don't think they really necessarily need because if you if you get the if you get the production out of bejan and Kyle I don't really think you need to Place C Cordell parison I don't I think you can get you know most of that production if not more out of those two if you utilize them properly and just let Drake London and dar Mo be be be who they are I think this offense should the ball pretty well because not only do they have because this is what I argue about defensive coaches right you know you especially when defense coach a lot of times have blinders when it comes to offense and how to get the best out of that unit you gotta hire rostar OC and what did he do he he poached a guy from McVey staff to his OC Zack Robinson so you gota you got a McVey Shanahan McVey descended to coach's offense so I think they should be fine in my opinion I really think they should be fine um and like I said solid oine one of the better units in the in the league they they piring the tackles they got a great uh they got a great guard and and and Lindstrom as well so I think they I think they can really do do work here and again I to me I think they their division to lose and talk about the defense again what's not what's not the like the safeties I you arguably they could be the the best safy T in the league at the end of the season um DeMarco Helms was a sneaky slot that brought Eddie Goldman out out out of retirement to play you know gr Jared is one of the the best run stopping DTS in the league Lorenzo Carter uh Arnold abti on top of having M you got three good rotational pass rushers Rook ororo who they drafted to go along with gr Jared I think they got a solid group from one to one to 11 on defense one to 11 so um so yeah so you know from a grading perspective what what you what do you grade them at as far as uh the overall moves free agency trades draft um you know all the offseason things they've done what do you give them a grade at in in totality give him a a easy give him a yeah same here same here I give a too they headit it out the park head it out the park and again that's why I give credit to the GM because he's definitely doing his job you know because we get a lot of things wrong you know when when way Jims operate but he him and I argue him and Ryan poles should get an award for being GMS of the year right now just for the preseason Ryan poles and and Ryan Po in this gym for the Falcons are doing work in the offseason they spending that money W wisely and they getting good players they're definitely doing that D so yeah I definitely give him an A2 so the question that we have to ask ourselves you know I think we kind of been alluding to it throughout this segment will the F when shock NFC I'm going say yes yes I'm gonna say yes I think again I I don't bet against Kurt Cousins in the regular season okay dejan Robinson Cal pittz at tight end and especially the moves they made defensively and I think now 15y year 15y year two Super Bowl having Raheem Morris as head coach I think he's lived in learn now and I think him and Terry funno together and Arthur blank yep again I always talk about this when you have a triangle that works together and everybody's working to support each other again we don't always have to agree with every move but we have to be United in decisions made for the team when we step out and if you get that together you gonna be successful and for Raheem to leave to come back now and for what they've done roster wise I think they can shot I don't even know if you can call it shocking the NFC but I think they will and again it's kind of a shock to go from where they were at last year picking top 10 to being the threat in one season that's a shot yeah and again the person if you're looking you know kurk kurk Co chains Two Chains you know listen he I don't bet against him in a regular season if you give him a quality team um and so that everything he need weapons in the backfield weapons in outside weapons at tight end yeah man I think I think they it's right for the picking and I I'm going to reate a point I made two weeks ago about this particular uh uh NFC version of of the NFC I think that you know San Francisco got a lot of noise going on with Brandon IU can TR Williams they're not in house yet we don't know what their status is up in a for week one and we're a week and a half away um that's the issue because those are your two of three guys that you absolutely positively need in order for make this make that train move in San Fran um I do believe that we gota we're gonna talk about the Eagles in a here in a minute I think that that particular Dynamic is it's very high pressure pressure powder Kake of a situation you know so it if it goes sideways early it might just completely come off the rails we don't know you know so and you know the NFC North they all young I mean let's just be honest they all young so again I think that is if they just stay the course and play the games and win the B they supposed to be I really believe that this team could shock a lot of people and be right there you know vying for a high playoff spot come come week 12 week 13 okay judu said the bus gonna take the division at 10 and seven I don't know about that I don't know about that not so fast my with your lies I don't know I don't know but crazy things have happened but we talked about the Bucks earlier we got think there's a lot of issues defensively that they got going on so Baker Mayfield you know can you can you rely on him to to put the team on us back that's the question that's the question so we'll see but I think the Falcons will definitely sight unseen all things considered the they have remain healthy they will definitely be a threat in NC come in seasons in for me yeah all right so talking about the the runner up in the division last year let's talk about the Carolina Panthers so they have a lot of uh I Panthers guess you can say turnover um this offseason they uh they went out and uh got some guys they lost some guys um they finished 25 last year which I ironically gave the Bears Caleb Williams which is interesting in all likelihood but um you know so they had to trade their first round pick because they got it for Bryce young last year uh when I traded back up in the first round got Xavier Legette from uh is he from where is he from uh the name is escaping me right now I feel like I see the Jersey I can't think of the name but um trying to remember what team he went to but um what team he played for college but highly productive receivers you know he was one of my guys that I was watching who he get drafted by he actually end up going in the first round got him um so I guess you replace the production of DJ CH D CH is now a charger uh so he's uh he's out west they Lo they traded Brian Burns way to the Giants uh they lost Jeremy chin who was I'm who was I'm who I was very high on as a safety Jeremy chin was a was a was a good player uh for them uh while he was there I think he got drafted by them uh South Carolina that I know was yeah that same place Jon County went ironically who they have now where they got in for agency so um yeah it's it's a lot going on you know in Carolina um you know the owner in his Antics and got a new coach now uh you know Bryce Young's you know criticized being critical people being critical of his height and his ability to be a franchise quarterback um when I don't got Deontay Johnson and freed Toc trade from Steelers to pair him with the Xavier without I play money for Rob hard and fre Toc is is to help out that oine which was very shaky last year um also PA Davon CL they replace Brian Burns so they're probably the one team I can honestly say that they everything they lost they replaced you know you know from a free agency and draft perspective so they didn't lose a whole lot and they might have gain have a net gain in certain areas with adding Rob Hart to the o line which they sorely needed you know uh I think they paid $100 million dollar for him to to him to come over and play guard for them so you know for this team you know coming from 2015 know what do you what is your sentiment for for for the Carolina Panthers in their offseason what do you think this team is headed um to the basement is it can you go low can you go division it's either fourth or either is either the first down or fourth that's that's far as you can go how how many te how many teams in that division four four four yeah they six damn Jesus you f in two black void spaces yeah listen they are the only NFL team without a Prime Time game that says a lot that says a lot they going tickets are I uh I don't know the exact percentage but their going tickets are a substantial percentage lower than what they were last year you can get great seats right now wow at a Carolina game wow yeah now I do think listen if you want and this is I'm not saying this is funny I'm saying this is heartwarming put on Xavier Legette go to YouTube Type in his name and just listen to him talk if you don't smile yeah if you don't feel better after listening to him then something's wrong with you he's just a genuinely Southern young man you know um he's just he's just a pleasant to talk to listen talk I think he's a dog I think he's going to be helpful but this team has this team has way too many holes to steal feeli they're still another year out from being in a place to really be to make any noise as a middle of the pack team right it took them forever to win those two games and I thought we were trending to an O the first 0 and 17 season and they squeaked out two games they did they did did they lost their top pass rusher in Brian Burns who was a main State they they lost an unheralded safety and if any if you talk to people no safety no secondary plate they would tell you Jeremy chin is a lot better than people give him credit for I'm saying I I alluded to that I'm saying Jer J is a dog man yeah yeah DJ shark losing him and gaining Deontay Johnson that's a push to me I would slightly say maybe Deontay Johnson is better okay Robert Hart any offensive lineman help that they can get is a plus absolutely ja Davon Clowney is still disruptive but he's not what he was once but he's still going to make some noise uh All Things Considered I'm G give them a c you know they they couldn't they the only way they could have done worse is by not drafting at all so anything that they did was better so you know I give them a c and I just hope that they can protect Bryce young because I give him this credit people talk about how how frail he was and how thin and one of the things that was concerning was would he be able to make it through a whole NFL season and I'm happy to report that he did even though he took yeah he missed one game but overall he made it right and so that's a plus that's a win and you know the the offensive coordinator from Tampa Bay he's at Carolina as the head coach right coach as a head coach and so he's a offensive minded OC he was he was offensive minded he's a head coach now so hopefully you know if he was able to resurrect and put Baker in a good position right he can bring that Karma to Carolina and do the same thing with Bryce young listen Carolina is so is a bargain right now I was even looking at going to a game just because of the price they playing the Chargers this year so I was still thinking about it yeah yeah just just because of the ticket prices and everything I was like oh and listen Charlotte Charlotte's a nice place now don't get that Twisted it is a very nice place I L I have family to from there there a very nice yeah so yeah again we have a cont when I say contan t we have slightly different takes on this team I'm I'm slightly go the panther slightly because again there's a lot of questions here new head coach owner is very uh can't stand him toxic he's very toxic um so you got a toxic owner at the top that could really trickle down you know stuff typically rolls downhill don't roll uphill right uh so that part isn't concerning but I mean out you know when they've done roster wise I think they've improved in a net way I mean again losing DJ CH losing Brian bur Lo Jeremy chin especially thosee those last two that's a big L it's a big loss right I think a Net game would be to say I got if you can tell me if you tell me I can give up DJ CH and get deonce Johnson and Xavier get together I think I'm okay with that I think I'm okay with that still got Thelen there Adam th was a wildy veteran so he got three good receivers you know they went on got uh uh jarian Sanders from Texas a big Target I think he's six fo five 245 250 pound uh Target for Bryce young um so what what Bryce lacks in size jaman makes up for so you got a big Target in the middle to be able to utilize um I think I I really think they their first four or five picks they knocked out a parking draft wise they got zavier in the first round they got Jonathan Brooks who's still on the P list right now but when he gets off the P list he's gonna be the number one back and I think he's gonna be a really good one he came from uh Texas right yeah they got him and T from Texas both their Titan and their running back from the same group same class so they drafted trevan Wallace who I Trevon Wallace who I'm love coming out of draft from Kentucky the linebacker um to to go along with Shaq Shaq uh Shaq uh Thompson so yeah I think you know they still got Derek Brown so I think they I think they're okay you know from a roster perspective it's just whether or not Dave Canalis can coach can they protect Bryce young and you know will what would the defense look like but they have the pieces though and I just reiterate that by my point by looking at the dep chart you know I think like said Bryce young is there is your starter I need da your backup TR H start right now but I think he's GNA get a job taken when Jonathan Brooks comes in uh Jonathan Mingo was a hold over they did release Terence Marshall today I saw that so you got John Domingo Adam th Z and deonce Johnson receiver you got four good receivers jion Trimble and Ian Thompson at the at the tight end spot ikyo Ian Thomas is still hanging around around Jordan Matthews he got cut don't worry about it he got cut today I was about to say one a former wide receiver he was from the Eagles yes he got cut he cre the tight end that worked out yes listen let me let me say this real quick you can get in section 104 row 16 seats nine and 10 uhhuh for $159 each that's tell at an NFL game yeah that's that's that's that tell you what's going on right now I tell you what's going on right now but yeah yeah again I think they got pieces I think I think that ikwo and robart gonna be the class of this this o line Austin cor came over um as a center um yeah I think Tor Mo motton has had his struggles but you know he's has at the athleticism to play the position just you just question whether not he can protect the right side um but yeah I think they got I got they got they got names they got talent here it's just a matter whether that they put it together offensively and defensively then Derek Brown in the middle asan Robinson you know shot Tuttle three big massive men in the middle that gon be a to stop the run whe David Cony on the edge along with cevon kasan I know if you remember him from uh Jaguars a few years ago he was other guy from he drafted with Josh Allen they drafted in back toback years they drafted Kon one year they drafted Josh Al the very next year they were the booking before they got TR Travon Walker so he's there Amari barno who's a sleeper uh very Athletic Edge very quick and Athletic Edge he kind of reminds me of uh chop Robinson um before he got hurt so he's there so you got three good edges um again the running the linebackers Trev Waters and sha Thomason be great um JC horn still there as a corner um they got uh Xavier Woods they brought him over to replace uh Jeremy chin which is not a which is not a plus but he's still a body he's still a decent body um but another kid by the name of Jamie Robinson who I'm high on from FSU they drafted last year I think he's gonna ultimately be the starter um once we all get settled and get it and get into playing real good football I think they they're going to be Sol they got guys they got guys I just don't see they I don't see them finish two and 15 but you know if if things fall off the r for the for the Saints or the Bucks they could Al they could mess around fish third it depends on what the office looks like you know so for me I think they I think you know when we get into the grad perspective of it I think that I'm I'm going to I'm going to give them a solid C+ you know they got names they got bodies they they they they've done well for themselves um as far as you know filling the gaps that they had you know they had to get rid of some guys they brought some guys in um although they might be you know holdovers one year guys but for right now the roster seems solid you know top to bottom I don't see a lot of things that say that oh this is a bad unit you know I get oine is really the only big question for me can they can they right can they jail if they jail then they'll be fine okay so would you give them us overall gra top to bottom well again they only could have done worse if they didn't draft so anything that they did was a plus okay I do like the names that you you name I'm gonna give them a C I'm GNA give him a c that's fair that is fair that is fair okay so yeah i g a c pleasure g a c so I think I think they'll be you know again I think this this is It's that team that you don't expect them to beat a lot of teams but if you sleep on them because you know you should beat them they mess around they mess around sneak one off on you so yeah I think that be careful if you if you playing the Panthers I think that's that's that should be the Mantra going into playing them right so the question is you know will Bryce young emerge uh he has to he he can't yeah he can't be worse so I think he's going to be better again I think with a offensive head coach he's going to improve and listen Bryce Young's a winner okay let's let's put that he he's come from a winning background first of all he's come from a winning household right his father a big uh you know they did a lot of work me positive thinking positive approach a lot of accountability he's been a winner at every level I watched him at high school um he won there Against All Odds you know he went to college he won there came out with the hosman and so I just think he has a pedigree that if giving given the tools and giv the right opportunity he can succeed so I'm going to say he's going to emerge I I just can't see him having worse year than last year yeah so in that being the case I I I think we're going to see we're going to see an improvement and so I'll say that he's gonna emerge yeah I'm hopeful I'm hopeful because I mean you know I was more higher on CJ stra and I think you were on the Bryce shre when he came out of college but you know we quickly pivoted to CJ being a man but I do think that Bryce has talent I would argue that you know it's funny this this Affinity with with smaller shorter quarterbacks from Alabama Tua and now BR young one right handed you know he kind of if he can have a t type Arc I think I think that that's that's a win for the Panthers kind of that year two to year three turn when you get an offensive minded head coach finally he will turn the corner and be productive um and I think he has the tools to be that I say you know kind of tread water with uh miles Sanders and trouba hubard in the Run game until Jonathan Brooks is ready and then when he's ready I think I think this one to that they turn they turn the corner they Lean On The Run game you know let those big boys upside up front you know just just move people and and you know make it you know a lot of second and third shorts versus second and third and Longs I think that Bryce will be all right you know it's just a matter of what David Canal has plans for him in in year two that's really only question but I like I like what they're doing I think they could be year way like you said but I do believe that they're they're trending in the right direction it just can of or St out the way yeah yeah that's that's the think I have the F at the top I got five at the top okay all right so there you have it man NC South is broken down so we get to that uh and hopefully we'll get one to more division there before the West next week and we'll break that down in short order before we get started with the season but moving on to the Philadelphia Eagles at the Eagles How good can they be - The Eagles Off-season landed as if we didn't have enough to talk about right like you know they just give us more and more headlines but the Philadelphia Eagles and Howard Roseman did it again whether was pulling off a signing you know free agency signing a draft day trade team to team trade it just seemed like the rich get richer right Eagles swindled and I do mean swindled a inivision trade with the commanders and sending Jan Dawson was a former first round pick to the Eagles for a third and fifth round pick right that move adds even more foul power to the already loaded offense so now the question must be asked with all the moves the Eagles have made in the draft free agency they even trade have they landed at a place where they must win and must win big to justify all these roster moves hell yes hell yes they have for a number of reasons the biggest one is the development of The Angst between jayen and the coach I agreed so when you when when that splinter was exposed right when that emotional disconnect was exposed and with the roster the talent that they have and hearing all these things that position and pushes the expectations for your team front and Center and so you know you can't ask for much more outside of just everyone all mden yeah all Madden team you know you know it's it's like it's it's like you you have the young lady that you know she's stacked on top and bottom has all her hair Perfect Teeth smells that's a trifecta and knows how to cook you know oh man yeah and eat sundresses from the back you know what I mean you know you know if you know you know yeah and she makes six figures oh man and takes you out on dates I'll be I'll be all that I'm just saying go ahead though but yeah they that listen you can't they when when when we look look at the Eagles the last couple years if I had to compare them to a superhero it would be Thanos oh because they collected all the stones that they have right when you look at AJ Brown paired with Devonte Smith uh paired with a solid offensive line the defensive moves that they've made and now having saquin and I still still don't understand how in the hell did they get the top two rated secondary players in the draft man that's what I'm say to risk get richer bro the risk get how does how he keep doing this that is the question how is how he keep doing this you know and then to turn around now so you have AJ Brown yep you have a Devonte Smith yep and don't look at the stats 500 yards Overlook that look at what Jan doson was able to do and now you're putting him in a slot position it's damn near unfair don't forget Dallas Gard who's one of the unheralded Titans in the league yes and here's why I say they've landed because if all of that and let's not talk about that half of the damn defenses from Georgia they might as well be called a Philadelphia Bulldogs hey mine as well when you look at all that that it makes you say if you're not winning there's something else happening agreed there's something else going on and to go they were the most criticized 10in one team last year that we've ever seen 10in one wasn't 10in one when you looked at it it just they didn't seem like a 10in one team right something seemed off and then the whole damn bottom fell out in week 12 and on right so with Nick serani the situation and and and the Rumblings as coach likes to say the Rumblings of was Nick actually being assisted because of his assistance and now that they are gone did something get exposed that he's not the coach that we thought he was right without his assistance so now second year we're going to get to see and we've heard about him being on the hot seat if you know anything about this organization and this group it's um let's say this they have no problem releasing a head coach in a blink of an eye when you You released the C the coach that brought you your very first Super Bowl that tells you because if you never won a Super Bowl as a franchise and this guy won you won and in two days later you're considering moving off of him that's just tell you all you need to know about how they feel about the coach yeah it's it's definitely something they don't uh harp on you know they they move off of you quickly if you're not getting it done for them that's that's for sure yeah that is for sure so it is with them it truly is business not personal absolutely 100% 100% so yeah for me Eagles have checked all the boxes roster wise they could check now now it's time to deliver on the field they put it in and put it in place that's where it is they got you know they got better in the secondary a safety and corner you know you know because they not not only did they get you know to your point you got Quin M and Kuba dejan they they brought back CJ Garner Johnson you know as we look at the office real quick I mean it's what not like not to like my L and Lane Johnson is is booking tackles this on line even with losing Jason Kel is a Hall of Fame Center they've been groing cam Jurgens to play center for the next two years when they drafted him you know you know kind of sucession player knowing that Kelsey was going to hang it up at some point he's going to feel right in and be fine because he's been on line this whole time he's just been playing guard they drafted the Tustin who they going to fill in fill in cam Jens spot guards they I don't think they miss to beat there no even even much even much more to the point where they gonna be even more deadly on offense because you got Squan Barkley who's I still don't understand how the Giants let this happen but within a division you know this probably the best running back they had since lean McCoy I mean let's let's just be real about it so you got that on top of three legit receivers two legit tight ends because not only they got Dallas G but they got Albert o from Denver who was was a stud the Denver didn't know how to use so I think he's gonna be good so the two tight ends good you not only got weapons but you got depth but then again the defense you got two dogs you know I mean we talking Master pit bulls you know Carter and Jordan Davis uh you know Josh sweat Bryce Huff is is Edges Brandon Graham is still there I mean what's not the like man what's not the like Nico Dean and we just talk ago Devin white yes and then mind you say that again say say say that again Deon white the linebacker Deon white understand people when we say this name when coach says that name Devin white is still young absolutely he was just injured and he's playing with a chip on his shoulder oh listen you g hear that name on Sunday just just you just wait you just wait down with the depth and getting Jeremiah TR Jr who was a legacy actor was father who played for the Eagles then who like that so I mean having key Ringo there Eli Rick two studs you know in college D they played well for them last year going about re re re rehashing CJ Garden Johnson from from uh the Lions uh last year so top to bottom they're they they're good top to bottom they're straight off roster wise again there's not much you can say massive upgraded running back massive upgraded linebacker great receivers how he's doing the job without question that's that's that's not the issue but now we get Nick terani and his ability to coach and Lead his team you know Kell Mo his ability to coach the offense that's another question because we had we still got we still haven't checked that box yet you know because once he left Dallas he was in LA for a year and the mind I'm G give him Mulligan because he had to deal with Brandon Staley give a m that but coming back to this can he Rectify his offense that's the question we have to ask we don't know yet but the pressure squarely on the coaches at this point and unless heaven forbid injuries you knock on W we because we don't want completely R him of success with injuries but as no EXC excuse left for them not to be the class of NFC yes let's just put it plain so will Nick s gets exposed as riding the coils of his coaches in that Super Bowl season or will he get it out the mud and pull his team up and make the make a Deep Run that's that's where it better pull him he better pull him out the mud I'm saying I'm saying so yeah I would say this you know and and you know it's you know if he's not feeling the pressure then he's delusional but it's it's all on Nick serion at this point you know a GM will give you Grace if you clean house and blame it on the coordinators but you only get that pass once yes that's a silver bullet you can only use that once absolutely so if it's disaster or you collapse like last season Nick's gonna get the unle field treatment if you watch The Fresh Prince B Air at any point in time you you know what the uncle field treatment is so how is you know he's going to find somebody that's goingon to get it done if if Nick can't get it done so best believe that you better step up or get left at the training station Nick they're brand new it's Jo to lose Jo to lose we'll see all right man so moving on let's talk about NFL preseason you know we wrapped up this Pre-Season Recap - Final Takeaways whole Gambit of the preseason training cam is done well you know I guess you know I guess you training C is pretty much done the 50 roster is done um you know we've you know seen ironically ironically enough to this I haven't seen a record lad injuries from my money can you have you felt that way that we haven't seen like the the big time like a lot of injuries season ending detrimental injuries this year yeah we we haven't se seen yeah it hasn't been that much injury news that have made you know that have made the news we we've had a couple ACLS right um and things but we yeah to me we haven't we haven't gone through and I hope we don't that wave yes right and so it's it's been a if all things considered it's been a light year I agree I definitely agree with that but yes so the preseason wrapped up the headlines are flowing The rosters have been cut down so let's dive into some news and takeaways about what we have brought to a conclusion to the preseason what is our concluding take from what the preseason has brought us and there's a lot here let's start with preseason games you know you know what is your Bigg biggest take away from the games and then we'll you know we'll Carry On from there and get into you know the headlines and the in the uh in the roster cutdowns what was our shocking takeaways from that um from the games three things stood out to me one Houston looks deadly as hell uh two jayen Daniels looks the part for Washington and shows why he was you know the last two years of LSU benefited him yes and three for any young person that wonders how much having a plan benefits you look at Caleb Williams another good one it's another good one I like it those three things stood out to me when your talent is superseded by your hard work your hard work will always benefit from your talent and so you know when you when you look at the talent that Caleb has but the hard work that he put in a lot of it's not talked about but this young man has been NFL preparing since high school everything regimen everything I would argue since boy club since we saw him but that's whole another conversation yeah I would everything detailed everything strategically made and and obedience to you know the regimen and the The Obedience that the family had to put him I mean the young man at a at an apartment right next to the school to make it more convenient for him to get from practice and homework right to right to uh a place that he didn't have to lose time via commute right that that's sticking to the plan right Jaden Daniels looking at at the journey that he took you know from Arizona State and then transitioning from Arizona State and the things that happened with him and and how his name was sullied to go to LSU to make them you know to go through a Joe burrow like first year to come back and have a Joe burrow Championship season year right and then to walk into the NFL and people are gravit to him and mind you he had Thomas and Neighbors on that team right um and then finally Houston out of any team thank you for being with us David appreciate you coming through man we'll see you any team that I felt even as vanilla as it is that I felt dominated the preseason I'm going to give it to Houston Texas i i i hog the I I well say I was on my sobx a couple weeks ago when I said that you know I gave you a little bit of Coach speak when I said that when your backups look like starters that tells you a lot about what a team and how good they're going to be you know it's a team I can't I'm trying to remember what a team was but it's a team I noticed I learned this about 10 years ago watching a team when they was like who are these C how why why he playing so well in the preseason and they was their backups and what they do what come they when the starts hit the field come regular season they were even that much better and they had death listen it was it was it was it was it was it was it was poetry emotion poetry emotion so I 100% agree with you with the with the with the Houston T 100% agree with you that it it there's no sophomore SL there's no fall off they only gonna go up I I 100% agree with you there and lastly I'll say this David mentioned the new kickoff rule yeah after watching it and seeing it I think is the dumbest thing ever I think if anything just move if if you have a if you truly want more kickoffs just move it back 10 yards or yeah just move it back 10 yards yeah I'm not sure what a solu I bet a solution is at this point but I I'm with you it's it's a little cringey yeah it it it is it is it it's you know it's I'm I'm just gonna keep it playing it's cringey just looking at it I get the idea yeah I get the idea in theory if you're talking about negating and decreasing what what by that that data analytics said you saw more concussions on kickoffs and kickoff return than anywhere else okay in theory I get it if that's your whole thing but then what listen I'm not gonna get on my soap box so I just say this just say what it is right if you want to give the offense a better way to be able to shrink the field them to score then just say that well they don't want to say they never gonna say that they just gonna make rules to to bleed the idea that that's the case but they never gonna out outward implicitly say I'm not gonna I'm not GNA say get on my get on my stand of of in my Podium and say I'm G to make it so the offense scores more points no I'm not gonna say that I'm just going to make rules to that to that degree I'm that's what I'm because here here's the thing when has it ever been oh we want to we want to see more kickoffs right what nobody ever said that nobody's ever said that no nobody's ever said oh out of all the game but I think all the parts of the game they know that all the touchbacks were an alltime high because of where they kicking from and that those drives constantly starting from the 20 or the 25 were netting a whole lot of points like we got to figure out something yeah make it seem like we're trying to be about safety and then and change this real go to the 40 makes a whole lot of difference yeah but if you really think right now the preseason I heard Bill bellich say this and I I really found it to be enlightening he said the preseason was nothing more than teams working to see certain things yeah he was like if you really believe that with these kickers that with the ability to have not one but two kick returners now that they're going to risk returns he said you you're you're silly they're just gonna kick it out the end zone right they gonna kick out the end zone but hey I you know what if you want me to drink the Kool-Aid sip sip if you really if you want me to not see for what it is you know you want to give offenses the ability to get the ball at the 35 to 40 be 10 yards from the 50 right have a short field to score you know more kick off more p and more field goals bare minimum and hopefully more touchdowns if you want me to really think it's about increasing kick returns and decreasing uh Collision then two things can be true and if you want me to drink this Kool-Aid like I said sip sip have have a blast have a blast have a blast okay yeah I mean you know all great points I think I pretty much agreee with everything you said um in that particular space but you know I don't think other than that I took away from it is that you know I would say you know again you reiterate a point that the this particular QB class you know is is as advertised I think we've been saying that yeah yeah um you they let me know um you know what we've been all we've been raing and raving about all this all offseason and it came this quarterback class is special and you know oh hell yeah and it could go down as being one of the best if not the best NFL draft class in history assuming health and productivity I mean hell look Bo Nicks is Saving right John Peyton's job hello hello so and you got four out of six quarterbacks in the first round that could start week one not only start but they in decent situ from from a you know a Weaponry perspective a play calling perspective I mean they're in good spots you know with kff Kingsbury with you know with all the weapons that K Williams has you know what uh you know what B Nick is working with you know that you know Drake M is probably the only person that's kind of like yeah he's not in an ideal situation but outside of that what Cayla Jaden and Bo got going on for themselves they they're in pretty good hands they're in pretty good hands I I really I really do believe that again I just only thing I pray for is Drake May if he G to start at some point you know I think that that you know I think he's the only person that's really you know kind of like uh it's might be rough year for him but everybody else is in aot I really do that and then you know they're talking potential Dark Horse you know playoff contention for both teams in NFC so hey man yeah I'm here for it I'm here for it so you know I talk about the injuries and that being down knock on wood it stays that way you know that injuries being down um so whatever they're doing I would say this NFL is doing something different that we don't necessarily know about on the surface keep doing it cuz because we go through this trun time every single year all these High Hopes about these players and they all get hurt right yeah so it hadn't happen yet and hopefully pray it doesn't happen again so you know what if you're doing something different keep doing we're good we're good there but outside that you know I think that long term I think that you know we're doing pretty well um only thing I didn't really like about the preseason is that they got real water down towards the end because they people were playing you know people that are not have any noteworthiness less and less um and these guys you probably won't see on Sundays so that's probably you kind of got a little dry at the end um as far a preon perspective like you know used to be up the third game would be the tuneup like you would get to the point where you know your starters would play a half and you would get to see guys for the most majority of the of the game right you ain't really seeing that some guys who don't even make the roster are playing the whole game I saw who who was it who was it played the whole game uh and got cut the very next day it was one quarterback I can't think who it was but yeah he play he literally played a whole game and got cut the very next day so what did that take so I don't know that's I think I know you talking about because I think he got picked up by Canadian League already yeah I think he he got cut and then the next day he got picked up by the Canadian League that's crazy if it's who I if it's who who I think you're talking about that's the crazy part like said he he literally played the whole game so you would think that he play the whole game you you trust him enough to play the whole game but then you get rid of him the very next one I don't know I would play with somebody that I'm trying to look that might be on a bubble versus playing a guy I know I'm going to cut this is weird but that's the only part I didn't like but overall I mean all preseason love the fact they won a lot of injuries and we get to see a lot of these guys coming into the fold uh on week one week one so you know we move on to a headline perspective like you know we saw C lamb got paid uh Juju Smith went back to the Chiefs amongst other things so from a news perspective like you know what grabbed you from a news persp pers you said what now I said what grabbed you from a news perspective what was the biggest you know headline of season know you still got hold outs with Trent Williams Brandon iuk CD CD L end this hold out but but Jamar Chase who they claim you gonna play week one we don't know you know he's still I think you just started practicing you know not that you said all that I was gonna go one way but I'm going to switch it I don't remember when was the last time we've been this close to the season starting and have had this many big names still unsigned that's a good one that's a good one that's my biggest takeaway right now because when you look and I'm G still add CD in there even though like 24 it just happened yeah when you look at all the names of players and contract situations I don't remember it ever ever getting this close to the season and still those people are not signed and mind you there's still two contracts out there that are yet to S sign one being Dak Prescott and two being Michael Parsons yeah so it's still contracts that haven't been done you got reck you got Jamar Chase uh Brandon iuk and even though I saw today the report that Jamar Chase is supposed to play week one or will play week one right I strongly believe that Brandon auk Trent Williams and uh who else is holding out Jamar Chase Jamar cha well they said Jamar Chase gonna play but I believe Brandon auk and Trent Williams will hold out into the season I think so yeah if anybody if anybody definitely Trent Williams if anybody knows anything about Trent Williams he stands on business nobody else stand on business that's Trent Trent will be the one on business he will stand on business he's made enough to stand on business and he's valuable enough to make you uncomfortable because when you look at statistics as well and data is not the same quarterback without Tren Williams on his left side with Trent and without Trent the 49ers are not the same team right but it's just crazy to look at the situation and my nervousness is what we've seen in the past when players have pushed this late into the season in some regards right and haven't played the season hasn't went well that's a good point too for them that's a great Point too and especially and again I am not wanting anything negative at all but you looking at a double whammy with money and late reporting in the season it it it it has been something that hasn't bowled well it's a so it is and I will tell you and you've heard if you've been paying attention to any type of Sports Talk Radio training during the season and training for football are not the same good point you you only get better in football by playing football and you can't simulate the nuances in even though you're training I'm getting in shape I'm running routes you can't simulate the nuances of being jammed things not going right having to torque your body from your quarterback throwing certain passes and getting certain Rhythm you can't simulate that you have to be playing football to get that together so know that's that's been my that's my biggest like you said mentioning that thinking about that that's my biggest takeaway great takeaways great takeaways I guess only thing I really wanted to highlight was CD getting paid U I think we all need knew it had to happen you know just at what cost Jerry had to write the check we all knew that um second highest paid wide receiver per annual salary you know that sounds about right for me um you know so I guess question now remain to your ear what does that mean for Jamal Chason to bring Al that's the next question where where did they fall in that pecking order you know um I think we all know without knowing that de prar is gonna protect himself and going for agenc in 2025 yeah I think by March of 2025 he's gonna be a free agent I think Micah is to be determined um but if you go out and get a rookie quarterback and free up DX contract they might be able to allow you to afford Michael's uh uh extension but you know but you got do something about it you know sooner than later because again it's going to be a a black cloud over your head all season because you got one done but the other two still aren't and I think I alluded to this earlier when we talked about this is the fact that you know this team is not going to do anything without those big three so now that they all worked out D cook and may bring him in which they think they should uh they desperate at running back because I don't think Ezekiel ell oo Dallas going to move the needle at all no but um but yeah but all that big three in place the whole season the Dallas Cowboys are going to spiral and spiral quickly so yeah I think that's that's I think that's clear in my mind you know hopefully it's clear to Dallas fans the Kirby expectations so we'll see how things go for in that regard um I did want to highlight some about the B the Chiefs too is that um you know I'm not sure exactly what it means I was talking to Alex earlier today ironically to see what he thought but um I'm not sure exactly what juju going back to casy means yet I mean it is another weapon um Hollywood Brown is banged up at the moment um you know you still had re rice uh where was Juju last year was he with Patriots okay cut him yeah they cut him so he went back to KC so um you know I think that you know from a selfly from a fantasy perspective I'm a little ly about the Chiefs outside of Patrick Mahomes because you don't know week to week who's gonna be the guy you know it could be somebody different and outside of Kelce and I think that but I do think for even for Travis Kelsey father thas is knocking on the door and if I'm Andy I'm gonna low manage him throughout the season until the playoffs because that's why I need my hall of fame Titan the most is fresh in the playoffs so we get the regular season you know they drafted Jared Wy and they got uh they got Noah gray there so they got a guys there to uh to fill in you know that fill in that void to kind of take the pressure off him so I would think about that um but I think there could be you know ultim insurance policy for rid right because uh because they haven't said anything or dropped a hammer on his ruling for his case so if he does Happ to get some clarity on that the season the leag spend a midseason we don't know right right so between Hollywood Brown being banged up and and re rice being uncertain you know you're not sure we get out of Z worthy just yet scy Mo I think that Juju is probably in insurance policy or nothing else so I think it was smart on their part to do that U but again it's just quite mysterious about what they doing a offense you know who's gonna be the main guy it's almost like a sum of all parts that one big dominant person that you want to say is going to be weak in and weak out it's gonna be the dude so I I would be concerned if I'm if I'm drafting anybody from there early in Fant if his name is not Patrick Mahomes but outside of that I'm curious to what wory is going to look like um in the NFL real live game going to against number one Corners so we we'll see how that thing that goes but I would I will say this that I'm not gonna bet against the Chiefs at all but it's just to see how to make this particular flavor of their run work right right yeah so I think that's where where it it starts ends for me space but but overall again great preseason I think the 53 man roster is the next thing like for for that for that particular space real quick do you have anything that kind of shocks you like oh my God you know I can't believe they let him go or they didn't they they kept him or whatever the case may be very minor you know you look at certain yeah nothing major no major major moves it was just some people you like oh they they released him or you know like Sterling Shepard right um I didn't see that coming yeah I see that I didn't see that coming considering that barring the injury he was productive and with New York Giants right uh and going to Tampa Bay I would have had him third just off name who he is agreed when he got cut so it's it's some like that but more so just happy that you know five the the the youth football club is represented by five NFL players right now and I don't know how many youth football clubs can can say that they have five players currently on a NFL roster so at one time at one time at one time at one time so big some of them them factories that that just PP out kids but you know yeah it's a badge of honor for us for sure yeah yeah and more on the way and more on the way big facts big facts okay all right so yeah so we'll we'll definitely be monitoring this Corner - Training camp Week 6, Pre-season Game 3! let's talk Chargers Corner let's talk Chargers corner so uh love can I say I love Jim Harbaugh who you think you do how he has he has quips and and statements that just make you laugh especially the last one uh when uh Justin got out of his Boot and he said I heard Angel singing and then I watched the clip and he said oh I couldn't go to sleep and when I I woke up about three or four o'clock in the morning and I looked up and I said it's not today it's today as as much PTSD as Chargers fan me included have gone through coaches in the last 10 years 20 12 years we are happy that Jim Harbaugh is in La where where cheated fin some stability that's sure that's for sure but you know what we want to talk about you know in in in in positive and great fashion the moral is high at Chargers camp ever since number 10 took off that boot and put little lace those pads back up and put those shoes on it's been good it's been it's been it's been fun times in in La all reports show that he's looking good laser focus dowed in putting up throws and practice that even Quinton Johnson can catch wow yeah I I know I I know go said I did I did you did that you did that I did I did you did that I'm my bad my bad I said I'm all gonna be positive be positive that's be positive I'm not apologize for it though but yes as the people in practice making throws you know that out of this world you know you know while I'm while I'm still Hing my bet because this type of injury can linger folks are saying that it does he does not seem affected At All by it knock on wood so he look in practice you know no nothing really hampering him at this point so I'm sure fans hope and want to believe that he he it that report is 100% accurate he's not affected by it yeah but no if nothing else that allowed for the team to get back on track so no more spotting front of offense no more e stick having to drive the train slowing down the progress of the defense offense in neutral it was a good week of practice all reports there was very very high morale in practice this week when T took the snaps on the center yep great moves great moves great moves so know that lends to the idea you moving forward about you know him practicing like I said the morale is up practice is great um so then we flowed to Dallas at the practice this week and um ironically enough had an un promptu team bonding event in Dallas in the Dallas Hotel so the team actually a few members of the team including Justin Herby got stuck in the elevator hotel that they were staying in for a few hours yeah so they you know when they finally climbed out of the Elevator Shaft dressed and sweat you know a lot of people shirts off you know yeah hot you know end up being a bonded moment for the team which is ironic enough you know that that that particular moment allowed the team to get even closer with Tim being back in the fold and them bonding in that elevator it just made it to the point where they really were looking good going into the game against Dallas in the preseason last preseason game although clearly Tim was gonna play it it had everybody's spirits on high yes yes did they get to the game in Dallas you know and despite the offense you know still having East stick to deal with he played the whole entire game uh I can't him yeah yeah he should be playing baseball with a name like e stick he should be playing baseball not not football but that's whole conversation yeah but despite that the the dolphin actually did pretty well for themselves um you know they they they put up some points but it was on the back of the defense because the defense made a name for themselves in in in that game on Saturday they tallied six turnovers um you know one you know in in route to a seven-point victory over the Cowboys um Tony the wildy veteran was the Talk of the Town uh Tron Morris Brad was another one who was made a name for himself in that game and those two gentlemen you know leaving that game you would it left a tough decision for them to make to keep them off their 53 but ironically enough traymon Morris Branch didn't make it because he was gonna be the fifth Edge rusher that's the only thing was working against him but when I say this man had a hell of a preseason and he deserved the roster spot he deserved a roster spot but I got to see Junior Coulson uh early on on in the game he finally played that was that was good for me I I got to see that I got to see Tony Jefferson play the whole game uh Dean Leonard played another Sol solid game like said they turned over Trey Lance five times he threw five picks and fumbled once so he had a rough day um but it started off the game with a big run by darus Davis on reverse that he took to the house about 90 yards so that was great finally scored a set of touchdowns early on we had scored a hold a touchdown in the entirety of the uh preseason up until now so that was good first series we get we score touchdown so again that kind of lends to the idea how the morale was better when is practicing so you know that okay now we can get the business we we G start you know getting focused and really try to get his office moving right before that we look like a fish out of water we really did it was bad it was a rough watch was a rough watch but outside of that man it was a great like I said I think that having your franchise quarterback healthy and running the show that that that that changes the whole dynamic of everything so game the game was good we won by seven you know first victory of the Season you know morale was high the G the guys that played well for the most part made roster so it was a good it was a good move good look so I I definitely looking forward to what the season is going to bring uh we broke camp and now we back um in La practicing at our new facility so it's some it's some good times to be had so that was mainly my takeaways from the game I like what I saw um and hopefully we can uh you answer the Bell come week one against the Raiders um with two two and a half weeks of solid practice with Justin being on the center so I think that's where you know where we're at and um if we can get on track and get this office moving I think that we we gonna have a good chance to beat the Raiders in in in Sofi out of week one but um coming down to the 53 man roster cutdowns I think the only thing that really shocked me uh is tro TR BR Morris brat not making it because he was gonna be the rusher because you got Joey Bosa kilam ma T Tuli poo and bu depri so keeping the fifth AED Rush was kind of like uh can you do that but more running backs iron which is which is interesting but two have injury history so that's I guess that might be a reason why you keep four so course kept JK they kept gust it kept come out all they draft and it kept Jared Patterson shout out to him for making a charges roster 53 man rer he's on the roster so there's no practi squad for him this year so I'm happy for him and he looked damn good at final preseason game I'm saying I'm saying but he looks oh he's always look good in preseason but somebody just didn't want to invest I just didn't understand it so now he's finally getting somebody that's really going to invest him and I like it and hope he get some burn this uh this season so um gu I think he I think he reminds Jim of Blake K that's a good one this a smaller version small version yeah yeah that's a good one that's a good one yep yep yep so um yeah so I think that uh you know I this really thing that only really shocked me uh they got rid of Oh Donna Parham the 68 tight end they got rid of um that's crazy I know I know that was that was a little bit of a head scratcher but the problem is he can't block he's a pass catcher and he's he's he's a smaller you know he's about 239 a 6 foot eight so he's a he's a straight up pass Catching Red Zone nightmare that's all he is he's not a blocker at all he's not an inline blocker at all he he don't block you know you know Roman and carball are big on blocking so that's reason why he probably didn't make the roster um I'm sure somebody going to take a chance on him you know between his injury history and his his ability to be not be a block was red flags for Jim and Greg so that's probably why they got rid of him um the cut Isaiah Spiller who a hold over running back did did brand Ste resem drafted which I'm not mad at so yeah I mean in the receiver Court they gra they they they kept Brandon rice uh but it got rid of Co Alias Johnson who was a a Jim harb guy from Michigan so I was kind of surprised by that um because they drafted him in seventh round along with rice but um but overall I mean if I had to really go top to bottom I still don't like our backup quarterback position they got rid of Louis they got rid of um U Max Dugen they kept e stick which I still don't understand where Lis Perez come from was he from UFL yes he he was the MVP of the UFL yeah so they got rid of him uh they but they keep e stick which I understand so let they're gonna make a move for a backup quarterback at some point in in the near future I don't understand it because I don't understand what type of extortion plan e stick has on the charers organization the reason why he a job but it's it's it's getting sickening at this point you know because again if we have to deal with him if Justin can't play it any point it's gonna be a rough time it's going be a rough time he just he just not he's not the guy he's not it he's not it but um the running back room I'm comfortable with super comfortable with wi room we don't have a legit number one you know that's a very uh I guess you can say scary time for us because we've had Ken and Allen for so long you know it's kind of kind new territory for us so DJ CH LL makoni Josh Palmer Quinn Johnston Brenan rice Simi foko so it's it's a new regime and the blocking tight ends we have they not really know for the pass catching will dley and Hayden Hurst ston smart and I I think we need a better pass catching tight end in that room um so the receiver the receiving group tight end and wide receiver got a lot of questions who's gonna be who's G to emerge as being a productive person in that in those rooms is gonna be it o Sol not really arguing nothing there outside of Bradley bosan can he be the center for this team and Lead this unit because you know how I feel about centers and being the the the the captain of the group can he Galvanize that line but I'm not I'm not concerned about the tackles at all I think the tackles are fine I think the guards are fine it's just whether the center can play well um but the defense are actually very uh I'm very high on uh we got tiry tart from the Titans who's a really good run stopper we pair him with uh Puna Ford them two behem in the middle I think we're gonna be good solid against the Run was allow Deon and and Junior and and Perryman to flow and and make plays from the linebacker spot I like that Morgan Fox is a hybrid run stopping size pass rushing DT like that in love with our edges love our linebackers I'm actually okay I'm actually like the production of what the quarterbacks did in the in the preseason with Dean lonard Jia Taylor and those guys playing well in uh in in extended Duty in the preseason so you couple that with chrisan Fon and asan Samuel I think is a good group um and I really like I say you the room now that Tony Jefferson is in that group uh he made the roster with Darren James Tony Jefferson and Alo Gilman so I think that that Jesse Min is going to have some uh some fun with this unit so I think we play solid defense run the ball effectively early and figure out who our pass going to be then that's going to be the the telling Factor how well we doing the season awesome okay got any other questions or concerns anything you want to add to this take before we move on no man no all right so yeah we'll see how the CH this season go but I'm optimistic and uh and look out for me on NFL Nation live uh next week I'm doing a Raider show uh on Wednesday before the Lightning Fast podcast uh uh on Wednesday so we have four day for me on Wednesday we'll go into the lons then discuss the game against the the Raiders faithful so that'll be interesting but um yeah but it's gonna be a good time and hopefully the Chargers will uh get themselves a victory in week one against the uh daunting Raiders and garden muu speaking of garden muu let's talk about a new segment this is a very interesting one for me CU Who will have it better in 2024? - Daniel Jones or Gardner Minshew coach Curry and I were having a discussion offline one day and we had we got on the topic of garden muu and of course we both been baffled all summer about the dumpster fire that's been going on with the New York Giants and their front office misgivings right so then the light bulb went off and I said you know with the clear ceiling that Gard mitu has and the Giants having to deal with Daniel Jones one more season I had an idea for the show who would have it better so we covered the AFC West in detail so you know what the Raiders are working with and we covered the Giants with NFL inside us and of course you watch Hard Knocks and that ugliness inside of that organization shaking my head so that begs the question so who would have it better in 2024 whose team will win more games and have better stats gner mustache menu or Daniel get this Daniel happy Fe Jones i l the floor to you sir this is this is one of the most easiest decisions that we've ever had as part of a show okay so not to the belabor the point I'm pushing all the chips to Gardner menu okay okay I look at the organization top bottom and who they have running the organization right from a coaching perspective and then who they have around only thing that concerns me about Raiders is their running back situation with Josh Jacobs going but outside of that you're more concerned about the Raiders versus the the Giants running situation with Deon single yes because the Giants have more holes if I looked than the Raiders have so they have more things that are needing to be filled than the Raiders when I look at quarterback quarterback running back running back receiver receiver defense when I look at that I know the Giants have Gap in hes if the Giants were a boat they're taking on water okay everywhere okay the Raiders have a have a slight opening that can just be fill with some Flex Seal but it's still there and that's the running back situation so yeah if I had to go with this man that over there to the right is a walking flaming brown bag of hot feces Oh that I want know parts of okay rest back so let me let me let me ask a question more detailed question so who has more passing yards between the two Garner who has a better record Gardner okay all right so you leading Gardner on both sides now oh hell yeah okay hell yeah okay so all right so this is where I met with it so what I feel like for both teams you have a good chance of finishing last Division I will say that okay but in regards to what quarterback will have a better season the Giants have the better defense so so we keep you know they will keep them in games okay but but conversely dall's gonna get real conservative with his play calling more and more to move the chains control the clock out of offense versus airing it out right so that's Gonna Save Dariel Jones from embarrassing himself too much you know and if they you know if he can close out a few games here and there especially with the defense can save them kind of like what the Cowboys did for the uh Cowboys defense did for Dak Prescott last year you know putting him in good positions you know scoring on defense you know this type of stuff if that their defense can do that for them they'll be in they'll be in games yeah in NCS so that that's one thing that they they gonna be should be a to hang their hat on right yeah so they have the chance to win more games yeah you know so consequently they might win more games than the Raiders if if I had to put my money on it okay but I but I also don't expect Daniel Jones to light up on a statute either no so I think he's gonna waste away mid League neighbors first year which is tragedy for me um so that's a problem but but in Mitch's case I don't think he's gonna have the Lux he don't have the luxury of a great defense they're rebuilding that so being and being there in the AFC they're going get they're going to have a lot of games where they're going to be playing for behind yes right so I think the Raiders will be playing for behind a lot and they will have to throw it more going ultimately ironically give MIT a better stat line than Jones does but I do think the Raiders end up with a worst record so if I had a Giants likely finishing at seven-10 at a ceiling I got the Raiders finishing likely at 5 and 12 right which also means that muu has a better stat line but but he also gives the Raiders a better draft pick to draft his replacement yes so I think that ironically enough that sight ass does go to menu for those thing for those I for those uh points I just highlighted better stat line worst record they end up drafting a rookie quarterback from college that he either will be the bridge to or will be flat out be replaced by but that's going to put Daniel Jones and the Giants in the quandre because they finish 710 or higher they only picking middle of the pack and that's not they not have to pick a little from a quarterback perspective so what do you do there so it's kind of like a lose loose for the Giants altogether because they have a good defense and day ball is going to is confident enough of my money to to not you know keep make Daniel Jones be the sole reason why they win or lose games right so we'll see but yeah I'm wishing that Gardner has a better season but it'll be interesting to see that how how things shake out but I do think Gardner's GNA throw the ball more okay all right man well boom there it is we done did it yep we done did it another show is in the books we are we are gearing up for week one of the of the regular season you know by the time we air again we'll be two days away from the opening night football is back this weekend WNBA is in full swing they GE up for a playoff run Angel Ree and Caitlin Clark play again on Friday I believe so check that out if you have not seen them play each other yet it's
