fans tailgator are out in force and after months and months of talking we are finally ready to tee it up we got a good one season opener North initially first play from scrimmage it will be a handoff right side that is EA rdale gets about two getting some positive yards but South Alabama stays home now the first pass across the middle caught nice bullet to DT Sheffield Sheffield on him is south M defensive coordinator will wendham third down and eight good pocket good protection and good delivery Wyatt young goes down to get fast speed offense all the time but you see still the defense still scrambling to get in spots they look absolutely confused as South Alabama's DT Sheffield able to make the catch this is Ragsdale in the back field now and he will go the same route going to the left side and that's the outlet to him he's got some Running Room first down and more Ragsdale spin move across the 20 to the 18 oh and it really started with that offensive line they picked the blitz up right there Texas Sheffield in motion to The Far Side they'll give it to Ragsdale slips and still able to get back up and get a nice gain inside the 15 yard the line to gain is the eight yd line little touch pass to Sheffield good blocking along the left side Sheffield gets the first down inside the five to the four he in for your alterior lineman and receivers Ragsdale met at the line of scrimmage flan mck the Fair Hope native just across so third down and goal and it'll be Morris taking it himself into the end zone touchdown North Texas CH Chandler Morris just does a nice job of just following his blocks around the left side right there makes a couple of gu and it's seven nothing pending the extra point guess I jumped the gun a little bit now it is seven nothing as North Texas with him [Applause] DJ Thomas Jones in motion and it'll go outside to Devin boyon good cut at the 25 boyon up to the 30 yd line good game get a a few positive yards there on first down Deon Boon the one that caught that last pass actually was injured in gain two last year and missed the rest of the Seas both with Allstar potential Kell Bullock his first run off the left side Runs Out of Bounds at about the 37 yd line in Mississippi a big stable of running backs for South Alabama meantime Gio who has Escape ability rolls left throwing downfield and has a man caught that elusiveness and there's no way you can simulate that in practice either as guys are chasing you around and what a play by Gio and he'll just take it himself had the option to go out to so third down and very short it'll be Gio taking it himself and Gio finds room in that backfield for North Texas and falls down to the one yd line Lopez left side has it caught complete to pritchet but well shy of the first down at the 20 did not attempt a field goal at East Carolina last year trying to hit it from 39 yds out on the way and it is good so margin put South Alabama history dictates they'll put it in the air here and they will right side oneon-one tackle he makes a Miss Wyatt young T it's a first down let's see if they keep it on the ground no they will go to the air good protection along the offensive line that one's incomplete thrown pressure on him but despite the injuries that offensive line has done a pretty good job so far there's Ragsdale getting close to the first down marker maybe about two or three yard 20 down to the well who is really impressed in Camp and he will get the call his first run does get close to the first down I think he may be Lopez all by himself and it is a design draw Lopez finding some room up the middle touchdown South Alabama that's just great blocking right there up front Trent Thomas that tight end position on top 10 to S as margin puts the extra point off have everybody in here but it has been a great home for South Alabama and glad to have North Texas here for a visit second down this one is complete first down and another strike to Damon w a defensive back what is allowed what is not how do you hit how do you not hit I mean that's a I would argue that defensive back may be one of the toughest to play because you're you the second quarter they Trail 10-7 Morris Alabama everybody comes up and down on the one and now with the procedure back to the six and now they will do a little trickeration up the middle as Jawan price will get us back to the one for North Texas nothing new to him second and goal at the one Morris again into the end zone second rushing TouchDown for Chandler Morris and they just run that fake right up the middle that pulls most of the folks over towards the middle of the field now the extra point is on the way and right through the uprights so 2819 Kell Bullock is the running back they'll instead swing it outside to Deon Boon and he is upended at the 27 yd line at the 23 yd line Gio looking down field has a receiver gets it to him wow that's field to be able to make that catch and pick up that first down for South first first up Fike so the extra point is good and we got a two-point ball receivers stack both ways to the left and to the right looking for that developing out route and they got it the 46 and now nobody there is a busted coverage down the sideline touchdown North Texas [Applause] DT sh gets the touchdown as there was a busted coverage along the right side and nobody was all day long on a long touchdown pass like that extra point is through and North Texas 26 so you see the busted coverage there what what happened either they expected Mike Harris in the Barton on for his third punt of the day fumbles a snap but still has plenty of time but then puts it off of his teammate into the end zone recovered by nor well it was the timing that was thrown off from the start and then the blocker was completely thrown off it was a good snap just lost it as it hit him in the hands he drops it and then it threw everything off from there but you got opportunities yet had the the drop Punt and then the drop snap and then goes right off your teammate but the way Lopez flushed out the Lefty going to his right and that is a pass interference 42 yd line via the pass interference penalty MC reyolds left side almost got to the third level broke a couple and did they get him to jump I think they did I think they did free play right here absolutely throw to the right side they'll take the play slant has been impossible to defend it'll be Morris little shovel pass and they get the first down just barely good attempt by South Alabama again an open receiver and again a linebackers in front of the safeties to pick up that big first down for the north Texas Morris across the 20 to the 19 yd line and not letting the runner fall forward making sure he drove him back third down right side good adjustment with the ball in the air Damon Ward Jr again now three that was the 11th catch by Ward now they'll put it in the belly of the running back who will prance into the end zone the Kaa ragale yards of offense and getting ready to try to score their 49th point and it is on the way in good so 40 to freshman fond troter was a guy that split time with last year in the bowl game as Deon Boon makes a sliding catch and that sh Lopez steps up in the pocket plenty of room to run gets the first down maybe should have slid that pointy was a little surprised that Lopez took the hit first and 10 Jags Gio On The Run has an outlet but will take it himself and he will take pretty good lick a plenty of time in the pocket directing receivers to go anywhere and he'll throw right side complete to sandrin at the 35 yd line first to his strength right there kind of working through the hold and still picking up the sack North Texas only rushing three Zone coverage Jamal pritet settles [Applause] in pressure from the backside and Gio no he's not going down you kidding me Lopez Endzone touchdown South wow what a play by Gio there's your toughness right there Jags have been unsuccessful in all of their two-point conversion so far they'll dump it and incomplete he was going for eager but once again had that pressure from the backside North Texas also operating without a a running back that they were counting on Zack Evans who's a transfer from Minnesota he will be back in the lineup at some point second down and seven throw it to the outside ball is loose South Alabama's got it four and a half to go inside slant why not why not give it to the guy who has torched the defense all have to verify that they'll go right side Harris short of the line to gain stopped at the 12 yd line so kicking the long ones he was short and right the last time this one is right down the alley in motion Lopez has his receiver first down south Alabama it's another pitch and catch quarterback Position will come to him a second down and 10 Lopez underneath has voon makes the catch first down to the 48 yd line a ton of offense as we [Applause] expected needing to convert this one then they do got another catch to to Deon Boon we can get used to this fourth down Jags down to their final opportunity here Lopez across the middle trying to get it to Anthony eager broken up and that will do it in the intro I went back and watched some of that those highlights from that TCU Baylor game where he put up 500 and was so impressive and boy I thought he was just as impressive for the two head coaches a happy Eric Morris will have a happy flight back to Denton Texas as North Texas comes away with a 14-point win in
