hello my name is Travis Williams I'm the CEO and founder of HBCU Allstars a black own Sports Marketing events and Media company located in Atlanta Georgia today our HBCU all stars are landing here in the great City of Phoenix for the third annual HBCU allstar game at Grand Canyon University this evening we're host in the HBCU all star awards ceremony this is an opportunity to shine the national Spotlight on our most prestigious 24 HBCU Allstars elected to participate in this historic and third annual HBCU Allstar land and on top of that we have an amazing opportunity to recognize some of our most distinguished leaders here in the great City of Phoenix that are really pouring into the community doing some amazing things and what a great opportunity and of course all eyes on Grand Canyon University Sunday April 7th and I'm telling you this is a place to be good morning Brett brungart with bam testing here with with Travis Williams and today we're running pro day uh and we're replicating what goes on at the NBA Combine or colleges around the country and giving these athletes a chance to have some Talent identification as well as get the same experience that a lot of other athletes get and help them prepare to get better at the next level why is this important it's important because it sets benchmarks and tells them their strengths and their weaknesses so they get to see oh my my linear speed's good but my lateral speed's not so good so now I got an obstacle but obstacles are opportunities right yeah and so now we got a chance to get better at that and improve ourself and also they're going to learn how to do the tests because everywhere they go for workouts some variation this is going to be in there and so a relaxed tester is a better tester why is this important for you this is for me is is creating quality data and also giving athletes around the country a Level Playing Field with the same experience of standardized athletic test so they all have comparables it's all a Level Playing Field appreciate you pouring into US appreciate our great partnership you you one the best in business man thank you for thank you for having us yeah all right we're here at Phoenix College doing our third annual HBCU Allstar college and scholarship fair with some amazing local high school students here the Phoenix area we want to be able to expose them to all of the rich talented HBCU across the country that are here participating in our College missions Fair HBCU matter we are dedicated we're hard work and we're ambitious and we get an opportunity today during our College of mission fair is to expose our young folks to the great work that we're doing on HBCU and the great work they'll see when they matriculate during their college Years at HBCU tell us what an event like this this magnitude means for the community this community is one of the oldest uh Hispanic black communities in the community and we're very proud of it gr Park is Historic Park established in 1935 and the community runs it itself uh my husband and I Lisa from the city and we run it all kinds of programs for kids and to have the opportunity to be honored like this with a new court but plus resources to get our kids involved is tremendous so we're over the hill and we're just really pleased that we could be a part of it thank hello Travis L Williams CEO and found of HBCU Allstars the unveilling of the third annual HBCU allstar game Court here in Phoenix final four weekend historic moment Grand Kane University this is going to be the epicenter of black college basketball a celebration of black college basketball at the highest level representing 49 hbc's 24 exclusive HBCU All Star live CBS television network 1:00 p.m. Pacific Time 3:00 p.m. eastern time pregame college game day 400 p.m. eastern Time game start this will be the place to be grand K University the best in black college basketball where are we we're at the HBCU all sing Our Star game here at Grand Canyon University what are you doing today I'm going to be singing the black national anthem here at the game are you excited yes I'm very excited thank you baby I really really appreciate it when you look around you see the magnitude of us representing HBCU what does that mean to you um it means a lot to me um for the players to get a chance to play here on a televised game that's a really big opportunity for them and I feel like that's really cool that they get to do something like this what do you think when you HC you experience the band The Cheer is a dance team I think it's a really amazing just game that you set this together I think it's really amazing that people get to see this people get to experience this and I think it's really cool that it's all set together now you see why Daddy's out here grinding hard for your future right so you see when Daddy leaves home have to go away this is a combination of our God driven Vision the grind is real and preparation for your fut but I'm so proud of you today on this moment shine this moment this is your time to shine I would have not I'm just telling you this is U the one of the greatest moments of my life that you're going to be doing this today so keep shining my baby dad will always love you baby right [Music] thank you God thank you God thank you God for the vision when you placed this Vision in my spirit in October 2019 I'm I was being obedient faithful and living my purpose and we got a chance to see that this day on Sunday April 7th 2024 this day will go down in history on the campus of grand K University inside Global Credit Union Arena we have an amazing show of unity love and support for our hbcus and we showed the world that HBCU matter we showed the world that we have some of most talented student student athlete brilliant coaches ambitious and de deserving individuals that participated in this historic and third annual HBCU allstar game at Grand Canyon un what amazing moment I just want to say a very special thank you to our CBS Sports partners that broadcasted this game across the country across the globe so they got an opportunity to see the great work and the great expertise that our HBCU Allstar show I want to send a very special thank you to Grand Kane University their University and athletic Administration staff that really welcome us of Open Arms from that first Paris conference with ad Jamie bog you know president Brian Mill and the legendary golf other basketball Jerry Colangelo I remember that day like yesterday I remember when I first made my first official visit here in July 2023 just really trying to navigate Phoenix but I really want to thank the Phoenix Community everyone mattered today and what this game stood about from Governor HS to Mayor GGO to all elected officials everything if you believe in a dream if you work hard and you bet on yourself things will happen but keep your faith you know serve your purpose and it's important we got an opportunity to celebrate Black Excellence at the highest highest level and it was soul out crowd amazing moment thank you God for the vision
