tyu mli Brad it's another year here at MIS and obviously being a Michigan native you know all too well that this weather can be a little bit funky at times how are you approaching your home race here with the fact that we might not race on time on Sunday and we might have to go back to Monday again yeah maybe with a little bit of denial so um you know I think uh Tower youit when I grew up here it was always just saying wait 5 minutes the weather will change so if if it's a bad forecast that means it'll be good on Sunday if it isn't that right I don't know how that works right so um you know we starting the week out it was like oh it's going to Mono soon all three days and as we were kind of talking through it this morning in our briefing it's already changed to scattered showers and maybe it'll change one more time uh so we'll see uh what the today and tomorrow brings but uh you know the thing about it is it's the same for all the competitors and uh from that perspective you know I think we just view it as something to work through and in some cases an opportunity Bob pacis well pakers Fox Sports if NASCAR had not penalized and taken the playoff bit away from Austin Dylan would you expect RFK racing drivers to make that move to get into the playoffs uh I don't know it's clear that the you know we'll just keep moving the line whatever that line is um and if we don't know where the line is we'll just keep pushing to more and more extremes and that's not limited to Austin that's you know just the the entire industry right um you know I uh have some sympathies for all the parties involved whether it be Nascar or Austin and certainly the guys that U got wrecked last week but you know the the the way the system is set up I you know I kind of understand it right um so um you know that that has uh an effect that trans sends not just the the cup series but on down and um you know it's something that I think that NASCAR felt a lot of pressure to to react on and and they did I I don't know if I have an idea whether they made the right move or wrong move I guess time will tell but um you know it's it's an interesting situation it's um I'm kind of more surprised that that didn't happen earlier to be honest in the playoff format uh but maybe it's just part of a Natural Evolution that happens slowly over time but uh with now NASCAR interjecting I think Bob it's fair to say that this would just evolve to another step I don't know what that would be but uh it'll always just keep evolving until something gets stopped would you expect like your driver like every driver you say has a code butas car they a code or Chris buer said he would never do that move no matter what yeah would you be okay as that um you know I think there's a couple different things unwind there Bob you know you have the culture of the driver culture of the garage area culture of the sport uh you know culture is you know not just what you practice and preach it's what you toate whether that's in the sport or in anything in life and you know I think NASCAR had to decide what was what could be Tower rated and I think they made a good attempt at putting a Line in the Sand um we'll see how that sticks um but that that said uh you know we we would all adapt to it yeah naturally you have to adapt to it and uh you know if that became the norm uh every week then you know I I think uh actions would speak louder than words and we'd all probably fall into that reality right um so uh I I don't think we have any intentions of getting to that being the norm every week uh particularly at RFK but you know you race what the rules are and if that if the rules are something's okay we're going to probably find a way to do it right whether that's on the car or on the racetrack Jeff Lee Roy you said NASCAR made a good attempt at putting a Line in the Sand I mean do you know where that line is like like if it's Martinsville you have to win to make the final four you know you're coming down to it you need that spot are are you fairly sure of what you can do and not do in that situation reasonably um you know it I I think they made as good an attempt as you could make to draw a line in the sand but you know humans and life evolves right and we'll find some other piece right it I don't think there's a way to have permanent solutions for everything that happens in in life and sports right so uh I don't know what the next thing will be um you know I think everybody a couple years ago got a good kick out of the Ross's move and that was certainly an evolution of the sport right and and NASCAR made a point to make that kind of a oneand done and I think they're they're trying really hard to do that here something else I'm sure will pop up as it always does and you know that's part actually what makes the sport fun too is seeing what new thing is going to pop up we might not always agree with whatever it is but um I I think it's it's unrealistic for anyone in the industry to expect NASCAR to know everything that's going to happen before it happens uh and we want them to be proactive and not reactive but uh you know they're outnumbered significantly by people that are always trying to to find new ways to beat systems and you know in some cases uh they have to be reactive and this is one uh one of those cases in my mind Jeff no problem you you talk talked about the line NASCAR talked about the line did they further Define that in the competition meeting this morning I wasn't in it I'm I'm here with you it's still going I wanted to talk to Lee a um you you've won Daytona but you've won the summer race and not the crown jewel is winning the summer race and not the Crown Jewel kind of like kissing your sister uh you know I've got three sisters but honestly I don't kiss him that much so I don't have great answer for that but um um you know I I feel like um uh you know the Daytona 500 and this race for me feel really similar like we've been in great positions we've let a lot of laps we've won the stages uh here in particular I've sat on the poll but for whatever reason at the end of the race it just hasn't come together and uh a lot of top fives and and all those other things here in particular a lot of second places um and and you know those things um you know they they they they kind of happen when they're meant to happen uh but um you know for Daytona specific um you know I think we'll have a great shot of winning uh in two weeks or week and a half whatever that is uh when we get there you know it was nice to to sweep the race one two last year it was really great uh for our company and and for Chris um you know we plan on doing the same thing I can tell you that but uh it is Bittersweet to have so much success in the uh the summer race and not be able to to seem to connect the dots in the uh you know the 500 but um that's life uh I don't know about I guess probably it's hard to to say when you're living it every day um you know I didn't really feel like I had a great opportunity to pass him um so I was I was happy to see him win and um you know I'm sure that favor will get returned somewhere down the road time for two more Roy and then Chris yeah thank you very much Brad Roy Acres Sky View Sports the I hate to ask one more question on the Dylan situation but if it would just been Logano and not uh Danny Hamlin and then the spotter coming out with his comments do you think Dylan would have skated on this or was it the totality of you know the wreck R going here going there and then the spot are telling them to wreck them well I think that's probably a better question for Elton Sawyer and NASCAR I I I didn't sit in the room when they were making uh their decision to to know exactly what was uh encapsulated in the the the decision-making process but uh I think it's fair to say that uh you know adding more things to the scenario doesn't do any favors to it um but uh I don't know if I could answer if you know you subtracted one or two elements if the reaction would have been the same I I don't know how they looked at that Bray Chris night catch.com Brad I was just curious your thoughts on ending the regular season at Darlington especially considering what happened there in the spring instead of a dicey race like Daytona yeah it's uh different I think um for me I'm really excited about heading the season Dar I a great shot to to sweep the races it's been a really good track for us uh at RFK we've got some great cars to go there with um you know whether it be Daytona or darington um you know now that the six car is locked in or since we've been locked in we're fairly agnostic to to what race it ends with but uh you know that said uh you know we're throwing everything we have at it for Chris busher to you know make his way in the playoffs and right now he's the cof C to to make it and um you know that that's going to be a really difficult race 500 miles around uh dton is a it's a tough race but even more so knowing it's the the cut off race to to make the championship that's going to be a a very big challenge for him and for for all those drivers that are trying to break through so I think it almost is is is fitting in that sense Chris because um you know 7500 is meant to be a very prestigious very challenging race for the drivers and uh it'll make it even that much more impactful no problem uh that's it Brad thank you very much thanks guys good luck this weekend have a great day guys Steven St of front trips.com here come back for more
